CNN poll of polls: Race remains tight

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama has lost a single point of his lead over Sen. John McCain in CNN’s latest national poll of polls.

Obama is ahead of McCain by six points in Saturday’s poll of polls. Fifty percent of likely voters nationally support Obama, 44 percent support McCain, and six percent are unsure about their choice for president.

In CNN’s October 31 national poll of polls, Obama had a seven-point lead over McCain – 50 percent compared to 43 percent.

CNN’s latest national general election poll of polls consists of the following six surveys: Fox/Opinion Dynamics (October 28-29), ABC/Washington Post (October 28-31), Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby (October 29-31), Gallup (October 29-31), Diageo/Hotline (October 29-31), and IBD/TIPP (October 27-31).

CNN’s national poll of polls does not have a sampling error.

yeah let's vote for some1 like McCain who's not really stable in his mind. Yep that's really going to help us. Oh look. McCain wants to help us his fellow "prisoners"!!! i mean.... hello? palin's looking after herself now. She's been deviating off her script and wants to run for pres. in 2012. Like... does she even know what the vice-pres does?

Why doesn't America change its voting system so that it elimates "stuff-ups" ...and long lines of people wanting to vote.. We dont have this in Australia...just .paper , pencil, tick the box..no lengthy lines, all done in one day ...from 8am to 8pm...you make it too hard, and invites corruption of the system.......

6 points. Is that close? I don't know anymore. So many polls, so much commentary, so much media slobbering over Obama....6 points. With the margin of error it could be tied or a complete blowout. Is that close?

As I read these so called comments with their snide remarks and remarkably poor english I understand their perspective. They are obviously immature high school dropouts drooling over their keyboards in their mother's basements.
Too bad they know nothing of history, economics, or the Constitution of the US. If they did they might then realize that most of our present economic problems have been visited upon the country by a free spending congress (See Art. 1, sec 7 of the US Constitution) in pursuit of their goals of being reelected and social engineering to keep the unwashed voting for them.

One point? Oh no! It's the end of the world. Stop trying to make it look close, CNN. it ain't! Obama and Biden will win by a landslide (if all the votes are truly counted). The Gop/McCain and Palin's lying games will not work this time!

This is a joke.....to think this race is so close.

What is wrong with Americans. Hasn't the past 8 years of the Bush/Cheney administrations destruction of the economy and it's divisive policies not enough.

For god's sake wake up and smell the roses.

A McCain win will mean the end of the USA forever.

    Yeah, of course,

it has to "remain tight" on behalf of your Republican Bush-McSame allies, CNN, hasn't it?!

GALLUP HAS OBAMA UP BY TEN, THE LARGEST LEAD OF THE WHOLE CAMPAIGN, IN BOTH LIKELY VOTER MODELS and

UP BY ELEVEN AMONG REGISTERED VOTERS.

The ABC/WASHINGTON POST POLL HAS OBAMA UP BY NINE,

CBS HAS HIM UP BY ELEVEN.

All of the latter organizations predicted the last elections pretty well, within a margin of about 2%.

So, get the facts right here:

This is NOT a closa election, it will be a landslide for Barack Obama and the Democrats, and three days from now, the WHOLE WORLD WILL BE CELEBRATING!!!

I still don't see why Americans don't get it.

Vote McCain and help Al Qaeda recruit the entire planet

    or

Vote Obama and undo the last 2 decades of increasing hatred for America.

It's OK if you don't want to live into the next decade. I for one will miss America and visit your graves regularly if you vote McCain.

Grow up people. They are both a joke. One is a wanna be socialist who wants you to look at government for your daily bread and the other does not seem to grasp what it really means to be conservative. America is conservative plain and simple. Im not talking bible thumping. I mean they want government to stay out of their lives and can take care of themselves and their friends and family.what has happenned to this country to where Marxist thinking has become ok? Does anybody read history and remember WW2? That is what you get when you allow more and more gov control and allow them to tell you what is right and wrong and how to think. Grow up people. Veterans like me love America and what it is.

I've already sent this question to Fareed Zakaria and Larry King hoping they could get SOMEONE to ask Gov Palin directly:

“Governor Palin, if your 13 year old daughter was brutally raped and became pregnant as a result of this crime, you as her mother have the legal authority to determine her medical care. Would you as her mother want your 13 year old daughter to carry the fetus of the rapist to term?”

If Ms. Palin keeps to her rigid philosphy, she will answer “Yes, I would have her carry the fetus to term.” If she answers the question like this, the election is over. Just like it was over when Dukakis fumbled his answer to Bernard Shaw 20 yrs ago.

I am an Independent voter and have voted Democrat and Republican in the past (voted for Reagan/Clinton/Bush). I am so disappointed in the coverage of the mainstream media. Especially CNN. I can no longer trust ANY news organization to provide truthful independent news. Who is going to hold politicians to higher standards when the media is in their pockets. The American people have lost a voice...CNN change your name to BNN (Barack News Network).

Mrs Palin Sarah, Why would Sarkozy call you? Can't you use your head? It's so sad and shameful at the same time.... Thanks to the fake Nik Sarkozy, I really know who you are actually. Joe the plumber and you please go back to Alaska – get more knowledge before your run for president in 8 years. Presidency needs smarter people....
For now on, stop making reckless comment on Obama, he is the more qualified candidate to be president in this country.
