If he chooses to donate to a worthy cause, then so be it!
If he chooses to fund democratic coffers, oh well... so be it.

Sarah Palin will be trying to foist herself and her brood on us again in 2012,and I think she'll be as divisive and dishonest as ever, so we'll need a cushion for Barack . The stimulus money that we received this year will not be taxed! It's not counted as income. Didn't you read the notice when it was sent to you or did you get your information from someone else?
No wonder most don't even have a clue as to what goes on in this country. Do a little research for yourself and get the facts. You just might surprise yourself.

As a strong Obama supporter with a low income, I am no more supportive of another stimulus package than I was of the first. Sure, I got a few hundred dollars, and sure, it added to my bank account. Didn't do much for the economy, however, because I didn't spend it.

Borrowing more money to give people to spend on new TV sets or other unnecessary expenditures is not a wise use of the taxes I paid or will pay in the future. Nor is borrowing from China or anyone else the way to strengthen this country's economy.

We need to reduce debt, find better ways to help.

How about they cut spending on programs that don't work instead of coming up with more spending from money they don't have? We are really in for a mess if the gov't is going to keep bailing all the people out who have made bad decisions and been irresponsible. Thank you Democrats for the mess you created in the first place. The Republicans did nothing to fix it under Bush when they had the chance, and now Obama will be hard pressed to do anything about it. Uncontrolled spending will take this country down and new taxes are not the answer. Obama is clueless on how to handle the economy and his "spread the wealth" ideas will only make things worse.

Please note that this information is not entirely accurate. Any stimulus money received earlier this year is neither taxable, nor does it reduce the amount you will receive on your 2007 or 2008 tax returns - this from the IRS website. So, the previous stimulus package will not affect how much anyone gets back when they file their 2008 taxes.

When will this insanity stop? We don't need economic stimulus packages. We had one in the spring, it accomplished nothing. Another one will also accomplish nothing. The only stimulus needed is to encourage job creation, and further taxing corporations isn't going to result in more jobs. As the increase in minimum wage was looming, many companies prepared by laying off employees starting earlier this year. As it became clear over last month or two that Obama would be president, many companies began preparing by laying off employees. We don't need bailouts of major corporations. That started with Carter's bailout of Chrysler in 1979. Chrysler's been dying a slow death, with government pulling them back from their last breaths too often since then, but has done nothing themselves to turn their business around. If these corporations were worth saving, someone like a Buffet or Soros would be grabbing them up. The fact the private sector is not foaming at the mouth over getting a fantastic deal should tell you that the private sector isn't as stupid as the government.

Mother for Obama: We will not have to "pay back" the first stimulus check. That was a rebate of previous taxes, not a loan on future taxes. Your 2008 tax bill/refund will be the same it would have been if the stimulus never happened.

I dont like this stimulus plan thing... I started doing our taxes to see where we will stand. Usually we get a refund. We still get a refund but I was reminded of something. We have to pay back the $2100 we got a few months ago!!! Which lowers our refund. The economy has gotten worse... more have lost jobs... many will owe taxes and the pay back on the first one is due and they will either owe more or get less of a refund.

So the Next Stimulus isnt really going to give us a boost, its going to keep us right were we are now. Those that normally will owe taxes will keep it to help pay for the extra they will owe from the first stimulus. It really defeats the point.

My best idea would be to delay the first stimulus for another year, and give another for two years delay. So pay off the first one in 2010 and the second in 2011

Otherwise I dont see the purpose. Many wont put the money into the economy.
