Palin calls attacks 'cruel' and 'cowardly'

Sources close to John McCain say Sarah Palin was denied a chance to speak at McCain's concession address.

Sources close to John McCain say Sarah Palin was denied a chance to speak at McCain's concession address.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called former aides of Sen. John McCain "jerks" for circulating unflattering stories about her since the Republican ticket lost its bid for the White House Tuesday.

The stories, which have been attributed to unnamed sources within the McCain campaign, include claims that Palin did not know Africa was a continent instead of a country, or which countries are part of the North American Free Trade Agreement, despite touting her familiarity with neighboring Canada.

Speaking with CNN's Gary Tuchman after returning to Alaska, Palin speculated those stories may have originated with campaign staffers who helped her prepare for her debate with Democratic Vice President-elect Joe Biden.

The treatment of Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton during this campain should outrage everyone. Clinton in my opinion should have had the nomination, putting that aside, the treatment of Clinton by her own party was deplorable. Sarah Palin has also been chastised by the Democrats and Republicans. These two woman deserve the respect from this country that they deserve... As a woman , I am saddened that Race was the topic of discussion during this campaign, and once again Womans treatment was pushed to the back burner. Like it didnt matter. This election has pushed the womans movement back 20 years... The young woman of this nation, You know who you are, Your the ones who voted for Obama and didnt bother to vote or research any of the amendments or candidates on the ballot, should maybe talk to a middle aged woman, maybe your mom. It took us a long time to get where we are in this country, you havent experienced our pain or suffering as woman. Thats good , in a way. The country should be demanding that Woman be treated with respect. Sara Palin and Hilary Clinton are feared in this country by both parties. The Good old boys are still calling the shots. Lets stop them!

There are about 20 major US cities with a population bigger than all of Alaska. Good ole Wasilla has just 6200 people according to the Census Bureau. How does this qualify you to be second in cammand of the last super power on the planet?

If Mrs. Palin does want to run in 2012 (heaven forbid) she needs to see much more of the world than just looking at Russia out her "back wndow".

No offense, but America and the rest of the world is way more complicated than running a state of less than 675 000 people.

I voted for Obama and I was never a fan of Palin, much less of McCain. As much as I believe she lacked basic knowledge for VP position, she undoubtedly inspired and re-energized the GOP base.

However, I do believe the republican strategists enclosed both McCain and Palin in this bubble where information about Obama was selectively leaked to them. It was almost surreal to watch them on the attack; it was as if they were completely detached from reality, reason, or rationality. Towards the end we could not even recognize the McCain we once knew.

What Palin did not realize, until she turned rogue and post-election day, was that she was playing with actual fire...and she did not feel its heat until it was turned on her by the very people who supplied it. In a moment of epiphany (soon hopefully) she will relate to Obama and see herself in his shoes....responding to smears, unsupported rumors, and anonymous leaks about her character.

How fast do you think that oil pipeline from Alaska will be built now? What about drilling? Think Alaska will be quite so eager to participate in feeding the lower 48, now that they see how their women and children are treated?
Perhaps she will borrow a line from another famous politician, "Let them freeze in the dark."

I find it interesting that there are more men defending her than women. I also am glad that she is gone.

If she likes, Gov Palin can return in 2012 or 2016 to compete with other Republican candidates for president. She can dodge debate questions and the "got you" media probes, and see how far she would go.
My guess is that she is so intellectually deficient that I do not expect her to last through the first 3 months of the primaries.

Even if these horrifying allegations are not true, you still proved you are incompetent. There was no "country first" in your choice to accept the nomination. You've brought this onto yourself.
So please, just stay away, forever.

Wahhh. Her treatment is so unfair. Kind of like "Obama is paling around with terrorists". But honestly, I do feel sorry for her. For anyone to even suggest such a bizarre, paranoid statement, they must suffer from some sort of mental deficiency. As the statement goes, do unto others as you would have them do to you.

You think that was unfair Barracuda Barbie? What do you call the hate and lies you spewed from your vile mouth. What goes around comes around. You were used and dished like an old dish rag. Get over it. McCain was an honorable man and he let his people turn his campaign negative and that includes you so take your bitter medicine and stay up there in the frozen tundra. You can come back after you learn to treat people with dignity and respect.

It's politics as usual... I wouldn't blame her if she said to h*ll with these morons and went back to Alaska for good. Then again, that would make most of the CNN Ticker posters happy (temporarily).

Just some friendly advice... save some of your ammo. You might need it.

Palin's rhetoric brought out the racist nature of some of her supporters. All you have to do is go on you tube and listen to the rhetoric that was being said by these people. What does it say about you as a person when you know that you are stroking the fires of racist speople for the sake of getting them to vote for you? How is this different from one selling his or her soul to the devil for the gaining of power? Does the end justify the means if it brings out racial views from those ignorant enough to judge people by virtue of the color of their skin? Palin knew what she was doing, as did the rest of the GOP leadership. The fact that it didnt work speak volumes of how far we have come as a country in regards to race.

The attacks ARE cowardly because the sources are unnamed. But the real story here is Governor Sarah Palin is NOT qualified on an intellectual level to be V.P. and heaven forbid if she would have (by some quirk of fate) become the President !!!
The FACT that Senator McCain selected her shows he DID NOT vet her properly and HE is responsible for ALL of this!! This WAS NOT a Country First decision on his part. It was more like a ROLL of the DICE (his favorite gambling game).
We NEED very intelligent , well rounded, individuals running our government. Frankly, objectively, at this time she does not qualify!!

"It's mean-spirited. It's immature. It's unprofessional and those guys are jerks if they came away with it, taking things out of context, and then tried to spread something on national news."

Hmm, how's it feel Sarah? I mean, isn't that what you had done with Obama throughout your campaign? Just go back to Alaska, apparently they like you there, and good riddance. On second thought, please continue the speculation about wheter or not you'll run in 2012, that'll gaurantee the Democrats hold the Presidency for years to come if the Repubs want to use you as their poster child.
