This is great news for Obama, but it ain't over 'til it's over. Obama shouldn't be scheduling the confetti/balloon drop yet. It will be a long few days. Anything can happen, and the McCain/Palin team have proven themselves try ANYTHING. Palin is now making more veiled statements that property and profits under Obama's plan will be "shared". This is a backhanded way of calling him a communist (socialists don't share property, per se). Of course, it's also probably that Palin doesn't know the difference between communism and socialism, even though she can see a communist country, when someone points it out to her on a globe.

It will really be interesting to see if the cable stations, who lost a large percentage of viewers because of political bias, will get them back once the election is over. Having experienced 12 presidential elections, this the first one ever seen to be so biased toward the Democratic ticket. Even Fox News, who usually has a definite leaning toward conservative candidates, became more tolerant toward one party and candidate over the other. One of the most noticeable occurrences where the written media was concerned is that they always had biased lead stories with biased headlines in stories dealing with Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. A perfect example of this is today's story headline, "Palin 'going rogue'...." And probably the most consistent user of such negative statements has been Jack Cafferty in his question of the day. He really worked Hillary over! I always thought the media was supposed to be fair with a 50/50 treatment of the candidates. Have I been wrong! Anyway, the day following November 4 is one that is eagerly awaited. Then everybody can take a deep breath and start criticizing the winner!

Maybe if these polls covered other candidates too, we'd be seeing less showing up as "undecided." The 1 or 2 polls I saw that included others showed Libertarian Bob Barr @ 2-3% and tired old Nader @ 1-2%. If pollsters are only giving people 3 options (Obama, McCain, not sure), that implies that people can ONLY be for one or the other. They should AT LEAST have choices of Obama, McCain, OTHER, or Not Sure.

It is very important for every supporter of Barack Obama to remember to vote. The polls look good, but they don't do any good if you don't get out their and cast your ballot. Please do not be complacent, this election is far too important to our future and our childrens' futures.

Now, in regard to a previous comment board: Someone wrote: "MSNBC had reported about this group and how it is linked to the McCain Campaign. 2 Campaign officials from CA and AZ are part of this as well. It is called Young Progressive Majority…."

Correction: The Young Progressive Majority is reputable and has not been accused of any wrong doing. The Young Political Majors group is the organization that has seen recent arrests of their executives and employees due to fraudulently registering people in California as Republicans. This group was hired by the RNC and committed registration fraud.

    I have a question:

I see more and more posts everyday about Obama not being elgible to run for president because he supposedly is not a U.S. citizen because he was born in Kenya not Hawaii. Aside from the fact that Factcheck.org and other independant agencies have stated his Hawaiin birth certifiate is legit- wouldn't he still be a U.S. citizen, even if born outside of U.S. territory, since his mother was a U.S. citizen?

I know that if you are born on U.S. soil, whether your parents are citizens or not, you are considered a U.S. citizen. So wouldn't it make sense that the child of a U.S. citizen born in another country while their mother is vacationing would still be a citizen since their parents are?

Some one please clarify if you could. I think its a dead issue anyways since I believe he WAS born in Hawaii, but if my logic is correct then it wouldnt matter anyways.

    @Sneaky pete
look at Wikipedia's page on Natural-born citizen.
Natural-born citizen is the wording the constitution uses.
Obama is for sure a Natural-born citizen, since he was born in a US state.
McCain on the other hand.... there is a debate whether he is or not a Natural-born citizen. Both of his parents were US citizens of course but he was not born in a US state but rather on a US base in the Panama Canal Zone. According to the law McCain is a US citizen but whether he is a Natural-born citizen is not very clear, though because McCain is a republican, no one attacks him over this issue because it is just a matter of wording and is just in the need of some legal clarifying.

    Hey, sneaky pete!

Obama WAS born in Hawaii. His FATHER was from Kenya and was studying at the university in Hawaii, which is where he met Obama's mom. There's plenty of proof. Amazing that there are still so many blatant lies out there, isn't it?

And, though it doesn't have anything to do with Obama, if a child is born in another country to a U.S. citizen – either mother or father – the child IS a U.S. citizen. And, in some cases, can have dual citizenship.

The "rogue" Palin is funnier and scarier than the "controlled" Palin. I believe the polls will continue to increase for Obama as voters get to know more about this exaggerator, liar and fear monger.

There is no truth left of her claims to be against the bridge to nowhere, the pipeline that is far from being a done deal (the Canadians especially have not had their say and it is THEIR country it will run through) and her claim of being against earmarks and accepting favours of 150 000 dollars for clothing and money for family members for trips.

Excuse me, Brian for Business, the American People are already losing their jobs and have less money after 8 years of George Bush. Free market, what Free market. Bush has already socialized our markets...Profits to the rich and losses to the American Taxpayer.

We can't afford 4 more years of the SAME!!!

You would have to be born in the us to become a President and some people, unfortunately, dont know their own country and think Hawaii is a different country. This is why we need an Obama administration to help make our education system better. Its pure education and with education, President Bush even would not have been elected by people in 2004.

It's the state polls that matter. Obama can win the popular vote and still lose the election. That's why it's important for Obama supporters to vote. Don't trust the polls, just get out and vote.

You'd be right , except the mother would have to have been 18 years of age , which Obama's mother wasn't. Doesn't matter because The Hawaii Dept of Health has allready declared Barack Hussein Obama is a Legal citizen of the United States of America and they further confirmed his birth certificate is legitimate and in good standing.

    Hey Brian for Business,

Maybe you haven't noticed that your wonderful Republican government is wasting $10 billion per month on an unnecessary war, just took $700 billion more from us to bail out your crooked, greedy, rich Wall St. friends, and has run up the biggest deficits in history. And, at the same time, they have alienated almost the entire world with our "go-it-alone, we're the US, we can do anything we want" foreign policy. Yes, it's time for a change and, once again, we need a Democrat to clean up the huge mess your fellow Republicans have made.

"Government can't doe (sic) anythign (sic) well, let alone run our economy."

So – you don't care for our roads, military, space program, primary school system, fire and police departments, etc, etc, etc.?!?!?

'Brian for Business' government IS the American Way of Life – in so far as it is the expression of the collective will of the American people. You, I, – like it or not – can't 'go it alone'. That is a myth your party has sold you; think about it, get over it, move on! Even Greenspan has (recently) realized that the so-called 'Free Market' needs regulation.

    "Gullible idiots = American people."

Yup – that was the story of the LAST TWO election cycles – gullible, but mostly, fearful. And much of the fear was CREATED by your party. So sad. Hopefully, folks have learned something over the last., dismal, eight years!

Someome please tell me why? Because I haven't been able to make any sense from it. Iraq doesn't want us there, get us out.

Sen. Obama will get us out. Thank God theres still some sanity left in this country. With the huge amounts of money that are being spent in Iraq maybe we can again regain some of our standing in the world, and shift our economy to better times.

According to US immigration rules at the time of Barack's birth, he would not qualify to be a US citizen if her were born in Kenya. That is why they are forging his birth certificate to look as though he was born in Hawaii. The fact is his mother couldn't fly at the time so she had the child in Kenya before flying him to Hawaii.

Fact is Barack is not eligible to be President, but do you think the media or anybody is willing to look into this? Absolutely not, he is the Messiah, rules don't apply to the Messiah.

About two centuries ago, Sir Alex Fraser Tyler (1747-1813) captured the essence of the situation we face when he said,

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

    Maureen I agree.

Even Alan Greenspan, the champion of deregulation during his tenure (which spanned the Reagan to Bush Jr years), has just testified before Congress that he was wrong about the Market's "Invisible Hand" being able to self-regulate business, keeping it in line with the interests of it's investor.

He said his understanding of the economic model was "flawed" and he made a "mistake"

John McCain, would seek to continue to spread the wealth...from bottom to top, and that's just as unfair as top to bottom has been 20 of the past 28 years.

Obama's plan is just undoing what has been done the past 8 years. McCain can't realistically think he can pay for his plan if no one if paying the piper.

Yes, Obama would still be an American citizen regardless of where he was born due to his Mother being an American. However, the US constitution states that to run for POTUS, one must be a naturalized citizen (born on American soil) OR if one is born in a foreign land, then BOTH parents must have been American citizens – to be able to be POTUS, that is.

Republicans controlled the WH, Senate and Congress for 6years and wrecked havoc to the economy through the so-called DEREGULATED Free Market Economy and where did that get us today? The Democrats took over in 2006 and tried to introduce a REGULATED Free Market but they keep getting a VETO from GWB or their effort keep getting defeated due to their narrow lead majority in Congress.
Now that there is an economic crisis everybody is blaming the current congressional leadership and calling for REGULATIONS. Where were these calls btw 2000 and 2006? I think we need to call a spade, a SPADE. A REGULATED FREE MARKET ECONOMY IS THE BEST AND WILL CURTAIL WALL STREET EXCESSES.

Brian for Business -"Change can also be a mistake."

Are you kidding me fool? The Republican ticket hasn't provided ONE alternative to this economic mess we're in. There's nothing that can happen now but change because change is inevitable. WHAT has mccain offered that's different than Bush on economic policies? Please, give me ONE example.

The whole idea of "trickle down econmics" is completely ridiculous as its what got us here in the first place. There have been so many lost jobs due to outsourcing and other means and we weren't protected from this ludicrous idea of running the country.

McCain has no new suggestions for the economy and what he does suggest follows the same principles that the bush administration has offered.

This election is more than winning or losing for either candidate and I feel McCain is more focused on winning the election than wanting to gear our country in a better direction, thus making him to not discuss the real issues.

"When you lose your job and have less money after these three clowns ruin the American way of free markets, don't come crying to me."

Been there, done that under Bush, Cheney and McCain. Remember what happened last time we had a Democratic president? Job & wage growth? Budget surpluses? Funny how all the deficits and financial scandals (remember the S & L debacle?) happen under Republican presidents pushing deregulation.

McCain's guru, Phil Gramm, said Clinton's tax plans would cause a major recession and destroy the economy. Instead we had a great run–until the Republicans took control.

CNN along with ABC, CBS, MSNBC has shown America just how bias and unfair they can be. I have never seen such one sided coverage for anyone as you have shown for McCain. You people decided who you wanted to win and then used the power of the media to lock Obama in. You have taken the rights of Americans to choose. I have lost loved ones who fought for the freedom of this country, to give us rights, and the media abused its power. You will pay for such abuse as time goes by because Americans know what you did. Obama might very well win but we will never know if he won because he was the pick of the people. We were not informed about everything about this man and that was the bias medias choosing. You made the decision of what Americans would know and what they would not know. This will be remembered and if things don't go good for America you will be part of the blame. I as an American feel very cheated by such unfair and bias news coverage.

These people talking these lies that Obama was born in Kenya and want to see his birth certificate needs to get a life. They have listen to McCain and Palin for so long they actually are beginning to beleive them about what Obama is hiding. It does not matter where Obama was born even though it was in HAWAII his mother was an american citizen so that would make him an american citizen. If there was any truth to your false claims how on earth would he have become a senator and lied about his birth place.Just accept the fact that lies like Rezko,Ayers,Paling with terriost ,and not loving his country because he's anti american but there are people that are voting for him (which the polls speak for themselves)do not agree with you.McCain is behind because of people like you that want to divide this country and put fear in them. And by the way Palin don't help the ticket with her anti american remarks. He thought picking this woman he would get Hillary's supporters to secure his nomination but the majority of those supporters surprised him in letting him know that they were not as stupid as he thought they were. This woman is no Hillary Clinton. He never spoke against George Bush until this week because he is grasping for whatever breath his campaign have.Throwing Bush under the busthis week is too late after voting alongside with him 90% of the time and still he think we are stupid. If you McCain supporters have been happy for the last eight years under Bush and 90% of McCain what planet were you on under Bush because you certainly have not been on this planet

Isn't it funny that the right-wing trolls (like "sneaky pete".....puleez!) wonder about Obama's being born in Hawaii but turn a blind eye to the fact that McCain was not born in the U.S. ........ was born in Panama, if memory serves, but is a U.S. citizen nonetheless.

    sneaky pete:

The charge is false and, pardon me for saying so, anyone who still believes taht Obamam was born in Kenya after 21 months of HIllary and McCain tearing through every aspect of his life is either naive, under a rock, or just plain looking for anything, anything to hang their hat on not voting for the Dmocratic ticket.

As a way of comparison, however, it is confirmed that John Sidney McCain, the son of a US Navy Admiral, was born in Panama City, Panama (Latin (South) America). Obviously, he's still been deemed qualified to run for the office of the President.

But you have to wonder if all his talk in the last debate about Obama needing to visit South America isn't born out of a secret kinship with his country men and women of the region of his birth. (That's my own Karl Rovian/GOP attack slander email talking point)

This is now the time for change. For those of you who are not use to change, well get ready. We must stay focused, better educate ourselves and become less dependent on systems. Take a long look at how we are living as individuals and figure out how you got to where you are today. We all must stop blaming others and do more to help bring greater changes in our own lives.

Remember that no one person have all the answers on anything. Keep the faith, hope, learn to trust and most of all be patient.

sneaky pete: Obama was born in Hawaii. There have been several photo analysis done to prove that there is a raised seal that bleeds through from the back along with a signature.

This is just another example of pathetic right wing smears on Obama.

Wouldn't you think that after 2 years of running that if he didn't have a valid birth certificate it would have been proven a long time ago – like before the primaries?

The Republicans want you to be scared of Obama because they are scared of losing all of their power. Plain and simple.

Many, Many more of us feel that same grief for the loss of our loved ones and the soldiers who are coming home so broken in body, mind and spirit. Take heart in the fact that Iraq will be over soon for not only us but also for the Iraq people who certainly didn't ask George Bush/ John McCain/Don Rumsfeld and the rest of that murdering lot to invade their country.. To Brian for Business: Job losses you say? How about 750,000 in the past 12 months. Higher taxes? For the top 5%. Less money? How about 11 trillion dollars of national debt, half of which was run up by the current administration. Even when the economy was good, the Bush administration ran a $500 billion deficit. Obamma supporters want to get back to peace and prosperity.
