Vice President-elect Biden looks on as the nation's next president gives his first press conference since winning the White House.

(CNN) - Barack Obama would not give a timetable for when he plans to announce his cabinet appointments, but said he would make decisions with "deliberate haste."

"There is no doubt that people want to know who is going to make up our team," he said "I want to move with all deliberate haste, but I want to emphasize deliberate as well as haste."

"It's important to get it right and not be so rushed that you make it rushed," he also said.

I am glad to see that he is taking his time, if he were rushing then people would have something to say about that.

McCain and Palin need to GET OUT IN PUBLIC and tell their RACIST SUPPORTERS they need to calm down.

The followers shouting, 'hang him', 'no Husseign', 'kill him' ARE STILL OUT HERE saying they want to kill the President Elect.

John McCain and ESPECIALLY Sarah Palin need to GET OUT HERE and STOP THE RACIST FRENZY THEY STARTED.

    NOW

No,I don't think he was talking about Robert Reich. I think he was talking about Rahm Emanuel, the shortest one of the whole group.

I thought he handled all the questions, even the ones the reporters were trying to get him to comment on that he was unable to, due to either confidentiality or things yet to come/appointments to be made, with great finesse and a very "presidential" air about him.

Oh yeah, 3 days should have been enough time??? Normally, president elects don't have their chief of staff chosen until much later. He's already ahead of schedule.

every move from cabinet appointments to chosing the white house china, will be scrutinized beyond belief...he should therefore make only deliberate and well thought out decisions on an issue as important as picking his cabinet members...as for the china, I've always been partial to simple white white platinum edging.

He is the President-Elect. YOUR President.

You clowns gave Dubya 8 years (some tried to give him another 4), and YOU CAN'T GIVE Obama 3 DAYS!!!!

Grow up losers, your xenophobic, hate-filled, ignorant America is dead. Long live the intelligent, reformed, prosperous America!!!

    Dear It begins,

Get a life! If you have not figured it out, the election is over. Just like I did twice, I got behind a president, Bush, whom I did not vote for, because America is more than just you and me, its all of us...

So if you want America to work again for all Americans, than lets offer positive encouragement. Keep your cynism to yourself.

Still hating after 3 days using words such as cronies. Obama is a very intelligent and patience man and will not be rush by anybody. Not even the people that didn't vote for him and would love to see him fall on his face. Take your time Mr. President and pick the right choices. So that your cabinet will stay with you and not start resigning one by one.

Thank God he's going to do it based on what is good for America, not what is good for the drooling news media.

I would have preferred Daschele for the CS position. I think Rahm Emanuel is too closely linked to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee to be an honest broker. What will come first for this man, Israel or the US?

Is Obama trying to be more catholic than the pope?

look for the making of a great leader in obama, and biden a great vp we have not seen anything yet"

it has not even been 72 hours since he was appointed president- ELECT...there is still a president in the office, you remember, that one guy, President Bush. quit being to critical. all of you. it takes time, it may even take 4 years, but we should be willing to wait because it will be worth it. if not, then we vote a new person.
