So, McCain is a maverick and Palin is going rouge. That's all our great nation needs–a rogue leader who won't listen to anyone except themselves.

It appears that all the criticism by her own Alaskan constituents–that she is an authoritarian, closed-minded leader–turns out to be true. It is telling that in the final days of this election she is more concerned about herself than her party, than her country.

Country first? No, wait. For Palin it is me first, country second. This is one diva we don’t need in politics period.

I think our nation would best be served if the social conservative wing of the Republican party splits off and forms their own, new party. That way, the Republican party can regain its strength, focusing on the issues that matter most.

Sarah Palin`s selection was a desperate attempt at cashing in on millions of women being disappointet at Hilary Clinton losing the DEMOCRATIC nomination to Barack Obama. The difference was/is that millions of people had a say in that historic contest. Nobody voted for Pallin. She was simply force fed to the American public by John McCain and his strategists, grasping at straws while the Republicans are about as popular as a skunk at a picnic. It is so hard to understand the reasons she was chosen for vp nominee. And the choices she makes are apparently just as odd as the choice McCain made in picking her. What about family feuds in public office and projects out to bid for favored contractors? What about her kids going everywhere at public expense? (Do they go to school?) Sad for her and them that this harsh light is shining. Sad for all of us that we have to learn this way about the mistakes of an early political career. A proper vetting would have spared the Palin family and the American public. There are reasons for practical, methodical and prudent ways that were cast aside in this selection process.

I hope the Republican party finds itself after Nov. 4. The US needs a healthy two party system.

Palin is the symbol of everything that has gone wrong in the Republican party:

- collective narcissism
- total moral corruption while simultaneously claiming righteous holders of faith;
- projection of incompetence and lack of ethics onto others;
- religious indoctrination;
- rejoice opposition to learning and education;
- denial of facts;
- narrow-mindedness.

Palin will either lead the evolution of the Republican party into a Nazisque group or fade into the oblivion while more intellectual, honest conservatives take the helm. Let's pray for the latter. Being the narcissistic lunatic she is, I'm sure she will push for the former. She might just win.

Well, I'm of two opinions. First, this is just more proof that she is not ready. This article contains open admissions to the fact that she had to be taught within weeks all of the important things that a VP should know, instead of knowing them already. Life or death issues that an administration must deal with are not in pop quiz territory. Only people who REALLY know what they're doing should be allowed in, unless you feel that Katrina, Iraq, wild deregulation/privatization, and oil speculation have all been handled intelligently.

Secondly, good for her for getting away from the creepy Rove campaigners. We should get to know her for who she is, lack of qualifications and all.

Did Palin not realize from the start that McCain and her were on two different sides of the coin on a lot of issues?

I know in general politicians are ambitious folk, but Palin seems to be motivated purely by blind ambition and the desire for power. Her willingness to sell out her own ticket for future career prospects is frightening.

I can't help but feel a little sorry for McCain.
