West Palm Beach (CNN) - Florida's Palm Beach County is reporting problems at a couple of polling stations: so-called "undervotes," where machines reject ballots because some voters are not filling out the second page of the ballot, a spokesman for the county Board of Elections confirmed. The page contains proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution.
The spokesman said these undervotes are legal. The scanner spits the ballot back and reminds the voter to vote on the second page, the spokesman said, adding that the voter then has the choice of voting or registering the undervote.
Watch: Floridians vote
He said in some cases people simply forget to fill out the second page, but most voters seem to be intentionally skipping that part of the ballot.
The town of Palm Beach is also reporting minor sporadic voter machine failures, the spokesman said. A handful of machines had to be replaced.
One polling station in the county opened one hour late because of a problem with their precinct voting list.

Please, Mike, Rick and Ernie, can't we disagree without hatred? Why must you demonize the other side? Why must you be so hateful?
Redistributive change=free market capitalism (once again) the concept stolen by the priveleged and the unregulated growth of hedge funds--i pray they be so heavily regulated and transparent that every one of them is shuttered. I am a financial advisor who strongly supports Obama. Nice try, Florida shenanigans won't buy the election this time because the money to pay for them is probably stuck in a Lehman Brothers frozen, yet hedged, prime broker account. Jeez, what a PITY!
Florida never had problems until Jeb and the Republican's took over and stole the 2000 election. Voting is messed up because they can't win an election fair and square. Jeb might be gone this time but the republicans are still in control!
So Florida is the only one with the problems now? Educate yourself before you say anything more please.
Bush/McCain Tax Plans= Redistributive Change upwards=Welfare for the richest 1% of the world.
Make no bones about it, unless you make 250,000k a year your after tax income will go down under McCain and the exact opposite if you make over that. And thats not my words or either candidates, its the Tax Policy Center's traditional evaluation. It's fact.
C'mon people those of us who are voting for CHANGE (Obama) ...well this is where and when it begins. Let us stop with the finger pointing and the attacks upon each other. There is a shift occcurring in the world... a shift from hate into love..into tolerance...into acceptance of who we truly are. Let us ALL be the CHANGE...it begins with us...it begins one person at a time...It begins NOW~
Obama~Biden 08!!
I bet McCain wins FL by a bush
I just voted here in Florida, and we will carry Florida!!!!
Don't listen to any "pundits" predictions about who will win the election–Just vote! I don't care if they say Obama is winning by a million votes–Just vote!!! Make it a million and one.
VOTE!!!
Obama/Biden '08
You people bashing Florida are too stupid to even read the story and understand that the system is working – not broken. When the undervotes are recognized, the voter is warned and asked if he/she really meant to undervote. Why bother explaining things to stupid people that want to rely on idiotic steroetypes – you all probably bought into the Messiah's message and, like a herd of cows, pulled the lever for Obama.
Calm down folks. It is entirely plausible that most people either don't care about the amendment on the second page or can't make up their minds if they support it or not and just decide to skip it entirely. They are still voting for the political offices after all. And to the poster making the Obama supporter comment, grow up. No one is interested in hearing your ignorant statements.
well isn't this explained by the poll workers that both pages need to filled out
The problem with voters in Pam Beach County is mainly that they are older and in most cases are feeble minded and need to have their hands held to do even the simplest of tasks.
I just voted in florida with no problems
Barbara,
Health care is not an entitlement.
THANK YOU TOM (from St. Louis)! Your last 2 sentences hit the nail on the head!
I am proud i was the first vote cast for barack in my district here in nj.
SEEDS TO FINANCIAL MELTDOWN
"Community Reinvestment Act"... enacted by Jimmy Carter.
CRA expanded to force banks to make bad mortgage loans... Democrats called it "affordable housing"... enacted by Bill Clinton.
Bipartisan demands to rein in CRA, Fanny & Freddie... blocked by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.... Democrats.
DEMOCRATS RELY ON UNINFORMED VOTERS
My precint in Fl was well organized, moving smoothly and very crowded... I don't know what more you could want.
The poll workers were telling everyone in AL about the other side of the ballot, it must FLA's democratic poll workers not informing their fellows/fools about it. or they think that they'll catch it on their second visit to the polls to vote again......
To Rick,
Look at Obama's resume and then look at McCain's and Bush's. Let's talk about intelligence......
I voted in Florida today. The ballot is quite confusing and is in 3 different languages ALL ON EACH PAGE!!!! The second page is nonsense...that's why nobody is filling it in.
In 2008 it is hard for me to believe Florida can not get a competent group of individuals who can aid in making this process flow. Voters need to simply read the ballot, make their choices and move on. Voting is not rocket science. Florida has had since 2000 to get their voting act together, what is the issue eight years later? Perhaps they want to have problems that will deliver the outcome the America was dealt in 2000? Come Florida get it together, lets NOT have a repeat of 2000, Americans really lost faith in the process that year.
Not a surprise to hear this. The election is rigged in many of the states by making it difficult. Did you know that they don't even count all the votes? that over a million provisional ballots were thrown in the trash in 2004?
Not AGAIN! I don't understand all these voting problems w/Florida. Maybe Florida should invest in some state-of-the-art IT people OR is this another Republican roost? GO OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!
I think people need to be smarter and just figure out to do the voting process. It is not that hard everyone!!!!!!!
