Lest we all forget that economic policies are actually created by the legislature thru legislation. Presidents can recommend actions but final policy is stated not by him. Therefore, blame the correct branch of the government for the recent declines in economy and also a worldwide lull in economy

Honestly, only 22% believe their taxes will increase "only if Obama wins?" That's ridiculous. I GUARANTEE that was a democrat sampling! Makes sense on this site, given you haven't even mentioned the DOCUMENTED Black Panther intimidation in Philadelphia. And you wonder why your viewers are leaving.....

If people would just sit back and think and stop complaining as much as they due they would realize that everything will increase. Theres nothing to stop it right now the economy is hurting. But let's give Obama a chance for him to at least attempt to give us a solution. Obama haters once you wake up an realize that you as republicans had your chance and failed. Out with the old and in with the new. Think about it as buying a new car. You want the best and most recent model. Let the past go out to pasture.

Both Republicans and Democrats have dug us into a deep black hole. There are a few good guys in Congress, but most of them are career bureaucrats. Given how many problems the government has caused, I'm surprised more people don't throw their support behind candidates who run on a platform of limited government, like Ron Paul or the Libertarians.

I have no idea why Obama thinks raising business taxes will be good for economy. He suggested that this was necessary due to tax loop holes. that corporations take advantage of. Why not fix the loop holes instead of suggesting higher taxes as the answer for everything?

People know they are going to get taxed and they don't care... Can you say "Thank you sir, may I have another..."?

Until we can get together and realize our votes matter and we can demand politicians use our money wisely and not just as their personal bail outs - we will continue down this road.

We fought the British and founded this great country over taxes and even then there were colonists that did not want to speak up - - -

Of course taxes will go up. Waaaaay up.

Wake up: the USA is ~10 trillion in debt.

How else are we going to pay for the DEM/REPUB sponsored Mafia-style bust-out of the banking system?

Add a bunch of wealth-distribution programs, fully expected to be another 4-5 trillion, and....

Yes, that's what i call Change We Can Believe In!!!

So true. The only difference is McCain will take more from the middle and give it to the rich and Obama will take from the rich and give to the middle.

That's why McCain hates Obama's tax plan. Remember-McCain is a very very wealthy man.

Obama will be a wonderful President. I trust him to do whatever is necessary to save this country from disaster. He is smart and surrounds himself with smart people. If you are rich, too bad for you. You will start paying your fair share. If you don't make much money, you won't pay any more taxes. That simple.

obviously anyone who thinks obama meant what he said will be disappointed. anyone who has any intelligence knows you can't do everything that he says hes going to do and not raise taxes. What really bothers me is his whole spread the wealth mentality. let them go to school and get a job just like I had to do.

Of course taxes will go up under Obama.......Who do you think is going to support thedead beats that voted for him. Here comes redistribution of wealth the Democrat way.

As the dead beat lady said in an interview Obama will help me with food gas and my mortgage. Disgusting

It's midnight in Norway and I should be in bed, need to get in early at the office tomorrow - but I don't want to go to sleep without an idea of where the U.S. is heading.

I hope I wake up to a U.S. that has discovered a new path. While we wait let me tell you a little about my country:

Our political spectrum begins where your Democrats are and moves left. Since 2005 we have had what some of you would call a socialist government, our finance minister would be labelled a radical Communist. The unemployment rate is currently 1.7%. We have universal free health care and education.

Most Norwegians pay between 20-45% income tax, in addition to all sorts of other taxes and charges. Of course, some of us complain (it's in our nature to complain), but we can see that our money is well spent.

A comment on the much feared word "redistribution":
I am single, healthy and have no children, so my tax money is being "redistributed" to the benefit of others. But the funny thing about "redistribution" is that you never know when you or someone you love will be at the receiving and deserving end.

Last Christmas Eve my 78-year old mother found herself at that end as she suffered a cerebral stroke. After being rushed to the emergency room by the ambulance she was admitted to the state-run local hospital. After many tests that day it was discovered that the cause of the stroke was an irregular heart rythm. Two days later a $20.000,- pacemaker was put in place. She was kept at the hospital for two weeks for observation, all most three weeks in all. The state paid for the private physiotherapy my mother needed to regain strength in her feet.

The cost of all this for her: we don't know. We will never see the bill. My mother is feeling better than she has in many years because of the pacemaker.

Good luck tonight!

What you don't realise is that when the government keeps spending money and printing money and borrowing money, it is already a tax. Even if you have dollar bills burried in your backyard, they keep getting smaller and smaller. Are you a product of liberal education? Wakeup.

I'll donate to get us out of debt - IF OBAMA wins.

If McCain steals the election, his wealthy friends can pay.

What is with that headline? How dare you infer that means people are in bad moods. We have never seen a national debt like this before maybe paying a bit more in taxes could be a good thing.

If people would just inform themselves they would know what to expect with both candidates. The information is easily accessible for those who really want to know.

Think of the money that will be back in American hands when we withdraw from the war in Iraq.

Interesting to note that the number of those who think taxes will go up only when Obama wins is about the same as the the number who still support Bush.

     Time will tell.

Well, although Barack Obama will try, do not see how after
the diasters the republicans have created for our country
taxes cannot go up.
They have dug us into a deep black hole that will take a
miracle to survive.
