Obama and Bush are set to meet in the White House.

(CNN) – President-elect Barack Obama and President Bush are set to meet in the White House on Monday, a get-together both men say they are looking forward to.

“Michelle and I look forward to meeting with President Bush and the First Lady on Monday to begin the process of a smooth, effective transition," Obama said in a statement. "I thank him for reaching out in the spirit of bipartisanship that will be required to meet the many challenges we face as a nation."

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said the two men will sit down in the Oval Office.

"The President and Mrs. Bush look forward to welcoming President-elect and Mrs. Obama to the White House on Monday afternoon. The Bushes will greet the Obamas, and then the President will visit with the President-elect in the Oval Office," she said. "Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Obama will meet in and tour the Private Residence. We understand that the Obama children will not be accompanying them on this visit, but we very much look forward to meeting them."

It will be a great day when we see President Barack Obama sitting behind the desk in the oval office.
Until then, let's hope Bush is not allowed to make any decisions
concerning the future of our country!!

I did not vote for Obama . But I cannot wait until Bush is gone. The sooner the better. Please! He can do more damage in a few months there. He should go clear brush at the ranch the next few months.

    Welcome to CubAmerica:

You're more than welcome to leave the US for the next 4 years if you cannot live up to being an American simply because Barack Obama would be YOUR president!! There are plenty of countries in the world....

  6. Gloating Gutless Girly Liberals

Bush shouldn't give Obama any pointers. After all, the lib-tards (including those posting on this page) didn't seem to care that he has ZERO qualifications and experience to be president so screw it. Let him start from scratch and see how well he does. Republicans are TOO NICE.

Welcome to CubAmerica: Best leaders? So I guess you're including leaders like George W. Bush and George H. W. Bush? Two Presidents who have singly steered our country's economy into recessions. I guess they deserve to live in the White House.

Your comment is offensive, racist and ignorant. I'm surprised at CNN for not censoring your remark.

Of course President-elect Obama will live in the White House – possibly for 8 wonderful years.

AMERO coin? Sheikh Obama? America turning into Cuba?

You right wingers have all lost your minds along with the election...

Do you all really think that the sun will turn black as sackcloth on Jan 20?
    I mean, come on...

And to my liberal progressive friends: Obama's just a man. Just one man. And he can't do this alone. So cut the gloating, and if you think we're out of the woods, then just wait...

I've got high hopes but I do know that it will take all of us some work. I believe that we also need a Secretary of Main Street in his cabinet. Someone who is not a political insider or from the Fortune 500 crowd.

Thanks President Bush for helping to make this a smooth transition.

    Go President Elect Obama !!!!

Ahhh, the smell of ignorance. OK, for all you bigoted Obama-haters out there, just give him a chance lead. He will be *your* president, whether you like it or not. If after a year or so he's anywhere near the f-up that W has been, then you have some ground to stand on – but in the meantime, stop the ignorance and let him lead.

I bet that President Bush wishes President elect Obama would stay when he and the new First Lady visit. That way President elect Obama can start work early.

I know I would not object to Obama starting early. LOL In fact, I suspect that president Bush might have voted for President elect Obama.

To Welcome to CubAmerica), it's a shame that people like you still live in this country. If you don't like PRESIDENT OBAMA, you'll get over it, b/c all those presidents before him were not that all great, just look at the idiot that's in the White House now, Bush. That idiot has run this country into the ground and you see nothing wrong with that. He lied about the invasion of Iraq, thousands are dead, trillion dollar spend, mortgage collapse, banks collapse, jobs are gone and his rating is 23%, so tell me, you must be an RETHUG, NEO-CON Conservative who thinks there's nothing wrong

@Jody Monroe who posted the following:

"Will they discuss our failing economy? Has anyone heard that our dollar is going to "bust" and will be replaced with the new coin, the AMERO coin?"

Jody, there's a great website called snopes.com. Whenever you receive some much-forwarded email with a story like this, visit the Snopes website and see if it's fact or fiction.

If you search "amero dollar" on Snopes, you will find the email you've received. It's a false rumor.

Use your delete key often and wisely.

Once Obama gets in I do not want to hear any more speeches or hear "how change is coming". Just do it.

Why would this administration be any different? It must have been very difficult for President Bush to realize his low approval rating: As it must be painful for Mr. Bush to acknowledge a change of power to the Democrats primarily because of him. I have no doubt that these two men and their spouses will conduct our business in the way we expect them to.

As always the conservatives point fingers else where to hide their failures. Unity and Change is here. God Bless President Elect Obama and the United States of America. .

What is disgusting is your 20th century bigotry. Democracy is what makes this a wonderful place to live.

Allow me to re-use an old conservative line:

If the thought of an Obama presidency bothers you, why don't you just move to another country?
