(CNN) – Democrat Barack Obama is on target to win the critical battleground state of Ohio, CNN projects.
The projected victory makes it very difficult for Obama's rival John McCain to win the White House. No Republican has ever become president without winning Ohio.
Watch: Obama wins Ohio
Ohio is the first state that went for President Bush in 2004 but flipped to the Democratic column this year. No states that went Democratic in 2004 have yet gone for McCain.
The state's 20 electoral votes would bring Obama's total to 194, versus 69 for McCain. A candidate needs 270 to win.
CNN projections are based on exit polls and partial results.
told ya so.

I am loving every minute of this. I have been listening to these conservatives and their love for Bush for the last 8 years. It is time to heal the wounds this man has caused to this country.

Game over, and the fake will now fade.
THANK GOD! This is wonderful. I pray that Senator Obama turns at least 7 Red States BLUE!
I think that this will prove to the RACIST/BIGOTS/SKINHEADS AND PROFILERS ALSO THE MINORITY HATERS THAT GOD DOES NOT LIKE UGLY!!!!!
We won't know what his real politics are until he has been in office a couple years. He's had an easy time so far with endless promises of "change." We'll see how much change we really get. There certainly will be no excuses given that the Democrats will most likely control the house and senate as well.
isn't it wonderful!

Congrats President Obama!!!!!
Barrack's "contributers" or supporters in other countries are celebrating tonight with guns and plans!!!!!!!
Woot! I overheard a phone conversation and was worried but the guy on the phone must have been Republican. I am not sure Obama will fix everything, George made it a long hard road. After his 8 years in office I hope this nation has changed for the better.
