Ohio a must win for McCain

McCain is campaigning in Ohio Sunday, a state that is a must win for the Arizona senator.

DAYTON, Ohio (CNN)– John McCain is back in Ohio today. He's holding rallies in Zanesville and Lancaster, in the central part of the state. Tomorrow McCain campaigns here in Dayton before heading east to Pennsylvania. But McCain is expected to be back in Ohio later in the week.

Why's Senator McCain (R-Arizona) spending so much time here? Because Ohio is a must-win state for McCain. He needs to hold onto the states that George W. Bush carried four years ago in his re-election for president. With McCain trailing Barack Obama in the polls in some of those states, like Virginia, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and North Carolina, it's essential for the Republican presidential nominee to hold on to Ohio and its 20 electoral votes.

"Obama can win without Ohio. McCain can't." says CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider. He adds that "the Democrats’ strategy is to deny Ohio to McCain. No Republican presidential nominee has won the White House without Ohio."

The latest CNN Poll of Polls in Ohio suggests Obama has a five point lead, 49 percent to 44 percent, with 7 percent of voters undecided. The poll of polls is an average of the latest surveys in the state.
McCain won't have the state to himself. Obama campaigns in Canton, Ohio tomorrow, and expect him to make a return visit before election day on November 4th.

I hope everyone would realize that if the Republicans win, Sarah Palin will out way McCain and be the leader. Remember she is going out on her own with no control from McCain. He is so silly. So if Sarah wants to do what she wants then the campaign should let her do this and not honor anything from McCain and that means winning Ohio.

We cannot afford to have someone dumber than the American people in the White House. Both McCain and Palin represent the baser sort of America. Low grades, low IQ, low road. Okay for Arizona and Alaska but not America. I thank God Americans have woken up the absurdity of the GOP ticket and are going to turn out in droves on Nov 4 to vote for Barack Obama.

Obama was endorsed by the Anchorage Daily News yesterday. I guess Alaska is tired of Palin too. She may have to move to Russia after the election.

    And,

Reid, Pelosi and Obama in charge is untenable! :(

    Think about these possibilities:

Was Obama selected because he can be pushed around?

Did Obama's radical friends choose him so they could mold him into their man at the top?

Is that top "Global Leader" with POTUS only another rung on the ladder?

Is a global depression and a weakened America a means to that end?

Has Obama already changed from the young, angry idealist into the cynical insider and palm-greasing politician with his cool demeanor of frozen anger?

Barney Frank just said POTUS Obama and Company would weaken our military and increase our taxes big time!

I am a former democrat and Hillary supporter who voted for McCain/Palin 08! :)

I don't understand how anyone could vote for McCain/Palin. They are dividing this country in two, the pro America and anti America sides. This is an outrage. I looked up the definition of terrorism in Websters on-line: "A systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion." Isn't this what they are doing with their fear and hate?

The tides are turning.......... I wonder if McCain knows why? I still am not jumping up and down just yet, memories of Gore and Kerry should have been presidents, the Florida mess with Hanging Chads, and I bet they pull a few more dumbos out of their hats. Just make sure you VOTE, and vote early, and make certain you know your polling place days before you go vote, do not wait until the last minute. And it should be a happy day November 5.

I'd be happy to see McCain lose in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico... you get my point. Any state is a good state for McCain to lose and Obama to win. McCain = the past. Obama = the future.

  10. No Hillary = No Obama

The media have made Obama the defacto President-elect because they appointed themself as the defacto electorate. This is what 8 years of a leadership vacuum begets.

John McCain and Sarah Palin is so full of it! When will they go away??? I cannot stand them. When will people really start seeing through their bull?! When will Americans open their eyes and see them for what they really are? An ignorant , arrogant and thoughtless individual duo. To give them any degree of power, would be reckless endangerment.

On another note, when will the supposed "Hillary" supporters stop punishing Barack Obama for winning the primary fair and square? Why are they using Hillary as a crutch to hide their racism? And that could be the only reason, because Barack and Hillary stand the same on the issues and their platforms.

Also, when are the republicans going to focus on the issues and stop throwing superficial and artificial labels at Barack Obama? They have gone from "elitist" to "socialist". Isn't that an oxymoron – how can you be an elitist-socialist?? That goes to show you that they are just grabbing at straws. And the sad thing is that there are people who actually believe it.

Why are so many people afraid of a smart, strong, thoughtful and considerate man? WHY?? Do the right thing America, and vote for the right man for the job – Barack Obama!!

Ohio will go for McCain, unless there is a crooked election.

I base this on the number of signs in my neighborhood. There are 35 McCain signs and zero Obama.

Now if you want your eyes opened and your heart bruised look at William G. Tappley's latest book. The first two chapters deal with domestic terrorist activities in the US during 1971. The heartache and misery felt by the families of the innocent victims continues to this day. Whoever is a friend of a domestic terrorist is a miserable American and I certainly wouldn't want him to be president.

Please search your souls as you go to the vote booth.

I wonder if President Bush realizes that Palin is dumber than the sitting President and voted for Obama. If he did do that then he is smarter than she is. NOT MUCH but none the less SMARTER.

Palin is like Alaska Fools Gold, just a flash in the pan but under examination ….. Worthless.

Did I read something about anything great consiparcy to put Obama in office? Come on – Ohioans Like me want Obama because he represents change not just in policies which is so important but attitude and how we present ourselves around the world. I want this country to be a leader in progressive, open minded, progressive thinking and not governed by more paranoia, fear, and backward thinking people like McCain & Palin who just don't get it. They don't get that to reach forward and grow to what we can be we must throw away the politics of hatred and finger pointing and instead say "we can do it" – I am not positive Obama can – but I sure as heck would reather give him a try than those two.

How can I trust Senator John McCain as President and Gov. Sarah Palin as VP if I can not trust them to comply with the campaign laws regarding using campaign funds to by personal items ie clothing which is against the law.

    They basically broke the law..

They need to be sued by all Repiblican donor for misappropriation of non appropriated fund.. Since Senator John McCain is still recieving military retirement pay we should right him up on charges related to the UCMJ.. and cut off his retirement pay..
