Government intervention to fix the economy is 'absolutely necessary,' Cameron Graham says.

(CNN) - Even before the current economic crisis, voters listed the economy as the top issue in the presidential election.

In a CNN.com special report, Battleground Voters, we talked to voters in five battleground states - Colorado, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio - to find out how the economy would influence their choice for president.

In the third of four parts, we talked to retirees, who say they're not only worried about their own finances, and whether they may need to work again, but about others, and the kind of world that their children and grandchildren will live in.

John McCain wants to be the redistributor in chief too, for the wealthy (who are now wealthier) and corporate America who have taken their tax breaks and shipped our jobs overseas to increase their profit margins. How can anyone see this as a benefit? Trickle Down Economics has failed miserably. Yet these die-hards keep shooting themselves in the foot, and the rest of our feet too, by voting in these guys who take care of themselves and their friends, and don't care about the rest of us until election time, putting people who are "like us," like Sarah and "Joe the Plumber" front & center. Yikes.

Obama is not on the throne yet, but even before his dictatorship begins, he already ceased all TV waves and even canceld the world series which only an act of God has been able to do. But heck, God has competion in Barak Obama whose name means superior being or anti christ.

    Liberal against dictaion/communism.

What have the candidates sacrificed for their country?

McCain: 6 years of his life as a POW. 20+ years as a naval officer.

Obama: Using cocaine and weed. Rev. Wright. Bill Ayers.

  8. Will the Real Maverick Please Stand Up?

If the unfortunate happens and McCain is elected (through fraud–it's the only way he'll get in) then be prepared for the reintroduction of the military draft. McCain will have to do this to cover all the wars he's going to start (Iran and Venezuela first then we'll take a trip to Georgia to help out his 'friend').

    McCain do this because:
    a) he's angry
    b) 'he knows how to win wars' (?!)
    c) to lower the sky-high unemployment rate that he will cause.

It'll be comforting to see those who voted for McCain in the trenches next to me.

    Can't wait...it'll be fun...

FYI CNN, there's more to Missouri than the St. Louis metro area. This is the second battleground report that I've seen from that area of the state and I'd encourage the CNN reporters to venture a little further west next time to gather a more diverse opinion.

For "WELCOME TO THE OBAMA SHOW

    We Know who he is
we know where he comes from
we know who who his teachers are
and that means EVERYTHING when it comes to Whom is better equipped to get this country on track.

We also know who McSame and Palin are, where they come from, who their teachers are, and that means extreme detriment to The United States.

You really should hire someone to help you come up with new material for your show.

Seniors had better vote for the Democratic ticket if they want their
pensions and social security in tact. Remember the prosperity under the
Clinton years? From what I have seen of Sarah Palin, I don't trust her
or McCain with my golden years.

I saw an interesting video clip from the Howard Stern show. (I would never watch him on purpose).

The interviewer switched all of O'Bamas promises with McCains. The people interviewed were asked if they supported O'Bama because of A OR B reason(mccains) and they said (AorB) also asked as the last question do you think Sarah Palin will be a good VP under O'Bama and they all said "yes".

It goes to show you that most O'Bama supporters have no idea what he supports, much less who is VP selection was.

I find it interesting that the polls were so in favor of Obama a few days ago but now it moving to a 50/50 race.

Don't be a fool, don't listen to the slanted news polls.

If McCain wins, you Democrats should try to put the news polls out of business, they lied to you. How do you do this, don't watch them, its easy.

Thank God there are real Americans that will vote and put McCain in office, sorry you left wing liberals you will not run our country, ever think about moving to France? We won't miss you.

If you wonder why Obama will lose, it was the I HATE BUSH AND STOP THE WAR

McCain 08, the only American running for President.

I have done my research, I like what I hear from Obama. I am so sorry for people who support McCain. All he does is saying Obama in raising taxes, pssst on the fat cats, he makes empty promises, really and what do you propose to the American people, pssst. War poverty more jobs lost, more homeless, but hey my friends we just reinstating the draft, and to all draft doggers, Canada cannot take you.

I would take Peace and spreading the wealth, than war and giving wealth too foreign countries.

    Go Obama/Biden08/12

please do NOT call it liberalism!!! Liberalism would be taking all the Stop signs off the roads, or disbanding police forces.
Wildness is NOT freedom as too many of you think.
Freedom is NOT doing whatever you want, it the privilege of being able to choose right from wrong.
Without guidelines and rules there is no freedom!
BTW when the credit card debts begin to default, LOOK OUT! you aint seen nothing yet.
If the government does not legislate interest rates down below loan sharking and usury rates, you are just driving faster into the same ditch. Give the free 'wild' financial institutions time to adjust by lowering credit cards rates 1% every two months until they are down to a point that is sustainable. LET organised crime deal with loan sharking, do NOT all government backed, and now Government OWNED, financial institutions to ruin the economy and people's freedom to live debt free!
IN 2009 or 2010, when there are bread lines, the news will be all about how the debt crisis was ignored. credit card debt

Why are people acting like we don't know Obama. We know more about him than we do Palin. We've only known her for a few weeks but the rural folks act like she's been here forever. That's why you know there more to it – racisim.

Obama is doing what he's suppose to be doing. Using our funds to win the election. I'd be upset if he were doing anything less – like hanging out with Joe The Plummer and pulling out nothing but dirt on Palin and McCain. Lord knows he could. Todd & Sarah Palins's connection to the Alaska Independence Party would be a start.
