I shocks me to see so many people that are so ignorant, that means lacking of knowledge, about Obama. some people believe things told them on wanting what they hear to be true even when they are not. do your home work and learn the truth, simple philosophy, believe nothing you hear and only half that you see!!!

I can't think of much positive to say about Obama winning other than may be now CNN and most of the black population in this country will stop talking about how racist white America is. There is no way on earth that Obama wins without a lot of white voters. So may be people can stop playing the “race card” every time something doesn’t go their way. In addition, the double standard in this country needs to come to an end. You can’t continue to have these black organization that excluded other races (black colleges, BET, black newspaper & magazines, black radio, etc.) and not consider them racist. This is racism and you need to call it what it is. The racism I see in this country now is much strong from the black community than the white community. However, the media is afraid to address it because of this double standard. Blacks seem to be able to justify their racism. This needs to be address if this country is going to move forward with improving the race relationships and I am all for improving them. However, it can't all be one sided like it has in the past (in the past whites were always pointed at as being the racial issue and the ones that needed to change). White america's get tired of being called racist or listening to some black people or the media turn every little thing into a racial issue. This kind of stuff pushes both sides toward more racism even if they are trying not to be. Obama election has been all about change, it is time we see some positive change in the black community's attitudes about whites. This election was racist. Obama got 95% of the black vote not because of what he stands for but because he was black. That is a fact Jack. I am not talking about all blacks, but many didn’t have any idea about what he stands for nor did they really care. You may want to disagree with these points, but you need to come with some facts and data because I have much to back this up.

Congratulations USA from Canada !!!!

"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures".

Alright people. It is all but over and Obama will be the next President. He was not my vote. Bush and the old Republicans in Washington did this to themselves and those who trusted them.

Let's stop with all the nastiness and come together and get OUR country back on track. Give the man a chance. Hell, Bush has 8 years. Support our President Elect Obama and let him have the opportunity to do that change he ran on.

If in 4 years it is not any better then we vote him out. That's one of the good thing about the United States of American, we get to vote for our President every 4 years.

I do wish that Pelosi and Reed would go home!

Look at the states Obama won...the entire northeastern part of the country. Now take a look at the red states, or as I like to call them, the redneck states.

People wonder why America is divided, and it's because half the people are still living in a world full of religious hate.

Perform an IQ test on the northeastern states compared to the southern and you'd see what I'm talking about. No offense to the minorities of these figures.

I just found out I lost my job today. So I apologize if I don't feel like a big celebration tonight. What would make me feel a bit better about things would be if everyone who reads this would send me $20. And if you don't, I think you are just being selfish and unpatriotic.

Reading these responses show that hatred and ignorance still lives. We should all take a look at the way the world has changed in the last eight years and judge by that. We have lost thousands of brave soldiers, hard working american citizens both white and black have lost their jobs their homes and their stability. We are in need of a major make over in the united states. Mccain ran a good race but the fact of the matter is all people of all races have lost faith in the government. Facts state that the government has been run by republicans for the past eight years. It is time for the republicans to let the democratics get the job done. Bush messed us all up and all of you who are upset that obama may win need to admit that. Obama can do this he has my support and if in one year the economy is worse I will still stand by and be proud of the vote I cast on nov. 4 2008. God bless america and God bless all the people who have hate in their hearts because you will need it.

Many congratulations from a Brit.

This is history in the making. I am so proud of every American who voted today, regardless of who they voted for.

I respect McCain, he is a good man and an excellent politicia, and that is something that won't be changed by this campaign and his mistake of selecting Palin as a running mate.

Thank you Ohio!

Congratulations, President-Elect Obama!

"Um… I noticed that a majority of hate-filled comments contain spelling and grammar errors. It shows how uneducated some people are on the wrong side and why they stayed with Bush!"

Should be "Hum. I noticed that the majority of hate-filled comments contained spelling and grammatical errors. This shows how uneducated some people can be: those who stayed on the wrong side, supporting Bush."

Don't throw stones; don't be condescending.

It's time to reunite the nation. For all those saying that it's a sad day for America, that the uneducated voted for McCain, or that the uneducated voted for Obama, that McCain supporters are racists or haters, that Obama supporters are idiots... I have news for you: this is what democracy is about. America has spoken, now we unite and make this great country even greater!

Congratulations to President Obama. He ran an impressive campaign and earned this victory. Now, let's see him deliver, because for all the talk of unity and "reaching across party lines," there are a lot of promises to fulfill and a lot of people waiting for this man's star to crash.

No surprise...since there are so many empty park benches that were filled by a Democratic judge stating park benches count as an address. Only in Dayton, Toledo, Cleveland or Ohio. Have fun screwing up this country the next four years. If anyone thinks the flag goes away, you can think again. This is America, and I'm glad to be part of it....Not Obama nation.....Pathetic.....

Liberal media bias + idiotic sheep of America + white guilt + black racism = an inexperienced, unqualified, socialist, radical, terrorist President. Time to take from the hard-working and give to the lazy and jealous. Don't forget that the economy failure is due to Democrats' green-lighting subprime mortgages. The idiocy of liberal Americans amazes me.

Come on people. We are all citizens of this wonderful country. Why are we being vicious about this. We are about to have a new president. Personally, I believe that both candidates love their country and are patriots. Either one will give us the change we desperately need (although they may take us on different paths to get there). Let's stop acting as though this is some sort of sporting event where one team loses and one team wins. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Thanks. Peace.

I think it is wonderful how Obama is using the excess campaign money to help those in financial trouble......oops....I forgot, unlike other Presidents, he is throwing a big blowout multi-media bash in Chicago. Mr. Obama, How many mouths could have been fed with that money (even more in Kenya!)

This election is historic. Never in US history will there be such a letdown as in the next four years. The depression will be both economic and social.

When will African Americans, speaking for myself get over the color of my skin and vote with heart, mind, honesty, reality, and not the lies or the color of my skin, which I will use against you, and have!

I grew up in a conservative part of Michigan. I moved to California in my 20s, and it was a liberating experience. I endured the misguided Vietnam war (initiated by Democrats), and became informed and educated along the way. I watched the Bush administration start another war that I vehemently opposed. I watched as the economy started to fail, and I wasn't surprised, though Allen Greenspan was. I've watched the Christian right exercise far too much control, and now I'm watching a change that I believe will be a vast improvement over what the Republicans have been serving up. I'm ready, however, and I believe Obama will be too, to work on mending the political fabric of our country. Rude discourse and ranting opinions need to be tempered with intelligent thought and commentary. Thank you Ohio!

Goodbye to GWB (greedy white boy) and his pitiful politics. How did our gov't grow 70% under republicans. McCain lost because he is still in the Oil Age, and it's over. The Stone Age didn't end because we ran out of stones. Today is a good day...
