Ohio a must win for McCain

McCain is campaigning in Ohio Sunday, a state that is a must win for the Arizona senator.

DAYTON, Ohio (CNN)– John McCain is back in Ohio today. He's holding rallies in Zanesville and Lancaster, in the central part of the state. Tomorrow McCain campaigns here in Dayton before heading east to Pennsylvania. But McCain is expected to be back in Ohio later in the week.

Why's Senator McCain (R-Arizona) spending so much time here? Because Ohio is a must-win state for McCain. He needs to hold onto the states that George W. Bush carried four years ago in his re-election for president. With McCain trailing Barack Obama in the polls in some of those states, like Virginia, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and North Carolina, it's essential for the Republican presidential nominee to hold on to Ohio and its 20 electoral votes.

"Obama can win without Ohio. McCain can't." says CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider. He adds that "the Democrats’ strategy is to deny Ohio to McCain. No Republican presidential nominee has won the White House without Ohio."

The latest CNN Poll of Polls in Ohio suggests Obama has a five point lead, 49 percent to 44 percent, with 7 percent of voters undecided. The poll of polls is an average of the latest surveys in the state.
McCain won't have the state to himself. Obama campaigns in Canton, Ohio tomorrow, and expect him to make a return visit before election day on November 4th.

Ohio, when you think of McCain, think of George Bush. I'm serious.

John McCain has taken a strong position on every issue. He's for it, he's against it and he has no opinion. No matter who you are, he's on your side. How could you not vote for him?

Hey Youth, which planet are you from... Since you are a McCain/Palin lover... think back to when to when the gloves are off and the heels are on... The mud slinging comes from the the RNC not the DNC... They are the ones who have been playing dirty politics... I'm trying to figure out what they are going to do for this Country, besides going to was and spending 10 billion dollars a month in Iraq. That could do wonders for our economy and maybe our energy... Think before your think...

    Go Obama/Biden08/12

Cincinnati is very heavily republican. But there are many signs that this republican stronghold may be going BIG TIME for OBAMA!!! The yard signs are 5 -1 in favor of Obama as are the bumper stickers. Every where I go I wear an Obama pin and I get 10 or more positive remarks from strangers every day. Most of my friends, either independents or republicans, are voting Obama. This is obviously not a guarantee, but I have never seen such support for a democrat in all my years of voting (1974). OHIO for OBAMA!!

When will all of the polls wake up to the fact that the 6-10% they list each time as 'undecided' could be people voting for the 'other' 3-4 candidates on the ballot in various states? These also could be people who really don't intend to vote.

Ohio is THE battleground state, no democrat has lost it in recent american politics, and won the presidency, so McCain must take it. Obama is ahead and a victory here will end the race.
It's true however, that Obama does not need to win here if he wins in other key battleground states.

Obama will win Ohio. I have relatives and friends in Ohio who consistantly complain about the extremely high cost of utilities, flight of corporations, jobs and increase of crime. This "Joe the B.S. Plummer" is an insult not only to those who are bonifide license plummers, but an insult to the real issues facing bonifided small businesses. The republicans will not be happy until cities consist of nothing more than blowing tumbleweed.

OHIO WILL CERTAINLY NOT WANT TO GET THREE STRIKES AGAINST IT BY VOTING BUSH AGAIN. THE McBUSH/FAILIN TICKET IS TOTALLY RADARLESS EXCEPT FOR THE SMEAR & FEAR CAMAPIGN WHICH POINTS ONLY IN THE DOWNWARD DIRECTION.

Ohio must win for McCain Why? is he going to try to steal Ohio Like Bush did in 2004, when over 58 thousand democratic voters had there ballots, state wide, where destroyed and not counted. While McCain now appears to worry about voter fraud he was no where to be found in 2004 or 2000.

    Aware:

You were foolish to cut off your nose to spite your face. This is the kind of irrational thinking that MC/Palin are pushing to get votes at any cost. You mocked Hilliary Clinton by voting for this arrogant duo.

We cannot allow these two – a half-senile warmonger and an incompetent religious fanatic – to get control of our country.

. Who gave the American a 10 plus TRILLION DOLLARS DEBT FOR OUR YOUNG CHILDREN, AND GRANDCHILDREN TO PAY OFF OF MAYBE TRY TO JUST PAY DOWN.
That is not counting this years 1 TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT IN THAT WILL BE IN THE BUDGET, the 700 billion already in there so the AIG, and the bankers and their share holders do not lose any money along with the CEO's who spent 440,000 on a party just a few days after AIG was given 85 billion dollars to save them from bankruptcy.
That is kind of government McCain and Palin will give you. McCain wants to buy all the defaulting mortgages at the current price even though the houses are worth only about half of the what the mortgages are. That way the investments brokers will not lose any money at all and the taxpayer will take the hit.
It is crazy to vote such a program. The republicans ARE NOTHING MORE THAN BORROW AND SPEND, THAT IS THEY GET RICH, THEY DO NOT PAY FOR WHAT THEY BUY

I think the point spread between Obama and McCain is the result of two very different campaign strategies. McCain went sleazy and outlined no specific policies to turn the country around. Obama never initiated an attack, he simply responded to attacked and then returned to his focused message. One campaign leaves you feeling like you need a shower, the other one gives you hope.

When Obama comes to our little area of Pennsylvania we have to work to track down the info but every time McCain is nearby we get robocalls "personally inviting" us to his rally and including all the details. This says so much about the level of enthusiasm for each candidate. I liked the old McCain before he allowed these Bushies to take over his campaign and outlook. I hope the old McCain returns to the Senate so he can help the Dems and regain some of his legacy.
