Sen. Hillary Clinton, who supports Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid, is featured in an anti-Obama newspaper ad by the Republican Jewish Coalition.

(CNN) – The Republican Jewish Coalition is backing Sen. John McCain for president, but the group’s latest newspaper ad uses Sen. Hillary Clinton’s record on issues of particular concern to Jewish voters (along with that of McCain) to make the case against Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee.

The latest installment in the group’s series of ads in Jewish newspapers across the country features Clinton’s positions on Jerusalem, meeting with leaders of hostile nations, and labeling Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization alongside that of the two men still running for the White House. The ad portrays Clinton and McCain as agreeing on all three foreign policy issues with Obama as the outlier.

“Now are you concerned about Barack Obama?,” the ad says. “You should be,” it reads in all capital letters.

The taglines appear frequently in the RJC’s ad campaign and appear to be calculated to raise doubts about the Illinois senator’s commitment to foreign policy positions important to Jewish voters. "One of the most important things in foreign policy is understanding who your friends are and who your enemies are,” Matt Brooks, Executive Director of the RJC said in a statement announcing the new ad. “The three key issues of foreign policy highlighted in our new ad are good indicators of that understanding, and in each instance, Obama failed the test," Brooks added.

The National Jewish Democratic Council, which backs Obama, recently launched its own series of print ads in Jewish newspapers. The Democratic group’s latest ad focuses on Obama’s plan for energy independence and his positions on Middle Eastern foreign policy issues.

Jewish voters favor Obama over McCain by a ratio of more than 3-to-1, according to Gallup poll results released Thursday. Seventy-four percent of registered Jewish voters surveyed by Gallup in October preferred Obama and 22 percent supported McCain; 4 percent were undecided and 1 percent preferred neither nominee. The Gallup survey involved telephone interviews of 564 registered Jewish voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points.

Obama’s 74 percent support level is the identical level of support received by the Kerry-Edwards ticket during the 2004 election and slightly less than the 80 percent of the Jewish vote received by the Gore-Lieberman ticket in 2000, according to Gallup.

"More than any year in the past, Republican operatives have crowed about the increasing proportion of the Jewish vote going to Republicans this year," Ira N. Forman, the NJDC's Executive Director said in a statement about the Gallup poll results. "In fact, for every election since at least 1972 we've heard 'sky is falling' predictions concerning the Democratic proportion of the vote. However, it looks like this is going to be one more year when political pundits, some in the media, Jewish Republicans, and other partisans were wrong in their over the top forecasts," Forman added.

Florida voters should be very afraid of John McCain's policies. Their life savings will disappear under his watch... or what's left of that savings after President Bush's economic collapse.
One other thing ALL voters should be asking of McCain. What are the facts behind his long and ONGOING relationship with convicted Watergate criminal G. Gordon Liddy? Hint: It's far more scary than any connection Obama has with Ayers.

I am a Jew. I fault every problem Israel currently faces on them and the Palestinians. The Iranians are an outside issue, just like Iraq was.

I think Obama will be better for Israel than McCain. I believe McCain's hawkish position is bad for the country.

Even Ehud Barak suggested that it might be necessary to give the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem back.

This isn't Republican Jews, Democratic Jews, Independent Jews – all who happen to be AMERICAN JEWS – this is an ISRAELI JEW.

The Democrats in the Jewish community outnumber the Jewish repubs by a large margin, so I think this group is more like a fringe Jewish group backing the republican McCain.

The repubs are doomed this year and those repubs who switch party and Dems this year can come the big outdoor party on Nov. 4th and 5th.

I can't wait for this election to be over. Is it me or has anyone noticed that there is no more talk about the issues? McCain might as well have a ad that shows a kitchen sink being thrown at Obama. At least that would be his truthful ad.

John   October 23rd, 2008 9:31 pm ET

It's what's good for America that is important, Barack Obama has already explained his position with respect to Israel. His position is no different than our current policies. Lets remember that Israel spoke with terrorist organizations in Lebanon to negotiate the return of Israeli soldiers, and they were criticized. Both sides gain something by speaking in a civil discussion, nothing is accomplished when you publicly humiliate a people without their inclusion. Obama is smart to open discussions with governments we haven't spoken with in friendly terms in years. When nations are shown to be unreasonable through open discussions via UN Diplomats, the less likely one of the veto nations are to close the argument with their veto. No one wins, it becomes a waste of time. It shouldn't be that way.

Mike Kaplan   October 23rd, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Obama has always been very clear about his support for Israel, despite attempts to portray him as somehow suspect. The fact that he believes the Palestinians should also have their own state is not a problem- most Jews and even most Israelis agree with that.

Most of us Jews are voting for Obama, and by very large margins. The Jewish vote has always been heavily Democratic, because the Democrats care about social justice, equality, and progressive values.... and the Republicans just care about taking care of those poor oppressed rich people. What are the other big Repub issues this year that might appeal to Jews? Joe the Plumber? I don't think so. Prayer in schools and right wing judges? I don't think so. Ramming religion down people's throats? I don't think so. Bill Ayers? Don't make me laugh.

The Jewish vote always goes Democratic......and this year will be no exception.

I guess that Americans of the Jewish faith are being challenged to answer a fundamental question.

Which party would try to scare you into voting against your own interests, the Republicans or the Democrats?

Israel is and always will be America's closest ally in the Middle East. But we will be unable to advance the cause of peace in that region if we are regarded as a nation that cares only about the people of Israel and not at all for her neighbors.

John Starnes Tampa Florida   October 23rd, 2008 9:16 pm ET

It's about time that America and her leaders NOT obey the dictates of AIPAC and Israel.....our poor standing in the world is due largely to our slavish obedience to the dictates of Israel as decade after decade it is a nuclear-armed rogue nation in bold defiance of dozens of UN resolutions, with its perennial atrocities against the Palestinian people the main fuel for the hatred felt for them and us by understandably outraged Muslims around the world. We might as well be a colony of Israel, which has mutated from a homeland for Jews into a Zionist expansionist regime loathed by the world....and we pay a terrible price for our obedience to it. I hope Obama DOES re-examine this very unhealthy relationship! Let's not forget too the ample evidence that Israel knew in advance of 9-11 and whispered not a word.

Pro-Israel for Obama   October 23rd, 2008 9:09 pm ET

I'm Jewish and I have no doubts whatsoever in my mind that BARACK OBAMA IS THE RIGHT PRESIDENT FOR ISRAEL. This is one area where McCain is likely to continue the last 8 years – and look where that has gotten us! Plus, Biden has by far the most foreign policy credentials to get a peace agreement done. If you want peace for Israel, you're best bet is Obama-Biden!

Shane26   October 23rd, 2008 9:09 pm ET

Last time i checked you old time jewish folks....Israel was no safer than it was 8 years ago....SO if you want it to get wiped off the map, because john mccain thinks its a good idea to give them a cold shoulder and not at least open lines of communication....McCain prides himself on being ignorant, he has an old time brain, He has lost his honor, respect by just blatantly lying to the public, well McCain not everyone is friggin dumb to listen to your "spin doctors" I mean give me a break, you are constantly targeting the most uneducated, closed minded and uninformed group there is who still think "communism" is a threat. What a Joke, and What a joke of a Canidate. You make me sick!

The United States should always support Israel, however, American Jews should realize that this election is about more than just one issue. And know that an Obama/ Biden '08 vote WILL PROTECT ISRAEL. And know that this election is about the whole world. In addition to the Torah Jewish Americans must be loyal to America and Americans and all the issues WE faces as a nation. Israel is your homeland, but America is your home and mine. And the world is home to us all.

It's always been a mystery as to why the Jewish electorate seems to have endorsed Barack Obama. Or at least, that's what his campaign insists. According to internet postings about his his foreign advisers, past and present, make it no secret that he is seems to be sympathetic to anti-Israel groups. As we are in the last weeks before the vote, it's important that we all learn as much as we can about both campaigns.

How could a Mccain surrogate, and the head of the so called freedom fighters say that people are outraged that Barack Obama is using his campaign jet to go see his gravely ill Grandmother. This disgusts me and if John McCain does not address this than he is just as big of a meat-head as this IDIOT. What's even worst is that he thought this was a justified response to Sarah Palins 150,000 dollar wardrobe budget.

Gerry in Va. for Obama.   October 23rd, 2008 8:51 pm ET

I simply can't believe these people would vote for John McCain and all his connections with groups that would take over other countries, by force if necessary (PNAC/BILDERBERGS) .. Don't they realize he is in lock step with George Bush, Rumsfeld (oh yes he's still around), Paul wolfawitz, (him too) and Robert Kagan, John McCains foriegn affairs advisor on this PNAC PLAN?

Jon   October 23rd, 2008 8:50 pm ET

Pure bull. Obama has said or done nothing to indicate that he wouldn't treat Iran or other enemies of Israel the same way Clinton or McCain would. The only major difference is his stated intention to meet with Iran's leaders, if given the chance, and that's honestly a non-issue in my mind. Nothing wrong with sizing up the guy on the other end of the chessboard.

If you vote straight democratic they fix the machine so your presidential vote go for McCain intead of Barack. So you might think you vote for Barack and the machine was fix and it goes the other way. So pay good attention to make sure your presidential vote goes to your choosing candidate. These are disgusting tactics that the republicans are using right now in some part of Texas and may be nationwide. According to a black supremacist source tied to Farrakhan, Muhammad previously worked as a bodyguard for the Nation of Islam chief.

The Anti-Defamation League identifies the Nation of Islam, the oldest black nationalist organization, as consistently racist and anti-Semitic.

The Nation of Islam operates "under the guise of instilling African-Americans with a sense of empowerment since its founding in the 1930s," reads an ADL description.

This guy is scary.. it's time to worry..

Charles Jameson   October 23rd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

More fear tactics from the McCain crowd. Just how do they intend to carry on domestic and foreign initiatives with a country in fear and an international community that is wary. First, they tried to instill the sense of the "other" in rural whites. Then, they tried the socialism angle. Now semitic loyalties are the latest hook.

I believe that McCain's career will be defined as an outsider within his own party, the Keating-5 scandal and the desperate measures he took to try to gain the highest seat.

As for Palin, when she tries again to run for national office, she cannot rest on the fact that she is "outsider" without little misjudgment that others can call upon to tarnish her. Every single word of fear mongering, every miscall of economics and foreign policy and ultimately the failure of extremist and desperate measures is something with which she is now saddled.

Some 700-club Republicans view her as the rising star and the future face of the GOP. But in order to gain high federal office, you have to know how to work with centrists. And her words will come back to drag her down. I say she will likely be back in Alaska reminscing of the days of Louis Vutton bags in NYC.

Vote4Obama   October 23rd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

This is just a scare tactic for those undecided voters however this late in the game I don't see too many voters changing their position at this time. Having Hillary backing Obama is enough to hold those that have already chosen their candiate. Shame on McCain and those Republicans that think negative advertising is good idea.

Rich from Pholly   October 23rd, 2008 8:25 pm ET

Bush Administration just announced (off the record) that the U.S. will establish an "interests office" in Iran–looks like they think Obama's idea of talking with eneemies may not be all bad–they also recognized regime in North Korea. Cannot believe that jewish voters will be duped by McCain-Lieberman charades.

Ryan   October 23rd, 2008 8:24 pm ET

Does it really matter. BO will win, and under him, we will become the USSA, The united socialist states of america. Please, for the love of God Hilary supporters, prove me wrong.

Joseph Adewole   October 23rd, 2008 8:23 pm ET

McCain and these so called Jewish Group don't represent The Jewish People; McCain don't even know what The Bible says about Jerusalem because he never went to Church neither does he read The Bible. Obama is a good and practising Christian, he reads The Bible daily and he is aware of one fact that God has taken him so far partly because of the LOVE he has for Jerusalem. The Bible says: "Seek yee the peace of Jerusalem and its people so that you will prosper". .........so says The Psalmist says.
Barack knows this and that is what he is doing and that is why he is prosperous; that is why McCain will never get to The Promised Land (The White House). Like Barack, l am a member of The Commonwealth of Israel and Heir to The Thrown. This set of Jews that are carrying these ad better remember that: "WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE".

DEE   October 23rd, 2008 8:23 pm ET

We are not concerned about OBAMA. We are concerned about Economy, Health CARE, Clean Fuel. Thanks for the infomation,

It is over for McCain. So how cares what they said any more. McCain spend too much time attaching Obama and not enough about what he is going to do for the America People. He does not listen from his advisors and Palin is a drag on his ticket. OVER, OVER, AND OVER FOR MCCAIN.

Gracie   October 23rd, 2008 8:22 pm ET

OH... PUH-LEEEEZE.....

What is the McCain-Palin camp doing? I mean, are they just unraveling at every turn? If this wasn't so SAD.... I would be laughing my head off right about now. I just want them to be put out of all this misery. Nov. 4th could NOT come soon enough.

I've HAD ENOUGH OF THESE TWO (McCain-Palin) CLOWNS. It's time to shut down the circus so we can focus on restoring our Country back to it's HONORABLE, RESPECTFUL and CREDIBLE stature, not just here, but around the world.

I'm tired of the US being the laughing stock of the world.

Young Educated Republicans for OBAMA   October 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

NOW WE KNOW THAT EVERY

GROUP HAS THEIR FRINGE PEOPLE.

WHO KNEW ?

JEWS PROMOTING HATE ??

former gop   October 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

You know what's amazing? That Jewish people know more about inciting hatred under false pretenses than any other people in this country. In my opinion, I pity any Jew who would support McCain purely due to his rallies of lies and hate towards Obama.

geo   October 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Why would a Jew be a Repub I can nevr figure that out My wife is Jewish. She hates the repubs Maybe these Jews are from the South?

Herman In LA   October 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Republican are a bunch of whiners..

Jay N.H.   October 23rd, 2008 8:20 pm ET

I would think for this ad to make sense sen. Clinton would have to support McCain but obviously she doesn't. So in that respect this is another red herring.

Charlie Bradley   October 23rd, 2008 8:20 pm ET

Oy Vey!!!!!!

When will we hear from the Log Cabin REpublicans?

Dr. Mimi De La Cruz for OBAMA   October 23rd, 2008 8:20 pm ET

I AM A CATHOLIC & HONESTLY DIDN'T

KNOW ANY PART OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY

SUPPORTED RACIAL HATE ORGANIZATIONS.

IT SEEMS TO ME, THAT, THAT IN ITSELF WOULD

HURT NO ONE MORE THAN THE JEWISH COMMUNITY.

No McCain   October 23rd, 2008 8:19 pm ET

STOP THE HATE ADs PLZ!!!!!!!!!

MikeH   October 23rd, 2008 8:18 pm ET

OK CNN, why are you running a story the police can't substantiate about a woman claiming she was attacked by somone who didn't like her McCain sticker?

If she was at an ATM, where's the camera footage?

Why no comments allowed?

Is this a not-so-subtle anti-Obama propaganda piece?

E.Frank MD   October 23rd, 2008 8:17 pm ET

When I started medical school and by fate was born Jewish, I chose a Jesuit institution because of the discipline I desired: there was an aggressive Jewish fraternity that I would not join. I preferred to choose my friends by other standards than like likes/needs/wants like. The reaction was disappointing: I am equally disappointed that these Jewish organizations have made Jews lumpen. That Jews should vote for the narrow issue of what is good for the Jews, I should vote for. The very poor taste it leaves in my mouth is that these kapos are looking out for their own good...reasoning not based on Torah. Need is the purest form of motivation, these organizations are not pure.

Tracey   October 23rd, 2008 8:17 pm ET

What will be next? Out of touch, ideas and TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neeraj   October 23rd, 2008 8:16 pm ET

Screw these Republicans, even though Hilary is being a little whiner about losing, she's still "got" Obama's back, so they can shove it. I don't mean anything against Jews as a whole (my best buddy is Jewish) but these Republican Jews need to quit bad mouthing Obama just because he doesn't pander to them with false pro-Israel comments.

Credit Card Republicans   October 23rd, 2008 8:15 pm ET

I cant say what I want to say about this AD without being censored, other than it is a total lie.The only Jewish people I know that support McCain are those who make money on wars.

rachel   October 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

These republicans kill me lol. They are so in love with my girl Hillary these days, even though they made her life you know what. Hillary you are one powerful chick, to bad for the republicans Hillary has made it clear who she supports so it wont make a difference. John may share a few of the same views as Hillary but he is no Hillary so saying a couple of things they agree on wont do the trick.

Blue By You   October 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

These mailers are full of lies. Jewish folks know the difference. Clinton has endorsed Obama. Jewish folks will unite and not vote against their own self interests as the GOP hopes.

David Goldman for OBAMA   October 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

ITS NOT LIKE JEWS TO SUPPORT AN INDIVIDUAL

WITH MCBUSH'S AFFILIATIONS. I JUST WONDER

IF THIS GROUP KNOWS & IF THEY DO, HAVE THEY

FORGOTTEN WHAT THEY DID TO US ??

Listen Up...   October 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Everytime I see the word Republican, my brain instantly turns down the volume. They seem to have an agenda for a select group of people and they have pulled out all the stops to protect their way of life. Just STFU and give back the ill-gotten tax breaks you all have had these 8 years already. Obama-Biden 08

No Hillary = No Obama   October 23rd, 2008 8:13 pm ET

WIth Obama's ego being what it is – his sense of grandosity has already fantasized a landslide victory; red states turning blue for him; traditional Republician and conservative strongholds collapsing, giving way to the supreme being, sweeping all battleground states. It won't be enough for him just to squeak by – oh no, he wants a national free fall for him. Listen to how he talks to those iffy states – this guy is a piece of work.

Joman   October 23rd, 2008 8:12 pm ET

You have to give the Republicans points for creativity. They continue to come up with one inane thing after another to find the magic potion to change the electoral map. If it weren't so desperate and vile, it would be sad.

Its like the bees coming out of the mouth of prisoner in the movie "The Green Mile" when he was throwing up the disease that he extracted from the Warden's wife.

The death of the Republican party is a tragically ugly thing to behold indeed.

sandee in Portland   October 23rd, 2008 8:12 pm ET

This is great news if all you are worried about is our foreign policy.

Personally, right now, all I'm worried about is the economy, my job, how I'm going to make my mortgage and car payment, and still put food on my family's table.

Our country is not the savior of the world. We have our own problems that need to be addressed first. Without a strong economy, we are not a strong country and neither is our military. I think it's time we took care of ourselves first.

To bad McCain doesn't agree with Clinton on the economy issues.

Kate Fergus   October 23rd, 2008 8:10 pm ET

More right wing groups who like to take things at face value and out of context. It is easy to take one or two lines spewed during a political campaign and blow them out of proportion.

It is time to really put country first. McCain/Palin will NOT do this. This is evident from the vitriol campaign they have been running. I can't understand how any intelligent person could vote for a man like McCain who has sold his soul to the devil with his vile proclamations.
