And over at Foxnews, they're saying Sarah has been unfairly scapegoated haha... Hell, if McCain had booted her from the ticket when she started to go off-script on the campaign trail, he might have had a chance of closing the gap with Obama a bit. They may be pouring love all over the "Barracuda" in Wasilla, but I think anyone with an ounce of political realism can see that Palin was the biggest internal factor in sinking the GOP-ship. Despite the economy, with a modestly intelligent VP choice, we might have been looking at close totals and recounts in select states like in 2000 and 2004. So, thanks Sarah! For helping keep this race a clear, decisive split, too big for the GOP to manipulate and cheat its way through.

In Canada, we are broadcast CNN along with all the other newsfeeds. We know as much (if not more) about the US, this election, its candidates, and your policies, than American citizens. We expect a VP candidate to at least know who our Prime Minister is. During the radio prank by Marc-Antoinne Audette, a comedian in Canada, he referenced PM of Canada Stef Cars. Sarah acknowledged the US enjoys very much working with him. Our PM is Stephen Harper. Sarah can`t blame the media for her lack of knowledge.

The Dow dropping (and continuing to volatile) isn't an indication of Obama's ability to "manage the economy"; he hasn't even taken office yet! The Dow's volatility can be attributed to consumer sales reports, unemployment numbers, etc. And the fact that so many investors are wiennies (don't invest in stocks if you can't handle their up/down nature or can't afford to invest long term).

I have read these comments for a while and I see that most naysayers of Obama are still a little salty from his victory. I also know what every intelligent american knew about Sara Palin; thus the reason for the interview questions. I also know that because naysayers are not very intelligent and because they are a bit bigoted, racist and very one sided it's not worth reacting to their comments. I am just estatic about an Obama/Biden Presidency. America we are now in capable and steady hands. don't worry be happy.

at least now I know what was going on behind her facial expressions that night. She didn't look disappointed over the loss so much as she looked like a spoiled BRAT of a child whose parent had just scolded her. Sarah knew way in advance that there was a chance McCain was going to select her as his runnin' mate and she had plenty of time to study foreign policy and everything else she needed to study to be able to live up to McCain's confidence in her. At any rate anyone who can't handle an interview with Katie Couric of ALL people, needs to grow a set or go back home!!!

By the way, I will support and respect our new president, just like I've supported and respected each president whose been in office during my lifetime. I do so because I love our country and I respect the office of the President; regardless whether or not I agree with his politics. It makes me wonder what would happen if every American would do that. To everyone who wants people to stop 'picking on Palin', why can't you control yourselves from saying something snarky about the President-elect, or about the 'liberal media' in the same posts? No, she didn't ask for the job. She didn't turn it down, either! Even though she had no idea what the Vice-President does, she didn't say, 'can you define the job for me?' before accepting. This is not all pure 'scapegoating'. It's honest disbelief, that someone could be so clueless.... about more or less everything. I don't blame Sarah Palin for being provincial... the only thing is most hicks KNOW they are hicks. I think the pulling her out of a top-hat, right after the Obama speech and the DNC, which was a HUGE enthusiam-generator, was an amazingly effective PR stunt. It took the focus off the DNC, and made everyone start talking about her! Not only was that pretty manipulative and cynical, on the part of the McCain campaign -- for which HE is responsible -- but it seems very unfair to HER. She wasn't up to the task, but she did serve the purpose of hauling attention onto his basically flat campagn. IMHO, McCain's ambition got the better of his nature, during this campaign. It was his last chance, to achieve something he's wanted so badly, for so long, and he's always been an ambitious man. When he was not campaigning, or in a pressure situation, like a debate, the John McCain I used to like and respect showed through. Lots of sense of humour, and basically very decent, but committed to his beliefs, and yes, he bites. He just wasn't ok... wasn't himself, the longer the campaign went on, and especially because of the enthusiasm gap. I wish him peace... but I don't know if he'll find it. He's always been a restless, peripatetic, ambitious man, and now he's a thwarted one. That's gotta suck. I honestly think he might have been an ok President, but once he picked Palin for VP, he chained himself to the far-right, where he was uneasy. Nobody can govern from a position that is unnatural for him. ROFLOL to the person who said 'They DO eat their own'.
