(CNN) - Former first lady Nancy Reagan has been released from a hospital after fracturing her pelvis during a fall at home last week, a spokeswoman said Friday.

Reagan, 87, returned to her Bel Air, California, home, spokeswoman Joanne Drake said.

Doctors expect a full recovery, prescribing a regimen of daily physical therapy and a reduced public schedule, Drake said in a written release.

The former first lady admitted herself to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday after experiencing what Drake described as "persistent pain."

Tests revealed a fractured pelvis and sacrum - the triangular bone within the pelvis.

She previously was hospitalized for two days in February after a fall.

President Reagan died in June 2004 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Since his death, Nancy Reagan has remained involved with the national Alzheimer's Association and its affiliate, the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute in Chicago, Illinois. However, she has appeared in public only rarely in recent years.

Reagan expressed her thanks in the release Friday to all those who prayed for her and sent cards, flowers, phone calls and e-mails.

I am a Democrat and I do hope that Nancy will heal and I wish her a speedy recovery.
~ At least during the Reagan years, you didnt have Congress women like Michell Bachmann from Minnesota on National Television making statements that it is Anti American if you are a Liberal or a left wing or a Democrat. I have to wonder if back when Nancy's husband was President if they had Congress woman on the Republican side saying that the media should do their jobs, and investigate Democratic memebers of Congress for being Anti American.

    Nancy, PLEASE endorse Barack Obama.

You KNOW he is a good man, cool-calm-collected.

He will be a great president.

Just because you are Republican doesn't mean you can't for once endorse a good Democrat.

Mrs. Reagan, may you have a speedy recovery. On the other hand Sarah Palin, I am so sick of you trying to divide this country. By telling your base that only them and John McCain love this country. Well I'm here to tell you, you are not the only one that love America. Your big mouth has already almost cause McCain to lose this election. You are a disgrace to all intelligent women. While you're trying to run down Obama and question whether are not he Love This Country, The American People had better be afraid of you. You have nothing to bring to the table. John McCain, has lost all credibility in judgment by choosing you as a running mate. He has found his Republican base leaving, all because of you inexperience. You are a loser in every way. You betcha', Tell me it ain't so Sarah.

If you support Obama, don't get complacent thinking because he is ahead in the polls that he is going to win the election.

    YOU HAVE TO VOTE!

AND YOUNG PEOPLE–you are the culprits most of the time–lots of talk and no do!

I have never missed an election since JFK–not a local, state, or national election. I worked on Robert Kennedy's campaign until the moment he was murdered.

Obama is a special man like JFK and RFK. I was there then and I know it now!

Do your duty and you will elect the best candidates! OBAMA/BIDEN

    Dear "McPain Pro America"

Your lack of intelligence is showing with your inability to create grammatically correct sentences, correct spelling, and for you to probably understand the true nature of history and politics. While the First Amendment does guarantee your miserable self the right to "spew" hatred against a First Lady who is recovering from an injury, and a President who is no longer here to defend himself. I hope that you will at least take some time to research some facts before presenting a limited, closed-minded view.
