How can someone from another state say such things about people from Indiana? Jealous maybe?! Our state has made great progress and will continue to do so!

amanda   November 4th, 2008 7:49 pm ET

I will take that woo woo and add another wow woo. I also voted for Daniels and McCain.

Big mistake. The most balanced election coverage you get by switching channels all the time. But of course, if you prefer plain bias that suits your views just stick with your preferred channel. Good luck from on American to another.

I would just like to point out that Indiana is not a stupid state, we are home to some of the nation's most presigious Universities, such as Notre Dame in IU. We hold a large college student vote that balances out much of the conservative vote. Indiana is a farming state, it would be expected that many people would vote conservative, especially considering our governor is Republican has done very well for our state in the recent past, there was no need to remove him for the Democratic candidate who has a very questionable past. Why not simply criticize a voter for voting against someone you don't like instead of a whole state? Some fair american you are Red, Red WHINE!!

Paul   November 4th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

I called IN for the Republican Party – IN does not really matter in this race.
Obama 338 – McCain 200. McCain wins IN. Rove said it today – 338 Landslide. It could be better than that – 364 w/ NC and IN.

President Elect Obama

friend   November 4th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

Indiana too weak , maybe you should sleep more as jobless folks

Jimbo   November 4th, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Daniels wins. Excellent. One of the few states with a budget surplus, which is fighting back to regain lost jobs has selected a guy with experience, brains and guts.

angie   November 4th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

i live in indiana.... and i voted for daniels.... I also voted for mccain... come on republicans.... WOO WOO!!

shahbaz   November 4th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

no good news for obama .... thats bad

Jordan   November 4th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

This really shouldn't come as a shock to many. Daniels has a strong base in central Indiana, and the challenger was from northern Indiana. It's hard to win a state over an incumbent, who by many accounts has done a good job, when you aren't even centrally known within the state.

I don't see this as any real shock and its effect on Obama will probably be minimal.

JCat   November 4th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

What exactly do you know about Indiana? You sound very uneducated so please becareful who you call stupid.

Allyson   November 4th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Great! Mitch Daniels is one of the best Governors Indiana has had in a long time. He cares about education, has lowered property taxes and has gotten this state out of debt. Keep up the good work Mitch!

David   November 4th, 2008 7:41 pm ET

Red, Red, WHINE must not know what is happening in Indiana. A state with a balanced budget , the first in years, with out raising taxes, the only state in the union with a fully funded highway program, better economic conditions than any other rmidwest state, and numerous new industries, llke Honda, Toyota, and Nestles. Yeah, we sure are stupid. Too bad the rest of the country isn't as stupid.

Melissa in IN   November 4th, 2008 7:41 pm ET

Yeah for Gov. Daniels!! Despite what people say, he has done so much to bring business and jobs to our state. If you compare our unemployment rate with that of other states in our area, we are kicking butt! Employment is down everywhere and it's not Mitch's fault! GO GOV!

dave a state employee   November 4th, 2008 7:40 pm ET

how can you even vote for an idiot like mitch daniels

David Mudkips   November 4th, 2008 7:40 pm ET

No moar holograms, please!

confused   November 4th, 2008 7:40 pm ET

how can you call any race with only 13% of the votes in is stupid!!at 7:41 p.m.

Colorado84   November 4th, 2008 7:39 pm ET

I use to live in Indiana, and I vote democrat, but Mitch Daniels is a great guy, and has done wonderful things for that state!

Anonymous   November 4th, 2008 7:38 pm ET

Too Red, Red WHINE!!!!- Thanks for calling me stupid just because I live in Indiana. I guess it takes one to know one, huh?

UE Student   November 4th, 2008 7:38 pm ET

As a resident on Indiana and not a troll, I'm not very surprised. Governor Daniels has done a good job and is pretty popular. Jill Long Thompson hasn't run a very good campaign and doesn't have near as much name recognition as Daniels. These and the general trend towards Republicans in Indiana have both helped Daniels in this election.

For Women's Rights   November 4th, 2008 7:37 pm ET

Well, I am sick of the race card being used! We need to elect someone who has actually accomplished something...not voted present...oh yeah not vote for someone who looks good. Give 50 years back to McCain and he would look a lot better than Obama. It is SO stupid.Women earned the right to vote 50 years...yes 50 years after an African-American MAN! I think American needs to tell the race card players to give it a rest...the new kids in town are not going to put up with it! I think the minority has been the voice of the women. And yes, this is true...examples include telling Palin she can't handle being in the White House because she needs to take care of her kids or how much she spends on clothes...gee...Obama spends abouot 5-6K on one suit but that has never been brought up...maybe we should ask him how he got his house???

jessica   November 4th, 2008 7:37 pm ET

i live in indiana i voted for jill and i an disapointed at the predicted win by mitch.

craig   November 4th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Glad I moved from this state!

MyManMitch   November 4th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Obviously you don't even live in Indiana, because Daniels is brilliant and has a strong bi-partisan base. He's responsible for job growth, economic growth, balancing the budget, and getting more Hoosiers affordable health care and work.

Steve in NC   November 4th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Way to go Indiana! Keep it in the red.

michael   November 4th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

I agree..those rednecks deserve to have their jobs shipped overseas.

shaw   November 4th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

McCain ahead, let's just stop now- 10 years of Pelosi I cannot tolerate

Anonymous   November 4th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Red red whine? Strange, seeing has how we've had 8 years of whining democrats. Takes one to know one i guess.

Anonymous   November 4th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

"Indiana, what a stupid state they are! They actually like where this country has gone. Well, anyone with out a job can thank your Governor for that one!"

No one can be this stupid, can they? One Republican wins on a night where many democrats will be winning, and out comes the vitriol. How pathetic.

Christopher   November 4th, 2008 7:34 pm ET

red, im from indiana and i didnt vote for daniels. lumping us all together is an injustice i take offense to

v   November 4th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

This is a bad omen for Obama in that state.

Rice and Beans   November 4th, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Be nice people. We're all supposed to be Americans.

chuck   November 4th, 2008 7:31 pm ET

New Vote   November 4th, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Im new to this (my first election) so Im seeing numbers and Obama is down everywhere..is that bad sign for him?

verite   November 4th, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Good sign!

Minh   November 4th, 2008 7:26 pm ET

I think McCain will win.

Red, Red WHINE!!   November 4th, 2008 7:24 pm ET

Indiana, what a stupid state they are! They actually like where this country has gone. Well, anyone with out a job can thank your Governor for that one!

kate harrison   November 4th, 2008 7:23 pm ET
