Palin: God will do the right thing on election day

Gov. Palin told James Dobson that God will do 'the right thing' on election day.
Gov. Palin told James Dobson that God will do 'the right thing' on election day.

FINDLAY, Ohio (CNN) –- In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on Nov. 4.

Dobson asked the vice presidential hopeful if she is concerned about John McCain’s sagging poll numbers, but Palin stressed that she was “not discouraged at all.”

“To me, it motivates us, makes us work that much harder,” she told the influential Christian leader, whose radio show reaches millions of listeners daily. “And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God’s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”

Dobson praised Palin's opposition to abortion rights, to which the governor affirmed that she is “hardcore pro-life.”

She said giving birth to her son Trig, who has Down syndrome, has given her the opportunity “to be walking the walk and not just talking the talk” in her long-standing opposition to abortion.

Dobson - who has never been warm to McCain - asked Palin if her “private conversations” with the GOP nominee had revealed a true commitment to the Republican party’s pro-life platform, which calls for a constitutional amendment banning abortions.

"I do, from the bottom of my heart," Palin assured Dobson. “John McCain is solidly there on those solid planks in our platform that build the right agenda for America.”

She also thanked her supporters - including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking “for God’s intervention” on election day - for their prayers of support.

“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”

The interview was taped on Monday by phone while Palin was campaigning in Colorado Springs, where “Focus on the Family” is headquartered.

I just cant stand people that think that God is on their side, and that God would help Sarah over Obama for some reason?
    How disgusting.
Palins idea of being a Christian and my idea of being a Christian are just too different things. Maybe it's because I'm a Catholic. I dont know, but this woman just doesnt get it.
And she spends $150,000 on her clothes? Outrageous. That is more that I mortgaged my house for and I have a 30year loan. That is just disgusting. She is vain and has sinful pride!

I would think if God had to choose sides, he would be Democrat since its the party of the people – the party who takes care of the sick and poor and unfortunate. The party that shoves selfishness and pride aside to reach out to the common man.

I swear every time she mentions Trig she makes it sound like she only had him to prove her pro-life credentials.

What a horrible, horrible woman! I hope she returns to Oblivion after she and McSap lose.

This is great news because I forgot my faith and was worried about the outcome of the election. God WILL do the right thing and allow us to elect the best candidate – Barack Obama. And God will relieve us from having to listen to this two-sided hateful woman who deals in lies whenever convenient for her personal gain.

    "Prayer Warriors"....how jihadist!

...and now Sarah Six Pack shows us how average she is by letting the RNC spend $75,000 at Neiman Marcus for clothing.

She more and more shows us she is a typical politician and not a "maverick".

Sarah Palin and her evangelical following evidently does not know that God does not hear a hypocrite! Her saying God will do the right thing on election day is true! He will elect Barack Obama as President of the United States of America! When that happens, I wonder will she judge God's decision or power He's given people to elect Barack Obama! I can't wait to see her spin and the republicans spin on this statement! Fortunately, she does not speak for God or the American people!

If it is truly God's will then why campaign at all? Why spend $150K on new clothes and hair styles, why travel across the country, why? I love it when these "devout Christians" spew hatred, tell lies, cut other people down because I am sure that is exactly what God and Jesus would do. Hypocrites.

“It is that intercession that is so needed,”

In other words, the McCain/Palin strategy is now "God help us"!

She is so unequivocably disgusting. She makes my wife throw up, and she makes me despair about the future of our country. All of my life this country has been so "free" and "secure." Now, it is one of the scariest places on the planet. I wish she could be imprisoned for her awful hate and arrogance.

For the lady who thinks that God sent us to war with Iraq, its really laughable and very sad to know what kind of idiots run for presidency nowadays. Tolerating a stupid president for 8 years s one thing but to tolerate a stupid person for running for VP position says a lot for American people and I am really keen o see the reaction from American citizens on this. Joe Biden alteast ran for primaries. But Palin, who is she? Everyday new news about her corruption and corrupted administration is coming out. So, John McCain, instead of asking the question – Who is Barack Obama?, you should answer the question – Who is Sarah Palin?

In a football game, players from each team pray to their God to win. And only one team can. Everyone wants what they want from God for selfish reasons usually, and God doesn't show favorites, despite what Sarah Palin wants. Obama supporters pray daily, McCain supporters pray daily. Don't you think God is already overwhelmed as it is with all the actual SUFFERING going on in the world, He doesn't have time to deal with our political bickering.
Oh, and by the way, there IS supposed to be a separation of church and state!
