McCain: Don’t buy reports of GOP ticket friction

McCain and Palin rallied together today in Pennsylvania.

McCain and Palin rallied together today in Pennsylvania.

HERSHEY, Pa. (CNN) – John McCain unofficially declared this fair city a diva-free zone Tuesday.

In his first joint rally with running mate Sarah Palin since tension between their aides spilled into public view, McCain opened his remarks by declaring, “By the way, when two mavericks get together, you don’t agree on everything – but that’s fun!”

McCain has previously made similar comments at rallies about how he and Palin do not agree on everything, such as drilling for oil and gas in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (McCain opposes, Palin supports).
But this time the comment had particular resonance with a large crowd here in Pennsylvania, coming just days after a McCain adviser privately charged to CNN that Palin is a “diva” who’s not staying on-message, while Palin advisers fired back that McCain aides botched her rollout to the American people.

  1. I Like McCain

I like you Senator McCain, unlike Obama, I feel much safer with you in the White House.

Individuals who state that by "voting for McCain, they are voting for 8 more years of Bush," well, I'm in that small percentage of Americans who still likes President Bush.

Senator McCain, I could care less how many homes you own, or how many automobiles you have in your many driveways, you are the right man for the job.

I am educated as well as employed; I will sleep comfortably in my beach house, with you as my President.

I am not eager to "share the wealth," and have my tax dollars support welfare recipients who sit on their buns all day!

  3. YES WE CAN

McCain reminds me of what Biden said of Giuliani and 9/11.

    Except for "noun-verb-9/11", it's "noun-verb-maverick".

Give it a rest, old man. And Sarah Palin needs to disappear.

It is most fun watching John and Sarah in their alternate maverick universe also known as the world according to FAUX NEWS. And who, other than the right-wing nutjobs, believes anything on that channel?

If you can't run a campaign how can u run the country.
    Not only Palin problems but
McCain has Joe the plumber on the campaign trail saying Obama would bring death to Israel.
Using this idiot as a metaphor is one thing but making him famous on the campaign trail means his comments are tied to McCain.....a nail in McPain coffin the last week of the campaign

He likes Reaganomics...and the Republican Contract with America.
She thought it was "kinda gnarly listening to Reagan's State of the Union address–but I had to cut off in the middle because of a Madonna thing on MTV".

If they need to keep on labelling themselves as "mavericks", then obviously, they aren't mavericks. Hopefully the US has grown out of the phase where people will start believing things after it's repeated over and over again.

Ridiculous! Palin is more plastic than tupperware and McCain looks like he hired a mortician to do his makeup. I mean, come on, McCain didn't even vet Palin, much less Joe the Plumber!

McCain just doesn't know what else to say....having Palin tagging along like a puppet on a string in PA trying to sway voters with all of their deceitfulness. There's so much animosity between Palin and McCain until it's not even funny any more. All this is nothing but a floor show to entertain the blinded Republican base. There's a lot that he and Palin doesn't agree on. How can you run on the same ticket with different ideas? I thought they had something in common but obviously they don't. Sarah is a "rogue" and can't be trusted and will not listen to what McCain or his staffers have to say. This is not good for the Americans if they should get into the whitehouse. All they will do, if they get in, is bash and criticize each other on this plan and that plan. No sound ideas and/or plans will come out of the whitehouse with these 2 in office. People, please vote reasonably.

Whoa, slow down there liberals. It seems to me that there have been alot of differences between Obama and biden as well. Biden contradicted Obama on coal energy, stated that he disagreed with the Obama campaigns advertisement depicting McCain as "out of touch" andn ot knowing how to use a computer, and most recently stated the world would test Obama within 6 months of his presidency. Obama had to spend quite some time smoothing his way out of that one. So, there is plenty of dissension among obama-Biden as well but the media chooses to ignore it on most cases

  19. Obama 08: white, female, 60 yr old supporter

Why is it that so few Republican politicians introduce McCain and Palin at their rallies?? Always Lieberman (who is looking for a cabinet post), Graham or Cindy who doesn't appear to have anything else to do but stand there day after day listening to her husband's speeches.

A comparison between the united Obama campaign, the depth of his support and the bipartisan, intelligent group of his advisors need to give voters pause as to who would provide the unity America needs.

John maybe trying to please Palin. After all, according to her, she has the most executive experience amongst people on the Dem and Rep tickets. But we all know George W. Bush has way more executive experience than even Palin, don't we. So does executive experience really help?

Sounds exactly like what celebrities that are married to each other say right before they announce their "amicable" divorce.

Is it just me, or is Tundra Barbie thoroughly enjoying her new-found fame? She reminds me of those reality show contestants that no one can stand, yet they thrive on the attention they receive, be it positive or negative.

    Gee, who's the celebrity now?
