Palin has a new nickname for Obama.
Palin has a new nickname for Obama.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado (CNN) — Taking “Joe the plumber” wordplay to an unprecedented new level, Sarah Palin on Monday dubbed Barack Obama “Barack the Wealth Spender” for his plan to offer tax credits to lower and middle-income wage earners.

Palin revealed the new moniker at an outdoor rally in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she also introduced a new working-class hero into the ever-expanding pantheon of “Joe the plumber”-types who oppose to Obama’s tax plan.

His name? Tito Munoz, christened by Palin as “Tito the builder.”

The McCain campaign discovered Munoz on Saturday at a rally in Woodbridge, Virginia, where the Colombian-born construction worker took on a group of reporters for digging into Joe Wurzelbacher’s background after the Toledo-based plumber questioned Obama’s proposal to raise taxes on workers making over $250,000 a year.

Munoz’s stand against the media was detailed by Byron York on the web site of the National Review magazine, and Palin was eager to thrust the tale into the political spotlight.

“Tito is not pleased with how the Barack Obama campaign and some of the media friends there have been roughing up Joe the Plumber,” Palin said, after accusing the Obama campaign of “investigating” Wurzelbacher’s background.

“He has a question of his own, and Barack Obama is not going to like this one either. Tito wants to know, and I quote, he asked, ‘Why the heck are you going after Joe the Plumber? Joe the Plumber has an idea. He has a future. He wants to be something greater. He wants to be something else. Why is that so wrong?’”

“Tito explained that he’s an immigrant from Colombia and he also had this reminder for us,” Palin continued. “He says, quote, ‘Everything is possible in America. I made it.’”

Palin said Munoz isn’t the only worker standing up against Obama — other taxpayers like “Phil the bricklayer” and “Rose the teacher” can expect to have their “dreams dashed by the Obama tax increase.”

“So tell me,” Palin asked. “Do we have any Joe the Plumbers in the house? So all these Joe the plumbers in the house, it doesn’t sound like you are supporting Barack the Wealth Spender in this elections.”

After a subsequent chorus of boos died down, Palin transitioned back into her normal stump speech, touting her record of reform as a tax-cutter in Alaska.

Barack the wealth spender?
That's the best shot she could take? It doesn't scan, it doesn't have any kind of rhythm, if just lays there with a dull clunk. Palin is a national joke. Palin, honey, your not cute and your stupid is showing.

Ian   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Last time I checked it was John McCain and Obama who voted for a $850 billion bailout for bankers. Talk about redistribution of wealth.

Chris, Oakbrook Terrace, IL   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Here's my question for Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin…If Sen. Obama is leading the country to socialism, are the Republicans leading the country to fasism? The Republicans just keep moving more and more to the right, which leads to the inevitable fasist platform. Choose your words wisely McCain/Palin….

Darlis   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Palin the Bimbo – is further discrediting herself. And I didn't think that was possible.

avni   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

I have a nick name for you my friend — Sarah – The dictator

i betchya CNN is not going to post this!!

Chris from WI   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Rose the teacher is going to be Rose the unemployed cat food and soap opera enthusiast if McCain/Palin get elected, sooo there's that.

Bubba the Plumber   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

"Caribou Barbie" stands proud as a stunning example of McCain's failing judgment. "Joe the Plumber" makes a great example of the GOP's pursuit of entitlements for the rich.

Nelson Colorado Springs Co   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Stupid is what stupit does, Sen McCain should a muzzle on PALIN lips. I think she is in her own world now Sen McCain has no control of what PALIN say or do now, unless McCain know. Go Obama/Biden

J.S.   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

"Spread the wealth" is a big concern BUT how about his own VP nominee Biden's remark that Obama would be tested by the international countries after about 6 months if he's elected—that's spooky. He has no experience in security and homeland defense.

No welfare with my money   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Obama wants to give my money to people who don't want to work, who spend all day getting high, and want to live off welfare, I don't like this at all.

HelloKitty08   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

god, please go back to alaska, for the sake of everyone. and take Joe the Plumber back with ya!

Tenisha   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

The McCain-Palin ticket doesn't know how to tell the truth. John McCain brought up Joe the Plumber and brought him into the debate. McCain kept making reference to this man, not Obama. So if these people should be mad at anyone it should be the Republican ticket. I am sorry that the plumbers, teachers, factory workers, policemen, etc. do not make $250,000 because thats whom will see in the increase in taxes. All these "mad" people aren't making close to that so what are they mad for???

Tanja   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Taking a cue from Palin: How about Palin the liar? Palin the hatemonger? Palin the panderer? Palin the pathetic?

Go Barack the New Leader!!!

Kay Rich   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Enough of the monikers, we're dealing with adults here! For crying out loud we could all Palin….Sarah the Power Abuser.

Let talk about the real issues!

Dave   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

How about a new nickname for Palin: Loser. The whole plumber gimmick is so tired, and it's pathetic that McCain/Palin base their campaign on it. Palin is no more than a joke, a punchline. Her only accomplishment since the GOP convention, besides giving the far right religious republican right something to get excited about, is to lift the ratings of Saturday Night Live. There is nothing – NOTHING – scarier than even the remote possibility of Palin in or near the White House. She is essentially Bush in a dress.

JohnLee   October 21st, 2008 9:35 am ET

Does she not respect anyone that doesn't believe as she does? I can't stand people like her. Let her go preach in a Rush Limbaugh right wing nutcase church but stay out of the public conversation that requires a brain!

MB   October 21st, 2008 9:34 am ET

There is nothing wrong with wanting something greater, nor with having a future. But to expect that you can say anything you want, at any time, and not face questions in return – to me that seems odd. It is quite like saying that you want to tell Katie Couric why you are great, but you will be upset if she asks any questions you aren't expecting.

If you put yourself in the spotlight, expect an inquisitive audience.

Dallas, TX   October 21st, 2008 9:34 am ET

Exactly, Obama wants to "spread the wealth" around; that means he wants individual who work hard and PAY taxes to pay MORE TAXES to give "tax credits" to those who don't pay taxes. 40% of people don't pay taxes already, so where did they get 95%?!?!

Some may not want to call this welfare or socialism, but let's not kid ourselves, just call it what it is: TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT!!

NO THANKS OBAMA!!!

McCain/Palin 2008!!!

republican voters who buy this garbage are too stupid for words

Andy J, NY   October 21st, 2008 9:34 am ET

Oh, but Palin is such a hate monger!

How dare you bring the message of not penalizing success and the POSITIVE message, as Tito put it "Anything is possible in America."

But somehow telling people the "bar is set to high, and when you get close to it, 'they' (whoever 'they' are) move it." You need Obama in order to make it, according to the liberals.

Funny, i thought all you needed was hard work and some more hard work, and then maybe a little bit of hard work. Seems to have panned out A. O. K for Obama, no?

Victor from MI   October 21st, 2008 9:34 am ET

jake747   October 21st, 2008 9:33 am ET

How sad and desparate. Let's just go out and find as many regular "joes" as we can who support our view, ignore all those who don't, and let's parade them as proof to vote for us.

Come on, when this country starts looking to people who have zero experience with governance for guidance, than we are in serious trouble. Luckily, it shouldn't work. Call me an "elitist" if you will, but I think the source of information is important and critical. If Joe and Tito are going to set policy, why not let actors build our buildings, or engineers make our movies, or construction workers teach our kids.

Socrates had a great lesson about the nonsense of relying on non-experts who think they know everything about everything, when they know little beyond their profession.

Please..someone..anyone..WHO is this JOE The Plumber we hear about all the time..From what I have read and heard..he is not a small business owner, nor a licensed plumper. That he has not paid his tax..hates social security tax..(wonder who takes care of his elderly relatives?? Not him for sure) and would actually benefit from Obama's tax plan. again..I repeat..he is NOT a small business owner. What is McCain trying to prove by making an Idiot out of this man and waving him around like a victory flag in every campaign speech? I for one am SICK of hearing this fairy tale!!! PS Oh yeah. Hank Williams Jr..I will never buy your music again.

Obama's new nickname should be LOSER. That is because he will lose this election.

Jim Schimmer   October 21st, 2008 9:33 am ET

We have a progressive tax system. If Obama's plan is socialism then our tax system is socialism.

Whats wrong with taxing the wealthest and redistributing wealth. The wealthy pay much less in % term that the rest of us that make <250K.

Palin is dumb and clearly does not understand how anything works.
Please wake up independents and make the right pick..

Our country is at the brink of failure.

Enough is enough. No more Bush like policies!!

Scott, Lexington KY   October 21st, 2008 9:33 am ET

Great – let's see how many BS labels Palin and her divisive campaign can come up with in the next 13 days.

That's exactly what this country needs; more labels, more derision, more fracturing of the country by fabricating the notion that there are those who are "Pro America" and those who are "Anti-America"

This is so sad.

Karibo Ken   October 21st, 2008 9:33 am ET

Barack the Wealth Spender. That doesn't make any sense.

WHY ISN"T ANYONE CALLING MCCAIN/PALIN ON THEIR SUPPORT OF SPREADING THE WEALTH??

-Palin's windfall tax on oil companies in Alaska
-McCain's support of Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid (he's on it!),
-McCain's support of the Financial Bailout!
-McCain's acceptance of $84 Million in taxpayer money to fund these attacks! Why is he using my wealth to spread his hate?

sue   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

The "Joe the Plumber's" of America don't make over $250,000 a year and won't see their taxes increase under Obama's plan.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be more and to have a plan to get there. (BTW – Joe the Plumber admitted on national television that he doesn't actually have a plan for purchasing the business he says he wants to have so IMHO he doesn't have a plan but a dream and dreams don't come true unless you have a plan and work it.)

However I also expect people who make more money to pay more in taxes than those who make less.

BatCat05   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

Hey Gov. Palin, How about just doing the right thing for "Common the American", we are sick of all of the titles and your childish pandering. Stand up for just "Everyday the American" and you and McSame would be doing better in this election PERIOD! GOD Bless Sen. Obama and his ailing grandmother. OBAMA-BIDEN, now that's the ticket!

lana   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

So the fat cats will have to pay more tax – so what!? Palin is apparently too stupid to realize that she is making Obama's case for him. 95% of workers will benefit from Obama and those rich Wall Streeters who love the GOP so much are the only ones who will have to spread a bit of their outsized incomes. Sounds good to me – go ahead and let's start spreading.

Shawn   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

some guy in New Hampshire   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

Now that the McCain campaign has found yet another way to ridicule the progressive tax system used in the US for the past century, I can finally begin to feel the economy recovering. What a pleasure to see candidates talking about things that really matter.

political guy   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

ridiculous nonsense. Teachers & bricklayers don't make nearly enough to have their taxes increased with Obama's plan. Just more lies and distortion from McCain/Palin. Now they're using regular folks as pawns for their nonsense. A new low? Election day can't come soon enough.

Palin, conservative right winged talk show host that spew hate.

Mike Basile   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

Is this all this Ms. Palin has to offer. I am growing tired of her ridiculous monikers and can't beleive she thinks that the voters of this country are buying into this. She has become a washed up comedian with only one joke to cling to.

greg in DC   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

Vote for Tina Fey before voting for this moron… Tito the Builder? Sounds a bit like Bob the Builder to me… Too much Pre-K TV for this nut! Lock her up for her own good!

A Senior Southern Lady - NC   October 21st, 2008 9:32 am ET

As a woman, I was excited about the thought of a woman vice president. However, Sarah Palin has been a terrible disappointment. She has little knowledge of the world, she is smart but not intelligent and her rallys have been nasty, mean-spirited and down right hateful.
For the many competent women that McCain could have selected, she is an amazingly bad choice. She may appeal to the far-right wing of the party but not to many Democratic women and Independents. She has given the women's movement's goal of moving into the higher areas of government a terrible blow and the thought of such incompetence one heart-beat away from the presidency is too terrible to imagine. This senior Independent's vote goes to Obama/Biden.

Chanda - Cincinnati   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

I find her beyond laughable at this point! Every economic expert has stated that McCains plans for the country will add 5.1 trillion to the national deficit. More than Obama's plan. I also find it funny that she is spewing this garbage to small town America, or in her words, the "real" America. These are people whos farms are being lost, factories, are closing, adn Obama's plan would benefit the most. But they are stuck in the 60s, and can't the forest for the trees. Go to youtube and search McCain/Palin rallies in Ohio. The level of ignorance exiting the mouths of some of those people is frightening. If they are what Average Joe, Joe Sixpack, and Joe the Plumber represent, then god help us all if JOE gets in office!!!!

Phil   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

Is there a consistent message from the McCain camp? It seems that everyday they have a new thing. It looks like they are still trying to find their way. Are they making that thing as they go along? For now I really have a hard time figuring out their solutions to the issues that we are facing. To their credit I know all the names they have used for Obama and all the "Joe" they have tried. I suspect that the last one will be "sloppy Joe". I betcha.

Rhoda   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

Sarah, Sarah, get a life!! You can call him what you want…..what are we going to call you?

Wes   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

John McCain has brought a totally unqualified ding bat into his fold who says nothing constructive about anything because she cannot and she is nothing more than a crank with a microphone doing nothing but bashing Barack Obama for reasons and reasoning drawn out of thin air. What is the diversionary word of the week today, socialist?

Can anyone on planet earth imagine this woman as President of the United States? We would become the laughing stock of the world!

Absolutely not and even though many on the right are now stating the obvious, that Sarah Palin was a desperate and ridiculous choice for VP she still gets her voice in front of our televisions and it is nothing but dangerous the devisions she builds with her high schoolish, student council like ways.

Triggidy   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

I am honestly getting tired of hearing about Joe the plumber, Joe the anything. We are all "JOE'S" of some sort, just ordinary people in a big Country. We don't need to be reminded every 3 seconds.

The more I listen to Governor Palin the more I realize she is NOT ready to be a VP let alone a President. I think she needs to go back to Alaska and Govern for the Joe's there.

No more name calling or labeling please! Just stick to the topics and give us details on what you will do to help the Country.

Randy, San Francisco   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

Palin is shouting into the wind. The GOP economic and culture talking points won't stick because Palin lacks crediblity and truthfulness. The message will be ignored because the messenger is not trustworthy.

First of all she doesn't know the difference between take your daughter to work day, and take your husband to work, let him sit in on your meetings, give him his own phone line and access to your staff to carry out personal vendettas. Maybe she's easily confused.

Unless Rose the Teacher and Phil the Bricklayer make over 250K their dreams will remain undashed under Obama.

For someone who throws her Christianity in everyones face, do you think Palin realizes that God and Jesus probably aren't fans of people who perpetually lie?

liberal mantra.

how about Barney Frank saying that "deficit fears need to take a 2nd seat"

Our government is the ULTIMATE bubble. We have spent way more than we make, and we are in for trouble.

But, hey, lets not worry about our debt and LETS KEEP SPENDING!!!!

Thanks, Barney, Nancy, Obama, Reid and co.

Stick your head up during an election cycle and the press is going to do some digging. "Joe the Plumber" was not smeared. They just did some checking and reported the truth. It's kind of like that old Harry Truman story. Someone once yelled at him "Give 'em hell, Harry!" To which he replied, "I just tell the truth and they think it's hell."

Connie   October 21st, 2008 9:31 am ET

My prayers and thoughts are with Senator Obama and his grandmother. I am sure hoping that Tito the builder is paying his taxes unlike Joe the plumber, if not it will come out. To all those like myself and John McSenile on Social Security and Medicare , remember that is a socialist program.Maybe John McSenile should repay that over nineteen hundred in Social Security he gets every month.Geo. Bush has given the wealthy the largest tax breaks to reinvest , what did they invest in ? Jeff   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

Palin cracks me up! She sits around all day coming up with nicknames and shooting moose, while our economy goes down the toilet, we spend $10 billion monthly in Iraq and continue to see our debt grow and grow and grow. She does not apparently have the ability to come up with any solutions. She just attacks. And speaking of Wealth Spender, what the hell does she think the Republicans have been doing for the past eight freaking years??? She is absolutely clueless and the biggest dunce on Earth, or at least she runs a very close second to "W". I am looking forward to this idiot to be flushed down the toilet by the American people on 11/4, along with her washed-up running mate.

Dave   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

Has there ever been a more polarizing speaker on the stump? It's what she's been asked to do, and she does it well, but she plays deep in the trenches.

Jessica in Florida   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

Yeah, if you show me a "Rose the Teacher" who makes over $250,000 a year you will be showing me an ivy league college dean or president. And "Phil the Bricklayer?" Phil would not be a bricklayer if he makes over $250,000 a year. He would be the owner of a company that likely operates throughout a state.

I think it is ridiculous that the whole "Joe the Plumber" thing is now a way to say Obama is not supporting small business or people who are just trying to a living. Now, I am on my way to getting my degree in education and you want to know how much I will make after 35 years of teaching? Roughly $55,000 a year. Now how believable does "Rose the Teacher" sound?

Mickie in PA   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

And that's the problem – McCain/Palin only have one agenda – sling the dirt and see how much of it sticks. Neither McCain or Palin ever give any details of his "plans to move forward". He doesn't both to tell "Joe the unPlumber" that McCain's plan to buy up mortgages will be financed by all the taxpayers and the banks will escape free and clear and the taxpayers will not get any return on the buyout. What a plan — less taxes for big corporations and more taxes for the little people. Platitudes are all Palin can remember for more than 5 minutes.

Palin is pathetic Dear God, I cannot wait until this election is over, so we finally do not have to hear anything more about Palin. Palin is the worst thing to ever happen to our great country in a VERY LONG time! McCain will regret choosing Palin to his dying day.

Jim in Bisbee   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

Obama isn't going after Joe the Plumber. I think it's only natural for the media, seeing a new and controversial face, to find out what they can – good and bad – about him. I see nothing cynical or evil in what they are doing.

The McCain/Palin campaign is digging their own grave, and Palin is in the process of destroying her political future.

Ex-mod-GOP for Obama   October 21st, 2008 9:30 am ET

You've got to be kidding.

Just two more weeks … Just two more weeks …

Ben   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Rose the Teacher? What teacher gets paid over $250,000 a year? And wasn't Joe the Plumber lying? I'm not saying the tax plan won't effect certain people…but seriously my wife and I live off of less than $30k a year and we're doing fine, I don't have much pity for someone making $250k a year getting taxed a bit more…

John in Ohio   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

They attack the media for attacking Joe The Plumber Who Is Neither Joe Nor A Plumber, but they are careful not to mention the unpaid back taxes and the lack of an actual plumbing license.

Who's Complaining   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

I wonder how effective all these names (e.g. Joe the Plumber, Tito the Builider, etc.) are for the McCain/Palin ticket? My guess, and I may be wrong, but most bricklayers, teachers, and plumbers will not be impacted by BO's tax proposal. That said, I don't understand McCain and Palin's strategy.

TKW- New Mexico   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Who cares what this broad says? She is not so bright anyway and she lies all the time. Can she go back to Alaska early?

Paul W   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Are you kidding? To all the "Joe the …" out there. IF you watched the debates did you remember once Senator McCain speaking directly to you about what he was going to do for you? No, Senator Obama brought up the fact that he is giving more money back to the wealthiest americans and he never refuted that either. So lets continue with give the rich more money to play with and maybe one day you will see a piece fall from the sky on you. Senator Obama is giving you real relief right now.

Glenn in California   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Is it just me, or does this annoying woman become more grating every day? She's unqualified and was just a gimmick for McLame to win the election at any cost.

I just hope the American public gives her what she deserves and sends her back to Wasilla on November 4th.

Chris   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

This is SO stupid. I'm Chris the Obama Voter.

foreigner in the US   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

How childish!!!!! Anyway I have one. Palin the clueless. Anyone with another?

KG, Twin Cities   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

KG the cube dweller would like the tax relief Senator Obama proposes. KG the cube dweller would like Gov. Palin to just pipe down.

A comment coming from Sarah the hypocrite!!!

Jeannie   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

She has no respect for him or for herself cause if you can't respect yourself how can you respect others.

Brain in DC   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Will they stop exploiting ordinary workers to use them as props in their campaigns? The McCain website now is soliciting self-made videos from anybody aspiring to be "Joe the …..". Are these and negative adds, labeling, and incorrect info all the McCain campaign can come up with?

Running out of ideas and out of time. Or out of touch?

AnaHadWolves   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Inane! Insulting! Immaterial! The paucity of ideas and dearth of coherence from Ms. Moose Queen of 1984 and her running mate bespeak a campaign at the end of its very short rope.

When their campaign come to a merciful end, I hope the Republican party will insult us no more with two such unprepared clowns in the future.

Pah!

ez   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Early voting is the way to go.

Why are so many Registered Republicans like me "voted" Obama/Biden 08?

Matt   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

"In the house"???? I think the rap skit from SNL has gone to her head.

TD   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

Rose the teacher makes more than $250,000?

ok   October 21st, 2008 9:29 am ET

CNN, this is very dump of you to report this nonsense. McCain/Palin campaign is going into trash for anything, be it recycle cans, or waste food but non of these works for them. We are tired of this, and the polls reflect this. Please NOV 4, why are you not here yet so these idiots will go away?

Bitter in Texas   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Oh…….Pleazzzzzzzzzzze, can we get the election overwith. I'm so tired of the Rethuglicans and all their attacks….but, what else do they have, No Plan, Same Old Things as the last 8 years, tax breaks for the RICH, and it goes on and on. Enough already!!!!!!!!!!!

Minneapolis Mikey   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Shouldn't it be "Barrack the Wealth Spreader" if you are following your own ticket's talking points (which you clearly are, instead of adding to the political discourse). If you are going to be a divisive political hack, at least have the decency to be consistent.

LET IT GO   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Who cares! McCain and Mrs Barbie is still going to lose.

TOM   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Really? Has it come to this? This is getting more and more child-like by the day. If you cant elequently express what you want to convey then get off the podium. I predict by this time next week they should be down to "NA-NA-NA NA-NA", what a sad campaign.

Mike   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Wow, continuing to mislead with a chorus of First Name – Occupation type individuals. How inventive. Now we will get the Republicans claiming the Democrats are instigating vetting "Tito the Builder", what a party. How about the Republicans truly vet "Sarah the Governor"?

The next two weeks can't go by fast enough.

Ron   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Socialism: Taking money from one group and giving it to another group. Sort of what Palin did to the oil companies in Alaska when she took their profits and gave it out to the citizens of Alaska.

Paula   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

name-calling will NOT solve our problems. Go back to Saturday Night Live, Sarah!

Matt   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

I have some nicknames for Palin that I'd like to share, but you wouldn't print them CNN. Not that this is exactly what I'd call polite company…

Sara against Sarah   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Palin should just take herself and her stupid antics back to Alaska…where NOBODY WANTS TO LIVE!

Not today!!!!   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

This woman is absolutely incredible….Incredibly UNQUALIFIED!!!

Jaime   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

The "nickname" calling and the "everyday Joe" presentations kid of smell like desperation.

Baze   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

This ticket just doesn't get it. Most Americans are stressed out about the state of the country, and spread the wealth sounds like a good idea. Then again, I think Palin is a "liberal" double agent, so perhaps this is a good thing after all

ONE NATION

emily   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

okay. now she's really trying too hard. before, it was kind of funny, maybe even a little cute (for the republicans, at least). but now, it's just pathetic and really annoying.

i wish she'd just shut it already.

Melba   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Thats nice… especially coming from Sarah the Liar.

Jonathan   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Her ignorance is stupifying

Jim Reynolds   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

If Rose, the teacher, makes more than $250,000/year, I want to teach at her school. I can speak for 99% of all teachers and professors and say that the Obama plan is much better for us. If Sarah and McSame want to go after that 1% who will benefit from their plan, that's their choice but they should do the math…

Obama '08

Greg in Mpls   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

John Smith III   October 21st, 2008 9:28 am ET

Kate   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

How about Sarah the Hypocrite, or Sarah the Spender of Ill-gotten Taxpayer Money?…who takes per diem payments from Alaskans to stay in her very own home? I cannot imagine a more blatant waste of taxpayers' money.

Matt   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

Good grief.

Just when I thought Palin couldn't get any more contrived, she surprises me yet again.

November 5th can't get here soon enough.

Robert   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

Keep the attacks up. The more you do, the more battlegrounds Obama wins.

Jeff, OR   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

I can't believe this. "Phil the bricklayer" and "Rose the teacher" are concerned about losing the American Dream because Obama plans to tax the wealthy fraction of people and businesses who net >$250,000? Concerned, when they are most likely in a tax bracket where they will benefit from Obama's plan? It's unbelievable. Palin is targeting the kind of person who is their own worst enemy.

I'd probably have said that anyone with the propensity to vote against their own self interests because they are distrustful of government or change, deserves what they get. Of course, that's before realizing that I am forced to be in the same bucket, with 8 years of Bush doctrines subtracting from my own American Dream as proof.

So PLEASE, people, don't be fooled again. Oppose the lies and do your own due diligence. You will find that Obama's tax plan, economic recovery plan, health care plan, education plan, energy plan, and foreign policies will all benefit you and this country in the end! Please, for your own good and everyone else's, look at the FACTs – and don't believe everything you hear, just because Sarah Palin says it!

Larry   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

I too own a business, and hope to accomplish my dreams, part of them is making a lot more than $250,000.00/year,this is America you know !!

McCain/Palin 08

Disappointed   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

Wow can the media please EXPLAIN to these people that it is not 250K gross being taxed but only if your NET INCOME EARNED is 250K are you taxed.

In a small business once you pay off other workers, expenses, and claim all tax credits most business owners will NOT earn 250K, even 100K is a lot.

Misinforming voters is same as lying to them, McCain/Palin are spreading LIES and misinforming voters ON PURPOSE! That is not Country First.

My cat's name is Tito so I thought this was a funny coincidence.

Obamaniac!   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

fat john   October 21st, 2008 9:27 am ET

All these little monikers that McCain and Palin are coming up with sound strangely familiar to me. They are like childrens books or something like that.
The voting public are adults so stop treating us like kids…. geeeeez !!!

TIRED OF MCCAIN AND PALIN   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

How about we give Palin a name.. PALIN THE ABUSE OF POWER. This lady is quick to label people yet the media is DID NOT COVER THE STORY THE SAME AS THEY DO BARACK… I'm getting tired of CNN reporting these ridiculous stories..

Ron   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Mr McCain

Please tell us about your plans for our failing economy. Please share your thoughts on world peace and helping the millions of hungry people in this world. How about a plan for seniors who can not afford health care when medicare fails to pay enough.

The mud slinging is sickening. In a time when people are losing their life savings and their homes, all you want to talk about is some guy who can't even pay his taxes to the American Government. In my eyes, Joe the plumber is a thief.

I will be voting Obama to send a message that we need to talk about the issue NOT mud slinging.

Joel, Norcross GA   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

You can call him all names you want that ain't gonna change nothing. 2 weeks from today it will be President OBAMA!!!!

KD   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Sarah the Beauty Queen and McCain the "get your bike off my lawn" Yeller, along with their best buds for life Dick Cheney the Criminal and GW the Buffoon have run this country aground. So, when their convenient exploitation of Joe the Plumber went awry after mentioning him 22 times in the debate, and it turned out he is not, in fact, Joe the Plumber but Joe the Plumbing Company owner who is unlicensed, they can't handle the truth; this, of course, is not surprising since they are the same Republican party that saw mirages of WMD's in Iraq and the benefit of allowing greedy wall street to go unregulated.

KS   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Yeah, teachers and bricklayers ALWAYS make over $250k. There is no way they can survive Obama's plan. Does Palin ever listen to herself?

Texas Trail Dog!   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Here is the more experienced woman telling you about OBAMA. Shes not only is more experienced she far prettier than any woman of the candidates or in congress. She is a wIse choice. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU FELLOW AMERICANS. DOES IT NOT SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF YOU BY YOUR VOTING A MAN OF OBMAMA'S BACKGROUND INTO THE OVAL OFFICE WITH THE COMPLETE CONTROL OF CONGRESS. WE WILL NOT BE DEMOCRATIC ANYMORE, SOCIALISM OUT THE WINDOW. CALL THIS A DICTATORSHIP.

Jordan in SC   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Seriously?! And I thought she was going to mention Bob the Builder….

If she is going to nickname Obama "Barack the Wealth Spender," I'm going to nickname her "Sarah the Executive Power Abuser." Maybe she should spend a little less time coming up with pet nicknames and a little more time figuring out what's she's going to do back in Alaska once Obama/Biden hand her her rear end here in a few weeks.

George w. McCain   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Maybe she should be known as "Palin the useless". Maybe she should be developing an actual campaign based on a factors that are useful to the people of this country. What a waste of time the whole McCain campaign has been.

Anne   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Just what we need at this time in the country, a way to divide the citizenry even further. Apparently, just dividing us between Republicans and Democrats wasn't enough now we want to divide us by career choice. We need someone to try to unite this country and at this time the neo-conservative Republicans are not the ones to do it.

Rache from Bowie   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Like the "plumber" tito is probably the guy who has to sweep up the construction sight at the end of the day. "The builder" –right!!!

Simon   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Too bad none of those people will earn over $250k a year. That's reality and they will actually benefit from his tax plan.
If a Plumber or Teacher or Brick Layer makes over $250k clear after taxes, i want those jobs. Good luck i say. Won't happen.

lovespaper   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Why doesn't someone just shut that piehole of Sarah Palin's? She is an utter disgrace, not only to women but to all humanity.

Chuck   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Call Obama what you want, but who is head in the polls. You need to head home for some good "ole" moose hunting.

Batonmommy   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

Is this elementary school? Good golly, making up names for people ended for me in the second grade.

alvino   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

For 8 years, we have watch Bush squander the wealth and well being of Americans. John McCain supported W at almost every juncture, including the socialist bailout. None of the people that Palin refers to would get a tax increase. McCain's program to give $5000 to people is a socialist program.

Jac   October 21st, 2008 9:26 am ET

This woman is atrocious. I cannot think of a better reason to vote for Obama/Biden then her. After Obama's landslide victory I can only hope that she fades back into the obscurity she came from.

Unfortunately she'll probably end up as a radio neocons sidekick…

Dan   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

When will the mcsame camp get the message that they screwed up by picking this idiot to be on their ticket. She only resonates with the right wing nuts of the gop and any one who used to think anything at all positive of mccane hates what he has turned into. She should take toad and go back to Alaska and get impeached.

Please stop with Joe the Plumber   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

It seems to me that Palin is only beating the dead horse. Joe the Plumber, just shouldn't matter, he isn't a licensed plumber, he owes over $1,000 in back taxes and yet he still is brought up by the McCain/Palin campaign why? This guy wouldn't have his taxes raised, because he hurts the rest of the people by not paying his. If people wonder why our taxes are so high, its because of the people who aren't doing their part putting an unfair burden on those people who do. This new "Tito the builder" whos dissapointed in the media has no right to be that way. The media has every right to look into the backgrounds of those who have been brought up on the campaign trail. Joe Wurzelbacher left himself open for this type of scrutiny, and he should've known not to do that when he had these pretty bad skeletons in his closet.

doug   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

JOe the plumber what a joke Joe is a fool who voted to give big tax breaks to the rich who make 5 to 6 times what he does. Joe vote for whats best for YOU NOW not 10 years from now.

Here is the Point   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

As long as the were talking about a story about the story …. Tito commenting on the fraudulent "Joe-the-Plumber", McCain loses.

John, what have you done for us lately?

You'd better tell us why do you deserve to win … not why does Obama deserve to lose.

Dave   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

This coming from Sarah the young earth creationist who thinks the earth is 6000 years old and that dinosaurs lived alongside humans.

Will somebody send this snowtard back to Alaska, please?

BT   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

If ANY one of those who claim that Obama's plan will do them more harm than good – HAVE NOT read his plan. It's very simple, even for SIMPLETON'S to understand. Read Obama's – then read McCain's. The truth speaks for itself. Do not bash what you clearly do NOT understand.

When John McCain brought joe the plumber to the forefront of America in last weeks debate – he himself, John McCain opened Joe to scrutiny. It was not Obama's fault that Joe is a liar. Joe did that all by himself. I DO NOT feel sorry for Joe even though he is a fellow Ohioan.

And for all of you idiots that think that Obama has a new flag with an "O" in it – it is the GREAT state of Ohio's flag… as Forrest Gump's mother said "stupid is as stupid does".

Run Obama Run! We need his common sense at a time like this.

Jennifer   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

what an Illiterate you are Palin. You have zero home training. You open your mouth and spit out venom when you talk lol. u sound so air headed. It must hurt you to see your fingers slipping away from the white house. You call obama a wealth spender? maybe you should read his bio and see how he has lived his life. how he lived a life without the laid out opportunities most white men and women had in america in the 60s. Maybe you can see how it is not easy to be where he is now and see that he does love this country more than u can imagine. It's people like yo that divide this great country of ours. Your husband is a sessionist and believes ALASKA isn't part of america. how Patriotic is that? Your own husband Sarah Palin. you should talk to him first about patriotism. Obama is a bright young man that has a vision to the future. If you insult obama..you are insulting america's Intelligence and tarnishing people's dreams in this country. If only bobby kennedy is alive to see all this.We all love america. not like you and your crowd that keeps dividing america into pro and anti america. This is such a nonsense.

Xavier, Saunt Louis, Missouri   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

Clueless Airhead Palin is at it again huh? Man, November 4th can't get her soon enough. I am so sick of this clown. Please GOP, come get your mutt with lipstick and take her back home!

M.H.   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

I still keep the standard nickname for Palin: Major Moron. I'm so ready to never hear from this woman again.

AKH   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

I hope Tito the Builder was vetted better than Joe and Sarah. Then again, reality doesn't much matter to the Republican base.

Ken in Dallas   October 21st, 2008 9:25 am ET

Palin should know all about socialism, since she used a 25% windfall profits tax in Alaska to buy votes. Palin has actually practiced the most corruptive form of socialism.

If a progressive tax structure amounts to socialism, then we are a socialist nation, and we may as well admit it, but nobody with any sense seems to think so.

Conclusion: Palin is not a sensible person.

Tom   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

LMAO…hypocrite…her record as governor clearly shows she can be quite the wealth spender too.

Rick S   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

this lady is delusional

etl   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Are we in 5th grade here? Please, tell us what you are going to do and how you will be a better VP. I am so tired of the name calling!

Iron Lady   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Yeah, because giving tax breaks for the wealthiest people in the country is obviously the most patriotic thing to do..

There are more unwealthy people than wealthy people in this country, and our nation was founded upon that.

Kate - Minneapolis   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

"“Barack the Wealth Spender” for his plan to offer tax credits to lower and middle-income wage earners."
Wait, so giving tax credits is a bad thing? Sorry lady but I think most of us are getting a little tired of waiting for the wealth to "trickle down".
I think the most interesting thing about "Joe the Plumber" and, now, this builder guy is that they would _actually_ do better under Obama than under McCain but I guess they would prefer that the rich keep getting richer.

michael   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

isnt it cute these pet names the republican machine uses to try and smokescreen us instead of dealing with the real problems. if i were one of these people i would be insulted and feel used. it doesnt matter they have already lost. thank god.

J. Banks   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Can Palin add anything besides attacks on Obama? That's all she's really good for right now.

Those little zingers won't do anything to make her an effective VP and at times I think it's her way to cover her faults–putting the spotlight on the opponent as opposed to actually talking about her qualifications. I'm growing a little weary of all the negativity.

johnrj08   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

This is coming from the governor of a state with less than 700,000 residents (one tenth the size of Los Angeles), and no state income tax, which mostly required her just to "distribute the wealth" earned by the oil companies. Between all that and her huge earmarks from the federal government, she comes from a state that is more socialistic than any other, yet she has the gall to call Obama a socialist.

Jorge   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Haven't working people figured out yet that under Republican regimes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That's not the kind of redistribution of the wealth we need.

John   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Perhaps Palin should focus more on relevant issues and less on coming up with nicknames and finding new GOP 'pets'. Joe/Sam the plumber is a fraud. Tito is a nobody. Then again, Palin's only talent thus far has been to come up with cutesy names. Sounds more like a Miss Alaska pageant and less a presidential campaign.

Mike the hard working American (fake America I guess according to Palin) has spoken.

Nov 4th   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

And I got a new name for you Sarah: 'Sarah the Disaster'

Irma in North Carolina   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Here you go again Sarah with the attacks. Dont you realize how Americans are getting tired of yours and Johns negative adds and speeches. If you guys are hurting so bad why dont you get Cindy out on the trail campaiging for you.

James Brisco   October 21st, 2008 9:24 am ET

Looks to me like we have another Paris Hilton commercial coming up, only this time it's about Palin.

Jean   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Is there no end to the moronic comments from Sarah the Stupid?

Retired Army in San Antonio   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Wow! The Republicans are now mad because the Obama's able to outspend them. Kinda ironic when you consider the spending advantage the Republicans have 'enjoyed' for decades.

Seriously…….I'm so tired of these clowns!!!

That One/Biden 2008

Candy West Virginia   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

I think I'll take Barack's distribution of wealth whatever she or they want to call it over mccain's distribution to the wealthy like the last eight years which did nothing for me or this country except bankrupt us and get us into more debt. Call it want you want sarah, lie about all you desire, but I'll take it.

BA   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Name calling is no substitute for content. I haven't heard anything of value from the Republicans. They have been really good at mudslinging.

MidWest Mom   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

This woman makes me sick, I can't wait until November 4th. You would think someone with the nickname Sarah"baracuda" would back away from the nickname game.

McWho??   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

This lady is downright ridiculous. This campaign is down right ridiculous. With talking points like these their target demographic must be mentally numb? How is Obama to be blamed for Joe the plumber debacle. McCain was the one who saw it fit to invoke him for his own political advantage turned out contrary to his initial intent.

independent4obama   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Can you dumb it down a little more Sarah?

ABSOLUTELY NO OBUMMER!!!   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Small business owner who is against wealth redistribution as promoted by Obummer! It is UN American. You wouldn't agree either if you worked hard to get to this place and is was taken in order for someone else who didn't earn as much or work as hard to have more. It's WRONG!!!! And you people know it. You are looking for a HANDOUT!

Colin   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Is she serious? Sometimes I wonder if she is actually cognizant .

Kelly   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Since when have we started making the average guy off the street a national hero just to get elected? Americans are obsessed with this american idol craze, starting with Gov. Palin.

Jon   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Obama would lower taxes for Joe and Tito. McCain would do nothing for Joe and Tito. It's to their own detriment if they don't realize that.

Beth   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

How about Sarah the Wealth Spender? We all seem to forget the juicy checks that every resident of Alaska get because of windfall oil profits… oh wait, that's not spreading the wealth, that's not socialism. And how about her husband, the former member of the Alaska Independence Party. He must be a real American, according to her.

worriedmom   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Is Barrack gonna whine about that also??? Seems he can dish it out but you better not say anything back to hurt his feelings or you will be investigated and smeared by his thugs! By the way, I am finally glad that CNN decided to air about VP candidate Joe Biden warning Americans that if Obama is elected within 6 months we will be tested with international crisis!! Geez just what we want to hear that we will be in danger because the other countries know we will have a weak President and to state that the decisions Obama will make will not be a popular one . Guess all you LIberals and Demo's better be prepared to be disappointed. Seems Biden is trying to tell you guys something! I sure got the point!! CNN why take so long to inform your audience of this seriousness!!!

zack   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

this woman is running on empty. I feel bad for her.

Alex   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Uhhhhhhhhh…… what? Is this lady serious? This campaign has been utterly surreal. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up back in September and McCain will pick Romney or Pawlenty or even Leiberman. This woman is a joke.

Garrison, Tukwila, WA   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

oh well. everyone has been downsizing anyway, so I suppose if you are one of the lucky few who make 250,000 or more, simply adjust! it might hurt a little, but I hope you understand that the state of the union does not revolve around you and only you.

Shane from LB   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Not surprised McCain/Palin continues name calling instead of articulating plans for the economy. Oh-wait, it's hard to articulate a plan that doesn't exist!

Jim D   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Here's a new nickname for Palin:

"Washed up Caribou Barbie, whose national political aspirations come to an end, for good, in 2 weeks."

Mike NYC   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

So is this how they are going to portay all americans if they get elected.

By giving them a label and generalizing them?

Tim in NC   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

That funny…

Caaase I seem to recall YOUR running mate "spending the wealth" when he signed that $700 billion dollar bail out bill…

Whats the difference between Sarah Palin and brainless hypocrit… nothing!

John in Ohio   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Bob the Builder says:
"8 years of trickle-down Bush economic policies mean nobody is paying me to build new buildings and now I'm out of work! Can we fix it? YES WE CAN! Vote Obama!"

Gary   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Joe the Plumber, Tito the Builder, Sarah the HasBeen, 2 more weeks
and she can go back to Alaska. I see they're starting an investigation for witness tampering in the Troopergate case.
This woman is so pathetic. She just keeps spewing her lies.

R-Howard   October 21st, 2008 9:23 am ET

Talk about the POt calling the Kettle Black, this from someone that execpted over a Billion dollers in earmarks for her state in the first 20 months in office. She has even spent millions, tens of millions on roads that will never be used. How is this fiscal responsability? She is a liar and very much on the ledge in regards to starting a race riot or many race riots with here Hateful, Racist pandering. In the truest sense of the word she is a danger to America !

Barbara - 65 yr old white female in NC   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

Sarah the "Power Abuser" has no right to call anyone anything. This woman has done more in 7 weeks to divide this country than anyone ever in my lifetime. She needs to go back to Alaska with her AIP-loving husband and leave us alone.

She's not fit to lead the 600,000 Alaskans, and definitely NOT the 300 million AMERICANS. We need unity, not negative division.

CJW   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

Only low-information republican voters fall for this lie.

WHEN – WILL— REPUBLICANS —REALIZE —THAT —PARTY —IS— FOR —THE —WEALTHY???

How can they not understand that Obama offers them THREE TIMES the tax cuts that McCain offers??????

It's really not complicated.

Dee   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

Wow..that is just as funny as when she was on SNL….NOT!

Gtnaustin   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

What a pathetic, deparate woman. Being THAT pathetic is such an unattractive quality. Can you imagine this woman running our goernement???

Lou from CT   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

LIke Ritter said in "clear and Present Danger" -

"You see – there you go again…"

Once again, we have lies, distortion, "CREEP-like","Splatter theory", and "Swift Boat" tactics from the Republicans. They drag out the same tired rhetoric about Obama raising taxes (Hey Palin – why don't you surf to factcheck.org to see that statement is FALSE). The Republicans are good at one thing – making you afraid of the opposition. They can't/won't talk issues – they use slander. let's stop them in their tracks NOW.

Obama/Biden 2008

Mike D   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

You go Palin, those poor poor millionaires, how DARE barack try to tax them 3% more!!!! TAX CUTS FOR CEO'S ARE PRO-AMERICAN!!!

Elizabeth   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

Please, no more. You just really need to stop, Palin.

likklebit   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

i honestly cannot stand this dumb lady! i really cant!!!

NUTTO's   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

when did Rose the Teacher, Phil the Bricklayer, Tito the construction worker and average Joe's everywhere start earning $250,000 or more a year?

I really think American is drunk on stupid if THESE PEOPLE actually believe Obama is RAISING THEIR TAXES.

of course, McCain is speaking ONLY to people making OVER $250,000 a year when he tells them Obama wants to take THEIR money and spread it around, but the majority of McCain's base DOESNT make that kind of money…so why do they think HE is TALKING TO THEM???

Another Democrat for McCain   October 21st, 2008 9:22 am ET

Good, I hope Palin doesn't stop there either!

Mark   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Oooohhhh…she's os clever!

Ron   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

How are "Rose the Teacher's" dreams going to be dashed by a tax cut–unless she teaches at a school that pays her more than $250,000 a year?

cv   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Please stop covering Sarah Palin until she decides to do a press conference.

Paula in the middle of the country   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

I am a little tired of "Sarah the spinner" how about some plain honest straight talk, instead of all the cutsie small titles. Hmmm, could it be that Sarah can't talk about the real issues. Could it be that Sarah just can't spin the issues of "Senator McCain the millionaire".

Never let them see you sweat....   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Question….

DOES ANYONE STILL CARE ABOUT PALIN????

Just asking.

James   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Palin the half-baked moron.

Jim from Middletown, CT   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Obama won't be spending my wealth, since I haven't been able to accumulate any in the last eight years. He may spend your wealth, Sarah, and he certainly will be spending Johnny's and Cindy's. Two more weeks and you can recede into history, finally.

John in Ohio   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Two questions.

Is she retarded?

Does she think we are retarded?

Beth   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

I AM SO TIRED OF SARAH PALIN AND HER ATTENTION-GRABBING ANTICS. She's not running for vice-president, she's running a grown-up version of a middle school popularity contest where she resorts to telling lies and falsehoods, pointing fingers, and disrespectful namecalling (just like a middle school student would) instead of being constructive and extolling her running mate's virtues and plans. Oh wait, that's because John McCain doesn't have anything good to say. He wouldn't know how to fix the economy with two hands and a calculator. Send the beauty queen home!

Rob   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Doesn't matter because on Nov 5 – Obama can her Sarah the Loser.

Jen, Gainesville   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

The McCain campaign is exploiting the intelligence of some American voters by labelling the opponent to prevent them from thinking using their own heads. Traditional politics. How sad!

Accountant Guy   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

That is hilarious that Eskimo Barbie is trying to trash talk. Why don't you talk about how you were found guilty of abusing your power and being unethical. We don't want you here, so just pack it up and go back to Alaska, and drop McBush back in Arizona on your way out!!

Obama/Biden '08

Katherine   October 21st, 2008 9:21 am ET

Hm…someone needs to tell her she's not as clever as she thinks she is.

Amy   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

Because we know calling names shows you're ready for the 2nd most powerful job in the world – NOT!!

Sarah, grow up and show some maturity…please.

TyWebb   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

Obama should have a new slogan for Sarah – "You can't spell Sarah Palin without L I A R". November 4th can't get here soon enough!

Team America   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

The truth hurts.

McCain/Palin '08

Mike   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

Why do we even have to report what stupid things she says…. John must be so upset he can't even tell her to be quiet…. 2 more weeks and it will all be over…. thank god

Blue By You   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

I have a nickname for Palin. "Sarah the Dope"

scott   October 21st, 2008 9:20 am ET

Joe the Plumber, Tito the Builder, Barack the Wealth Spender…

They all sound like action figures. Why wouldn't I want one?

Jared   October 21st, 2008 9:19 am ET

Just how dumb is she? Good grief… God Help America.

andy   October 21st, 2008 9:19 am ET

does it matter that all of these people would receive more money under obama's tax plan than mccains? people are voting against their own interests because they're either too lazy or too stupid to understand the policies.

Carlos   October 21st, 2008 9:19 am ET

After she spent and leaved IN DEBT he town of Wasilla in Alaska, using the people's money for a stadium, I really doubt she has any moral grounds to criticize Obama. She also redistributes the profits from oil in Alaska, talk about socialist… that woman has no shame !!!!

ConsiderThis, FL   October 21st, 2008 9:19 am ET

"Sarah the JOKE"

John B. From New Hampshire   October 21st, 2008 9:19 am ET

ok, so she says he is giving tax cuts to lower and middle income voters… then says they can't survive a tax increase? isn't this a bit of talking out of both sides of her mouth? Which is it miss "abuse of power" palin?

Jen B   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

I agree, "Everything is possible in America", which is why we have an incompetent ignoramus running for VP on the Republican ticket.

Katy   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

Dear Sarah Palin,

WE DON'T GOT NO WEALTH.

Love,
Katy

Turnabout is fair play   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

Yeah, and we call you Sarah, the MILF spunker.. What an airheaded bimbo. Just T & ragged out A..

Common Sense   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

Rose the teacher, Tito the builder, Joe the Plumber and Phil the bricklayer would all benefit under Barack's plan. Fact.

Jeez   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

Give it up. You really have lost it.

BJD   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

Wow, she's so witty (or, more likely, her speech writers). Again, any actual ideas, Palin and company?

Obama's campaign doesn't need to "investigate" "Joe the Plumber," that's already been done by the media. He's not a licensed plumber, he would be eligible for Obama's tax cut (he wanted to buy the company for $250K+, that's not his revenue), and he's behind on taxes. If the GOP wants a guy who doesn't pay his taxes and would benefit from Obama's tax cut to carry their campaign, more power to them. Yikes.

Independent from CT   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

"Tito the Builder", etc……..I swear it's like Politics for Dummies or something. Very strange. You are truly a repugnant individual, Sarah. I pray for your soul.

james in s.c.   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

i wish palin would shut about joe the plumber stuff, this whole thing is nothing but lies, apparently she is fed on with the telepromter and sound bites.

y'all get out AND vote early!!!

OBAMA -BIDEN 08

Bob Indianapolis IN   October 21st, 2008 9:18 am ET

“So tell me,” Palin asked. “Do we have any Joe the Plumbers in the house? So all these Joe the plumbers in the house, it doesn’t sound like you are supporting Barack the Wealth Spender in this elections.”

Golly! You mean all The Joes who don't have a plumber's license, and owe back taxes? My First Dude would like to recruit you into our army of Seccessionists, the Alaskan Independence Party!

Once we quit being American, we can share all the oil profits! You Betcha!

Viv   October 21st, 2008 9:17 am ET

Palin is a ninny.

And the way these people are milking this Joe the Plumber is getting on my nerves. Seriously? Do the Republicans have ANY real talking points? Or do they just make stuff up based on what's in the news that week?

proud army and navy mom   October 21st, 2008 9:17 am ET

could Palin be any ridiculous and childish?

This is the new leader of the Republican Party. Pitiful representative!

Concerned Citizen   October 21st, 2008 9:17 am ET

Huh!!!???????? Rose the teacher??????? Boy, I wish that teachers actually made over $200,000 per year, but guess what Palin, they DON'T. Therefore, Rose the teacher, Tito the construction worker, and all those other people Palin and McCain are exploiting for their campaign stand to GAIN under Obama and LOSE under McCain.

Other than Sarah Palin, is there seriously one single American so ignorant and so blinded by his or her right-wing conservative ideology as to think that a McCain presidency would actually be better for working people than Obama?

Edmund   October 21st, 2008 9:17 am ET

How about "Barack the Liar?" Suits him better. Obama lied abot his relationship with Ayers, and there is now indisputable proof. I'm surprised CNN, in al due "fairness and accuracy," isn't reporting it. Shame on you!

Turning the page   October 21st, 2008 9:16 am ET

Two words: Katie Couric!

Nic Ledoux, Burlington VT   October 21st, 2008 9:15 am ET

Because heaven forbid wealthy individuals help out in this country. They wouldn't want their hands to get dirty now would they?
