Hey "Terry in NY" ... he's considered African-American because the rules of race were decided by narrow minded bigots .. like you. Long ago, fearful, hateful, white people (European Americans) decided on lovely terms like Quadroon, Octaroon, Quintroon, etc. etc. These terms were devised to ensure that even the smallest amount of "black blood" meant a person was Black ... actually it was more important to these racists that a person with any black heritage be clearly labeled "not white".

I just voted for McCain. It may not make a difference, but atleast I can say I voted for the right person. I will be able to hold my head up when this country goes down the tubes with that one in office. We have enough problems with people like Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank in office. It's called a WHITE house. Obama CLEARLY is a Muslim who has too many close relations to radicals. He won't place his hand over his heart and pledge allegence to OUR COUNTRY. Seems to me like he doesn't love his country as much I do. Maybe we can swear him in on the Koran…maybe that would make him feel more comfortable. The man lived in Indonesia for years and years and went to a Muslim school there. His father is a RADICAL from Africa. Obama's reverend was a RADICAL. And Obama didn't know that????? He went to the church for TWENTY years…his children were baptized by the man. If McCain attended some church that was racist against blacks then he would be blasted all over the news and be called a racist. But since Obama is black then people let him play the race card. It's sick and America needs to wake up. We are not ready for Barack HUSSEIN Obama to lead this country. He has absolutely NO experience at all. Would you let someone who barely knows how to fly a plane be your piolet??? I think not. Wake up people and smell the coffee. We don't need someone with Obama's background to be running our country. I voted this morning and it was sweet! McCain has no more a chance of becoming President than Sarah Palin will in 2012 (really, is that a joke? must be LOL) .

America needs a leader with ambition,heart, and an even temperament who can lead us into a new positive direction. That is definitely not McCain, he keeps bringin up his war hero status and slingin mud out of desperation cause he knows he doesn't have enough to pull this off. So what does he want? A medal? Oh wait. He probably already has one of those.
There are lots of American heroes tortured during wars of the present and past who live in America and some even more qualified than McCain to run for President. Joe the Plumber is a joke. And choosing Palin as his running mate? Just a political move to attract women voters since Obama didn't pick Hillary because had he done so, McCain's campaign would have been over before it started!

Does it not alarm anyone else that only one point of view has been represented in these responses? (all 17 so far!)?
I am very concerned that such disregard for experience and wisdom is being demonstrated here.
I believe America has a bright future no matter who is elected, but we may pay a high price getting there if we elect someone with little experience who may have essentially "bought" the presidency.
In the end we will simply reap what we have sown.

a person's vote means very little – reference comment earlier about Gore having the popular vote but lost in the electoral college – why is the electoral college still around? It makes a mockery of the 'one person, one vote' principle taught in school. And how can a president expect to be useful if over half the country didn't vote for him (or her, any day now)?
