Who has campaigned more in the 'real Virginia'?

(CNN) – McCain adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer made a splash Saturday by drawing a line between northern Virginia and “real Virginia,” which she said is the “part of the state that is more Southern in nature,” a comment that may not sit well with the many residents of the commonwealth residing north of Frederickburg.

Using Pfotenhauer’s definition, however, Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Biden have out-campaigned their Republican rivals by a significant margin in “real Virginia.”

Obama has made nine campaign stops in central, southwest and southeast Virginia: in Martinsville, Lynchburg, Chester, Chesapeake, Fredericksburg, Lebanon, Norfolk, Roanoke and Newport News. Biden has made two: Castlewood and Fredericksburg.

By contrast, McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin have only ventured out of northern Virginia twice. On Monday, the pair held a joint rally in Virginia Beach, and Palin then continued on to a campaign stop in Richmond.

McCain’s rally Saturday was in the northern Virginia town of Woodbridge, home to thousands of Virginians who commute up to Washington, D.C. every day on I-95.

Just keep dividing the country, state by state. What an outstanding idea. Makes sense the GOP's doing this, especially if you heard the Republican Congresswoman (Bachmann) from Minnesota. Frightening stuff. McCarthyism. The McCain motto should be, "If We Can't Win, We're Tearing the Country Down."

Why don't you join the "real" world and get the hell out of the U.S. We are sick and tired of all your lies. It surprises me that now you are using the socialist word when you could have been using that all along.. kinda lonely when its you.. oh but wait...!!! You aren't alone.. you have another bird of a feather in Palin. Have a great time finishing out your short-term career.

Another example of McCain's people just not getting it! There are plenty of people in "real" Virginia that are looking forward to voting for change.

I surely hope it's too late for McDemented to be voted into office. Prepare to reinstitute the draft if he does win as we'll be starting wars all over with this egotistical maniac in office.

My friends, how can anyone still consider McLoon as a viable president? My friends, it boggles the mind that a lying, arrogant, erratic, cheating, forgetful (senile), angry, morally bankrupt old man could be voted in as president.

This bitter old man has sold his soul and honor and has done so so very cheaply.

Has America learned nothing from the last eight years of this nation's steady decline on the world stage? You're going to vote for a man who can't look his opponent in the eye, cannot take criticism, cannot handle a crisis, has no real policies of his own (if he does they are changed every couple weeks) to try and match what he thinks his 'base' wants to hear.

I hope it's not so. A vote for McLame/Failin is a vote to continue this country's downward spiral in the world. We'll be working for China...

Real Virginia? Is that anything like campaigning in the pro-America?

Der Pfotenfrau is right. Northern VA is an enclave of highly educated and relatively wealthy liberals who are gaga over "diversity" and make their domain a "welcoming and inclusive" place for large numbers of illegal aliens to mow their lawns and take care of their bratty kids.

Please hire some intelligent people to run this now almost a pathetic campaign.

How can you take a chance to offend third of the voters of state that is a must win for McCain.

McCain/Palin will soon run out of negaitive staff. The sad thing about Palin is that she used her opportunity on the national plat form for such negative, hateful lies.

We know that Sarah Palan was already interested in a separatist group in Alaska. Has McCain become a separitist also? Real Virginia, "pro American" parts of the U.S. She is so devisive! Can't the people see that she is unqualified or are they blinded? She is making jokes tonight on Saturday Night Live and exactly where she should be because she is a "joke." One person stated it well, when she can't state an answer, she "makes cute" with her smile, winks and slang. It is so immature and unstateswoman like.

first Palin says there are two type of America, pro-America and anti-America, now a real Virginia and a fake Virginia, all the McCain camp and the republicans do is divide and hate mongering, i guess they truly don't care about the economy

Well, since DC has no voting representation, despite the fact that it has a larger population than Wyoming and its residents pay taxes just like everyone else, good for NoVA residents for using their right to vote!

All this "real Virginia", "pro America" areas of the country rhetoric is just divisive politics at it's absolute worst. Shame on you Republicans – shame on you! Country first huh, and just which parts of the country are you talking about?? Last time I checked, this country was full of Americans, east to west, north to south.

Sorry Mr. McCain, but I do live in Real Virginia. That would be Woodbridge, VA, where you were today. If you don't think this is the 'Real Virginia' why were you here? I used to respect you but you have brought new meaning to the words pandering and desperate.

Ain't this wonderful, according to Republicans, There is a fake Virginia and a real Virginia. Pro-American and Anti-American parts of this country , and there is Pro-American Congressional members and Anti-American congressional members. So, I wonder if the "fake" Virginia is part of the Anti-America sections of this country, and is it controlled by Anti-American Politicians?

Its good to know that having been born on a military base in Petersburg, VA and now residing in Alexandria, VA that I no longer live in 'real' Virginia; does this mean I should stop paying my real Virgiia taxes like Joe-the-almost-Plumber hasn't paid his real Ohio taxes?

LOBBYIST NANCY made a moronic statement. Neither McCain nor Sarah palin attracts those souther nature voters. Republicans don't have that candidate. Besides, country changed a lot. Those people understand now that republicans only use them during election. Authencity matters in any election. You can't lie all the time.

Honestly, the people that McCain has running his campaign have got to be some of the numbest people I have ever heard in my life! Even the "Bushies" weren't this moronic! And anybody who supports Palin is obviously too lazy or blinded by her phoniness to have done proper research on the woman. Because if people really took the time to check out her back ground they'd mostly likely be ashamed to support her, lest they insult their own intelligence! She is one scary dudette!!!!
I strongly suggest anyone supporting this phony politician seriously reasearch her- Even Alaskans call her a slime bag!!!

First of all, it's ridiculous to designate a state as "real." What's the other portion of the state then? "Unreal" Virginia? I'm sure that's great for the self-image of proud Virginians living there.

Second, if you're going to attack your opponent, at least do it accurately.

They will say anything and do anything, except the right thing to get elected. McPalin sounds like a bunch of kids. They do not seem to get it, we need a real change from the disastrous policies of the last eight years. For God's sake, please stop posting their crap.
