McCain is campaigning in Ohio Sunday, a state that is a must win for the Arizona senator.

DAYTON, Ohio (CNN)– John McCain is back in Ohio today. He's holding rallies in Zanesville and Lancaster, in the central part of the state. Tomorrow McCain campaigns here in Dayton before heading east to Pennsylvania. But McCain is expected to be back in Ohio later in the week.

Why's Senator McCain (R-Arizona) spending so much time here? Because Ohio is a must-win state for McCain. He needs to hold onto the states that George W. Bush carried four years ago in his re-election for president. With McCain trailing Barack Obama in the polls in some of those states, like Virginia, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and North Carolina, it's essential for the Republican presidential nominee to hold on to Ohio and its 20 electoral votes.

"Obama can win without Ohio. McCain can't." says CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider. He adds that "the Democrats’ strategy is to deny Ohio to McCain. No Republican presidential nominee has won the White House without Ohio."

The latest CNN Poll of Polls in Ohio suggests Obama has a five point lead, 49 percent to 44 percent, with 7 percent of voters undecided. The poll of polls is an average of the latest surveys in the state.
McCain won't have the state to himself. Obama campaigns in Canton, Ohio tomorrow, and expect him to make a return visit before election day on November 4th.

It is nice to see so many Americans' waking up to the fact that after eight years of almost total ruin of our economy, housing market, job loses in record numbers, that the only remedy is to vote for the ticket that WILL get us out of this MESS! OBAMA/BIDEN08!!!!!!!

Julie   October 26th, 2008 5:01 pm ET

McCain and Palin ....what has America become? I guess you can't fix Stupid. I only hope most Americans realize not only do we need to fix our economic crisis, healthcare crisis, etc. but we need to work on our psychology crisis....it all started with George Bush and it's just getting worse with McCain and Palin. Palin is such a joke and because McCain selected her as his VP, you can't take McCain serious either. If you really care about your children's future, please vote for Obama/Biden.

John   October 26th, 2008 5:01 pm ET

McCain could win Florida and Ohio at this point, If Obama wins all the Kerry States plus New Mexico, Iowa and Virginia its a done deal. bTW Obama has a handy lead in all of those states I just mentioned including all of the Kerry States. Heck I would love to see Obama win Nevada, Ohio Florida, Colorado, and Missouri as well. But the way things are looking he does not need to. He probably will win a majority of those states as well but the great thing is that he wont have to. If he wins Virginia plus all the Kerry states out east this thing will be done before the polls close in California... or at least Hawaii!

Voter   October 26th, 2008 5:00 pm ET

McCain will win Ohio. It's a pretty conservative state.

vote! OBAMA-BIDEN NOV.4th   October 26th, 2008 4:59 pm ET

ohio is too smart to let mccain pull the wool over their eyes, now mccains running mate is seeking advice from dim wit elizabeth what's her name, i don't know why mccain has let his campaign go to the dogs but he has. OHIO, VOTE OBAMA-BIDEN,

debbie in Glenside, PA   October 26th, 2008 4:58 pm ET

When Obama comes to our little area of Pennsylvania we have to work to track down the info but every time McCain is nearby we get robocalls "personally inviting" us to his rally and including all the details. This says so much about the level of enthusiasm for each candidate. I liked the old McCain before he allowed these Bushies to take over his campaign and outlook. I hope the old McCain returns to the Senate so he can help the Dems and regain some of his legacy.

xargaw   October 26th, 2008 4:57 pm ET

I think the point spread between Obama and McCain is the result of two very different campaign strategies. McCain went sleazy and outlined no specific policies to turn the country around. Obama never initiated an attack, he simply responded to attacked and then returned to his focused message. One campaign leaves you feeling like you need a shower, the other one gives you hope.

. Who gave the American a 10 plus TRILLION DOLLARS DEBT FOR OUR YOUNG CHILDREN, AND GRANDCHILDREN TO PAY OFF OF MAYBE TRY TO JUST PAY DOWN.
That is not counting this years 1 TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT IN THAT WILL BE IN THE BUDGET, the 700 billion already in there so the AIG, and the bankers and their share holders do not lose any money along with the CEO's who spent 440,000 on a party just a few days after AIG was given 85 billion dollars to save them from bankruptcy.
That is kind of government McCain and Palin will give you. McCain wants to buy all the defaulting mortgages at the current price even though the houses are worth only about half of the what the mortgages are. That way the investments brokers will not lose any money at all and the taxpayer will take the hit.
It is crazy to vote such a program. The republicans ARE NOTHING MORE THAN BORROW AND SPEND, THAT IS THEY GET RICH, THEY DO NOT PAY FOR WHAT THEY BUY

You were foolish to cut off your nose to spite your face. This is the kind of irrational thinking that MC/Palin are pushing to get votes at any cost. You mocked Hilliary Clinton by voting for this arrogant duo.

Will18E   October 26th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

Ohio must win for McCain Why? is he going to try to steal Ohio Like Bush did in 2004, when over 58 thousand democratic voters had there ballots, state wide, where destroyed and not counted. While McCain now appears to worry about voter fraud he was no where to be found in 2004 or 2000.

OHIO WILL CERTAINLY NOT WANT TO GET THREE STRIKES AGAINST IT BY VOTING BUSH AGAIN. THE McBUSH/FAILIN TICKET IS TOTALLY RADARLESS EXCEPT FOR THE SMEAR & FEAR CAMAPIGN WHICH POINTS ONLY IN THE DOWNWARD DIRECTION.

Enough   October 26th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

Obama will win Ohio. I have relatives and friends in Ohio who consistantly complain about the extremely high cost of utilities, flight of corporations, jobs and increase of crime. This "Joe the B.S. Plummer" is an insult not only to those who are bonifide license plummers, but an insult to the real issues facing bonifided small businesses. The republicans will not be happy until cities consist of nothing more than blowing tumbleweed.

Hugh C. coldwar veteran in California   October 26th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Ohio is THE battleground state, no democrat has lost it in recent american politics, and won the presidency, so McCain must take it. Obama is ahead and a victory here will end the race.
It's true however, that Obama does not need to win here if he wins in other key battleground states.

Biologist in AZ   October 26th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

When will all of the polls wake up to the fact that the 6-10% they list each time as 'undecided' could be people voting for the 'other' 3-4 candidates on the ballot in various states? These also could be people who really don't intend to vote.

Larry   October 26th, 2008 4:48 pm ET

ENTITLEMENT-Your VOTE for Obama entitles you to get some of the rich peoples money, they don't deserve to have it,what did they do to get it?The only thing they've done is get an education and work hard and make smart investments--it should be yours!!!!!Obama promises you!!!

Mary Cincinnati   October 26th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

Cincinnati is very heavily republican. But there are many signs that this republican stronghold may be going BIG TIME for OBAMA!!! The yard signs are 5 -1 in favor of Obama as are the bumper stickers. Every where I go I wear an Obama pin and I get 10 or more positive remarks from strangers every day. Most of my friends, either independents or republicans, are voting Obama. This is obviously not a guarantee, but I have never seen such support for a democrat in all my years of voting (1974). OHIO for OBAMA!!

Alexis   October 26th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

My family members in Ohio are voting for Barack.

Hey Youth, which planet are you from... Since you are a McCain/Palin lover... think back to when to when the gloves are off and the heels are on... The mud slinging comes from the the RNC not the DNC... They are the ones who have been playing dirty politics... I'm trying to figure out what they are going to do for this Country, besides going to was and spending 10 billion dollars a month in Iraq. That could do wonders for our economy and maybe our energy... Think before your think...

Go Obama/Biden08/12

thomas   October 26th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

Frank G   October 26th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

When you have nothing to say you say anything. And telling us "I know how to fix it", no matter what the subject matter, and then not telling us how, is typical McCain nonsense. Somehow, the "Etch A Sketch" toy keeps coming to mind whenever the McCain/Palin ticket spout off their nonsense irrespective of the subject matter.
McCain has failed the big test.
And that is to convince the American public he would be a better leader.
Courageous military service is just that; courageous military service which has been acknowledged over and over and rightfully so.
But does not qualify one to be a National leader.
This time, hopefully, the American public "gets it".

It is becoming obvious that if Palin is looking out for her own interests instead of the Republican Party or even her own running mate that we should worry what will happen if they are elected.....will she do whatever she wants then as well? How old is McCain? The VP completes the term if the CIC is unable. Does she have enough experience to learn about her own party or foreign affairs, because at this point she has not been able to answer any questions put to her except on her wardrobe, the only other subject she knows is "how to trash your opponents"

SW,OHIO   October 26th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Let's look at this in another perspective. Look back at the last election. All of those that voted for Bush, was he the right decision? Are you willing to say that he handled his job to the best of his knowledge and had the American people's interest at heart? Would you say he is an excellent role model for a President? I could go on and on, point is McCain and Palin would be the same as now. Everyone will make their own decision in the voting booth but please think about what is at stake. Much more at stake than ever before in my 45 years of life. I am so frustrated this year along with alot of others, that I can not understand why Ohioians would even consider having another Republican in our White House. It scares me to think that we are a toss up state again. Can't understand why the decision would be so hard.

Struggling Taxpayer   October 26th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

How desperate can he get.Ohioians don't beleive his lies.Ohioians are worrired about their jobs and health care.At least Obama is willing to give us a 95% tax break for working americans.McCain keeps flip flopping all over the place along with his sidekick Sarah. She brought up the 150.000 wardrobe again today but still she thinks the pundits are making a big deal out of it well guess what it's not just the pundits it's the many american taxpayers out here losing there jobs, and losing their homes that are upset that she used our money to but her young daughter a gucci bag ,not to mention what she paid for the hair stylist and makeup let alone the clothes. She comes out saying she'one of us guys the hockey mom ,pta mom and a pig with lipstick well she should have stayed with the lipstick that she used on herself when she called herself the pig w/ lipstick instead of spending thousands on her makeup.Where in the h*ll is the clothes she wore as govenor and why did she show off her apparel today that she brought at a consignment shop in Alaska? These clothes look as good if not better than the ones she paid all that money for.Again they got caught and thought that people would be caught up in the election that the wouldn't find out about it.Obama or Hillary never accused Palin or McCain as elitist so who is the elitist now and beleive me this kind of spending will continue to Who? I live in Butler, County one of the most Republican counties in America. I live in a upscale neighborhood that is more Republican than the rest of the county. In 2004 I don't think there was a single Kerry sign in the sub-division. I drove around today and there are 6 McCain signs and 5 Obama signs.

I voted early on Friday and voted for "That One".

How can anyone still consider voting for these two corrupt individuals. They have not explained one plan, policy or vision to the American people. They have lied, distorted, divided, flip-flopped consistantly though.

"When you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody", John said. "That is certainly not something I would ever do," he cackled, brimstone pouring from his ears and pointy little tail thrashing.

We get that John. You're not for the little person. The person who has to work two part-time jobs (because he/she can't get a full-time position anywhere) to try and make ends meet. Those who can't afford to buy a house (unlike your 7 or 9–do you even remember how many houses you have?). Those who can't afford health care. Those who can't afford a decent car. Those who can't afford childcare.

Let's get some more of that erratic, flip-flop, speak with forked-tongue, dishonest 'straight talk' from you McCain, we need our daily fix of more of your lies, distortions and dishonesty.

You're a pathetic, bitter, angry, liar–and I hope to God that the American people show you that on 4 Nov.

Yes, John, go back to your mansions and fleet of cars. Go back and live with the woman who has pandered to your huge ego and financed your aspirations with her money.

Oh, and one more thing, take that pocket extremist side-kick of yours and ship her back to where she crawled out from.

You have lost every shred of decency and honor you've ever had.

Go away.

One Vote.

One Team.

One Nation.

My friend Mutuma of The Daily Nation says: The Republican party in America has spent Sh11.5 million to buy frocks for Sarah Palin and her family. Her hair stylist is paid Sh2 million, twice as much as candidate John McCain’s foreign policy adviser.

After his successful foreign tour during which he addressed a large crowd in Berlin, Democratic candidate Barack Obama was accused by Mr McCain of being just another celebrity, like Paris Hilton.

Mr McCain and Mrs Palin say they represent the ordinary, so-called Joe the Plumbers and Joe Six-Packs. Mr McCain is so rich he has trouble remembering how many homes he and his millionaire wife own.

I think Mr McCain is a washed-up old phony and Ms Palin is a moose-shootin’ Barbie with expensive shopping habits. They would be right at home with Ms Hilton.

This time around, the Republicans in Ohio don't have Kenneth Blackwell, the runner up to Clarence "Uncle" Thomas in the Oreo awards, to help them steal votes.

Come on Ohio Voters. John McCain is a nice man and he has made it clear that you are "his friend". However, he will continue to lead this country into ruin. He is just like Bush. If you vote for McCain, please see Bush's face in the voting booth. He voted with hims 90% of the time. The Republicans have not really disputed this.
He just suddenly saw the light when I guess, he picked Palin? Please, she is simply not qualified. Nice person, maybe? Qualified? This should not even be up for discussion.

JD   October 26th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Sadly, this is much too little too late for McCain. It was his race to lose from the start and he let Obama set the tone at every turn. This left him playing catch-up the entire campaign.

The only thing that can save America now is to vote out of office the lowest-rated Congress in history (with approval ratings even lower than Bush's!) and vote in fiscal and social conservatives who can keep Obama and his handlers from turning the USA into the USSR in the next 4 years.

Pat Pa.   October 26th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Hang in there Ohio ! You need Obama if you want help for your state. You are not going to get anything under McCain. If he gets into office that is the last you will hear from him until Sarah takes over as President. Imagine that scenerio. Scary, huh !

Chris from St. Louis   October 26th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

McCain/Palin .... please concede or run a respectable campaign. You are taking the whole republican party down through gutters ...

Larry   October 26th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

The people from Ohio are not as gullible or needy as the people in those blue states on the east and west coast, they know they will need to vote for individual freedom of choice ,not having the government decide everything for them.We need jobs, not a government beating up the employers with higher taxes,so they can stay in business and WORK our way out of this.

VOTE COMMON SINCE-NOT EMOTION

karen   October 26th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

If McCain is slashing ALL spending excluding military defense retired military, how does SHE have the nerve to advocate spending money on special needs children?-(not that they shouldnt be cared for) but what about seniors, what about handicapped people, what about the average Jane who is literally going broke this year? And how can anyone stand her winking ? What woman winks at another person. She is pathetic,-I can only blame the crotchety Mccain for his blunder in picking her. GET OUT THE VOTE-VOTE FOR OBAMA/BIDEN

As optimistic as I am about the polls; it almost feels as if we will be holding our collective breathes until this movement is over. The polls have been wrong in the past although I can't imagine people wanting the McCain/Palin duo in our house; stranger things have happened. I personally cannot afford to have them win this election but I know that no matter what happens the day after, we will get up and go to work and provide for our families. The difference will be that I will have a bottle of champagne prepared for a much hoped for event to occur on Election day. Change is coming. We Democrats will be the change agents that this country deserves. I am prepared to vote for change. Fellow Americans please join me! Obama/Biden 2008:)

For days I've been trying to figure out what it is about Sarah Palin that evokes a familiar discomfort. I realized today, it's the same feeling I got when I saw Madonna holding a guitar. I was amused up until the point when it hit me, "Wait a minute, she really expects us to believe she's a real musician". Never mind that her fingers are not moving, I'm just supposed to except what I'm told and don't pay attention to the facts. That's when I slipped from amusement to annoyed. It's okay to claim you have a huge member. But at some points you're going to have to pull your pants down.

Mark in Colorado   October 26th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

John McCain will never admit it, but Palin was a BIG mistake.

Erika   October 26th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

anyone notice that McCain rallies he get's numbers in the hundreds. But at future President Elect Obama's rallies the numbers in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! I think the people have spoken, McCain just look at the audience. It appears to be McCain and joe the plumber and that's about it.

Dan, TX   October 26th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

If you want Obama to win, get out the vote. You have to vote.

Javier   October 26th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

I am waiting for McCain to declare that God has ordained him to be the next President of the United States. He does not seem to accept what dead weight Mrs. Palin has been to his campaign, stalling any progress after the convention. It is like a childhood fairy tale where if you say it often enough it will come true. All that comes from them is the negativity that underlies their declining appeal. You could get whiplash from watching all of the changed positions McCain has embraced. Palin was a poor choice in a very important role in that campaign.

Jake   October 26th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

After seeing and hearing Palin all weekend, she gets more and more vicious. She has a big mouth and an empty head. She needs to shut-up and buy another suit at Bloomingdales!

MikeH   October 26th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

I must confess I agree with Sarah Palin on one thing. The big flap over the wadrobe expenses was/is a big waste of media time.

So what? So what if they spend money on Sarah to spruce her up a bit? I would expect that of either campaign. It's a non-issue.

What is much more important is the nature of Sarah's moral character. Book baning, vindictive power-corrupted behavior, pathological lie-telling, fundamental ignorance about the Constitution, that is what matters.

ralph   October 26th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Yeah McCain. Keep telling your lies to your incredible shrinking crowds.

McCain is going to lose whether or not he has Ohio, and Obama will probably carry Ohio anyway!

SJC   October 26th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

To aware

Everything you said would have been perfectly true if you had substituted Bush's name for Obama.

Also you capped off your ridiculous post with a blatant lie. There is no way a Hillary supporter would ever vote for McCain knowing what he said about Chelsea Clinton in 1998. Nobody, that is, with a rational mind. In case you forgot here's what he said:

""Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."

Also for a Democrat to support Sarah Palin and her nonsensical right wings views is also ludicrous. Finally Hillary supports the Reid. Pelosi and Obama agenda.

I conclude that you are nothing more than a Republican shill childishly disguising yourself as a Hillary supporter.

AJ   October 26th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

You know republicans are completely lost when Palin's latest talking points in Florida are about some rediculous claim that Obama has already written his inaugural speech of Jan. 20th!!!!! Also, another talking point was that Obama had a look alike presidential emblem on his podium!!! You must be kidding when you want to elect this woman as a VP. There probabbly are 20 more mlillion women in this country who are more astute and intelligent than this woman!!!

Lisa   October 26th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

John McCain maybe if you and your campaign would quit telling lies and playing in the gutter people might look at you in a different way. People are tired of your dirty campaign, Knock it off!!!

Anita of georgia   October 26th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

John McCain, can campaign in Ohio until the cows come home. His chances of winning this election is like a snowball in Hell! Give it up John, go on home where you belong.

TexicoFrom Mexico   October 26th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Its now time to turn Texas BLUE!!! I did my part, voted a straight DEM ticket here in Dallas County and just sent 200 bucks to Obama...one last time! Maybe someday Texas will wake up and see that there politics are of the 20th century! It's time to send those EVANGELICAL RETARDS FROM WACO TO DFW FROM ABLINE TO TYLER PACKING!!! ITS TIME FOR TEXAS TO JOIN THIS CENTURY PEOPLE......ITS TIME TO GET RID OF WET AND DRY DISTRICTS...ITS TIME TO GET RID OF OLD TEXAS "Blue Laws"!!! ITS TIME FOR TEXAS TO JOIN THE REST OF THE BIG STATES LIKE CALIF, NEW YORK AND ILL IN ITS THINKING!!!

CV   October 26th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

C'Mon Ohio we're counting on you! We know you won't vote for McCain and another four years of the same! I'm confident the majority of Americans can see through the smoke screen and realize the McCain/Palin Ticket is in survival mode all they have left is their Obama attacks and lies, Their only hope to diminish and divide Obama's support. GO OBAMA/BIDEN/MICHELLLE 08!

Quit talking and VOTE   October 26th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Reality is it doesn't matter what the polls states nor what is reported by the media. What matters is the vote you cast on or by November 4th. Vote for McCain, Obama, or a third party. But VOTE!!! Quit bashing who you think is the poor candidate and do something about it. VOTE!!! I already did...

NoTrustInPolitics   October 26th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Palin is Waaay off message in her rally speech in Florida...Why is she accusing Obama of calling the game over and NOT cutting off the net before the game is over?? Obama has never said such.Did he not just give a speech telling his supporters not to get cocky??

LouAnn   October 26th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

aware....you are obviously very unaware. McCain/Palin don't represent any of Hillary's prinicples. Either you're a racist, or a republican who was going to vote for Hillary because she is a female, or you are a disgruntled Democrat who supported Hillary and got mad when she lost to Obama and so you stomped off to the other side where old Bush man and his ditzy running mate are now the ticket you support. You didn't do your homework very well. Either way, it's wrong. When all the Repubs are jumping ship and supporting Obama, don't you feel like a fish swimming upstream?

NJ   October 26th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

McCain - says he's against abortion but for Stem Cell. And all the Evangelicals think that is ok.
Hypocrisy at it's finest.

That is percisely why I am voting for Obama. Tired of the Religious right nuts trying to control our country, and running it into the ground.
We need a leader, and McCain just isnt the better man.

Sandy   October 26th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

Dear Aware: you call yourself a former Hillary supporter and yet you argue that an all democratic win will weaken the country. Do you remember the primaries? Those debates? The policy difference between Hillary and Obama was almost non existent. The two of them really had to split hairs to differentiate their stands on the issues. You are so a Republican plant it is ridiculous.

Senator McCain, it's over and...   October 26th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Will senior mccain stop blaming the media for his crappy ran campaign. It's not their fault that he looks so bad, it's his. And, it started with Palin, sh'e dumb and it shows, and he's in denile if he want's to be where he's at, cuz, he's getting his brains beat.

How can I trust Senator John McCain as President and Gov. Sarah Palin as VP if I can not trust them to comply with the campaign laws regarding using campaign funds to by personal items ie clothing which is against the law.

They basically broke the law..

They need to be sued by all Repiblican donor for misappropriation of non appropriated fund.. Since Senator John McCain is still recieving military retirement pay we should right him up on charges related to the UCMJ.. and cut off his retirement pay..

Did I read something about anything great consiparcy to put Obama in office? Come on – Ohioans Like me want Obama because he represents change not just in policies which is so important but attitude and how we present ourselves around the world. I want this country to be a leader in progressive, open minded, progressive thinking and not governed by more paranoia, fear, and backward thinking people like McCain & Palin who just don't get it. They don't get that to reach forward and grow to what we can be we must throw away the politics of hatred and finger pointing and instead say "we can do it" – I am not positive Obama can – but I sure as heck would reather give him a try than those two.

Ken in NC   October 26th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

I wonder if President Bush realizes that Palin is dumber than the sitting President and voted for Obama. If he did do that then he is smarter than she is. NOT MUCH but none the less SMARTER.

Ohio will go for McCain, unless there is a crooked election.

I base this on the number of signs in my neighborhood. There are 35 McCain signs and zero Obama.

Now if you want your eyes opened and your heart bruised look at William G. Tappley's latest book. The first two chapters deal with domestic terrorist activities in the US during 1971. The heartache and misery felt by the families of the innocent victims continues to this day. Whoever is a friend of a domestic terrorist is a miserable American and I certainly wouldn't want him to be president.

Please search your souls as you go to the vote booth.

Anonymous   October 26th, 2008 4:04 pm ET

John McCain and Sarah Palin is so full of it! When will they go away??? I cannot stand them. When will people really start seeing through their bull?! When will Americans open their eyes and see them for what they really are? An ignorant , arrogant and thoughtless individual duo. To give them any degree of power, would be reckless endangerment.

On another note, when will the supposed "Hillary" supporters stop punishing Barack Obama for winning the primary fair and square? Why are they using Hillary as a crutch to hide their racism? And that could be the only reason, because Barack and Hillary stand the same on the issues and their platforms.

Also, when are the republicans going to focus on the issues and stop throwing superficial and artificial labels at Barack Obama? They have gone from "elitist" to "socialist". Isn't that an oxymoron – how can you be an elitist-socialist?? That goes to show you that they are just grabbing at straws. And the sad thing is that there are people who actually believe it.

Why are so many people afraid of a smart, strong, thoughtful and considerate man? WHY?? Do the right thing America, and vote for the right man for the job – Barack Obama!!

Vote for That One and Joe the Vice President!!!   October 26th, 2008 4:04 pm ET

It would appear that MCCain is using the same math that Hillary used in the last two months of the primaries!

I have done my part of ridding Dallas of reptilians, I voted straight Democratic ticket to finish the job we started in Dallas county in 2006!

No Hillary = No Obama   October 26th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

The media have made Obama the defacto President-elect because they appointed themself as the defacto electorate. This is what 8 years of a leadership vacuum begets.

j   October 26th, 2008 4:02 pm ET

I'd be happy to see McCain lose in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico... you get my point. Any state is a good state for McCain to lose and Obama to win. McCain = the past. Obama = the future.

a well educated woman   October 26th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

The tides are turning.......... I wonder if McCain knows why? I still am not jumping up and down just yet, memories of Gore and Kerry should have been presidents, the Florida mess with Hanging Chads, and I bet they pull a few more dumbos out of their hats. Just make sure you VOTE, and vote early, and make certain you know your polling place days before you go vote, do not wait until the last minute. And it should be a happy day November 5.

ralph   October 26th, 2008 4:00 pm ET

Looks like mcDenial cannot handle the truth.

Annie, Atlanta   October 26th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

I don't understand how anyone could vote for McCain/Palin. They are dividing this country in two, the pro America and anti America sides. This is an outrage. I looked up the definition of terrorism in Websters on-line: "A systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion." Isn't this what they are doing with their fear and hate?

aware   October 26th, 2008 3:59 pm ET

And,

Reid, Pelosi and Obama in charge is untenable! :(

Think about these possibilities:

Was Obama selected because he can be pushed around?

Did Obama's radical friends choose him so they could mold him into their man at the top?

Is that top "Global Leader" with POTUS only another rung on the ladder?

Is a global depression and a weakened America a means to that end?

Has Obama already changed from the young, angry idealist into the cynical insider and palm-greasing politician with his cool demeanor of frozen anger?

Barney Frank just said POTUS Obama and Company would weaken our military and increase our taxes big time!

I am a former democrat and Hillary supporter who voted for McCain/Palin 08! :)

Y   October 26th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Obama was endorsed by the Anchorage Daily News yesterday. I guess Alaska is tired of Palin too. She may have to move to Russia after the election.

Yvonne   October 26th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

We cannot afford to have someone dumber than the American people in the White House. Both McCain and Palin represent the baser sort of America. Low grades, low IQ, low road. Okay for Arizona and Alaska but not America. I thank God Americans have woken up the absurdity of the GOP ticket and are going to turn out in droves on Nov 4 to vote for Barack Obama.

Jay   October 26th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

I hope everyone would realize that if the Republicans win, Sarah Palin will out way McCain and be the leader. Remember she is going out on her own with no control from McCain. He is so silly. So if Sarah wants to do what she wants then the campaign should let her do this and not honor anything from McCain and that means winning Ohio.

Smile   October 26th, 2008 3:54 pm ET

Go vote and remember choose obama. The republicans has got to go.
