No mention of North Carolina early voting from Palin

Palin stumped in traditionally-red North Carolina Thursday

ELON, North Carolina (CNN) - Thursday marked the first day of early voting in North Carolina, a state unaccustomed to being in the political spotlight this late in a presidential election year.

But at an afternoon rally at Elon University near Greensboro, Republican Sarah Palin did not offer her supporters even the gentlest reminder that early voting - an opportunity both parties are working to take advantage of - is now underway at nearly 400 sites across the battleground state. Long lines at one-stop voting locations have been reported throughout North Carolina.

She did, however, mention the 85 degree heat.

“Thank you all for that very, very warm welcome to beautiful North Carolina, and it is warm,” she said. “Man, this Alaskan gal is … I’m roasting. This feels really good.”

Palin’s speech lasted only about 20 minutes, and was an abbreviated version of the remarks she delivered this morning in Maine: a brisk run-through of her ticket’s beliefs and platforms, including a one-line promise to protect Second Amendment rights.

In fact, the audience spent more time with country singer Hank Williams, Jr., who donned a Carolina Panthers jersey and warmed up the already warm crowd for about 45 minutes before Palin arrived on a local version of the Straight Talk Express along with North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr.

Near the end of her speech, Palin pressed the audience to stand firm against accusations of negative campaigning, and told them to pay “close attention” to Barack Obama’s record.

“It’s not mean-spirited and it’s not negative campaigning when you call someone out on their record,” she said. “So don’t let anyone, don’t let them make you believe that you’re being negative or mean spirited or unpatriotic or unfair when you are asking about somebody’s record, OK?”

After the rally, Palin continued on to a fundraiser at a home in Greensboro.

Palin, the attack puppy! That is all she is being used for by the campaign's Republican puppeteers, whoever they are. She has no original thought, cannot focus on the issues and is simply there to attack and distract.

This woman is scary. Even more scarier is her hubby (the first dude Todd Palin). Did you see how he hangs around her all the time. He's not running for office yet is frequently seeked out for advice by his wife. Is there another "shadow government" we need to be wary of in the vice-president's office? What is his REAL agenda?

    “What does Palin know ?”

That is the big white elephant in the room (of the public).

She didn’t know about the Russian delegation’s visit in Alaska. We don’t care about what she does not know, but what does she know about the Bush, McCain and Obama policies, current general knowledge of the US and the world, economy, foreign policy, health care, immigration and anything in the lower 48 states and the world. What does she really know ?

There are SOOO many things she's unaware of, I'm not surprised she didn't know about the early voting in NC.

I laugh so hard when neo-whiners like Jared comes on the boards and talks about criticizing Obama. Obama has not only been criticized, but Palin/McCain has used racism to pander to a certain type of voter. Obama can take it, now I don't know if hot headed McCain can on the other hand.

CNN, you guys need to talk about the Trooper gate report since she’s repeating the lies at her campaign events by saying that she is innocent when she actually violating the status; yet, she is GUILTY! I don’t understand how any thinking person can continue to support someone who lies so brazenly. Especially decent Christians. I wonder if there’s a commandment about that? I mean, she can’t even admit that she is guilty.

The last resort of the Failing McCain Campaign is to energize the base, Ignorant Right Wing Looneys! Republicans are waking up from a long peaceful McBush slumber [Ouch!], to find two pathetic morons [McCain/Palin], publicly displaying a comical cartoon like love affair with themselves, out of touch with our Nations true issues [it's the ECONOMY!], and engaging in a revolting "McCain First" campaign! That's a tough wake up call, "MY FRIENDS"!
The McCain inept solution is to unleash a Slang Talking Power Hungry Junk Yard Dog With The Racist Twinkle In Her Eye[Awaiting Alaska Criminal Indictment For Abusing Power] scampering around the Nation dangerously drumming up Bigotry [Wink Wink]. The obvious erratic incompetence of the McCain/Palin campaign provides us evidence enough that they are unfit for any public office. As Americans face the hardest financial disaster in the History of the USA, this is the McCain Policy! John McCain / Sarah Palin have no idea what Americans trying to survive face. 401K plans gutted, Unemployment, Foreclosures, Wall Street in the Tank, Main Street hopelessly waiting for a bail out, and the Global Economy in disarray...
McCain/Palin are a disgusting self serving disgrace undoubtedly proving they are not up to the complex task of keeping the Nation together in hard times.

P.S. McCain, your colossal arrogance has cost you Arizonans support in this Election!

Why wouldn't you mention early voting? Perhaps she wasn't aware? It wasn't in the many newpapers she reads?

No, Laura it's 'the many papers that have been put before her all these years, also'.....

She probably didn't mention the early voting because no one wrote down for her in her speech!!! When it comes to off the cuff remarks, she's shown she is not a creative thinker.

Has anyone noticed that her speech does not change? Same old Republican mantra; they just haven't realized that the American public "my friends" want something different, a change, someone who will fight for them.

Sarah notice the restraint Barack Obama used last night when your name came up in the debates. There is a man of character. He could have trashed you with your own truth but he will let the American people decide and we will, "you are not a breath of fresh air" more like frigid cold blast from the North. Someone who fits right in with Washington and Wall Street you lack ethics and know how to abuse of power.

Of course early voting isn't mentioned. They just started the vicious robo-calls filled with smears and lies. They want to saturate and invade the homes of Americans with all the slime they can spew.
