Here's hoping a victory for Obama-Biden. Obama gets 4 votes from my household. A time for change is here. Goodbye to dirty republicans. McCain-Palin will ride off into the sunset and will not be heard again. Go Obama-Biden.

This is absurd. How long have they been predicting record turnout for now? And they have not provided an adequate number of machines for some districts? This is pure incompetence by election officials nationwide.

Hey Hey Hey...and away we go. Another year of cheating the polls. But just remember who you have voted for and what they promissed before they got in office, because they will not do it when in office. Will you have the balls to take them out of office if they don't do it right?

Wish I may, wish I might, have the wish I wish tonite !

/27. Super DNovember 4th, 2008 9:50 am ETGood…..lots of broken machines……we need to prevent the ignorant and uneducated from voting for the devil. I pray that there’s problems everywhere and that Obama votes will be lost.I don’t want dummies deciding who the next president is, they have no business voting!/

Do you know how ignorant and uneducated that YOU sound? If there are problems everywhere, then your precious McCain votes could be lost too. This is supposed to be a democracy and EVERYONE has the right to vote and have their voice be heard, even the ignorant, uneducated dummies such as yourself.

And what's this nonsense in Miami-seperate lines for whites and blacks? What in Hades is going on?

I voted in rural Mississippi and the only people using paper ballots are the ones that are not wanting to wait in line. I will say this... I voted for John McCain, BUT will support whichever one wins. If we dont support our president we will not make it as a country. BUT!!! I will have a serious problem if the next president tries to change our flag or our national anthem! Too many people gave their lives and are currently fighting for our flag! I will not stand by and watch it be taken away!

God Bless America!!

@ robert in MN,

Sorry that your polling place is having trouble with the machines, it's 2008 and we should be able to make a machine read the ballots. As for turning the shirt inside out, it is illegal in MN to wear campaign paraphenelia to vote. no one can campaign within x feet of the polls. If they do, and their candidate loses there can be lawsuits to reconsider the ballots.

Usually when my mother and I vote together, it's a process of under 5 minutes. We're in and out without any lines or fuss. Ah, but this Election Day in November, it was totally different in New York City.

Arrived at polling place at 6:15 am. Waited in line for a good 25 to 30 minutes to vote. I've been voting since the election of 1992, and have never seen anything like what I saw this morning at a public school, where I went to vote with my mother. There were around 50 people inside on line waiting. Now, that was the first surprise I had this morning. The second was when my mother and I were standing in that line of people waiting for our turn to go into the booth. And, I looked around and realized there were almost another 24 standing behind us.

When I saw my candidate's name, I took a deep breath and pulled the lever for him. Although I will not say whom I voted for, I knew my single vote had the ability to change history. And, that is the golden principle of democracy to me.

I don't see why we can't just go back to using paper ballots around the country. I used a paper ballot when I voted this morning in Gainesville, Florida and it was a breeze (and no wait at all!). Plus, there is a paper trail in the event that any sort of recount is needed.

It's interesting that we are capable of putting a man on the moon but some how we are not capable to fix our voting machines. Mayors, Governors responsible for voting areas currently experincing minor difficulties that could have been resolved prior to election day goes to show their ineffective leadership on this matter. Days, Weeks, Months ago we all understood the magnitude of election day to come. Shame on the local leadership for not planning! We are what we do and if we don't do that well then that says a lot about who we are. Bottom line GET R' DUN! Take care of the American People.

No excuses!

Most of you can't even spell Bush correctly, and you think the republicans are breaking the voting machines? I bet you also favor 9-11 conspiracy theories? Liberals.

Republic of Texas .... Right on. Maybe a republican gave him a ballot that was doctored? If you cross of McCain and Give him the option to vote for himself or "present", he probably couldn't decide. On one hand ... he should vote for himself, on the other, he's voted present 130 other times, why stop now?

I wish the media would not be allowed to announce anything until ALL polls were closed and votes counted. Already this am on TODAY Show they stated if BO gets Virginia - it's over.....Americans love a winner, I feel there will be a lot of Bandwagon voters - because they just did not take the time to research the candidates.....

This is rediculous. Why is it, that this is only happening in minority areas? You can only feel good about yourself winning fair and square. This proves that people will go above and beyond just to come out on top. Go Obama!

In 2000, when I was a senior in high school, it was the first election where Pres. Douche was running. It was complete chaos in Dayton, OH. All of the highly black populated areas where having problems with machines and the polls were sending people away advising that people's polling places had changed.
I am figuring that it will be the same way this year. I don't see why it would be any different. If anything they have more of a reason and it is sad. Knowing that the voting machines are so easy to hack into. They wonder why some don't want to cast a vote at all.
I am hoping that this year is different. I am hoping that the stuff messing us around and let everyone cast their vote. As well as let every vote count.
They have had 4 yrs to get these machines together. Of course, it would only be the "black" areas that are having the problems.

So the machines did not work and new memory sticks were brought into Fairfax, VA? Switching the memory stick is a simple way to rig the results and that leaves no trace, as demonstrated recently by thorough research at Princeton University. The flaws of electronic voting machines are well-known, and the US has done fine without them for hundreds of years. No surprise that this is happening in Virginia, where the margin of victory is likely to be close. Why this complacency with such a manipulable electoral system?

Here we go, you had to see this coming. Why is it that only the machines in the predominant Obama areas seem to "break down" . My question is, what happened to all those votes before the machine "broke down". I smell "trickery". Oh by the way, early polls show Obama has Texas in play! Now wouldn't that be something. Get out there fellow Texans and bring it home for Obama

It is so unfortunate that supporters are called cronies, but the stereo typing "cool aid drinking libs" this is so disrespectful. Maybe if all of you negative people would drink some cool aid you might not be so nasty. This is America grow up.
Children have more common since then some of the people I have heard during this elections.

Like all the changes candidates promising, they need to promise to change voting system so that a hard copy is always available in the event a recount or inspection necessary. With the all-computerized voting system, if I vote for some one and machine recognizes and records it to some one else (it's very possible) no way to know if my vote went to the account of the person I voted for. It is very hard to manipulate paper ballot.

It's hard to believe that so many Americans can be so weak minded as to believe that obama would be a wise choice based on his level of experience, voting record, and choices in acquaintances. I sincerely hope that there are enough Americans with common sense enough to vote for McCain, our only real choice this election.

We as Americans claim that we are the "best in the world", but we seem to have problems every year with voting. Why can't we ge this right. I almost think we the people have not been in charge for many years and "the man" is running things. I guess that is still the case. I will still go and vote, but I'm sure DIEBOLD machines will change my vote. Bastards!!!!!!!

This definitely seems to be a recurring issue that always works out for the Republicans. We know the elections are coming 4 years in advance, there has to be a better, more secure system of voting which will not allow any votes to be miscalculated, lost, stolen, you name it. It's like that movie with Robin Williams.

Hopefully, if there's a tie this year or another problem, Obama will not forfeit as easily as Kerry did in the last race. If you've come all this way, why throw it all away because you don't want to put the American people through it? If Kerry did somehow have enough votes for the last election, he could've saved us a lot of trouble that we've had over the last four years.

I'm voting for Obama, but Regardless of what happens, I can't wait until January 20th because it can't possibly become any worse than these last 8 years. It's probably going to take another 8 years to undo all of the harm that Bush has done to this country.

Super D to say no one should b allowed to vote if they vote for Obama is against what this country stands for Americans have a right to vote for whomever they wish .

Your calling Obama evil and praying that all the voting machines breakdown is a joke .

All the voting machines better work and give an accurate talley of who voted for who.

I just voted for Obama with only 4 people in front of me and we use the new paper ballot machines very easy and fast.

All the states should use paper ballots .

Obama will be elected Tonight thank God for that .

If I had to make a bet God will be very pleased that Obama is President

I believe he is here now for a reason in our history calling divine timing.

Obama is loved by people all over the world and their is a reason for this .

If you have not voted yet go and Vote for Obama because yes You Can

Let's hope those replacement memory cards don't have "REPUBLICAN" imprinted on them :-)

After 2000 and 2004, I don't trust the RNC or the way any election disputes tend to conveniently fall their way, defying all predictions, research, and the law of odds.

Don't let the dummies vote? It baffles me that the blue collars in this state actually think the Republicans are conservative still. Look at the last four years of spending, look at the lies, look at the corruption. This is conservative? Obama IS THE CONSERVATIVE Joe! Your party does not behave the way you believe it does. Pull your head out of the rhetoric and read a newspaper. Slightly higher taxes aren't going to matter much if you don't have a job to pay them with.

Look, I'm in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, and I'm truly scared for you guys if Obama doesn't win. Stuff like this is what makes me wonder how you guys can be so far ahead of 99% of the world and yet just plain backwards in other areas. Your leaders know of these problems and do nothing to fix it. I'll never understand it. Paper ballots hold some uncertainty, too. All it takes is one partisan voting worker to drop them off in the improper place. I hate to sound all Chicken-Little-the-sky-is-falling, but this election matters so much that it has to be done properly, and not be a repeat of 2000.

BTW, when international people favor a certain person in power over the other by 3:1, that should definitely be taken into account when casting your vote.
