To all voters in Kansas City, & the entire state of MO, don't give up, don't give in. I voted this morning about 7:30am and total wait time was about 50 minutes. I know standing in line for hours is not what we want to do, but for today, we HAVE to. Please go vote, don't get discouraged, and don't let anyone tell you your vote doesn't count.

He needs our vote & support. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!

McCain is not Pro-War, and has said he hates war numerous times. He was a POW for 5 years and was brutally beaten daily and you actually think he likes war? But he is also not going to let America be greatly at risk by cutting the military by 25% like the Democrats plan to do. He actually cares enough about our country that he wants to defend it from enemies. Wow, what a novel concept

Those of you saying this part of KCMO is heavy GOP don't live here. I do. We are talking about voters in Westport, Plaza, Midtown, Valentine neighborhoods. That is where the problems where. Very democratic area. 10 to 1 Obama/McCain signs in yards. Trust me, I live here.

Justin,

Is a vote for Pro-Choice a vote for abortion or the right of a woman to choose? It amazes me how all the "Pro-Lifers" back McCain who is Pro-War! I guess soldiers lives weren't apart of the Pro-Life pledge.

Why are Republicans so mean? I am a Democrat who volunterred on Sunday to knock on doors. A really nice lady and I were given lists for a specific area and we each did one side of the street. She knocked at a door and when the man opened it he let his medium to large dogs out without even calling to them or trying to hold them. They were barking around her legs. Needless to say, this lady was a bit scared that she might get bitten.

When she told me about it and I asked her what party he was voting for she told me he was a Republican. These people preach Christianity and they think Democrats are heathens, but the majority of them are the meanest, saddest, heartless people around.

They are hypocrits. I will wave to them when I am going through the pearly gates and they are entering the dungeon.

Mo,

That is the same dumb rhetoric that has cost your candidate the campaign. If you would by chance take a second to read on your own, you would know that the number of poor whites are 2 to 1 over the number of blacks in the US. Secondly, the poor, white and black, have gotten stepped on for the last 8 years. Thirdly, not all poor people want to be poor. There are many who work 40 + hours a week and are still below the poverty level. Not all Black people voted for Obama because he is black. It is amazing that through your rhetoric, African Americans have been diminished to the point that we can't have the intellect to vote for a candidate that we believe in based on message. We CAN'T be that smart.

Get a life. And by the way, I am in the tax bracket to have my taxes increased.

Welcome to the Obama Show:

You need to read the REST of your Bible instead of trying to pick and choose which books/chapters that fit your ideology. If you are trying to paint Obama as the anti-Christ via Revelations 13, try again. The Bible clearly states that "no man calls Jesus the Christ but by the Holy Spirit. AND it says that if a man "confess with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he shall be saved. Barack Obama has done both very publicly. Now if you want to cast judgment him and challenge his confession of faith, then you go ahead and do that...that will be between you and God. But you can't confess that Christ is your Lord and be the anti-Christ at the same time.

So just stop it! Stop trying to demonize anyone who doesn't think the same way that you do. If you feel he is in error, then as a fellow Christian you should pray for him, not judge him or others who support him.

Tulsa & PA for Obama,

Thank you so much for your comments! I am new to the voting/political thing and I am very interested in learning absolutely everything I can. I like to listen to everyone's opinion, research and try my hardest to understand it all so that I can vote in good conscious and how I truly feel not on what I was told to do. It is very confusing to someone who hasn't been involved as long as it seems everyone else has.

Again, thank you so much!

Yep, it looks like Obama is going to win and now everyone that doesn't work will get a free ride. Free education, free insurance. I work for a living and I have to pay for my insurance. And I will have to pay for my children's education, but now that the Democrats are going to be running the country, everyone else will get all of these things for free. And I'll be paying for it thru my tax increases. Let's see, how does this work? Obama has raised more money than any other presidentical candidate, so guess what? He will be doing favors for all his supporters. And they are already rich or they wouldn't have been able to give him money. And then we have the poor people who have nothing. And he will be giving them EVERYTHING they want. So, that leaves the middle incomers to support the country. Then we'll have NOTHING. Seems like the democratic way to me!

Regarding problems at the polls:
1. Why wait until the day of the election to figure out: a) whether voting machines are functioning properly, b) to establish an alternative voting method, c) ensure that poll volunteers are knowledgeable about the voting process??
Listen, when I throw a party, I prepare AHEAD OF TIME! How long have we known that 2008 was an election year??!!!

2. The poll volunteers look like they're 100 years old for goodness sakes - at least in my small town! (Beloit, WI) They don't understand technology much less can hear and understand a question related to voting!

My thoughts:
The majority has had control of how this country is run since our nation was formed. Historically, the majority has lied, manipulated, cajoled, enslaved, ensnared, enticed, and disempowered any other people from trying to achieve the American dream. This country is based on Christian principles, yet there are still many, very many, who refused to believe in our own constitution which states "all men are created equal". United States has for too long been a nation of proclaiming freedom, yet maintains efforts to oppress those who dare to believe that the American dream is for all! Obama winning this election is proof positive that he and men and women like him, are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness can be achieved in this country by anyone who dares to dream. It is the responsibility of ALL AMERICANS to uphold the Declaration of Independence, and see that whenever any form of government becomes destructive it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it – we do this not by physical force, but with the power granted to every United States citizen….the right to vote.
The foolish things of the world will always be used to confound the wise.
God Bless America! Happy Election Day!

Re: Justin

It is NOT AT ALL hypocritical for a Catholic or any other Christian who honors LIFE to support Obama because he respects personal choice. A vote for choice is a vote for human dignity and does not amount to voting for abortion. That decision is between a person and their God or Conscience! When will all the moralizers realize their whole platform depends on people having choices? -- Open your mind and stop shooting democracy in the foot!

Gee folks calm down.... What is all the religious talk, I thought there was a seperation of church and state? and all this talk about a revolution like in cuba and the black panthers in Phily? But it is sad that the greatest democracy in the world can't figure a quick, safe way for the people to vote.... Relax, the meek shall prevail......

It begins. I'm totally expecting the Republicans to try to steal this election the way they did in 2000 and 2004. This isn't a democracy to them, it's a source of wealth and power and they have sucked the life out of this country. If McCain wins there had better be some serious recounting done - and not by Republicans alone in a room with all the ballots. Also, somebody needs to make sure the voting machines weren't hacked or interfered with in any way.

Dick Cheney won't leave on his own - he'll have to be hauled out, kicking and screaming all the way! I'm sure Bush is more than ready to get back to the ranch so he can continue goofing off!

Honestly, I would like to know the political affiliation of every one of the ACORN people that supposedly collected false names. It seems too convenient that so many were in what are considered RED states. It's one thing if you are dumb and get caught trying to scam the system and another to hmmmmmmmmm.. create a controversy where there isn't one.

In regards to this whole christian for McCain or Obama.

Obama is pro choice, he believes women have a sound mind and can think for themselves. McCain believes in abandoning his wife because women are to be used and tossed aside.

Vote for a REAL man, not male chauvanist pig. Vote Obama, the true Hero.

Just wondering...

Clinton handed Bush a surplus that quickly got squandered...

Clinton made problems of his personal life, but he came no where near putting the US in the position it is in today...

He wasn't perfect, by no means, and had some part in some of our problems, but Bush affected way more lives and the country's reputation in a much more damaging way

FWIW - my voting went very smoothly this morning. I arrived at the polling place about a minute before 6:00. And, while there was already quite a line, the door opened promptly at 6:00 and I was out by 6:32. Not bad, considering the parking lot was fuller than I had ever seen it on election morning.

Just Wondering.
Good God! Do some research for yourself!
He created 20 million new jobs, balanced the budget (along with the Republican Congress, give credit where it's due) Gave us a budget SURPLUS instead of a projected 1.4 TRILLION dollar deficit next year....No wars, better education, etc....
Be informed!
Don't ask of others what you can do for yourself!
Vote your concience,
I will be voting for the man who wants to bring us together and asks us to each do our part. OBAMA, 08

All I want to say is why are you republicans still haters? Why are you still trying to paint a horrible picture of Obama? STOP ALREADY! We refuse to believe your lies, and scare us into not voting for Obama. Just like you ALL scared us into a war for NO REASON.

We are all Americans aren't we? So answer this one question for me? How dumb and ignorant do you think we look to other countries right now? Real real dumb! You republicans are making us AMERICANS look dumb, stupid and ignorant. You wonder why other countries hate AMERICA, because we have so much hate here in the good old U.S. We it looks like are leading from example; well I am not proud at the hatred I have read on CNN, FOX NEWS and on other pages. You all make me sick.

Vote for that one person you believe will be a great leader, and who you feel is smart enough to run our country right now? Put away race, religion, who has had more experience and who hasn't. Because both parties are guilty of that aren't they? VOTE FOR THE PERSON WHO YOU BELIEVE HAS IT IN HIM TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY.

That one person was clear to me 2 months ago, and I have no idea how anyone can be undecided or think that Palin and McCain will be right for this country. Think with your heads people! Think about our children and our parents. It’s my parents that lost their 401k.

GOD Bless Obama! 2008

It's time to go to online voting. It would be so much simpler. Everything could be verified online + you'd get a documenting who you voted for. There could be a website that shows instantaneous tallies but only to those that cast a ballot or they could be blocked until after closing then .... Voila!!!! .... you know what is happening.

That way the Republicans couldn't cheat or infiltrate, cheat and point the finger at someone else. These are the same Watergate scum from almost 40 years ago.

There our voter problems going on in Madisonville, Ohio which is in Hamilton County aka: Cincinnati, Ohio. All the scanners went down in this predominantly African American community. I find this odd and just hope someone is paying attention to the paper ballots that are being transported to the Hamilton County Board of Elections. Not to cast despersions but the man in charge of the Board of Elections is a heavy Republican /McCain supporter.

I used a paper ballot just so I wouldn't have a machine break on me. What I ended up doing is putting it in a machine....go figure. How dumb is that?

Something everyone should know: You can't legally be fired / terminated from your job because you where in line waiting to vote. If the employer is given notice of your situation they are required to give you the time needed to cast your vote. The employer doesn't have to pay you for the time, but must excuse your absence.

Obama! Obama!....USA! USA! USA! I voted by mail a week ago. No problems! The great NW has some great ideas! Most of our counties are now mail only voting. I'd love to see the rest of the country "Going NW"! Oregon is all mail-in voting, and we're closing in on it. I trust the USPS much more than I'd trust a polling place. There's no intimidation, suppression, delays, fraud...only good clean voting fun!

Sen. John McCain was an early supporter of launching a war against Iraq. "I believe Iraq is a threat of the first order, and only a change of regime will make Iraq a state that does not threaten us and others," he said in a speech to the Center for Strategic & International Studies on Feb. 13, 2003.

i agree with mccain its time we changed "OUR" regime,,,,
