Rendell wants Obama to come back to Pennsylvania.
Rendell wants Obama to come back to Pennsylvania.

(CNN) — Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has sent two separate memos to the Obama campaign in the past five days requesting that the Democratic Presidential candidate—as well as Hillary and Bill Clinton—return to campaign in Pennsylvania, Rendell told CNN's Gloria Borger.

Rendell said the McCain campaign is clearly making a push to win Pennsylvania, given the recent visits by the Arizona senator, his wife and his running mate. As a result, he wants Obama to appear in western Pennsylvania, Harrisburg and one more “large rally” in Philadelphia. Democrats generally worry that the race is significantly closer than what recent polls have suggested. According to Rendell, there is also worry among Democrats the McCain campaign has successfully raised the enthusiasm level among Republicans in the state.

“I don’t want to be selfish,” Rendell said. “But I’m still a little nervous, so I have asked Obama to come back. We understand he’s got demands from 20 different states, but we’d like to see him here.”

Obama's support appears to be weakest in the western part of the state, a region Pennsylvania Rep. Jack Murtha recently called 'racist,' and one where he badly lost to Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary.

Obama last campaigned in Pennsylvania on October 11, a week and a half ago. VP candidate Joe Biden made an appearance with Bill and Hillary Clinton in Scranton on October 12. McCain and running mate Sarah Palin have both made visits to the state this week.

The latest CNN poll of polls in Pennsylvania suggests Obama holds a 13 point lead over McCain there. CNN currently considers the state leaning Obama.

It;s critically important that those who support Obama get out the vote for him. McCain can't win unless he takes Pennsylvania and Obama for that matter would have to carry multiple battleground states to make up the deficit. I agree support for Obama in Pennsylvania is softer than the polls suggest. Don't get complacent-VOTE!

Yes, I watched Palin/Biden debate and have been watching SNL, in fact love it more than I have since college days. I am not watching it because I like Palin. I think she is a complete joke and would vote for Tina Fey before Palin and would never vote for Fey for VP. The millions who are watching SNL are laugh AT Palin. We watched the debate in part because we expected her to make and idiot of herself.

Campbell Brown dismissed Roland Martin questioned concerning the Senator that made the remark that there are area's in PA that are REDNECK in the T zone of PA. I am from PA and the state has areas that are indeed full of dislike of Africian Americans. Governor Rendall knows there may be a real problem within these areas and Obama should return to PA and try to change the minds of those whom would even think of voting for McCain and Palin. Campbell Browm may want to swept the notion of the Senators comments under the rug but trust me PA has many area's that are REDNECK.

Obama backs equal pay for equal work …. McCain fought against this legislation.

Do you think women are stupid?

This is an issue that ALL working women ( democrat, independent or republican) understand and virtually NONE of them will be on your team's side …. Mrs. Palin.

I won't even go into the other anti-women tones that have come out of the McCain campaign (adultry, the biker rally, the rape kits, the rape comment out of Texas, etc. etc.)

I BEG the people of Pennsylvania to not vote for McCain and Palin. Please vote for Obama. I don't live in a swing state. My vote will not determined the future course of this great nation. Yours will. For the sake of my two children and all of us, please please steer us toward a future.

Sam   October 21st, 2008 8:38 pm ET

Although Rendell has good intentions, I think that the reason he is nervous is because he attended too many Clinton rallies in the primary season. He'll be just fine there.

Paige   October 21st, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Barack's campaign leaked that he's only two points ahead in PA. Given John Murtha's comments, I don't think Obama can count on western PA. It's too bad the Dems are trying to use "white guilt" to win votes for Obama. That usually has the reverse effect.

Devon Spencer   October 21st, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Pennsylvania is going to Obama, nothing to be nervous about.

"Excuse Me"–I'm sorry, but it's hard to be specific because there are so many lies. I'm sure you've heard all the McCain/Palin attacks. Obama is not a socialist. He won't raise your taxes. He doesn't have ties to terrorists.

It's hard for me to remember all the lies they've told. Maybe someone can help me out. Basically, every time Palin opens her mouth, she lies. Just last week didn't she say that she'd been cleared of abuse charges in Alaska? Another lie.

vanessa   October 21st, 2008 8:32 pm ET

OBAMA WILL WIN PA AND HE WILL WIN NOV. 4. PAILIN HAS THE NERVE TO CALL OBAMA A SOCIALIST WHEN SHE HAS CHARGED ALASKA ALMOST 30,000 DOLLARS OF TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR HER KIDS SAYING THE KIDS WERE ON "OFFICIAL BUISNESS"! MCCAIN IS A HOT TEMPERED LOON AND PAILIN IS AN IDIOT!

OBAMA/BIDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FL Rep for Obama   October 21st, 2008 8:30 pm ET

According to McCain, he needs to go back to PA just to cheer on the Phillies since yesterday he cheered for the Rays. LIES! I was there…he didn't support either team…but BOTH! I'd like to see Obama return to PA, OH, NC, FL, CO and NV. First, he must take care of his grandmother. Then, his managers will take care of his travel schedule. Our job…VOTE…which I did today in FL for OBAMA!

With Obama, mitchelle, Joe and his wife, Bill and Hillary they can sweep the nation to stump for more votes while the MCcain/Palin are pointing fingers, mocking Obama, and staying on the same attack mode they been in for months.

Proud Pennsylvanian   October 21st, 2008 8:27 pm ET

I've lived in Montgomery county for most of my life, and I'm not ready to declare it for Obama. Even though I live in a very liberal leaning community, the state is not all like that. In the last two elections, the state ultimately went to the Democrat, but they were both nail biters! I hope that get out the vote campaigns in often overlooked areas like Chester will boost voter turn out and help Obama.

And to all you "undecided" voters out there–how on God's green earth have you not decided yet??!!!! I'm sick of hearing about ambivalent social conservatives or angry libertarians or Wal Mart moms or any other other string of nouns and adjectives that we call a voting block. Hurry up and decide so we can stop talking about you!

Regardless, Obama has my vote in Pennsylvania : )

bill for barack   October 21st, 2008 8:27 pm ET

13 points isa definite lean alrighty.
But the Republicans are notorious at trying to steal elections by taking away Americans' right to vote.

Jim   October 21st, 2008 8:26 pm ET

I am a little perturbed to continuously hear you slam Pennsylvania as racist. My father used to say that everything south of the Canadian border is the deep south. His American experience was much different than mine.

I spent the better part of the 80's living and working in PA. I was a sales rep and called on small businesses all over the state. Are there rednecks in PA? As, perhaps, the only African American to sponsor two champions in the Lancaster County Tractor Pull I can say, without equivocation, that there are rednecks in PA. I am so close to some of em that my wife's relatives think I am a redneck. There are racist in PA too. I vividly recall the few encounters with public displays of racism that I encountered. My recollection is so vivid because on each occasion I received the overwhelming support of anyone else that was near by.

Will race prevent Obama from winning PA. – NO So please stop beating my brothers in PA up about being poor rednecks that are too dumb to know that They are broke and it might be time to give the other party a shot.

My State Is Blue! Yours Can Be Too!   October 21st, 2008 8:24 pm ET

I don't live in PA. I used to. I live just over the line.
I think PA is going Blue. I don't think he should stop there. I think he needs to stay in FL, VA, OH, MO and NV. He is leading by double digits in PA. I think to return again would be a time waster. Plus the Obama Camp in my state makes campaigns here and in PA daily.
He shouldn't take anything for granted but there are more critical must win states besides PA.

MEP   October 21st, 2008 8:24 pm ET

Ed Rendell is famous for looking out for and taking care of the citizens of Pennsylvania– the Obama campaign would do well to take his advice.

John, like his wife, is a thief. He stole Barack's message and he stole Barack's colors. His McCain signs were dark, navy blue. Now all of a suddent they are lighter.

This man doesnt' have one creative original thought in his head. Bush tells him what to say and Barack tells him what to do.

Change, we've already had it because both Hillary and McCain have changed their politics to run against Barack Obama.

Buy up all the presidential paraphanalia because the first black president is about to change the history books.

Wendy   October 21st, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Governor Rendell is a popular figure in PA and he should be spreading a positive message to the people of PA how their lives will get better with Senator Obama compared to Senator McCain. He should also remind the people that the problems that we are having in America today did not start 3 weeks ago but 8 years ago when George Bush became president. John McCain may not be George Bush but his ideologies are basically the same. And God forbid if anything happens to him and make him incapacitated at any point, Sarah Palin would be a danger to us all.

Steve in Merced   October 21st, 2008 8:12 pm ET

Hmm,..You notice that Obama's grandmother refers to him as "Barry?"
Ever wonder about that? Ever wonder why he wrote a book about his father who had nothing to do with raising him? Sounds like Obama doesn't know where his allegiance is. Sounds like another notch in the belt of questionable decision this ego maniac has made. Wonder what and how many more questionable decisions he'd make as president. He is scary.

I'm getting worn out sitting on the sidelines and convincing friends & relatives "GO OBAMA/BIDEN 2008″ – I don't care for all the hateful lies that the GOP is spreading and no good can come from it. anxious for something new and different? Would you slap your hard earned dollars down on the counter, sign on the dotted line and cross your fingers before driving away in a vehicle that looks good but has not really been broken in yet and may conceal serious problems, which in turn may cost you big bucks down the road? Would you act on impulse and drive off in a vehicle you only heard run for a very short time because everyone else is chanting "GO FOR IT". I strongly urge each and everyone of you to "Pop" the hood and check what's inside. There are too many things about this man and his connections that cause me to distrust him. Why would he request that Obama come back to Pennsylvania? Obama already has the election won. He obviously isn't reading the paper. There is no reason for anyone to vote. The media has already decided the election.

I find it ironic that many of the people who are criticizing Senator Obama for not being experience and thus not ready to be president are the same ones that cannot run an organization to be elected. Look at all of the various individuals that were (losers in the primaries/caucuses) and are (Senator Obama and Senator McCain)contending to be president, only Senator Obama has so far maintained an effective organization that has gotten the job done and have been able to raise the money necessary for an effective campaign.

Still nervous about Pennsylvania? I wonder why – Obama called them bitter, gun-toting, religious fanatics and Murta called them racists, oh, excuse me, rednecks. WHen Hillary won Pennsylvania she didn't call people names. That's why she won. Obama and his cohorts think they can call people names, pander to the professional sport teams and get away with it. No wonder Pennyslvania is dubious.

Georgia Gal   October 21st, 2008 7:22 pm ET

McCain and Palin have tried about everything….fear, terrorist, and now socialist. Both McCain and Palin hope these ploys sway the voters away from the economy issues. Let's see if Americans fall for this when their pensions, retirement and savings accounts are dwinkling away rapidly.

Ronda   October 21st, 2008 7:20 pm ET

Well PA, it might be all up to you. Who will turn out & vote in your state? The REAL Americans that Palin likes to chum up to, or the FAKE Americans?

Well, I have news for you Palin. I am an AMERICAN. PERIOD. I certainly do not need you to mislabel me or question my patriotism.

Also, Ms. Palin, quit calling me a socialist. I am a DEMOCRAT and proud of it! Jefferson founded our party. Are you calling the writer of the constitution a socialist? Do you even know what a socialist is? Look to the top of your own ticket for a true socialist. He wants to socialize the bank losses and privatize profits.

More people watched her because the dems look at all possibilities and the repubs see things one way. Paris Hilton gets huge viewings also. It doesn't mean they like her.

As for Palin and her pro-American anti-American views…. I don't think she actually paid attention to the elections until she was asked to run. She didn't seem to know what was going on at all and seemed very surprised about the Ayers fiasco. After all her husband was in the separatist and she was /is very pro-Alaskan. That is her motivation.

When jobs and industry return to western Penn, people will see what change will do. I always say " you don't have to like me, but we must find our happy medium and our common ground.' Our common ground is a prosperious and working America. A Obama/Biden looking America. So the home of the 'deer hunter' is much better then the home of the 'Moose'.

There are 13 days remaining before election day. There is enough time to divide up for a cross country world-wind type of rally stops. If the Govenor of the state is asking for Team-Obama to return, I do think it would be prudent for Senator Obama to oblige him/her. It will not hurt to show the people of Pennsylvania that he has regards for their Governor seeing that Pennsylvanians will also help to make him president. Having Senator Clinton and Bill Clinton along will be a show of unity and can only help in strengthening his organization's effort on the ground. Thus I agree with Governor Rendell.

Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for Obama, the rest of the state for McCain, simple as that.

Even Joe Biden thinks Obama isn't ready and all of America is going to have to support him. Sorry, but if you can't hack it on day 1, then you have no right being President. No wonder 70 countries want Obama to be leader of the free world. They know he won't do jack, when it comes to foreign policy. Just wait for Russia to start dropping bombs on the states and have Obama making a phone call asking them to stop. Leave the fate of our country in the hands of an inexperienced smooth talker and see where we end up in 6 months.

Amazing. Simply amazing. Obama's surrogates raise the race flag, and McCain is blamed for it. McCain actually chides a supporter for mischaracterizing Obama, and it is McCain who is called hateful. Obama supporters ignore the vile mistatements, distortions and outright lies from the Obama campaign. Here's hoping that PA does the right thing and sends Obama back to the corrupt confines of dirty Chicago politics that formed him and to which he still dearly clings.

Machiavelli, Baton Rouge, LA   October 21st, 2008 7:04 pm ET

Is liberalism a dirty word? I think not; I think it is relative because it depends on where we are in time and how history will judge that time. Eight years ago, America saw it fitting to embrace conservativism because Republicans labeled the Democrats as the friend of Satan. Democrats supported abortion rights, wanted gun control, and were weak militarily.

Enough Christian right-wingers flooded to the polls to put George W. over the top in two elections. Eight years later I ask, "Is conservativism a good word? Judging by where we are in time, I think not. We are embroiled in two wars–none of which we are winning unless you judge winning by Republican standards. Our economy is in turmoil, and people are losing their homes in record numbers.

At this point in time, I think it is fitting to consider ourselves liberals if we want to take back Washington and put our country on the right track. In other words, vote Democrat.

Barely a mention of his ties to the racist minister. All of the "fact checks" have gone Obama's way. Can we really believe hes always right? Wrong! Last election I voted for Kerry, before that Gore, so dont be calling me a right winger. I'm not, but I call it the way I see it. The medial is terribly biased both ways. Where is the non biased media? Thats where I want to read the news.

Alex   October 21st, 2008 7:02 pm ET

To Olivia:

By saying "IF ACORN CAN HAPPEN, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.", what exactly do you mean? The Repubs are throwing around the organization's name like it's the American branch of Al Qaeda, but really, what exactly have they done in this election that is unfair or illegal? Telling election officials "We think these registrations might be false, so double check them"?? Asking the FBI in to investigate the minor administrative discrepancies that result from a few irresponsible workers trying to fake it for a paycheck? Inviting John McCain to speak at their events.

I think it's being harped on because, well, ACORN is a word that the Republican base can remember and repeat ad nauseum, they might even have a few in their backyards to remind them!

"Can't we all just get along"

Cee   October 21st, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Another Liberal sucking up in fear of his job !

Can't the public see what's happening to the USA? We are succoming to a fear factor. Fear that we will be "labeled," fear that we won't get the "change" we think we should have. Don't you all know that you are looking for PIE IN THE SKY ? It isn't there. You will end up PAYING dearly for this election.

FACT: FIRSTS don't beat experience. Pride in America and the AMERICAN way of Life are what's needed.

Charlie Bradley   October 21st, 2008 6:53 pm ET

I don't think Barack is in any danger of losing PA. He needs to come to Georgia–not to Atlanta but small-middle town Georgia and show these yahoos down here that he is the right man for the job. I am constantly on a crusade in the online edition of my city's newspaper to try and show the people WHY Obama is the right man for the job but typical Repuglican supremacy seems to win out. It's hard to be blue when everyone around you is red.

OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gracey, MI   October 21st, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Rendell has been a straight shooter, since the primaries. If he wants Barack to go to PA, I think he should go. This country is experiencing something it's never experienced before as far as elections are concerned. Pennsylvania is important, so I hope Barack will go and I hope the good citiizens of PA, will give him a chance.

About Fox: I'm shocked at what I see on fox.com comments. I don't mean the narrow mindedness and hate spilling from a good portion of posts. I mean the dirty words and cussing posted where it should be moderated and requires user account and login! The reason I'm posting this here is that after reading some of these I don't want to "register" my info there to get an account and post.

I'm disappointed at what Fox is permitting which they can be sued for. And hoping that these hateful improper sentences represent a small minority of the people of this great country. Thanks CNN.

Former Republican ~   October 21st, 2008 6:52 pm ET

Someone commented on straight ticket voting in NC not counting the Presidential vote– I was surprised so did some checking. They're correct!

From the web:

"Some background: North Carolina is one of only two states in the country where straight-ticket voting does not count a vote for president. For example, if someone marks the box to vote straight-ticket Republican — but doesn't also tick off a vote for John McCain at the top of the ballot — McCain won't get a vote." Same would go for Democrats & Obama.

SO– NORTH CAROLINIANS– if you vote a straight Democratic ticket, be sure to vote for Obama too!

Tannim   October 21st, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Rendell is being overly cautious. Obama is up 52-40 in PA, and 364-171 -3 (ND) is the EV projection at the moment.

Stick the fork in McCain, he's past done. Just make sure that the final basting is done at the ballot box.

True   October 21st, 2008 6:51 pm ET

What can he do for racists???
They should be left alone and if they are many, then let Obama loose PA and look for another state such as Florida
It is shame to see such things in the 21 century

I do feel for all Americans in this election. As a Canadian we pay higher taxes but have health care and it is worth every penny. We don't have shows like Lou Dobbs,Sean Hannity,Rush Limbaugh that are haters and dividers of Obama or any one party.Seems to me the actual tax hike is minimal compared to the disaster McCain and Palin would bring on.There must be a poll with 90% of the world knowing Obama would bring back respect internationally for the US.If you vote for McCain you are voting for Palin to be President and that is just whack.

DM   October 21st, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Obama is going to be tested because we already have a crisis (you may have noticed this little financial thing that's been going on).

Sure, millions of viewers tuned in to see Palin in the debates and on SNL. They wanted to see her crash and burn. She disappointed these folks, but they certainly aren't going to vote for her.

President Palin scares the crap out of me. Just what we don't need–someone who thinks God put her in office to oversee the "End of Days."

Stacey, AZ   October 21st, 2008 6:49 pm ET

I've been giving this a lot of thought, and I've come to the conclusion that if Hillary can forgive Barack, so can I. This country is bigger than political squabbles. Yes the stakes are high, but our country's future is not worth the divisiveness.

I'm voting for Barack because I think he's a decent American who will do a good job. I'm not a PUMA, but I was a very disgruntled Democrat. I have taken another look at the political landscape, and I like what I see in Barack.

I wonder why, the media, republicans, and small town America are entertaining negative incindery labels like, unpatriotic, anti-american, socialist, and now communist. The Mcarthy era should have taught Americans a lesson in these types of slanders. Also, America bears the scars fom its past due to labels and false accusations, Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers and other renown leaders were accused of being a communist, persecuted by law enforcement groups and the government while the media stood by, until it got a conscience! African Americans are not socialist or communist and neither are Americans who love this country. I would be upset to hear them accuse CNN, ABC, CBS new media outlets of being communist, the jury is out on FOX News. Will the media standby while these incindery charges cause a polarization, hatred, and even violence. African Americans have seen this before! I am looking for the media to stand up for the truth! Standing up for truth is not an endorsement of Barack Obama! It is an emphatic plea for decency, peacefulness, the constituition, and the human rights of all citizens to disagree without extremist inflammatory rhetoric.

Sandra   October 21st, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Rendell should be nervous. I have a job which requires me to drive over several counties within western pennsylvania, which is normally a democratic stronghold. Guess what… I see 10 McCain signs for every 1 Obama sign. Of course, according to the democrats (local & national), we are the racist individuals that cling to our guns & religion.. what they don't realize is that we have enough sense to see the truth about the smoke & mirrors of the obama ego machine. I predict that there will be many many millions of Americans that will have doubts about obama as they walk into the voting booth and change their vote accordingly all across this great nation. The obama campaign may have a real surprise coming to them Nov 4th!

People watch Palin like they watch a car accident. She is folksy and she is a competent politician but she is dangerously unprepared to be President if something should happen to McCain. Even right wingers say so.

All she does is motivate the base and luckily there are not enough people in that category.

I don't know how McCain–or Rendell for that matter–thinks the GOP can turn a solid blue state pink in 2 weeks. Not without surrendering to Obama's momentum in Florida and Ohio–and if the Democrats win either state, they wouldn't even NEED Pennsylvania.

George   October 21st, 2008 6:47 pm ET

Murtha and Biden both need to keep their opinions to themselves and FOCUS ON THE ECONOMY AND WINNING ON NOV 4th.

David, Silver Spring, MD   October 21st, 2008 6:46 pm ET

I think it is important for Obama to secure the 270 before he tries to get 370. He's got to lock up the big vote states in the East: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. If he does that, McCain is toast, regardless what happens in Colorado, Indiana, Missouri, and Nevada.

No McCain/No Palin   October 21st, 2008 6:46 pm ET

Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.

If the majority votes for McCain/Palin, they get what they ask for. As for me, I'd like the GOP to go through some self cleansing first. That requires a defeat so they can come back clean and strong in a few years. Colin Powell nailed it with his criticism. The current GOP shouldn't be given another vote of confidence. Especially after they've reused every dirty tactic helped them deceive the people in the past. Enough.

McCain is abandoning Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado to concentrate on Pennsylvania. That does not seem to make much sense to me so I think Rendell is correct. Maybe the Republican internal polls show more McCain strength than the major polls do. No matter what, it would not hurt to make a swing there.

An American….sorry, but your colors show through. Just like the Republican congressman in NC who spewed his hate about those people who aren't like him…us liberals who apparently hate God and America.

Robert   October 21st, 2008 6:43 pm ET

Sounds like a call to bait McCain into spending precious resources in the expensive media market. Obama can afford to fight a multi front war, but McCain can't.

While he's in the neighborhood, maybe he can stop in and do an SNL surprise guest appearance, maybe Letterman, then drop down to Virginia for a rally. Meanwhile, Hillary can criss-cross PA for a few more days to undo any gains McCain has made.

I don't think it will hurt for Obama to go back. You never want to take anything for granted especially since the polls apear to be tightening. I think Obama needs to win PA to secure his Win. I am still a little nervous about this election just in case the "Bradley effect" were to play out. I also remember the last election that the polls tightened and Kerry had to make a mad dash to PA to insure victory in that state. But it does seem like McCain has decided to focus on the PA to be his road to the White House.

To all you nasty Obama supporters – I voted early as well –

straight republican ticket

I was a democratic until this election – you people are snakes. From here on out I am going to be an independent, but for now

MCCAIN/PLAIN – 2008

SHOVE IT DEMS.

Aaron   October 21st, 2008 6:25 pm ET

I live in Pittsburgh and have been dissapointed that Obama has not made a visit here for the general election. I know there are a lot of supporters here for him but there almost the same for McCain. Too close for comfort. Obama/Biden 2008!

RBH   October 21st, 2008 6:24 pm ET

I am a 62 year old white female from SC and I will be voting for Senator Obama too. We need to support Senator Obama because he will be a breath of fresh air for our country. He will bring us together as a nation and we desperately need that.

Mitch   October 21st, 2008 6:24 pm ET

I would think that the people of Pennsylvania, real Americans and fake Americans according to Palin, are smart enough to see and hear the lies spread by the McCain campaign.

Amy   October 21st, 2008 6:24 pm ET

I think it might be a good idea for Obama and the Clintons to return…if only to make the point to Pennsylvanians that he is not taking them for granted.

tulsa   October 21st, 2008 6:23 pm ET

lol…. fact check count today, Obama truthful, mcCain false.
not that we didn't know that already.
Eat it you right wing trash.

lovable liberal   October 21st, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Without Pennsylvania, McCain can't win, so a little defense would be a good thing.

Bertin Evina-Ze   October 21st, 2008 6:23 pm ET

barack will be back. He must sweep McCain.

Go Barack/Biden!!

Obama/Biden   October 21st, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Obama should go back and share with the people of PA his economic plans and what he will do for the people of PA. I think the people of PA are smarter than you think, they will care less about twho will secure their retirement funds and pension plans, their jobs or save their home from foreclosure. No matter what the color or race of the candidate is, their pocketbooks come first. I think Obama should go back, becasue the more people hear from him, see him in action, the more they will voe for him.

REDNECKS LOVE OBAMA   October 21st, 2008 6:22 pm ET

Come on PA voters….. vote Obama… we believe in JOBS BABY JOBS

Ex GOPer   October 21st, 2008 6:22 pm ET

Don't believe everything you read. I support Obama but this seems like a bait and switch. Pretend the state is competetive and take limited resources of McCain from other states? I mean Clintons, Rendell and Biden can you name four more powerful politicians in PA.

adg   October 21st, 2008 6:21 pm ET

I hope penns, people are smart enough to get that obama truly is for all americans not just the ones who vote for him, When He wins. all of us will benefit from is plan and mccain will continue bushs policies. I voted early for Obama!!!!

Deb   October 21st, 2008 6:21 pm ET

I'd like to see Obama go back to Penn and then make a suprise sweep of southern states like Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia in particular. Take it all away from the Republican's and thier hate machine. I am tired of Republican's thinking they are the only patriotic one's and I don not want the Republican's in office to continue helping the rich.

tulsa   October 21st, 2008 6:21 pm ET

TheTruthHurts
You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you in the rear.
People like you are the ones who can't be trusted. You and your anti-American Republican buddies can shove it.

malclave   October 21st, 2008 6:21 pm ET

Why would Obama want to go to Pennsylvania? According to Rep. Murtha, the place is filled with racists.

Anthony   October 21st, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Save America, Yes, please get OBAMA back to Pennsylvania! There are way too many McCain signs here. We can't let ourselves be stuck in old ways of thinking anymore.

Brian Rich   October 21st, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Democrats in Pennsylvania – GET OUT AND VOTE ASAP!! It is critical to show McCain we're not interested in more partisan violence in Washington, more stalled progress, more CEO-first McCain economic policies.

Time to move on! Bush is done, McCain his surrogate has no chance, so lets seal this coffin and get on with the future!

Ex GOPer   October 21st, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Scary thing is that it's at the point McCAin could take PA, FL and OH and still lose. Obama supporters are more fired up then ever and while the math is hard to figure out for McCain the Obama team has created possible scenarios that defy the history of Red and Blue States.

We are all REAL Americans! Obama 08

Red, Red WHINE!!   October 21st, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Come on Virginia, this is what we have been talking about. We can NOT take anything for granted.

If you are young and for Obama, this is your election to lose! We need you. Unfortunately, the old people of my age, are proportionately split between the two Candidates. The young can win this!! Make it your day, make it your future!!

Get in and VOTE your butts off!

Independent for Obama!!   October 21st, 2008 6:18 pm ET

I agree, even though Obama is up in th epolls in PA, he should go and secure PA as much as possible, before securing one of the red states. PA is a must!

joe   October 21st, 2008 6:18 pm ET

carol kesling   October 21st, 2008 6:17 pm ET

GO OBAMA AND BIDEN, I MAILED MY BALLOT IN ON OCT 13TH !!!!!!

Emily   October 21st, 2008 6:17 pm ET

I hope he goes back, as soon as that nasty old buzzard and the wolf killer hear that Obama went up in the polls, they will have to reach into their bags of filth and lies to try and smear him to reduce the lead.
Don't take any chances with these sneaky amoral people, they are capable of anything.

TheTruthHurts   October 21st, 2008 6:16 pm ET

He's been selfish the entire time and has done this before. Clearly, PA would be a death blow to McCain, but Obama has to trust his organization to give him good intelligence. If they're wrong, then he will suffer the consequences. I'm sure Missouri and Nevada and Colorado want him there too.

Rendell can make his case like all the rest, but I question why he does it in the media. That's why I don't trust the guy.

jeff @ MA   October 21st, 2008 6:16 pm ET

Obama doesn't have to return if Murtha keeps his mouth shut.

Barbara - 65 yr old white female in NC   October 21st, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Voted straight DEM – and I'm one of those Pro-Americans in this pocket called the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Shove it, Palin.

Obama/Biden '08
