Sen. McCain is on a Joe the plumber tour.
Sen. McCain is on a Joe the plumber tour.

INTERSTATE 4, Florida (CNN)– Joe the plumber goes on tour?

Well sort of.

Driving through Florida on the "Straight Talk Express," Sen. John McCain rallied voters and talked to small business owners during the "Joe the Plumber: Keep Your Wealth" tour.

“You know whether it is Joe the plumber in Ohio or whether it is Joe over here –thank you Joe. There's Joes all over here,” said McCain at his second stop, a rally in Ormond Beach, Florida. “Senator Obama wants to spread the wealth around. That means fewer jobs at their businesses and fewer jobs here in Florida.”

People cheered as they held signs that said, "McCain will help the working man" and "My husband is Tom the plumber". Two fork lifts held the "Country First" sign above the platform.

McCain kicked off the tour at the Starlite Diner in Daytona Beach with four small business owners, or in campaign speak, four Joe the plumbers.

Their actual names and professions are florist Richard Rivers, pub owner Tom Curtis, food store owner Patricia Surgine and Thomas Crowe, president of a lumber supply company and a former professional football player.

Diners at neighboring tables manned their cell phone cameras as the business owners told McCain their troubles, particularly with Barack Obama's tax plan.

At the morning rally, held at the lumber supply company owned by Crowe, the Arizona Senator got very fired up about two topics: the Bush presidency and his Democratic opponent.

“I call on the Administration to act now and buy up these home loan mortgages and keep people in their homes,” he said as he pounded on the podium. ”And why is the Secretary of the Treasury not ordering them to do that?”

McCain also emphasized concerns about Obama's ability to lead.

“You know it is amazing," he said "Are you ready to trust Americans’ national security to an untested leader in these times of war?”

He also mocked Obama’s explanation of why Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden said his running mate would be tested by an international crisis as president.

“Yesterday Senator Obama tried to explain away this by warning – by saying that his running mate sometimes engages in rhetorical flourishes. Really? Really? That’s another way of saying he accidentally delivered some straight talk to America.”

At his third and fourth stops, he also met with small business owners. The third stop was held at a dentist's office in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Hispanic business owners were targeted at the later stop, a Puerto Rican restaurant in Orlando.

After his meeting, he made a statement to the press corps where he talked about one of the women he spoke with inside the restaurant, noted the new jobless report, and said he was optimistic about his chances in Florida.

“We’re doing well in Florida, I’m happy with the polling numbers. It’s going to be a battleground state, we got a lot of work to do but with Charlie Crist, Mel Martinez and a lot of the great support we have across this state we will win and we will win this election.”

The six stop tour will take the McCain campaign through Florida along the I-4 corridor. This part of the state is home to nearly 20 percent of undecided voters which both campaigns consider the key to Florida’s 27 electoral votes.

As a registered republican, I received a request from Sarah Palin for a donation to the campaign (maybe she needs a new dress), I sent it back empty because I need the money more than the RNC. I have early voted Obama and would like to have the RNC call me when McCain, Palin, Guiliani are gone.

Did anyone see the full unedited exchange between this "joe" guy and Senator Obama? If you did, this joe the plummer thing would go away. Obama was clear, articulate, and fully explained his plan. Although I think this guy was a republican plant, the look on his face said a mouth full; he agrees with Obama's plan but can't come out publically and say it.

GA Independent   October 23rd, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Each time Obama has something unique to say or has someone say something unique – McCain adopts it – first it was "change" and now it's Joe the Plumber.

Who is the leader? Who is the follower?

Here's a little quiz for you. Who said it was a good idea to increase the Earned Income Tax Credit, a credit for low-income workers that reduces the impact of payroll taxes in order to boost take-home pay above poverty levels? That is, When the credit is more than the amount of federal income taxes owed by an individual, that person receives a tax "refund."

Give up? It was Ronald Reagan himself who praised the earned income tax credit as the best "anti-poverty" and "pro-family" legislation ever enacted by Congress. So, are you now saying Regan is a socialist?

And how about this one?
While thinking that repairing the Bush tax cuts, in essence restoring the tax rates back to the levels of the good ole Clinton days, is a bad idea by Obama, it is PRECISELY the same position McCain himself argued when they were first enacted. Is his memory so poor that he cannot remember saying the Bush tax plan was "skewed" to benefit the rich in 2001 and 2003?

Hey Joe in Ohio, what you say about these facts?

ken   October 23rd, 2008 3:58 pm ET

joe the plumber , this is the same joe, who is not joe it's sam , it should be the sam tour., well lets see , sam, allis joe. he is not a plumber , in ohio you have to have a licence to be a plumber ,joe does not have one , joe is related to mc cains co chairman charles keating , yes that is the same keating tjat almost cost mc cain his senate seat, as one of the keating five fame, they thyed to keep keating from being investigated , but he was and found guilty of fraud and several other felonys, from staeling millions from old poeple, just like today. but sam is related to him . , thats very odd , yet the biggest thing is that joe or sam gave the obama campain a $100.00 donation, how much did he give you john, also he should of used the money to pay his back taxes, thats what i would run on , is it to hard to find a honest man . ken

Let's call it what it is Obama is giving 55% of people a tax break and and 40% of people an increase in the welfare they already receive it is not a tax cut if you don't pay taxes and 40% receive more back than they pay. Welfare not tax cuts tired of % manipulation by people who follow tag lines only.

I'm so tired of this Joe Plumber crap. Question is, when was he tested? He says he was and says they don't want to test him, sounds to me like he wants to start another war. this guy is sick in the head, put him and his puddy shape wife in an old folks home

Uhh ... Umm ... No, Joe the plumber obviously has very limited appeal and credibility and represents eveything wrong with the McCain't/ Failin' Palin campaign. If it were otherwise, John McCain would be ahead in the polls and NOT defending red state territory.

Does anyone out there see the total insanity behind this gimmick of gimmicks? That's the kind of utter disillusionment and disconnection John and Sarah would bring to the White House. Sorry, I want someone "like me" but smarter than me running my country and leading this nation.

Maddie, Hartford, Ct.   October 23rd, 2008 3:58 pm ET

"Spreading the wealth around" is something we call taxes...just about all of us have to pay them. If we didn't (like Joe the Plumber), we wouldn't have schools, fire departments, police or military. Joe the Plumber certainly doesn't represent my husband or myself. We pay our taxes on time and out the ying yang

Does this guy not get it? The only crowd liking his Joe crap are the people already voting for him. It's turning off the people he needs to help him. Unfortunately the combination of this mantra and Palin have alienated far too many. Maybe running for President for far too long has damaged McCain beyond repair.

Why is it that McCain continues to use experience references from 50 years ago? I mean, I think it is great what he did back then but what experience has he had being "Tested" as a leader in International affairs in the 21st century?

Since every American who was around during the Cuban Missile crisis was also "tested" having faced the possibility of nuclear war, wouldn't that make all of them "Tested" as well which means no one woud dare try to do anything to them?

Linda   October 23rd, 2008 3:57 pm ET

For McCain to have been a prisoner of war and claim to put country first, I would have to say no because what I have seen is the other side of McCAin. He's a racist a bigot, and he's irractic. I thougth he was more intelligent than he has showned. He is ignorant, crazy , and out of lies to tell on Obama. Right now he's worried about "Joe the Plumber"...when he's in office all he's going to care about is John the multi-millionare with 10 houses and five cars. Those are the only ones that republicans ever care about . I guarantee you a tax increase for some of these wealthy people won't cause them to have to change anything about their lifestyles. They'll still have homes, cars, expensive vacations...the WORKS! Everyone seems so worried about them having to pay extra taxes, but I guarantee you that none of them are sitting in their million dollar homes worrying about the people who got put on the street b/c they couldn't make their house payments.

I hope there's enough people in Florida who take pride in their own work to counteract the lazy Obama supporters who want something for nothing. I believe there are, and I think McCain will win Florida.

McCain's been talking about fighting for American's small business to create jobs, and all Obama and Biden have to say is that Joe the Plumber didn't have a plumber's license that he didn't need anyway. Way to focus on the REAL issues, Obama. How pathetic. Why don't you give another vapid speech about how you'll CHANGE America by spending us into bankruptcy. Do you have China's banks on speed-dial?

Do they really think "spread the wealth around' is a bad thing, especially after the current finanacial crisis and the last 8 years of Bush economics? Make the rich richer and to heck with the rest.

I mean if John McShame is so worried the moose can't dress herself, he should pay for it with his own bucks [pun intended] instead of taxpayer money. After all $150,000 is small potatoes to a millionaire like him with 13 cars and 7 mansions.

When folks like Joe the-wanna-be-plumber vote for McCain they are voting against their own financial interests. The Repubs are laughing all the way to the bank because of these clowns. Now if their only concern in choosing a candidate is whether he will allow them to have an AK-47, then maybe they are OK with hurting themselves financially. Most, however, probably don't even understand the result of their selection–they just do it because they are too lazy to look up the real facts, their spouse told them to vote that way, or they can be played like a violin with a little political rhetoric. The Repubs are so desperate these days that they'll take whatever they can get. A plumber shown to be nothing he claims and VP candidate better suited to selling cosmetics. Bow out with a little dignity, McCain. You're looking like a cartoon version of your former self–your tooth grinding smile and your negative topic du jour are making you look and sound like a lunatic.

thomas   October 23rd, 2008 3:46 pm ET

America is a nation built on capital. All of society's systems, institutions, and laws are based upon this common maxim. If America were built around humanity, society would function and appear very different, but it's not. More than a third of the nation's wealth is owned by just one percent of the wealthiest households while the bottom 80 percent hold a mere 16 percent. The wealthiest 20 percent own the USA, they run the USA, and they pushed the USA into political and financial ruin. America is in crisis and the wealthiest Americans are the only ones with the capital to fix it. That's not socialism, it's reality.

Agnes Fleming   October 23rd, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Truly, it would be just so nice if McCain could get the truth straight, and a man with 7 (or is it 11) houses is hardly used to "palling around with" plumbers, except to have them work for him, and I doubt very much John McCain and his plastic wife, Cindy, hire unlicensed ones earning $40 something thousand and with no hope of ever earning $250,000 + or owning his own business. Time to get off the jaded record with the stuck needle.

Elle   October 23rd, 2008 3:46 pm ET

It is ridiculous to think (and to claim) that a business PROFITING $250k/year is considered a "small" business. Because, as a small business owner myself I know this for a fact: you may Gross $250k, but you're only taxed on your Net income. So you would have to make a heck of a lot more than $250,000 a year Gross to be taxed on that amount (unless you have $0 in expenses, which I highly doubt any business has). So, seriously people, REAL businesses making under $250k are going to benefit much more under Obama's plan than under McCain's. He's protecting the Big Boys, not the Little People.

Carol in Durham, Maine   October 23rd, 2008 3:45 pm ET

Of course he has Joe the plumber tour. HIs Joe doesn't even pay his taxes and so McCain must feel he is a 'role model' for the nation. Because if you DO pay taxes you must be a 'socialist' or wait is the communist?
People who midlessly vote for these people need to be pitied. Does this nation really want another shallow shoot them up cowboy ?

My prayer is that Americans won't buy the smear tactics this time and will see through it. We have too many issues.

The McCain campaign gets goofier and goofier. Who are they trying to connect with, anyway? It seems they are going out of their way to attact the attention of rural rednecks and conservative radio geeks. I don't believe for a minute that those groups of individuals comprise the majority of the voting population. I heard Todd Palin speak the other day and it was so laughable it was sad. Now this hapless moron who has been caught in his own misstatements so many times it's pitiful. I feel so sorry for John McCain, the John McCain I used to admire. His judgement is so poor now, it's almose as if he's deliberately killing his own campaign.

Ken in Dallas   October 23rd, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Joe the plumber would be a diversion even if he were authentic.

McCain still thinks status quo economic policy is just fine, because he doesn't understand that the free-market/free-trade policies he practices are the root cause of declining median income levels, which, in turn, are a major cause of mortgage defaults.

In truth, taxes are not an issue in the economy. The core issue is the erosion of American earning capacity, and McCain thinks deregulation is the way to fix that. A McCain presidency would be an economic catastrophe, because he misunderstands economics in a way frighteningly similar to the way Hoover misunderstood it.

Like the word of God says, "In the last days they will call what is good, bad and what is bad, good."

You so called christians out there; I have a question for you. Do mccain campaign resemble anything of Christ? Christ does not lie, cheat, bare false witness, use people, commit adultrey, rob the poor, nor does he deceive people, and he most certainly does not promote fear, for his word says that God has not given us a spirit of fear but love, power, and a sound mind.

So I say again, and quote Paul the Apostle, "Examine yourselves to see if you are of this christain faith, least you be deceived and Christ returns and find you without faith." Will the real christians please stand up? Stop being hypocrites! These were the first people that Jesus target and rebuked, are you one these people?

McCain said it’s no surprise large companies leave the country if they’re being taxed less there; e.g. in Ireland they only pay 11 % taxes. Following his logic, America will have to lower its tax rates for corporations to 11% before they stop flocking to Ireland. In other words, his proposed tax cut – 25 % instead of 35 % – is not going to stop these companies from going overseas.
Spoken like a true visionary, senator!

I was a Fl. resident that voted for Gore and my vote DIDNT COUNT! The McCain/Palin ticket frightens me. McCain said he is running an "honorable" campaign, then why are there so many very disturbing comments coming from people at his rallies?? As well as from Palin herself. My friends in Florida that own a Production Co. WILL catch these comments and people on camera. So watch out McCain! We will show America just how "Honorable" your campain is and air the film on CNN and yes FOX! Because divided we ALL fail!

The Republicans once again are gambling the campaign on character, not the issues. They will likely realize on November 3 that it will be too late to try and raise the issues.

They will continue to do Swift Boat, splatter theory, and CREEP attacks on Obama.

They will not succeed.

Joe the plumber is not the issue. The issue is the question he asked Messiah Obama. Obama is not for small business in fact he is not for business at all. Business is what keeps us in our homes. So this election is for Jobs, businesses and Homes. McCain has addressed these. Obama has not. He is willing to say anything to get people to vote for him. His is LYING to you and me. Mr lefty Obama will tax and spend, tax and spend. It will happen. A Leopard cannot change his spots..

Dirty Harry, that was the truth you owe an apology to people who are smart and do not work for campaigns as you do.

Bill you are absolutely correct!!! He is preaching to the choir because most people understand what a tax cut means for those under $250k.

Calling a tax-cut Socialist is the only way to tell dumb people that it is better to give tax cuts to the rich. Mind you, the same cuts that did not trickle down to the comon man and messed up the economy.

If I hear that Joe the plumber one more time from McPalin I will go nuts....for heavens sake is that the best they can do!!!!
This country is in a mess and all the McPalin ticket do is go on and on about this guy who is of no consequence anyway......it shows that they have nothing else to offer and it's getting boring!!!!
What a complete disaster the McPalin campaign has been....out of control crowds....desrespectful....lie after lie....enough is enough!!!
This country deserves so much better than McCain.....who's claim to fame as being honorable has long since diminished, alongside any dignity I should think.
No, it's time for a new chapter and new characters.....Sen Obama and Sen Biden will bring dignity and respect back to the White House and that has been lacking these past 8 years.
Vote wisely and vote now......we can't afford to have another 4 years of this useless Republican party.

I'm spitting mad over this statment – all of the boros that make up NYC are elitist? Were those of us that work in downtown NYC & also had loved ones in the towers elitist? Those that perished on 9/11 in both NYC & DC were elitist & un-American? Perhaps we should have mentioned that to al-queda & my family member & several friends would still be alive & I wouldn't still be having nightmares about it – How dare they! I find it interesting at how much the MEDIA and the democrats are doing to bury "Joe the plumber". It is because he has struck a cord with a LOT of hardworking Americans who do not ask anything from government and don't want anything taken from them by government.

"Joe the plumber" is a blue collar American icon.

He is what America is all about. Not Hollywood, not Harvard educated ELITISTS, not the MEDIA, not politicians, and he is NOT looking for a handout.

The only reason that 95% + of people benifit from Obama's plan is because over 35% do not pay taxes and will get a free check for doing nothing. So he is essence buying that presidency by getting all these people to vote in order to get the free money.

It is a smart winning strategy, however it is not right and I am shocked not 1 person in the media is calling him out on it (that I have heard of anyway)

Would people rather high inflation from an economy spinning out of control or pay extra taxes. Of course conservatives will reply self gratification first country last.

THAT LOUD FLUSHING SOUND IS YOUR CAMPAIGN GOING DOWN THE TOILET AND HEADING TO THE RIVER STYX....

Lies Lies Lies   October 23rd, 2008 3:16 pm ET

I want a president that I can be proud of. That's why I voted yesterday for Senator Obama. I loved the Democratic convention and I'll love seeing him sworn in. God Bless.

I've Voted for "THAT ONE"   October 23rd, 2008 3:16 pm ET

CNN!! I'll try to get this message posted one more time...

After months of primaries, conventions, debates, news reports, and evne blogs, I have come to the decision that this election is about two issues: experience and race.

Experience: In 2000, we elected the Governor of Texas. Eight months after taking office, 09/11 occurred. The result of his experience? A war that we supported based on faulty evidence of WMD, and the thought that Osama bin Laden was somehow involved in Iraq. Personally, I think Jr. just wanted to finish the job Daddy started in 1991. Over 4,000 of our troops have been killed, the vast majority of Americans want us out, and the Iraqis have a surplus of money yet we continue to spend billions each month. In addition, Bush and his friends (yes, you McCain) allowed greed, corruption and deregulation to occur on Wall Street that has severely damaged Main Street. So I ask the question...is that the "experience" we really want? No matter how far he tries to distance himself from Bush, McCain (by his own words) voted with him over 90% of the time.

Race: We do not get to choose our parents. Obama's father was from Kenya and his mother from Kansas (Dorothy and Toto land – how "American"). He was orphaned and raised by his grandparents. He went to colleged, earned a law degree, and taught Consitutional Law. I think he knows the role of the VP! Yet, in 2008, there are still pockets of America that will not vote for him because he is bi-racial. Wake up, folks. Our country is in the toilet and it doesn't matter if he's white, black. brown, green, red, or blue...he's the one with the plan. This is not the 1840's, but our country seems once again divided by the issue of race.

As a white, Christian Republican, I voted on Tuesday for Obama. I am a teacher who makes less than "Joe or Jane the Plumber," and I am confident that Obama is the man for the job. Our job is to VOTE...VOTE EARLY if you can.

Bruce   October 23rd, 2008 3:16 pm ET

This is so stupid, and shows desperation.
If McCAin had any sense and could read he would know that what is spouting is not true...of course as he said about Obama today that he would say anything to get elected...well john look in the mirror because that is you and Palin.
Give up this Joe the plumber thing,.,.and telling us you have "plans" for this and that..and level with us...give us straight talk...at least once .. and tell us exactly what you are going to do and how.
Interesting that today you say you have issues with Bush...but John don;t you remember that " I voted with President Bush 90% of the time, more than even ,my republican colleages"...your words not mine. You are desperate and will say and do anything to get elected.
We , are not falling for your last minute stuff.

ObamaBiden08   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

It's obvious to most Americans that Joe "the Plumber" who is not actually a Plumber and has a tax lien was a Mccain plant. It's been proven to Joe already that since he doesn't own his business yet he would save more under obama than McCain. Joe the Plumber knows he is no where close to owning his own business it's all Propaganda set forth by the Repubs to make it seem like McBush is fighting for the average Joe no pun intended, I wonder if McBush will explain to Joe how he can spend 150,000 on a fancy shopping spree. Give it up McCain no one is buying into your tactics-nothing is working for you-Ayers didn't work Acorn is not sticking-Wright won't work-Socialist label won't work and now the Joe the Plumber is not working.

Rman   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

When I hear John McCain talk about Joe the Plumber, it reminds me of the Super Mario Brothers game. Imagine the theme playing in the background, every time he says "Joe the Plumber" you get a coin.
You lose when you get to 250K.

Mike D   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Hey JOHN,
WE DON'T HAVE ANY WEALTH ANYMORE THANKS TO YOU AND BUSH.

Sebastian, Baton Rouge, LA   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Dirty Harry,

Conservatives have called her stupid, dumb and corrupt. Are you not listening?

It has happened in writing, on the radio airwaves and in a few off camera mistakes. And your point is what?

Laura   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

John McCain future looks like it will need a plumber .... drain baby drain!

Diana Ewing NJ   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Dirty Harry, they already did.... pay attention

Scott   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Joe Schmoe.

Enough of this non-sense.

Enough of these failed policies.

Enough of this campaign ticket.

Enough of this senile old man.

Enough of the continuation of the Bush administration.

Go Obama, go Biden.

james in s.c.   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

GOOD GOD WHEN WILL MCBUSH SHUT UP ABOUT THIS JOE THE PLUMBER??? MCBUSH IS KEEPING ON MISLEADING ABOUT THAT ISSUES. I SAW THE WHOLE CLIP WHEN OBAMA TALKED TO THIS PHONY JOE, PEOPLE GOOGLE IT AND WATCH IT!! MCBUSH IS STILL LYING ABOUT THIS!!!!

GO OBAMA-BIDEN 08 & 12

Shari, NY   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Obama has taken time off for serious personal business, and the caste of Palin, McCain and Giuliani are off to join Barnum and Bailey to keep the kiddies entertained. Yawn, no news!!!

kathy   October 23rd, 2008 3:15 pm ET

I wish McCain would find real issues to talk about. He goes back and forth. He doesn't have to worry about Palin making a fool of herself and him, he's doing a fine job himself. He says he doesn't "need testing"..he's been tested,..he's got the scars to prove it. He repeats himself over and over to the point people can recite his stumps speeches. He accused Obama of being all over the place, no real issues of substances, changing his mind...blah blah blah...is he confusing himself with Obama. McCain erractic. The democrats have a clear understandable plan. Maybe the McCain should listen to the whole conversation between Obama and Joe the plumber.

Matt   October 23rd, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Straight talk express??? Ridiculous...

The Republican National Committee is distributing a mail piece that says "Terrorists" on the front and opens to a big picture of Barack saying "Not Who You Think He Is."

John McCain - who promised to run a respectful campaign - said that he was "absolutely" proud of it.

With a leader who plays on American fears, ignorance and racism, we will surely be in a good place should God "do the right thing" on November 4th.

There is zero doubt in my mind that McCain will be president elect on 11/5/08.

There is also zero doubt in my mind that in one of the coming elections after this one Obama will be elected. Just not this year

WhiteWomenforObama'08   October 23rd, 2008 3:14 pm ET

I can't fathom why they think this method is working.
Do they have internet access?

annonymous   October 23rd, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Joe the plumber si not a plumber; John McCain is not a leader!

They are a perfect pair.

Abby   October 23rd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

I've been doing everything I can on these blogs to convince people to vote for Obama.

Now the DNC has not sent me my check.

NO MORE.

McCain/Palin '08

Angel09   October 23rd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

McCain's sounding like a Democrat.

The Republicans are nationalizing our banks.

Wow...I guess they all agree that we need some change. It's too bad that all their rhetoric is just for the election and that, if put back in office, will just continue the policies that have been so ruinous.

PoliticoPundit   October 23rd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Oh By the way, not only Europe prefers Obama, he has one more supporter

Here is the news flash : Larijani: Iran prefers Obama

Diana Ewing NJ   October 23rd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

For those of us who saw the whole conversation between this man... and Obama and then the follow ups meaning ... that he is not ready nor could he afford to buy this bussiness... we are tired of it McCain..

Talk on the issues, let us know who you are and what you stand for other than you are against Senator Obama. Find your voice John.

Sebastian, Baton Rouge, LA   October 23rd, 2008 3:13 pm ET

I am sickened by the fact that all these years I actually believed that John McCain was a man of integrity.

He is a purely horrific excuse for a man and I would actually consider moving out of my own country before I'd let this man be my Commander-In-Chief.

The only thing McCain has tested is an ejection seat!

Jane From Florida   October 23rd, 2008 3:12 pm ET

McCains turning into a jester.......we change the channel

Angela   October 23rd, 2008 3:10 pm ET

Oh brother......each day McCain changs his theme. I can't wait for his November 5th theme.........."WHOSE FAULT WAS IT TOUR"

Joe from Mahwah, NJ   October 23rd, 2008 3:10 pm ET

The "Joe the Plumber Tour?" A tour based off of a man who:

1. does not pay his taxes.
2. not even a licensed plumber. He is operating in the state illegally.
3. Only makes $40,000. He would get a tax cut under Obama and pretty much lied to Obama claiming he was ready to purchase the company.
4. told a right wing radio host that he was trying to trap Obama. (ie McCain's "gotcha journalism")
5. was registered with the now defunct Natural Law party. Wiki them for a good laugh.
6. has a relative who is the son-in-law of Charles Keating.

The Straight Talk express is running on a flat tire and a cracked engine.

Frank   October 23rd, 2008 3:10 pm ET

A plumbers' tour for McCain is very appropriate.

His campaign has sprung so many leaks, it would take an army of plumbers to plug them all.

bill   October 23rd, 2008 3:10 pm ET

I think the republicans have run this "joe the plumber" into the ground. They are just preaching to a republican choir...no one else is listening.

Jim Schimmer   October 23rd, 2008 3:09 pm ET

McSame you are fooling no one...
98% of people will benefit from Obama's plan..

You are fighting for the 2% of people ! You are an evil man.

JOE THE PLUMBER is a FRAUD !!!!

Shay   October 23rd, 2008 3:08 pm ET

McCain where were you yesterday and day before? You are so studpid that it seems as if you can't campaign without bging up dead stuff and stuff that should have been hog washed. Now please get a plan and tell the difference between Obama and McCain.

This is what the American People want and not just some washed up Joe the Plumber information.

Irma in North Carolina   October 23rd, 2008 3:08 pm ET

A FAKE presidential candidate using a FAKE plumber.

Dirty Harry   October 23rd, 2008 3:04 pm ET

By the way, CNN owes Sarah Palin an apology today! The CNN reporter made an outright bogus claim on a nationally aired interview in which he claimed Conservatives called he stupid, corrupt, dumb, etc. This was a blatant LIE! His only point was to mislead the nation! CNN, what do you have to say for this obvious misquote to mislead?
