Tensions within the McCain-Palin campaign are spilling into the public. A McCain aide told CNN that Gov. Palin is a 'diva.'

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (CNN) – With 10 days to go until election day, long brewing tension between Sarah Palin and key aides to John McCain has become so intense, it is spilling out into the public.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin “going rogue” recently, while a Palin associate says she is simply trying to “bust free” of what she believes was a mishandled roll-out that damaged her.

McCain sources point to several incidents where Palin has gone off message, and privately wonder if they were deliberate. For example: labeling robo calls “irritating,” even as the campaign was defending the use of them and telling reporters she disagreed with the campaigns controversial decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source tells CNN she appears to now be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

  1. PROUD AMERICAN FOR OBAMA

We need to SHUT THIS WOMAN DOWN.........It was a fluke that she ever became Gov, and a bigger fluke to get the nomination.....I am sure that John McCain regrets his political stunt now... Now Sarah go home to Alaska and deal with the mess waiting for you........For all you "Really Patrotic" Americans please follow her to Alaska.......

Are we surprised that she is doing all that? She is a very divisive person, whether it's to do with her party or her country. A good leader does not do that. Hopefully those people who are following her will open their eyes before November 4. So far her speeches, as well as John McCain's, are attack, attack, but with no clearly laid out plans as to what they are going to do concerning the issues important to the American people.

It is quite obvious that Palin is looking out for herself. She knows that her own brand has been tarnished and she is trying to save face in order to run for 2012 and perhaps even a senate run (see Senator Stevens court tragedy unfolding). Should McCain lose, one of the questions that will come up is why did he choose Palin instead of a safer Pawlenty, Huckabee, or Romney?. Anyone who follows politics knows that this was a shotgun wedding of sorts (McCain: You Palin Woman help me with the base, my campaign is hemmorhaging" Palin: you old maverick, I don't care about you or your party its about me get it!"). McCain's campaign is going down and neither Palin or Joe the Plumber can save it.

The McCain campaign just needs to sit Palin down...she's so clueless and gimmicky...that it's become comical...and where do they get this notion that she's the most famous Governor in the U.S of A...no-one ever heard of her until he selected her...

Palin was a poor choice. Most women should have been able to determine that within minutes of seeing her. She did not rise to her position as Governor based on her intelligence. She got there because she is unethical and will do anything to gain power. She is a diva. She is a power seeker. Unfortunately, she is not intelligent enough to pull off the role.

I don't blame her! I personally don't support the McCain/Palin ticket, but more power to her for trying to be more herself. McCain's campaign is obviously all over the place and back and forth so I think she should try and "bust free" as much as she can because if it stays on the current course, it looks like Obama is going to win and Palin will be on her own to defend herself, she has a bigger future ahead of herself then McCain does, he's pretty much done after this.

wow, now the MCcain staff see Palin for what she is. I can't believe the RNC chose someone to energize the base when the base is the only thing they got. I am giving advice for free to the RNC please consult me as soon as possible.

thats what happens when you pick a beauty queen. She will run in 2012 and win her party nomination, but no one will ever vote for her, she tried to ban books, abused her power, and is charging women who were raped $2000.00 for a rape kit, she is pitiful. President obama will win in 2008 and 2016.

Only message Palin hears inside her empty head is 'God is great'. She is an empty headed religious fanatic.

    Cheers!

Is this the type of person we want running our government if McCain were to die? She's willing to stab her whole party in the back so that she can have a shot at 2012, but doesn't she realize that her party will not respect her after ruining it for McCain?

Way to go Palin!!! I was just talking to a friend about this very issue. It did seem as though they set her up to fail. Maybe if she wasn't John McCain's running mate, she might have casted herself in a better spotlight. Who knows.

    Vote Obama/Biden!!!

Don't let the stump speeches fool you: she'll be a Wahsington insider as soon as 2012 if not 2010. And for anyone who thinks Bush/Cheney was bad for the country, heaven forbid we ever have to get through a Palin/? administration.

LOL, i am not at all surprised; this was clearly evident in her strong will and character from the beginning. I applaud her! The way McCain aides have been running the campiagn is pathetic. Americans do not like to receive telemarketing calls, nor do they like receiving campaign calls; they are both irritating, as anyone with common sense knows. Likewise, the campaign has stumbled in focusing on attacking Obama on trivial, vague matters, such as the Bill Ayers connection.
I am voting for McCain, but his aides have not always done a good job of advising, etc. And Palin has the brains to know.

she has no idea of anything to do with how a country should run or what a VP's responsibilities are. Does she really see herself as a canditate for the presidency next time. She must be dreaming. She is the laughing stock of both parties.
