As the youngest of 5 brothers who served in WWII, any one of my brothers were better qualified to be President than he is. They went through the horror of hand-to-hand combat both in the Battle of the Bulge and Okinawa; an experience totally foreign to John McCain. Certainly I honor his service in Vietnam, but his prison camp experience does not automatically qualify him to be President. He has neither the maturity (despite his long years), nor the judgment to be Commander in Chief. We don't need another President who is in the pocket of the Military Industrial Complex which Eisenhower warned us about 50 years ago. I pray the incipient racism resident in all white Americans to some extent does not prevent us from enjoying the exciting leadership of this remarkable young man. I'm a white 82 year old who is hopeful that I am one among millions of senior citizens who appreciate the message of hope and unison Barack Obama reperesents. The voting public retains their water longer than their memory and common sense. We can but hope and pray that even this is not too late to save something of the American dream for our children and grandchildren.
