I could continue, but most of you are facing the same problems in your own neighborhoods and families.

Wake up, people! We simply cannot afford four more years of the same lousy policies. If you enjoy what's happening, vote for McCain and continue it. If you realize these policies are hurting America and we need change, vote Obama. It's never been simpler; never been a clearer choice.

Everyone's closet has some thing in it – don't open a door if your not willing to have someone open another.

People this is a non-story but it is November 1 and the election is only 3 days away. In the end none of this will make a difference and here is why:
The USA demographics are changing and only one party is addressing this. To see this just recall both conventions.
A new power base is coming to on the scene along with a new spokesman in Obama. Republicans have to come to grips with the idea that it is no longer 1980 and Ronald Regan is long dead.
Latinos and blacks, along with the young are now motivated and as a middle aged white man, I say it is about time. These are the people who will now have the power and if we are able to form a good coalition then this will be a better nation for it.
Once Obama is elected the Republicans need to take a long look at where they are and join the new century

Fortunately so much early voting has already taken place before this 'story' surfaced, obviously designed to impact those who haven't made up their minds yet. We can only hope that there are enough new voters and young voters to make up for those eggheads who would let this story sway them one way or another. Remember Billy Carter? Most families have someone in their closet that they would prefer no one knew anything about. That's just how the cookie crumbles. Now onto fixing the economy and other real issues.

Are we voting for Senator Obama or his Aunt who is not advising him on any political decision!! Why does this even matter?

First, I can understand any news outlet feeling the need to run this story, since AP had already distributed it. CNN at least went the extra step of stating they had not verified it yet and had a call in to Obama's people.

Is it relevant to the election? Based on current information no, but even though I'm an Obama supporter, I understand it's best to take a look, find out the facts, see what involvement, if any Obama has, etc. I can't imagine anything would come out that would alter my belief that Obama is the best candidate though.

On the flip side, I also consider it important to investigate how the issue came to be released to the media, and whether such a release was in and of itself, illegal.

These would be justifiable lines of inquiry at any time, but given how few days there are before the election, the timing seems likely to be much more than a coincidence.

I think it important that CNN do all they can to discover if McCain's people knew about the issue for some time and if they have any ties to whomever decided to put a bug in AP's ear. After all, if the issue is all that important, it was important the moment McCain's people learned of it and as such, should have been made public at that time, don't you think?

I imagine we'll hear something from Obama's camp as soon as they finish looking into the issue themselves. That they didn't give immediate response suggests that much of this is news to them too.

This is news? Do you Americans have any seriousness in your media concern? This sounds so identical to what's happening in my country Vietnam, the most stupid communist regime of all.

I've grown up in a Republican based family until the 2004 election.. It's clear that Obama is the best choice for this country with the Karl Rove style strategies that the GOP has been using. They don't try to appeal to voters on issues.. instead they try to smear the other candidates with garbage.

Give the republicans credit, they are TRYING to judge Obama on the content of his character. They are having a tough time shaking that other reason to judge him.

Let's see if I have this correct. Both Mr. & Mrs. Obama are lawyers or at least they have law degrees. Mr. Obamas' aunt is not a citizen of the United States, she is a citizen of Kenya. She had an Immigration Hearing that was her chance to state her case to remain in the United States but neither her nephew or his wife took the time to go plead her case in front of the Immigration Judge. How proud he must be to be able to say I'm the President of the United States and my aunt is an illegal alien. But looking at these two men, I have decided that since neither one is perfect, here is my decision. This man is a hero and he deserves this. All Obama has accomplished is that he is "running for president". He has been running for prez almost as long as he has been in office. As I understand the situation, his half-Aunt came to the US legally on a visa and then applied for political asylum due to the upheavel and persecution of the Luo tribe in Kenya. This persecution has been well documented. ICE is very strict in these matters and denied her application. The denial of legitimate asylum requests by this administration is also well-documentd. Under the law, a person may appeal the decision denying asylum and remain here during its pendency. apparently that is what has hapened here. I thought it was interesting that there are ten million foreign nationals in this position residing in the United States. That seems high to me. I do note that these appelants have to be law abiding while here otherwise they get shipped out for that reason.

I am an independent voter and John McCain's approach in this election has repulsed me completely. First of all, this story has NOTHING to do with anybody else's citizenship.....I have a friend who was born and raised here in the U.S. Yet his uncle was here in the country illegally. Does that somehow indicate that my friend is "less American born?" Just because one person in a family is an immigrant, it doesn't imply that everyone else in the family must be. It's simple logic.

Secondly, this Obama citizenship issue is ridiculous. INDEPENDENT GROUPS have verified that Obama was born in Hawaii. Even the BUSH ADMINISTRATION has done so. And guess what? The Secret Service and / or other government agencies routinely do a scan of ALL candidates anyway to make sure they meet the minimum standards (birth in the U.S., age, etc.).

If you don't like Obama, that's fine. But dislike him for his politics. And NOT for some stupid rumor that has been proven false multiple times.

So What! It's funny though how the Gov waited until this weekend to release this info. Clearly Bush is trying to make waves for Obama in hopes of knocking him off stride so close to the election. I can't say I'm really surprised, there are some families out there with this problem. Even though she "may" be illegal, she is "probably" not doing any harm to America's economy, or even security for that matter.

The main argument against illegal immigrants is that the majority of them are Hispanics coming from Mexico to make money, then send it back to their families in their native country. This is a problem for the U.S. because the money then doesn't get put back into the U.S., through stores or other things that normal working families would spend money on. That being said, we do need to fix this problem, but seing as how we won't build a fence that will keep illegals out or make all illegals citizens, it's going to be tough to solve it.

Though, I still don't see how a woman from Kenya that "may" be illegal is on the news, even if there is a relation between Obama. I'm sorry, but I doubt this tactic, not strategy will work to sway votes.

It is interesting how CNN is running this story and is not realy interested in the possible suppression of voters by the GOP resulting in taking away people rights to vote.. In light of the fact that the US goes around the world over seeing some other countries elections to make sure they are done fairly ie former president Jimmy Carter/ it is shocking that their own elections have been ripe with fraud in 2000 possible 2004 and now 2008 with the suppression of voters RIGHTS TO VOTE. Someone in this thread rose the issue of illegal contributions. If those were illegal contributions, they must be returned. Come on, you cannot question the legality of the millions of contributions because of $50 given by a poor woman who may have thought to have done the right thing. This is no-sense. I am pretty sure that the Obama campaign has gone over each contribution, trying to see if those were legal or not. But this is no-sense: the McCain campaign gets millions from the the lobbies and that's perfectly fine; the Obama gets $50 dollars from an allegedly immigrant and you make such a fuss.
