No mention of North Carolina early voting from Palin

Palin stumped in traditionally-red North Carolina Thursday

ELON, North Carolina (CNN) – Thursday marked the first day of early voting in North Carolina, a state unaccustomed to being in the political spotlight this late in a presidential election year.

But at an afternoon rally at Elon University near Greensboro, Republican Sarah Palin did not offer her supporters even the gentlest reminder that early voting - an opportunity both parties are working to take advantage of - is now underway at nearly 400 sites across the battleground state. Long lines at one-stop voting locations have been reported throughout North Carolina.

She did, however, mention the 85 degree heat.

“Thank you all for that very, very warm welcome to beautiful North Carolina, and it is warm,” she said. “Man, this Alaskan gal is … I’m roasting. This feels really good.”

Palin’s speech lasted only about 20 minutes, and was an abbreviated version of the remarks she delivered this morning in Maine: a brisk run-through of her ticket’s beliefs and platforms, including a one-line promise to protect Second Amendment rights.

In fact, the audience spent more time with country singer Hank Williams, Jr., who donned a Carolina Panthers jersey and warmed up the already warm crowd for about 45 minutes before Palin arrived on a local version of the Straight Talk Express along with North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr.

Near the end of her speech, Palin pressed the audience to stand firm against accusations of negative campaigning, and told them to pay “close attention” to Barack Obama’s record.

“It’s not mean-spirited and it’s not negative campaigning when you call someone out on their record,” she said. “So don’t let anyone, don’t let them make you believe that you’re being negative or mean spirited or unpatriotic or unfair when you are asking about somebody’s record, OK?”

After the rally, Palin continued on to a fundraiser at a home in Greensboro.

Palin is 100% correct. The media and Obama supporters have acted like Barrack Obama should be off-limits when it comes to criticism. Which of course makes absolutely no sense, considering the man is running for the highest office in the land. They paint any criticism of Obama as an "attack" or "hateful." What they fail to see, is that everyone isn't as brainwashed as themselves. People can have legitimate gripes about Obama without being hateful or racist.

That's right Jerad. So this means Sarah Palin should NOT be off limits either. The Republicans shield her from the media as if she's some kind of goddess. What they're really saying is "she's too dumb to handle the media by herself and she'll sink them to the point of no return." Well guess what? Too late. She's already sunk her party. She's a joke.

If Ayers is a terrorist, why is he walking the streets instead of teaching in a college? Why isn't he locked up if he is a threat to America? Why isn't he in Guantamo with the rest of the terroist? McCain and Palin are more of a threat to America and the American people than he is.....They are still trying to put fear in American hearts and minds just like Bush and Cheney have done.

Well it's good to see that Palin is beefing up her international credentials, she is getting closer and closer to CUBA!

Republicans don't need someone to tell them to vote early. They are smart enough to show up on November 4th, and vote... you know... like as in, following the rules of this country?

I don't get why the Democrat party thinks "poor" people are too stupid to register and vote on the day.

I don't believe that crud about "over-populated" election places either, because, already OH (despite the 200,000 fraudulent registrations), OH Democrats were sad to see such a low turnout during 'early voting'...

Come on, this story is pathetic...

Republicans don't care if voters vote. Where have all of you been? They just steal elections. And I am pretty sure they will try to do that again.

Joe the plumber, Joe sixpack, excludes people who have names. This economy is not about Joe and certainly Palin does not support women in this country. How could anyone vote two idiots into the WhiteHouse.

This is some of the most mean-spirited spewing I have ever seen. It's worse than a playground at recess. If this is what we are teaching our kids, it is no wonder that our country is in the mess that it is in. Why can't all of you who are so freely dishing out your venom, take a step back and think of a way to use your energy in a constructive manner.

    Chris,
You took a wrong turn into CNN land. You need to go to gretawire.com. That's the Republican forum and you'll feel right at home there. Better yet, I think that EVERYONE here should go to gretawire.com and ruffle the feathers of the McCain supporters. You want to talk about mean-spirited and hatred? Go to that forum and this one will start to look really nice and civilized.

    Obama/Biden 08 & 12 all the way.

  13. Obama is for UNITING of the PEOPLE

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION BEFORE NOV. 4TH...............I keep hearing McCain saying he can PROMISE more JOBS for the American people.............Why didn't he do this for the thousands of employee's that LOSE their jobs at his wives BEER company. The reason for the reduction was to save the company millions of dollars, without regards to the devastation that would cause these employee's and their families.

QUESTION....If McCain Cares and KNOW how to create JOBS, why didn’t he share this with his wife so she would have given them the OPPORTUNTY to KEEP their JOBS????????????????????????????????

She doesn't want to mention early voting. After listening to that annoying voice and the hate she spews, the crowd would run to the polls–to vote for Obama/Biden.

Roger: First of all this Joe Plumber guy isn't even a licensed plumber and now the state is considering sanctions against him and his boss's company for sending an unlicensed plumber on jobs. Way to go McCain for exploiting this man and possibly ruining his career.

Also, reports show that the business he wants to buy only grossed $100,000 last year – and he himself only made $40,000 – so he isn't even in a position to buy the business, not to mention the fact that the business itself doesn't even come close to the level of income that Obama's plan would take effect.

Obama's plan calls for the amount in EXCESS of $250,000 to be taxed at a higher rate. If for some miracle, he did buy that business and had TAXABLE INCOME of $280,000 – only $30,000 would be taxed at the higher rate, which experts have estimated would come to an additional $900 in taxes. $900! And considering that Obama's plan calls for a 50% credit for health care and other tax benefits – it would be highly likely that he wouldn't even have to pay that $900.

So, he basically is stirring up a problem where there isn't one – simply to advance his right wing views. (He told reporters he thinks Social Security is a joke and that he is glad we are in Iraq.)

Bottom line, he is too stupid to realize that he would fare better under Obama!

It is not inconceivable that she is an alien. Not an illegal alien, I'm talking an all out, Sigourney Weaver-type alien. Why didn't Obama bring that up during the debate when Bob Schieffer asked if she was qualified? Who said she was the X – factor? Palin's straight out of the X-Files.

McCain's humanity should be scrutinzed as well. What really happened at the POW camp. And just look at him. Remember Invasion of the Body Snatchers? I was waiting for him to point at Obama and shriek, "That One!!" And who talks like that, besides the freak from Silence of the Lambs ("it puts the lotion in the basket"). Think about it. . . they're aliens.

America needs to know the truth.
