Tensions within the McCain-Palin campaign are spilling into the public. A McCain aide told CNN that Gov. Palin is a 'diva.'

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (CNN) – With 10 days to go until election day, long brewing tension between Sarah Palin and key aides to John McCain has become so intense, it is spilling out into the public.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin “going rogue” recently, while a Palin associate says she is simply trying to “bust free” of what she believes was a mishandled roll-out that damaged her.

McCain sources point to several incidents where Palin has gone off message, and privately wonder if they were deliberate. For example: labeling robo calls “irritating,” even as the campaign was defending the use of them and telling reporters she disagreed with the campaigns controversial decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source tells CNN she appears to now be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

One word comes to mind when thinking of Ms. Palin – "hubris." Ultimately it will bring her down. She is a silly, yet dangerous example of where we are today.

After watching her doing her own thing and behaving as an entertainer instead of a candidate for vice president, it is clear she will listen to no one and go for her own self-aggrandizement. This does not speak well of a politician who is guided by advisors. We do not need a loose cannon in the White House. That attitude is that of a dictator, not a leader of democracy.

Please Obama save us from 2012. I could not imagine that woman being president. Does she really think she is capable of running this country. Incredible.

Sarah Palin is dangerous for our country. She is not qualified to be President of the United States of America or the Vice President, or any other position in Washington. She is hungry for power and will stop at nothing to get it. Just look at the investigations being swept under the rug in Alaska. John McCain made a very big mistake when he chose her......

At least she's smart enough to look out for herself. The McCain campaign sougt and tried to use Palin to their advantage and now she's returning the favor.

As McCain was portrayed on SNL, Palin is also mentally unstable and dangerously unbalanced. Period!

The only future I see for Palin is showbiz (which isn't bad). She has caused too much bad blood among 'Real' 'Pro' American voters. If she already thinks she's a diva she'll have problems in showbiz, because there are already too many of them in Hollywood. She is deceitful, manipulative, and divisive. The only career she's suited for is that of a bounty hunter.

Let's shut up media about Palin. Use that ink for something more uplifting!

If this woman thinks she can lead the Republican Party, she is dead wrong. How can a semi educated wench be a leader of a great party like ours? She is unqualified. Period!

Ahhhhh.... remember the days when the McCain campaign mocked Obama as a celebrity and a diva (he eats arugula!)? Now they know what a diva really looks like. And Obama is laughing all the way to the White House. Who says there is no justice in this world?

If S.PALIN HAS TRULY GONE ROGUE THEN SHE IS UNFIT TO BE A V.P. AND OR A PRESIDENT !!!!!
THIS ALSO KILLS ONCE AND FOR ALL THE QUESTION OF OBAMA'S
    JUDGEMENT.
THIS SHOW THE LACK OF JUDGEMENT ON THE PART OF MCCAIN!!!
THIS EXTREMELY SERIOUS IF SHE HAS GONE ROGUE
    AND MCCAIN WINS
HOW THEY BOTH GOING TO WORK TOGETHER AND IF SOMETHING HAPPENS AND PALIN BECOMES PRESIDENT
ACTING LIKE A DIVA AND MORE SERIOULY NOT TAKEING ANY ADVICE FROM ANYONE WILL BE DANGERUS TO BOTH USA AND REST OF THE WORLD !!!!

SO THE MEDIA HAS TO FIND OUT WHATS GOING ON AND REPORT IT BEFORE ITS TO LATE .PUT AMERICA/WORLD 1ST BEFORE ANY PARTY OR PERSON !!!!

Oh boy! I can't believe this; now they're gonna trash Palin within the campaign. They made a mistake "rolling out" Palin, i.e., picking her in the first place, and now the cowards are going to trash her.

The GOP needs to get it's sh...t together!

I used to say that Sarah is the gift that keeps on giving, but now I'd say that about the entire GOP!

Palin can try hard to be self-centered and take as much control as her power-hungry right wing evangelical witch-protected soul will permit, but she can't control one important factor–her God-given brain processing deficiency. She is clearly by all objective measurements a white trash, Artic redneck dimwit.

You can dress em up but you can't learn em any more new smarts!

who didn't see this coming? making a snap decision on a VP sounds like a fairly critical oversight that is now causing serious problems for the republican party. If she won't listen to her aide's now, she won't listen to them in the White House either. Do you really want that kind of person second in line to run this country?

    October 25, 2008 03:22 pm at 3:22 pm |
  23. Greg S.

John McCain showed a complete absence of judgment in selecting his VP running mate, so how in the hell can we trust him to have the judgment to be President? He also did not see the obvious threat of Virginia voting for the Democratic candidate, a state which is in the "back yard" of Washington D.C., so how is John McCain going to recognize an international threat thousands of miles away. He is indeed erratic, out of touch, not all that smart, and actually quite old already. Barack Obama is the polar opposite, and clearly a person who has the potential to be an excellent President.

As for Palin, she should think about becoming presidend of the hockey league in Alaska, and be happy with that.

The fact that she could potentially be vice president, or God help us, PRESIDENT, is the scariest thing I could ever imagine. Please tell me this is a nightmare. Or a late April's Fools joke or something!
