From

(CNN) KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Polling locations that had incorrect registration rolls in Kansas City's 5th Ward now have the right books, according to Laura Egerdal, Communications Director for Missouri's Secretary of State's Office. She said the county dispatched additional pollworkers to help with the backlog of voters and long lines.

When judges for six precincts in the fifth ward opened the first set of books this morning, they discovered that the cover jackets did not match the registration rolls, said Board of Elections director Shelley McThomas. The covers - indicating ward, precinct and sequence numbers - were mixed up when the books were originally assembled.

"They looked like the right books, but when the judges opened them this morning they discovered, no, these pages aren't the right pages", McThomas said. New books were printed on-site at the Board of Elections after the problem was discovered, and were delivered by deputies to anxious judges and voters in the fifth ward.

Voter in Kansas City   November 4th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

To all voters in Kansas City, & the entire state of MO, don't give up, don't give in. I voted this morning about 7:30am and total wait time was about 50 minutes. I know standing in line for hours is not what we want to do, but for today, we HAVE to. Please go vote, don't get discouraged, and don't let anyone tell you your vote doesn't count.

He needs our vote & support. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!

Anonymous   November 4th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

McCain is not Pro-War, and has said he hates war numerous times. He was a POW for 5 years and was brutally beaten daily and you actually think he likes war? But he is also not going to let America be greatly at risk by cutting the military by 25% like the Democrats plan to do. He actually cares enough about our country that he wants to defend it from enemies. Wow, what a novel concept

BM   November 4th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

I McCain wins, we will never have peace in the world. He must know something that we don't know. The only way Republicans can win is to be dishonest. They have always been dirty.Mediocrity rises it seems. Mcain who knows nothing about economis anf he will be entrusted with a failing economy?

Midtown KC Voter   November 4th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Those of you saying this part of KCMO is heavy GOP don't live here. I do. We are talking about voters in Westport, Plaza, Midtown, Valentine neighborhoods. That is where the problems where. Very democratic area. 10 to 1 Obama/McCain signs in yards. Trust me, I live here.

Eric   November 4th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Justin,

Is a vote for Pro-Choice a vote for abortion or the right of a woman to choose? It amazes me how all the "Pro-Lifers" back McCain who is Pro-War! I guess soldiers lives weren't apart of the Pro-Life pledge.

frank   November 4th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Let's not overgeneralize either. Their are good and bad republicans and democrats. Both do tremendous acts of charity and kindness and both get arrested for the worst kinds of abuse and corruption.

Helen   November 4th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Why are Republicans so mean? I am a Democrat who volunterred on Sunday to knock on doors. A really nice lady and I were given lists for a specific area and we each did one side of the street. She knocked at a door and when the man opened it he let his medium to large dogs out without even calling to them or trying to hold them. They were barking around her legs. Needless to say, this lady was a bit scared that she might get bitten.

When she told me about it and I asked her what party he was voting for she told me he was a Republican. These people preach Christianity and they think Democrats are heathens, but the majority of them are the meanest, saddest, heartless people around.

They are hypocrits. I will wave to them when I am going through the pearly gates and they are entering the dungeon.

Eric   November 4th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

Please,

Looks like you should be on fact checking patrol. The areas that are having the most problems: Chesapeake, VA, Hampton Roads, Cleveland, OH, D.C., Philly, K.C.

They are "Heavy" Replublican. Get a grip.

frank   November 4th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Fellow Christians. Do me a favor and quit spouting hatred in the name of God. You give us a bad name. It's no wonder people think a lot of Christians are hypocrites.

Eric   November 4th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Mo,

That is the same dumb rhetoric that has cost your candidate the campaign. If you would by chance take a second to read on your own, you would know that the number of poor whites are 2 to 1 over the number of blacks in the US. Secondly, the poor, white and black, have gotten stepped on for the last 8 years. Thirdly, not all poor people want to be poor. There are many who work 40 + hours a week and are still below the poverty level. Not all Black people voted for Obama because he is black. It is amazing that through your rhetoric, African Americans have been diminished to the point that we can't have the intellect to vote for a candidate that we believe in based on message. We CAN'T be that smart.

Get a life. And by the way, I am in the tax bracket to have my taxes increased.

kdrr   November 4th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

If the Republicans posting here are a representaion of Republicans in general, I have a question. Why are you all so angry, uneducated , mean haters? Just the type of personality we DO NOT need in this fragile world.

Keep voting on the West Coast tonight!!!!!

frank   November 4th, 2008 1:53 pm ET

In couple hours the fall landscapes across of America will change the colors. The corruption, lies, dirty trick from another party is over by tomorrow. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS PRESIDENT OBAMA !!!!!

Seems to me that in this technological age, if the voting equipment is so poorly put together, the problems are likely built in on purpose!

IndyVoter   November 4th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Welcome to the Obama Show:

You need to read the REST of your Bible instead of trying to pick and choose which books/chapters that fit your ideology. If you are trying to paint Obama as the anti-Christ via Revelations 13, try again. The Bible clearly states that "no man calls Jesus the Christ but by the Holy Spirit. AND it says that if a man "confess with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he shall be saved. Barack Obama has done both very publicly. Now if you want to cast judgment him and challenge his confession of faith, then you go ahead and do that...that will be between you and God. But you can't confess that Christ is your Lord and be the anti-Christ at the same time.

So just stop it! Stop trying to demonize anyone who doesn't think the same way that you do. If you feel he is in error, then as a fellow Christian you should pray for him, not judge him or others who support him.

Just Wondering...   November 4th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Tulsa & PA for Obama,

Thank you so much for your comments! I am new to the voting/political thing and I am very interested in learning absolutely everything I can. I like to listen to everyone's opinion, research and try my hardest to understand it all so that I can vote in good conscious and how I truly feel not on what I was told to do. It is very confusing to someone who hasn't been involved as long as it seems everyone else has.

Again, thank you so much!

LadyBird   November 4th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Yep, it looks like Obama is going to win and now everyone that doesn't work will get a free ride. Free education, free insurance. I work for a living and I have to pay for my insurance. And I will have to pay for my children's education, but now that the Democrats are going to be running the country, everyone else will get all of these things for free. And I'll be paying for it thru my tax increases. Let's see, how does this work? Obama has raised more money than any other presidentical candidate, so guess what? He will be doing favors for all his supporters. And they are already rich or they wouldn't have been able to give him money. And then we have the poor people who have nothing. And he will be giving them EVERYTHING they want. So, that leaves the middle incomers to support the country. Then we'll have NOTHING. Seems like the democratic way to me!

FaithPrevails in Wisconsin   November 4th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Regarding problems at the polls:
1. Why wait until the day of the election to figure out: a) whether voting machines are functioning properly, b) to establish an alternative voting method, c) ensure that poll volunteers are knowledgeable about the voting process??
Listen, when I throw a party, I prepare AHEAD OF TIME! How long have we known that 2008 was an election year??!!!

2. The poll volunteers look like they're 100 years old for goodness sakes – at least in my small town! (Beloit, WI) They don't understand technology much less can hear and understand a question related to voting!

My thoughts:
The majority has had control of how this country is run since our nation was formed. Historically, the majority has lied, manipulated, cajoled, enslaved, ensnared, enticed, and disempowered any other people from trying to achieve the American dream. This country is based on Christian principles, yet there are still many, very many, who refused to believe in our own constitution which states "all men are created equal". United States has for too long been a nation of proclaiming freedom, yet maintains efforts to oppress those who dare to believe that the American dream is for all! Obama winning this election is proof positive that he and men and women like him, are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness can be achieved in this country by anyone who dares to dream. It is the responsibility of ALL AMERICANS to uphold the Declaration of Independence, and see that whenever any form of government becomes destructive it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it – we do this not by physical force, but with the power granted to every United States citizen….the right to vote.
The foolish things of the world will always be used to confound the wise.
God Bless America! Happy Election Day!

Re: Justin

It is NOT AT ALL hypocritical for a Catholic or any other Christian who honors LIFE to support Obama because he respects personal choice. A vote for choice is a vote for human dignity and does not amount to voting for abortion. That decision is between a person and their God or Conscience! When will all the moralizers realize their whole platform depends on people having choices? - Open your mind and stop shooting democracy in the foot!

John CH   November 4th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Gee folks calm down.... What is all the religious talk, I thought there was a seperation of church and state? and all this talk about a revolution like in cuba and the black panthers in Phily? But it is sad that the greatest democracy in the world can't figure a quick, safe way for the people to vote.... Relax, the meek shall prevail......

Susan, Macedon New York   November 4th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

It begins. I'm totally expecting the Republicans to try to steal this election the way they did in 2000 and 2004. This isn't a democracy to them, it's a source of wealth and power and they have sucked the life out of this country. If McCain wins there had better be some serious recounting done – and not by Republicans alone in a room with all the ballots. Also, somebody needs to make sure the voting machines weren't hacked or interfered with in any way.

Dick Cheney won't leave on his own – he'll have to be hauled out, kicking and screaming all the way! I'm sure Bush is more than ready to get back to the ranch so he can continue goofing off!

Clinton handed Bush a surplus that quickly got squandered...

Clinton made problems of his personal life, but he came no where near putting the US in the position it is in today...

He wasn't perfect, by no means, and had some part in some of our problems, but Bush affected way more lives and the country's reputation in a much more damaging way

FWIW – my voting went very smoothly this morning. I arrived at the polling place about a minute before 6:00. And, while there was already quite a line, the door opened promptly at 6:00 and I was out by 6:32. Not bad, considering the parking lot was fuller than I had ever seen it on election morning.

All I want to say is why are you republicans still haters? Why are you still trying to paint a horrible picture of Obama? STOP ALREADY! We refuse to believe your lies, and scare us into not voting for Obama. Just like you ALL scared us into a war for NO REASON.

We are all Americans aren't we? So answer this one question for me? How dumb and ignorant do you think we look to other countries right now? Real real dumb! You republicans are making us AMERICANS look dumb, stupid and ignorant. You wonder why other countries hate AMERICA, because we have so much hate here in the good old U.S. We it looks like are leading from example; well I am not proud at the hatred I have read on CNN, FOX NEWS and on other pages. You all make me sick.

Vote for that one person you believe will be a great leader, and who you feel is smart enough to run our country right now? Put away race, religion, who has had more experience and who hasn't. Because both parties are guilty of that aren't they? VOTE FOR THE PERSON WHO YOU BELIEVE HAS IT IN HIM TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY.

That one person was clear to me 2 months ago, and I have no idea how anyone can be undecided or think that Palin and McCain will be right for this country. Think with your heads people! Think about our children and our parents. It’s my parents that lost their 401k.

It's time to go to online voting. It would be so much simpler. Everything could be verified online + you'd get a documenting who you voted for. There could be a website that shows instantaneous tallies but only to those that cast a ballot or they could be blocked until after closing then .... Voila!!!! .... you know what is happening.

That way the Republicans couldn't cheat or infiltrate, cheat and point the finger at someone else. These are the same Watergate scum from almost 40 years ago.

There our voter problems going on in Madisonville, Ohio which is in Hamilton County aka: Cincinnati, Ohio. All the scanners went down in this predominantly African American community. Not to cast despersions but the man in charge of the Board of Elections is a heavy Republican /McCain supporter.

Something everyone should know: You can't legally be fired / terminated from your job because you where in line waiting to vote. If the employer is given notice of your situation they are required to give you the time needed to cast your vote. The employer doesn't have to pay you for the time, but must excuse your absence.

Sen. John McCain was an early supporter of launching a war against Iraq. OBAMA08   November 4th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

VOTE FOR OBAMA!!! Can you really afford to vote for McCain?? We do NOT need another George Bush!! McCain has voted with Bush 90% of the time. A vote for McCain will be re-electing Bush for another 4 years!! As Americans we can't do that. McCain intends to keep troops in Iraq indefinitely!! A vote for Obama is a vote to bring your loved ones home. A vote for Obama is a vote to help the economy. Think about this, In 2004 all of the republicans ran out and voted for Bush and were so excited at what he would do for this country and look what he has done for it!!! This country is in the worst economic depression in decades. Prices are soaring, businesses are closing, crime is at an all time high, and just think McCain has voted with Bush 90% of the time. So how well do you think the economy will get with another Bush in office??? TODAY is the day we can stop Mc Bush... go to your nearest polling place and vote for OBAMA.. Call your friends and family in/out of state and tell them to vote for OBAMA before you get the notification that your loved ones in the military are dead. Save your family. When your loved ones die in this war do you think the McBush supporters will care? The money poured out in this miserable war is money that should stay here in the U.S. to help us out of this financial crisis. VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN '08

Kodi Kodie   November 4th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Allegations of intimidation; incorrect registration rolls at polling booths; not enough voting machines; no comfort stations for senior/disabled citizens or all voters; apparent unpreparedness for the turnout in areas where exceptionally high turnouts predicted. What next? The dirty tricks and face of Karl Rove in the background comes to mind....Zimbabwe anyone? I guess I will always be suspicious.

I make one silly little comment and you just fall all to pieces......my comment was basically an observation based on looks but no where even close to as bad and insulting as repubs have been this election season!! And no where near as bad as the nasty things conservs have said about Michelle Obama. Oh but you don't really care about that now do you? And by the way, no I don't really believe that a rich, elitist like her who has mansions and servants all over the place has really any concept of helping people out in any capacity. I am sure if she does it is all for show! Have a good day!

paper ballots seem like the only sure way to vote, it would be way too difficult to create fraud on a wholesale nature, the way they can electronicaly or mechanicaly (hanging chad). On the subject of how many trees that would take, its moot, congress sets the number of trees cut down, and its always more than we need, (keeps the price low). and besides Freedom has paid a price far higher than that many times over. Just Wondering...   November 4th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I have been reading these blogs all morning and I am seeing where people are saying that we need to elect Obama to shake things up, to clean things up, etc. Alot of people are saying Bush has ruined this country over the past 8 years and that may be true, I don't know. But, the question that I just would like to ask is what did Clinton do during his term? Does anyone feel like Bush had a mess to clean up when he entered the White House? I'm not saying that Clinton created a mess. I'm not saying that Bush created a mess. I'm just curious of other people's thoughts.

I do agree with everyone else though when they say GO VOTE!

Donna from Kansas City   November 4th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I waited in line two hours at this polling site in Kansas City. How is it possible in this day and age that a mistake of that magnitude could be made. It was totally unorganized and I am worried the people who left won't get the chance to come back and vote. Yes, the time should be extended. Some people left because they were worried about the validity of their ballot with the way they were allowing votes to be cast. Really, they had one poll worker and one computer to check everything. It took way too long to get it resolved. The polls had been opened two hours when the books finally arrived. I know....I was there. GO OBAMA!!!!! Good will win out this time.

Patty   November 4th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I voted in Kansas City this morning. The wait time wasn't bad. They only had one issue when I was in line with the machine, but it took less than a minute to fix. Other than that, I had a great experience!!

Why in the world would ANYONE want Obama (BIG LIAR) as their president? He can't even prove he was born in the US. He doesn't speak about his WHITE mother. He just claims to be African/American. He was raised Muslim (ANTI-American), he doesn't salute our flag and wants to take anything having to do with GOD out of our constitution and remove the Pledge of Allegience from being said anywhere!!! The fact that you are apparently such a proponent of the "love thy neighbor" philosophy, are Catholic, yet are voting for someone that is pro-abortion is ridiculous. One of the main fundamentals of the Catholic faith is that life begins with conception. I admire you for making a point to mention your faith in your user name, but making an election choice that is completely contradictory to that faith. Bravo.

IndyVoter   November 4th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

In this country, A nano-bot can perform medical procedures inside the body, we have landed spacecraft on & taken pictures of the moon and Mars, a "man" had a baby yet we can't figure out make a voting machine function properly? What is wrong with this picture? Unacceptable! This needs to be one of the next President's top priorities or at least a pledge to get this system fixed and up-to-date by the end of his first term!!!!

DBC   November 4th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Hip Hip Horray! My husband, my son( 2 yr. old), and I voted on Hallowen in the State of Florida. We demonstrated to our son that the American dream will remain alive for his generation to come with Obama. Let's make history with Obama/Biden 08.

God bless America!

We can put a robot on Mars; go to the moon seven times and return–how can something so simple be so complex...it takes a village–a village of idiots.

I think the intensive coverage by CNN and other national and local media have but the registrars of voters on notice. Even texas has had a smooth response to the hugh turnout.

Thank you CNN

I am so proud that it was taken care of immediatley!!!!! Go MO.

Denise   November 4th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Everyone should follow Oregon's example and go to vote by mail. No long lines, no pressure to make quick selections, three weeks to carefully consider your options. Ballots can be mailed up to the Friday before election day, and then on the Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday can be dropped in official ballot collection boxes at county election's offices. Quick and easy and very hard for targeted disruptions by groups determined to interfere with our rights.

Russell in MO   November 4th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Missouri has only voted for the loser once in the last century, I hope we can keep that trend going. It all depends on how many racists come out of the woodworks. Barack the vote!

Mad In AZ   November 4th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I was given a provisional ballot today in AZ even though I was at the right precinct, my name was on the roll books and I had my valid driver's license.

Turns out they've allegedly sent an early ballot which I neither asked for nor received. My husband had the same experience, as did most people at our precinct. The provisional line was very long – the regular line did not exist.

The provisional ballots in AZ won't be counted today, and historically 30% of them are thrown out.

Voted Obama Today   November 4th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I think the problems are definitely intentional. There have been reports of McCain supporters trying to discourage people from waiting while the voting problems are ironed out and historically the biggest voting problems have been in poor or minority neighborhoods. WMU apparently only has one voting machine for the ENTIRE school. Thousands of students, and 1 voting machine. Oi.

BeauMan   November 4th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Catholic-mom-4-OBAMA

Please go back to your Bible and cite the verse where our Lord praises and approves of partial-birth abortion? You better take a hard look at your own religious convictions...then rest oh so comfortably with your Obama vote. And the lies...please, do your factual research on your "Messiah".

Rob R   November 4th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

They should extend the hours due to the delay. It is really sad how unorganized and possibly corrupt our elections are.

The election process needs to be totally reformed for next time. People should not have to wait over 3 hours to vote – or at the very least, they should declare Election Day a national holiday and offices closed so that people can vote and not worry about missing work.

Second, we need to do away with all electronic touch screen voting or any other electronic system that can conveniently break down or be hacked. I just find it unbelievable that I can go to a ATM and never have a problem, but these voting machines break down all the time. Either the programmers of these machines are not well trained or they are rigged to break down.

And most importantly, these state election boards need to have clearly thought out contingency plans and ensure adequate number of voting machines at each polling site.

Country first - really?   November 4th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

This is supposed to be a first world country but the politics, especially the type now being orchestrated by the Republicans, seems so third world. To top it off, after all the years of preparing and tweaking (in between campaign harangues) we have glitches in the voting system. We need change.

@ "The Prophecy Fulfilled" .......... please, GOD doesn't work with hate and lies! Stop with the hate-and-fear-mongering. Did you not read 2 Timothy 5:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of love and a sound mind"?

What is SO disturbing to me, is that the far-right-Republicans claim to be Christian but spew such hate, division and LIES! Here are a few Scripture verses to think about:

" Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord' and DO NOT DO what I say?" (Luke 6:46)

DO YOU KNOW WHAT CHRIST ASKS OF US?

"LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU."

"LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF."

HOW ARE LIES, HATE, FEAR AND DIVISION THAT ARE THE POLITICAL TACTICS OF THE REPUBLICAN FOLLOWING THOSE TWO COMMANDMENTS?

HOPE TRUMPS FEAR & HATE EVERY TIME!

PEACE BE WITH YOU!

I think we need to eliminate voting machines from our elections. We should go back to pencil and paper where the risk of fraud is minimal.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank CNN for setting up the hotline and keeping abreast of all the problems that are happening across America. I wish more news stations had done the same. People have the right to vote and their votes should be counted properly.

I voted by mail and to make sure my vote is counted I followed the instructions carefully, made sure I completed the ballot, made sure my selections were visible, signed the envelope as directed, and then I put TWO stamps on the envelope just to make sure.

RR   November 4th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

I actually voted at one of these locations. The polls at this location were supposed to open at 6:00AM. I arrive around 6:25AM and found 200+ people in front of me. The polls finally opened approx. 2 hours later. All in all, it took me about 3 hours.

Jimmy J   November 4th, 2008 12:53 pm ET

All I read in the blogs is division among americans. And OBAMA is responsible for this. Black-Whites... incredible. black panthers in philly, LA ready for riots... and OBAMA devoters are proud of this.
This election is not about principles anymore... this has turned into followers...blind followers...
After Obama fails on his promises of FREE everything... and the evil corporate and small business owners take their business somewhere else, what is going to happen?.... CUBA... Asks the Cuban what revolution they have had.... CHANGE...

kdrr   November 4th, 2008 12:52 pm ET

I've been watching CNN (in California) all morning. Constant McCain ads about Obama and Rev. Wright. I gues if you don't have anything better to say, throw that out again on Election Day.

Californians, get out and vote for Obama even though we are not a battleground state. Let's give him the largest popular vote count ever! Also, be sure to vote for your Democratic Senator and Congressional Rep. Do not be fooled by thinking the race is over and that your vote won't change the outcome. We need to give Obama a monster mandate so we don't have to worry about election fraud.

Thank you.

I just don't get how some people just don't understand the importance of being exacting and detail-oriented. Whoever put that together was dumb. Whoever was responsible to make sure that the books HAD been put together correctly was dumb. Whoever was responsible to get the right books to the right precincts was dumb.

Gloria - Minnesota   November 4th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

It is shameful that in the United States of America, in 2008, with all the technology, knowledge, and history behind our election process, so many problems can arise! It seems that paper ballots nationwide are the way to go–even though it may kill too many trees!

We need to get our act together and figure out a sure, safe, and fraud free method of holding our elections!

Obama/Biden in '08!!

mark   November 4th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

I live in CA, the most populous and 3rd largest state in area. It took 1/2 an hou to vote this morning, more time than in the previous 5 elections in which I have voted. In trying to understand the problems in other states re: voting, I seem to think this happens in states that have been "red" the past few elections (i.e., OH, FL, MO, NC, VA, GA etc). To me, this sticks out like a sore thumb that the repubs have been successful in their voter suppression efforts. Maybe it's just my perception, but the media coverage seems to center in these red areas. Does CNN have any correlation studies, or is it truly a national problem?

Hope this election can change this cycle so ALL citizens can exercise their civic rights (& duty) and vote.

Anonymous   November 4th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Don't they do a "dry run" of these things? Really, you didn't know you had the wrong books until the day of the election?

So now will the hours be extended at these locations to accomodate the several hour delay?

Let's get a nation wide standard for these things! With enough machines and ballots to eliminate these issues. It should not be difficult to vote!!

BO08

Good to see only Republicans are mean spirited.

Do you know anything about Cindy McCain? Or do you just spout off the nonsense you read on the internet. I personnaly dont know Cindy McCain but have read about her humanitarian trips to Africa. You may not agree with her husband's politics but I find it hard to believe that someone who travels on humanitarian trips to Africa is a witch. The division in this country is NOT a one way street. It is caused by people like you from BOTH sides not just the Republicans.

This country, which is allegedly the greatest democracy in the world, has morons running its elections. There is no excuse for all the problems at the polls that we've been reading about this morning. And I'm sure they'll just get worse as the day progresses.

Joe Green   November 4th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Your article about people opposing early voting is idiotic.

You unscientifically sample three people and conclude that early voting is bad.

One idiot changed their mind. Whose fault is that? The whole concept of being "undecided" after two years ot campaigning is ridiculous. Read up and vote and make your choice.

Early voting puts an end to "October Suprises" and Karl Rove's strategies.

GOOD!

anonymous   November 4th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

The Bushes want Obama to win, so Hilary is eliminated. So Jeb Bush can run in 2012. Well God told me to make sure that Jeb Bush never becomes president. See Jeb, I believe in God too, you and youre sleazy Florida friends are not the only ones who believe in God. And God told me you are a fraud.

The Prophecy Fullfilled   November 4th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Never doubt the Bible again... It is really happening here and now:

.. “And in the land shall rise the son of Cain” From the north The Deceiver[Palin] a known Beast of false witness, will take the mark of Cain.
Together they seek to spread fear and invoke hate among the refugees of sin.
In their quest for power they will ignore the light of truth shining on the deeds and words they proclaim.
But take heart, for throughout the land the seekers of light shall rise up and not be fooled. With their strength, the mark [Cain] will be cleansed from the earth and no longer hold power to sway the blind."

Can I get an amen...? :)

Bushwhacked in Eugene, OR   November 4th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

How is it that ANY polling place, machine, or system can possibly be so poorly organized or run that this kind of problem can exist? It's not as if they didn't know this was coming!

Our election system badly, seriously, needs reform. Do it by mail, as we do in Oregon. It's organized, and it works with no fraud, no machines, no lines, no weather or transportation issues.

It seems so simple, to me!
