"a tax cut for 95 percent of working Americans"

1% of working Americans pays 40% of income tax. If this 1% of Americans moves to other countries, 99% of working American will be in the poorhouse. So...... keep dreaming about spreading the wealth.

I can guarantee, Bill Gates will be moving somewhere else and $200 million or more that he donates every year, will be gone too.

Democrats had majority in Congress for last 2-4 years. Did they cancel CAFTA???????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The jobs will continue being exported, unless labor unions will agree to pay cut.

Lawyer lies every time his mouth is moving - remember that joke????

John McCain thinks that being a fighter and a survivor means that he has been properly "tested" to be President. He doesn't appear to understand what the qualities are that make a good leader, other than military experience and pugnaciousness.

Like it or not, Obama has framed the discourse very expertly. He acts, then McCain Palin reacts. Obama says "Change," McCain speaks against change. Obama brings up taxes, and then McCain talks about taxes. He is the front-runner because he's got the ideas.
People, do you really care about this country? Our strength is our freedom; we've always said "all Americans are free and equal" while quietly putting down the black man. Now we have a black man too Christian to hate us back, and willing to add his fuel to the fire that burns inside us all, to be an example to his own people. We have a duty to shine out to the world, to be the city on the hill that every man wishes to travel to, and to teach others how we did it.

Mike, it is a given that a President's primary task is to keep us safe. Why didn't you call Bush to account for doing and saying nothing when he was warned about an impending attack prior to 9/11? And the excursion into Iraq has not made us safer, quite the contrary.

So many typical illiterate Republicans. That's what you get for cutting funding for special education.

So, let's connect the dots for them since so many that post here lack critical thinking skills. Ok, here goes: Priority #2 about energy independence, according to Senator Obama, IS tied to National Security. You can't be safe as long as we are importing oil from the Mideast that provides petro-dollars to Ismalic Terrorists who are controlled and influenced by Osama Bin Laden. Alright, now all you dim-witted little Republicans out there, raise your hand if I need to connect the dots for you again.

Mike, wake up. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightening than of getting killed by terrorists. If anything, that wind turbine in your yard would help keep you from sending as much of your money to gulf states where terrorists are bred. It would also keep guys like Dick Cheney from having to send the US military to war in order to secure the oil.

You will get your Messiah, sure enough. But the ones his presidency will hurt most are not the Republicans, but in fact the poor that he claims his policies would help. This will become more evident four years from now.

For even the best of men...are men at best. Obama is not the answer to your life woes and a solution to most of your problems but that is something you will have to discover for yourself.

But I have heard of a real Messiah who came 2000 years ago and was crucified and rose from the dead and is coming again...

Priorities seems good: Economy, Energy, Healthcare and education. These are based on new policy proposals. All are important for our national security.

Those priorities are commendable, but I have to think President Obama's priorities #2 and #3 may be forced lower down by pressing events in Iraq...like Bush's the failure to reach an accord about troop levels in Iraq...and the men languishing in Guantanamo...and a miserable winter fighting the Taliban. I think an "energy independence" initiative won't be ready until the Summer of '09. Healthcare reform will be even later...2010.

If the economy is #1? And if the Government truly wants to restore confidence in the Banking system and Wall Street, lets hope we start seeing some big insiders getting charged and arrested for causing this crisis from their crimes.
8 trillion dollars stolen from this economy and NO ONE HAS BEEN CHARGED ? We know this was a criminal act, let see some justice served.

Great Interview! He is so very presidential and makes me feel secure and hopeful for the first time in a long time. I've been voting for 40 years and I haven't been this excited about a candidate since Bobby Kennedy. Please, everyone, VOTE and use your brain and your common sense - do not vote on propaganda and smears. Vote what is best for this country.

I 'm so glad Obama didn't say fight, fight, fight like that old fool call McCain. As anyone with any kind of brain would know without income or revenue there are really no growth. So, if there is no growth then there is only? I think most people in America are ready to start growing once again, and stop all of the non-sense fighting.

McCain = no change

I'd be very curious as to why every day this week, around 7am Pacific Time, McCain or Palin rallies are always on CNN....is this because you were accused of being pro-Obama? I have not seen one Biden or Obama rally....

A man with a plan? Seriously??

Did Bill Clinton not say 2 days ago that Obama didn't have a clue how to handle the economic situation and ran to his advisors along with Clinton's advisors for help.

Give me something that I can sell to the American people, they are dumb enough to believe anything I say. At least he's got one thing right, the people willing to vote for him are dumb enough to be sold anything!

Dear Mike

If our government stopped meddling where it doesn't belong and concentrated on making our borders safer and our economy stronger you would be safe. But ignorant people like you believe our government does nothing wrong and does everything right for the sake of spreading democracy to place they may not be ready for it yet. Grow up, grow a set and find some intelligence.

When has McCain really been tested? Not to knock what the man has gone through, but being locked up in Vietnam and tortured doesn't mystically make a person a superior leader.

That same silly logic could apply to him being a superior toilet cleaner because of his ability to clutch the brush.

McCain is living in his deluded cold war world. I had a great deal of respect for the man, his dirty politics show no shame.

I am an independent and I have decided today, after listening to Seneter Obama, he is the right choice for our country and for the world at this time of our generation. I can predict that he will win and
the world will be much safer and at peace after the election; a psychological mind set change for this time.

The comment about keeping us safe as the first priority. That is a given. Our security has been endangered by the stupid Bush policies, and not responding to the warning of am impending Al Quida attack prior to 9/11, and I have complete confidence in the wisdom, judgment, and decency of Barack Obama.
I used to admire John McCain, but have lost so much respect for him. He has used his 5+ years of imprisonment to gain a Senate seat, and uses it at every opportunity as though that qualifies him to be President. Nonsense! As the youngest of 5 brothers who served in WWII, any one of my brothers were better qualified to be President than he is. They went through the horror of hand-to-hand combat both in the Battle of the Bulge and Okinawa; an experience totally foreign to John McCain. Certainly I honor his service in Vietnam, but his prison camp experience does not automatically qualify him to be President. He has neither the maturity (despite his long years), nor the judgment to be Commander in Chief. We don't need another President who is in the pocket of the Military Industrial Complex which Eisenhower warned us about 50 years ago.
I pray the incipient racism resident in all white Americans to some extent does not prevent us from enjoying the exciting leadership of this remarkable young man. I'm a white 82 year old who is hopeful that I am one among millions of senior citizens who appreciate the message of hope and unison Barack Obama reperesents.
There may be something in this statement that repeats something I have said elsewhere, but never in this context.

National Security is lumped in with Energy Independence. Also, should it be a priority on its own? Should we build a missle shield around Europe or should we get jobs going again? Hmm....

This is where Republicans fall way short. McCain has given nothing. Where's his priorities? I'll tell you: 1) Attack Barrack; 2) Keep Sarah away from the media; 3) Give myself and my rich friends tax cuts; 4) Continue to propogate our tax cut as a way to stimulate the economy and create jobs; 5) Keep americans scared and dumb so they never question us.

What kind of America do you want to live in?

Obama's first details are going to mend the damage Bush, and his pet monkey aka Cheney has, and continues to do with our nation against middle eastern countries (Pakistan for one) who we need help from, when it comes to terrorists working in that region. Give the election to Boris, and Natasha, and we might wake up one morning to news that a nation has attacked the US. Not a group of angry idiots who take sand showers and shave with box cutters, but a nation with a billion man army and nukes. Aim at Texas first...please. Sorry Texans...but Bush is your pet, the rest of us are tired of your pet missing the litter box.

I cannot believe that here are people out there that believes McCain is going to be different than Bush. Bush and the Republicans were a disaster for America!!

God Bless America! And the "rule of law" through reasonable people. If McCain wins this election, I am not sure we can survive the aftermath. Ignorance will have won out over intellect. Hate over kindness, injustice over justice, and yes evil over good (sorry separationist).

Palin and McCain will be the end of Democracy!

This is great... but I must say I wish Barack would not have mentioned plumbing --- Now all we are going to hear from the McCain camp is some stupid catch phrase like --How is he going to fix the plumbing without "Joe the Plumber"?. I truly hope not and it sounds stupid, but that is all that seems to come out of that campaign.

Please let this country Elect Obama/Biden!!!!!!!

This dude is smart. It is good to have a smart president with a plan. Not someone who is just told what to do .

From my perspective, America would be so much more respected and admired with Obama's leadership. He represents what the World should be and that's good news when we are talking about a super power.

The hole that has been dug for the American people during this administration is so deep and wide that it will takes years - maybe generations to dig back out. There is no quick fix. At least I believe that Obama has given thought to, has a plan for and the guts to carry forward. The sad part is thata what ever happens, the next few years are going to be hell and Obama, should he be elected, will be blamed for the hard payback. The voting public retains their water longer than their memory and common sense. Hopefully, too, with a filibuster proof voting block in the congress, perhaps the Repubs willhave to quit playing obstructionist and blaming the Dems for not doing anything. We can but hope and pray that even this is not too late to save something of the American dream for our children and grandchildren.
