Hasselbeck is set to hit the campaign trail.
Hasselbeck is set to hit the campaign trail.

(CNN) – Elizabeth Hasselbeck, the lone conservative on the daytime talk-show "The View," is set to campaign with Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin this weekend.

Hasselbeck, who often clashes with her co-hosts over the presidential election, said Thursday the Alaska governor had asked her to participate in a weekend rally in Florida.

"Governor Palin asked me to be with her this Sunday to introduce her at the rallies in Florida and I am more than honored to be there," Hasselbeck said. "So I will be flying there to travel with her and meet some pretty interesting people, I have a feeling. So that's an honor, I am excited to do it, and I'll have some stories on Monday."

Palin is set to campaign in Iowa, Indiana, and Florida this weekend.

Hasselbeck has engaged in repeated arguments with co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sherri Shepherd on-air over the presidential candidates, especially after the show's unexpectedly hard-hitting interview with John McCain last month.

Do Repubs really think she can help?

If so, throw in the Towel now save us from Arnuld and Kelsey Grammer and the three other conservative celebrities throwing their weight behind Palin

I am sure Elizabeth will do Palin good … what a joke
Elizabeth is the worst host on the view in my opinion
She has a biased mind against anyone who is not part of
the *viper party *(my name for the republicans bc of all the venom they spew)
I dont watch the view bc of her bitter hateful personality
palin and her deserve each other
2 bimbos

Brenna   October 23rd, 2008 1:11 pm ET

First Sarah Palin says she only likes visiting the "Pro-America" parts of this country and she only speaking with the "Pro-American" co-hosts of ABC's "The View."

Good job dividing us, Gov.

ALI   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

I never watched the View until late May. I thought they were to hard on 'That dumb Barbie, but they were right. Whoopi and Sherri claim she is not racist but I can look in her eyes and see the racist. I hope she does leave the view because I can't stand her and I hope Rosie will speak out against her one more time because in my view they are to soft on her.

beth   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Some of you guys are mean. Why can't she support the candidate of her choice? This is America. I voted early for Obama, but you have to lay off people who make a different choice. Some of you obama supporters are starting to sound like hannity.

Jackie   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

As James Brown sang in one of his songs, "They're talking loud and sayin' nothin'!!" Elizabeth will be right in her element because she seems to attack Sen. Obama about and much as McCain and Palin do. They all deserve each other.

Michigan Mom   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Never in my life have I encountered a young woman who seems as close-minded and intolerant as Elizabeth.

My favorite Elizabeth moment on The View was of her sharing how she takes her children's books, and blacks out sentences she doesn't approve of with magic marker. If I remember correctly, one of the books she altered was Babar, because cousin Elephants can't get married.

She and Palin will make the perfect team.

Joyce   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Again, poor judgment on the Republicans' part. I, along with most people I know, find Elizabeth incredibly annoying so I find it hard to believe she can sway any voters. She's the reason I stopped watching The View. I have no problem with her being on a different side of the political spectrum, but I can't stand the fact that she never offers an original opinion. She simply parrots (very shrilly) the standard Republican talking points. She seems incapable of actually having an intelligent discussion, and can't support her view points other than to just keep repeating the same, worn out phrases. However, she is good at repeating what she's been told by the Republican campaign machine so she and Palin have a lot in common.

Matt   October 23rd, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Tell me you Sarah haters (you know who you are), do you honestly think you could do better?

I highly doubt any of you could speak in a roomful of people let alone in front of millions via national television and 1,000's live at rallies. So sit back relax go finish your kool-aid.

Just remember 4 years from now when someone is running against Obama and just see if you feel the same way you do now. Most of you won't admit that you are voting BECAUSE Obama is black. We will see if that is enough to solve the problems this country faces. I just hope when your blogging 4 years from now, you don't say….what did I ever see in him? You know buyers' remorse!

And, yes, Sarah Palin would make a far better president than either "the One" or Joe the gaffer. If Obama wins, he'll be a rubber stamp for Pelosi's agenda. Now THERE is a woman who needs to be criticized for her stupidity……

George   October 23rd, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Well, the McShame camp called Obama a celebrity but they are the ones using celebrites to boost their standing. They are trying every thing under the Sun to win this race. McShame sold his sole for this race and when he loses, he should retire because no one will respect him as much as they did before.

Great. The blonde leading the blind. Maybe they can go on another $150,000 shopping spree together. I'm still trying to figure out how Palin can buy $150,000 worth of outfits for herself and her family, and still think she's "Joe Sixpack/Soccer Mom", while calling Obama an elitist. My family and I ARE a Joe Sixpack family. We probably haven't spent $150K on clothes in our entire lives. I know, I know, people say the leader of a country (she's not a leader, but she plays one in the campaign) needs to look good. Got no problem with that, but don't tell me you're "one of us" when you're spending that kind of money on yourself. Hope you bought warm clothes. You'll need them when you get back to Alaska on November 5th.

frank jones   October 23rd, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Regardless of how many days Obama has spent in the Senate, he has no where near the experience that John McCain has. Just because he is a very robust speaker and slick talker does not qualify him to lead a nation in the time of need.

When she argues with the other ladies on the view, I really think there is an naive ignorance on her part of what it's like to see a hate filled lynch mob in action. At least I hope that's what it is.

Karen, Arkansas   October 23rd, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Well maybe this will help Ms. Leading and her bid to be the all powerful VP….

Conservative looking for my party   October 23rd, 2008 1:03 pm ET

This GOP campaign is a joke. The amount of hypocracy spewing forth from McCain's mouth is a travesty. It is shameful and sad to see how far he has fallen. He seems to have no convictions and core values anymore. He is erratic, angry, unsure of himself. His judgment is poor, reactionary and risky. Palin is self-serving, too inexperienced and not ready for Primetime as they say. Combined, this is one of the least inspiring tickets in my lifetime. Where did my fiscally conservative party go? Where did my party of inclusion and unity go?

I am a strong pro-life proponent, but cannot in good conscience vote for McCain/Palin. Obama will not get my vote certainly, but McCain has done nothing to prove that he deserves it either.

Jane Doe   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Too bad, so sad for Palin…she's going to need more help than that! Why don't you take a copy of the US Constitution along with you and a thesaurus so she can learn some alternate words ;-)

Indiana Vol   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

How sad that Elizabeth is going to campaign with Palin. I can not understand how any Christian can support the politics of hate-lies-division-and-hate that the Republicans spew.

Elizabeth is wrong.

PLEASE AMERICA WE MUST REJECT THE POLITICS OF HATE-LIES-DIVISION-AND-FEAR!

How can you vote for a party that supports killing the unborn???

California Voter   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Wow the SEXIST comments on this blog are appalling!!! Apparently, it is all right to make outright sexist comments, but even a hint of being against Obama means that one is racist? Give me a break. Are there really that many sexists around? I guess this blog answers that question.

Beah   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

YES…you both deserve one another. Both narrow minded people who do not want to expand their horizon and see what other people has to offer. SURVIVORS READY GO! I don't watch Survivor or The View anymore because I have more important things to do.

TexasAlien   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Hey Floridans, brace up for an attack of the bimbos! And whatever y'all do, please don't make Lizzy bust into tears on the stage as she is wont to do on The View. Who knows? Maybe Sarah will appoint her TV Regulation Commissioner in Alaska when she goes back home after their loss on November 4 (that is hoping the Alaska legislature would not have impeached her by then).

Conservative James, Phoenix, AZ   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

This should be good. Between the two of them, they may produce one synapse for one one-hundreth of a second.

Sarah.....and my last name isn't Palin!   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

This campaign is trying to get men back… Shameless way to do that. And these women just let them use them that way. I'm not sure which is worse.

Good luck!

Obama/Biden '08

Stephen   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

You're all so right, they've made it to where they are because they're stupid..and you all are so much smarter. Thanks for your input, but I'm pretty sure that most of the country doesn't give a crap what you, cnn, nbc, abc, and cbs have to say…they're just Obama campaign surrogates. Here's what I have to say to all of the above named networks and the poster's on this site…screw you and the horse you rode in on…change is just a word, not an action, think about that.

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Just another reason for me to cast my vote for Obama/Biden. He's Presidential, intelligent, steady under pressure, experienced, makes great judgement, and I could go on. We need an Obama Presidency!! America can't afford McCain/Palin two people judging by the Brian Williams interview don't even feel comfortable with each other.

SoCal   October 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm ET

CNN where are the issues!

You just keep repeating all the kind of PR and distractions coming from the McCain campaign…

I've had enough!

JLM   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Dumb and dumber!

Lorna Mae, Prescott AZ   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Elizabeth is cooler than John Mellencamp too!

Good thinking Sarah!!!

I loved Bill O'Reilly on the view yesterday. Boy did he ever give those closed minded woman (Barbara and Joy) just the medicine they deserved. They act like just like the MSM has in this campaign…they (sorry CNN) are in the tank for Obama and don't even try to show any impartiality.

Rob in Sacramento   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

yup, between them they might be able to spell vice-president. wait, maybe just vice…

Kerry from Anchorage   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Maybe the view would hire Sarah and then we won't have to put up with her in Alaska. Then I could just TURN HER OFF! She is going to be so mad when she loses in 12 days and watch out Alaska when that happens!

giri d   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

What a combination…

Lilarose in Bandon-by-the-Sea, Oregon   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Good!

That puts two DINGBATS on the road and away from TV programming, if only for a few moments.

Folks! I voted two days ago! Here in Oregon! We have vote-by-mail.

I will NEVER understand why the nation doesn't go with this kind of voting. No hanging chads, no voter fraud, no polls you are too tired to go to so you don't vote, no bad weather problems, no not understanding the balloting process, and on and on!

Oregon's vote tally on November 4 will be the fastest in the nation.

dee   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

dumb and dumber! hahaha

undecided   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

At least Elizabeth will be amoung "normal" people this week end.

I can't see how she puts up with those idiots that she works with day after day after day. She is about the only reason that I watch the show, with the exception of Barbara Walters. If she ever decides to leave, they will loose me as a viewer, along with a lot of others, and I'm sure that their ratings would plummet.

Dana from NY   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

TO:Democrat Against Palosi- stop trying to nit pick about something that has nothing to do with anything. After his Indiana event he will be leaving to Hawaii to be with his very ill grandmother, I believe the Madison event was scheduled for later this afternoon which YES had to be cancelled… you want proof or something that she is hurt and sick??? You people are so twisted I swear! The woman practically raised him- so dam right he is going to go see her, come back with an issue to debate about or go blog on fix news!

Fran   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Elizabeth, You are great. The View is so unkind to you. I can not stand Joy Behar. She is OBNOXIOUS!!! I loved your t-shirt.

Why doesn't someone jump on the statement of Barack saying he visited all 57 states in his speech in Oregon the other day. If this had been Bush, McCain or Palin, all the media, including SNL, Leno & Letterman, Larry King, Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric would hav been all over it!!!!!

Blue By You   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Please keep her and take her back to Alaska with you!

Pam   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Maybe Brittany Spears can join them.

Casey   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Didn't they already kick her off the island?

Mistake   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

don't do it Elizabeth! it's a trap that you will never be able to shake. 4 or 8 years from now when she's running against somebody that you actually WANT TO SEE IN OFFICE, they will use your clips against you. don't do it.

Matthew in Philadelphia   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Good for Elizabeth. Will she be having the Governor on the show to answer questions?

FreeNLovIt   October 23rd, 2008 1:01 pm ET

McCain DID not CARRY his economic WEIGHT. This is why he is behind in the polls. He kicked off his economic message, tripped and he has been tripping ever since the ECONOMY crashed.

One know-nothing to introduce another know-nothing. Neither one of them can think for themselves. Its talk points only.

ST   October 23rd, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Interesting. She has got to be the most annoying person on TV. I can't imagine a lot of people listening to anything Melissa has to say. She is the reason I stopped watching the view when I was home during the day.

gallimimus   October 23rd, 2008 1:00 pm ET

I'm sure that will draw a bunch of votes for McCain. Good for Obama, this could hurt his campaign more than help. Way to go Sara, keep up the good work, being a drain on the campaign.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum……..epitamy of Republican strategy. With a team like that……..Obama could take a hiatus from the campaign trail.

NIKI   October 23rd, 2008 1:00 pm ET

they belond to the same bag.
Whenever I watched the View I always wandered what was wrong with her
Now I get it. She is a delusional Palin supporter.
why is she even talking about this on the show any way?

My friends, John McCain is a hypocrite and Sarah Palin is a joke !

HiFi   October 23rd, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Two mindless bimbos on the same stage…add up their IQ's and they still aren't smarter than a 5th (or 3rd) grader.

FreeNLovIt   October 23rd, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Good for her!!! Some news were saying that Palin is dragging the ticket down.

StOP blaming failed policies on a WOMAN. She was BRAVE and she HELD her own ground. It was McCain that did not KICK OFF when the economy crash.

Again, McCain's economic views did not resonate with Americans. Palin was the perfect boost in the arms to counter Obama.

If W did NOT TRASH the economy, the McCain/Palin TICKET would have WON!!!! as predicted by Hillary.

Obama started going down South in the pole and then the economy rescued him. He fought with the Clintons and it TORE up the Demo Dogs.

It's the ECONOMY and W that busted McCain's ticket, not Palin.

Kevin   October 23rd, 2008 12:58 pm ET

you're not getting the women votes Mrs. Palin. And glad you find someone as "smart" as you to help you out

Obama/Biden 08

Shame Shame I Know your name GOP   October 23rd, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Elizabeth is a child, she has little life experience to draw from this is her main reason for being a Rep. If she lived in the real world like most Americans she would see the light.

Rich--Fargo   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Would it be too much to ask to actually have someone that understands the world on or working for the Republican ticket?

Republican Woman for Obama   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

OMG. I have no respect for Elizabeth. This move again, only motivates the base. I wish ABC would fire Elizabeth, we know she would have a job at Fauxnews.

David, Hartford   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Seems odd for a polarizing woman to choose another polarizing woman to pal around with her, but, whatever. Haven't been making good decisions so far, so why start now.

John   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

So then we'd see a blonde Barbie and a brunette Barbie on the same stage! Cool! Like that's supposed to help McCain now?

Brendose, Oceanside CA   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Trying to line up the pretty ones for votes?

ROFL!

This isn't a beauty paegent Palin, or did you forget? This for the most powerful position in the world, and you just don't cut it!

Curchel   October 23rd, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I can't believe "The View" would be ok with this. I can't picture them being on ok with Behr if she said she was stumping with Obama. All this is pushing the line.

A lovely, smart woman, who unfortnately is a GOP Parrot. She repeats just about the same lines as Gov. Palin, except she sounds more intelligent.
