CNN Electoral Map update: McCain loses ground

CNN

Check out CNN's Electoral Map.

(CNN) - Some tough news for John McCain in his own backyard, as his home state of Arizona moves from “safe McCain” to “lean McCain” in the latest CNN poll of polls.

And the Republican nominee continues to lose ground in reliably-red areas, as North Dakota moves from “lean McCain” to “toss-up” – meaning three electoral votes that had been counted for McCain are now considered up for grabs.

But there’s some good news for McCain down south: Louisiana has moved from “lean McCain” to “safe McCain.” And the movement on the map is far from done.

Barack Obama now leads McCain by 131 electoral votes, up from his 128-vote lead yesterday. CNN now estimates that if the presidential election were held today, Obama would win 291 electoral votes and John McCain 160. There are 87 electoral votes up for grabs. Again, 270 electoral votes are needed to win the White House.

The CNN Electoral Map is based on analysis from the CNN Political Unit and takes into account a number of factors, including polling, state voting trends, ad spending patterns, candidate visits, and guidance from the campaigns, parties, and political strategists. The list will be updated regularly as the campaign develops over time.

For all those who have bought into McCain/Palin's accustions about Obama's economic plan - Most of the big companies in this country are publicly offered, i.e. you can buy stock in them. Those companies rely on investors for capital and they have to report to shareholders annually. Most of the wealthy in this country fall into the category of these investors, who produce nothing but more wealth for themselves. Suggesting that rolling back their taxes to the levels of the Clinton administration will discourage them from investing and bring about the collapse of our economy is almost as silly as saying it is a socialist idea. Too much of this country's wealth has become concentrated in the hands of people with no stake in the country who produce nothing but more wealth for themselves. The McCain/Palin ticket is using a scare tactic which will only work on people who don't understand the basics of our economy.

Is Obama really going to paint the White House black? I'll be waiting for my check on my front porch soon after he gets elected. Sorry rich folks.

Obama, when asked, what made it hard for people to vote for him answered his age, his race, and his name. We should all be proud that a young, Black American named Obama can not only aspire to be President of the US, but actually have a good chance of achieving goal.

Obama has demonstrated that Americans need common sense politics, but not silly and attacking politics that one should not expect from old people like McCain.

Let's not count our chickens just yet.If McBain should somehow upset Obama we will need to say a prayer for the USA.Four more years of Bush politics(We all know that McBain voted with him 90% of the time)should cripple the country!

Maybe the GOP can bus some school children to all of the AZ voting polls on the 4th to present the appearance of popular support. It's the preferred tactic in Ohio to show the nation the semblance of a crowd for the cameras at McCain speaking rallies. Ok, I'm just being a smart-*ss, but it is trick-or-treat time.

An ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF BS and CNN knows it. How about having BARRY answer the questions tonight on Wolfe's show....
"Barry do you or do you not have a US Born Birth Certificate and would you be willing to produce it for all to see>" to put this lingering question to bed.

As for FRAMING the Election. CNN goes on and on on...Does the NYT times OWN CNN by the way...same chatter, same story, same bunch of BS.. They create their own set of POLLS with registered Democrats...what else would you expect in terms of the numbers....Move over Obama, here comes JOHN and SARAH and they are COMING FAST

And Nancy from MD, you are a moron. That manufactured Acorn hysteria has been already been proven to be way overblown.

Also, to everyone, learn what a Socialist really is before you buy into the mouth droppings from the GOP. They count on you to be too stupid to know. Don't prove them right.

People do not concern yourself with the polls. This is what the Republicans want you to do: to think this is in the bag for Obama/Biden and hope you will not vote.

Do not be fooled by the polls. Vote.

    Shabbat Shalom to all.

In anticipation of the upcoming United Staes election, ultimately "the heart of kings is in the hands of G-d". While i wish the US citizens wisdom in making the right choice, i pray to G-d "May the best person win", even if i'm wrong in my choice.

  24. Obama to be Impeached in 09'

As the economy sinks under its own weight and people continue to lose their houses, and unemployment reaches 15%--Obama will he helpless to turn the tide. He will get people even angrier at that point when he sends tax credits to crack heads sitting on street corners in Harlem. Rather than a one term president he's more likely a one year president.
