(CNN) - Barack Obama appears to be widening his lead over John McCain as Election Day inches closer.
According to the latest CNN poll of polls, the Illinois senator now holds a 9-point advantage over McCain nationwide, 51 percent to 42 percent.
That's an increase of two points over the last two days for Obama and a reflection of several national polls that suggest the race seems to be headed in the wrong way for the Arizona senator with only a week and a half remaining.
Included in the latest CNN poll of polls are new surveys from ABC/Washington Post (October 19-22), CBS/NYT (October 19-22), Fox/Opinion Dynamics (October 20-21), Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby (October 20-22), Gallup (October 20-22) and Diageo/Hotline (October 20-22).

Can you imagine what election night will be like if Obama sews it up by the time the polls close in the eastern time zone? What the heck will Blitzer, Gasbag Dobbs, and John King talk about?
WHATEVER YOU DO GUYS DONT BELIEVE THE POLLS GET OUT AND VOTE AND MAKE SURE YOUR INFOS ARE ALL RIGHT SO THAT YOUR VOTES CAN BE COUNTED.
Well, untra-rightist groups like "Let Freedom Ring" are out flooding the airwaves (primarily TV) with the sleathiest of ads, ads that would make the Willie Horton ad against Dukakis look like nothing. There will be much more of these fear-mongering, despicable efforts by the NRC all the way to Nov. 4.
Fortunately, Americans are beginning to understand their dirty tricks! No more! we will not be hoodwinked any more. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
The polling discrepancy is easy to explain. AP is a wire service, not a polling service. ANYONE can submit a "story" to AP. Is the light coming on yet? Desperation is setting in, and they are resorting to outright lying, hoping that between that and the electronic machine control, they just might sneak out another cheating win! Vote early folks, so your vote will be counted by hand!
I hear a lot about polls four years...that Kerry was supposedly up and lost, and that this year will be the same.
That's a load of garbage, for several reasons:
1) In 2004, we had declared war the year before, which always raises the public's favoring the incumbent.
2)It's the economy, stupid: in 1992, when Clinton won by a landslide, the economy was bad, but not this bad. Skyrocketing unemployment, plunging stockmarkets, recession fears (if we're not already in one), a GDP trade deficit of nearly 850 billion, and a national debt of more than 10 trillion will certainly trump racism.
3)Approval ratings of the Republicans are at a historic low.
To all GOP supporters, be very scared! You will lose senate races in VA, CO, NM, NC, NH, and even AL. You will not take back Landrieu's seat in LA. Moreover, the house will have an even larger "socialist" majority.
And you know what? I can't wait!!!!!
Obama should be 20 point ahead considering the kind of campaign the McBush/Palin is running. The two of them would be an ABSOLUTE DISASTER FOR THE UNITED STATE if they were to be elected.
It's time once again for some truth and honestly again in government.

Poll of polls..hahahha. I wonder who are these pollsters and who were the people they were talking about. The figures of the silent majority won't like but the figures of the silent minority always lies.
Hey you pollsters, I got a job for you. Can you make a poll as to when can we catch Bin Laden? Can you make a poll as to when the US economy will be more than better?
A vote should be earned, one should not blindly support a "donkey" or an "elephant" because that is what they think they are supposed to do. With all due respect to Senator Obama, he is / was (different man now) the perfect candidate for Senator McCain. John McCain has not presented a single reason to earn my vote.
History will not be kind to George Bush, I voted for him twice. Dole's nomination was a parting gift from the Republican party, he campaigned fairly well – I voted for him. John McCain does not appear to have put any thought into meaningful planning, tactics or strategies.
Hillary Clinton gave him the blue print, it was right there for him to continue (with dignity) the "attack" and the momentum she had. Well, such is life, he is extemely wealthy and will get over this. I love movies, after months of this, here is the final analysis:

These liberal polls are wrong, wrong, wrong. Too many polls show Obamarxist in a big lead because more democrats are polled than republicans, therefore you will get skewed numbers. You want an accurate poll, look at the IBT poll.
It ain't (mostly) over until the Republicans have been removed from power in the Executive branch of government.
We are still at risk for martial law so long as Bush is still president, and corrupt facist Republicans control the federal prosecuters.

Mike– CNN does professional work and their polls are base on the average of other polls. That's why they call it the "Poll of Polls". Stop being a hater and just accept the fact that John McCain is behind and will continue to be behind until he figures out his focus should be on the people and not trying to bring down Obama.
I think these polls seem too good to be true and are too good to be true,there are going to be a little suprises on election night.
