If President Bush is rated as these polls indicate then any one from the opposition party could have won this 2008 election. Maybe even Keith Obermann The accountabity now shifts to
our Congress. If they do not support the new president then in two years vote them out because their poll ratings have been consisently lower than the President.

Bush alone is not responsible for the deregulation, the incompetience, the cut taxes and increased spending (borrow and spend), failure to enforce the regulations in place and just plain greed from which this great nation may never recover. The idiots that voted for him must also be held accountable including the ones here tonight that would continue his policies. Are those people mean, evil people or just plain stupid?

CAN WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? It's time for the bickering to stop! Whether you voted for Barack or not, this is OUR country. We are to uphold whomever is elected to office. We may not agree with Barack on everything, however let's be supportive. As he stated all along: "This is The UNITED States of America"! There is too much division in this country! We dont have to stay in Iraq for war because we are at war with one another! We need to realize that Obama's whole campaign was about change, but we must look a little deeper at the word change. We all must make an effort to change some things (our view of some things, attitude, spending, etc) so that our nation may become united once again. There is too much hatred in this country over nothing. I feel that Obama will do a great job, keeping in mind that he is human just like you and I. Let's not talk down about our president -elect so people from other countries can see how divided we are. Let's really be an example for those countries that look up to us. Let's all be optimistic and hopeful. It takes too much energy to be negative.

Peace, Blessings, and Love!

Even if Obama lasts 8 years (highly unlikely), Sarah will only be 52 and ready to take over. If Obama is out in 4, Sarah will only be 46.

And you know what, she's so much more accomplished than her critics---how many of you out there have been a Mayor, Governor with the highest approval rating in the U.S., Member Alaskan Energy and Conservation Board, Candidate for VP---all by the age of 44 and all while raising 5 kids? Guess I better not wait for an answer---I'll be old and gray.

President-elect Obama has done more for this country and making the American people and the world optimistic in the last few days since he became Pres-elect, than President Bush has done in the past 8 years. I cannot wait for Obama to become President. I don't expect things to change overnight (as the GOP will be pressuring him) but I know he will make some good changes and get us back on track.

Who are the ones that gave Bush a positive approval rating? They must be some of the backward rednecks down South who think anything but a bi-racial man in office is good. Thank God the rest of the country voted for the better candidate last Tuesday.

I am fully behind President Obama - he will be a great preident.
And to all the naysayers I say, "what can YOU do better?"
These talking head republican spokespersons are making fools of themselves yet again..and Fox News is leading the pack.

I don't understand all these bloggers who say the public is already scared of Obama. His approval rating for a President Elect is higher than at any other time of transition. To me, that means that the public IS NOT scared of Obama, just those die hard, far right wing neocons who constantly spew hatred and racism and call themselves christians.

There is no doubt that Barack Obama is inheriting one hell of a mess after 8 years of Bush/ Cheney; and it will probably take the better part of the next 4 years to get the U.S. back to where it was under Clinton. If the American public stays with him in the major battles/showdowns with the G.O.P.; he just might transform the U.S. into the kinder/gentler nation everyone dreams of. The simple fact of the matter is lobbyists and other entrenched powers in Washington are going to fight reform and change every step of the way. If Congress sees the public standing by their President;anything is possible. If not, it will be VERY difficult for ANY one person to fight such bureaucracy. The fight is not over; it has just entered a new phase!

You want to blame someone? All you need is a mirror and your continuing belief in the 2 party system. We need change. Not Obama change, real change. The polititian that tells you that you there is no money left, that you have to cut back, sacrifice and live within your means is the one you should trust.
BTW your house is worth only what someone else will pay for it.

Wow...there sure are a lot of bitter Republicans out there!

Still spreading the lies too I see.

What a shame. Keep spitting venom while the rest of the country tries to work together to get this great country back on track after 8 years of negligence, stupidity, failed economic policies and mismanagement.

Remember we had the largest surplus ever before Bush. We now have the largest deficit. This is not a coincidence. You cannot blame Carter and Clinton for Bush's neocon mistakes.

Obama is the real deal. He is a true leader. A man for the times. Intelligent. Thoughtful. Patient. Well read. Well spoken. He appreciates alternate perspectives. What a refreshing change.

I know Hannity and Limbaugh tell you to keep hating, but perhaps you should try to make things better instead of perpetuating the negativity.

The never-say-die GOP would rather our country fail so that they can blame a Democrat, than have propserity under Obama.

I'm afraid Obama wants to be a people-pleaser when someone needs to step up to the plate and tell the American people exactly what we need to do in order to become financially independant. I don't see how Obama is going to begin the process of getting us out of debt when he's wanting to give the American people money. Too many people are already taking advantage of government money. We need a tough President to force cut-backs, so only the people who are sick and absolutely need the money, get charitable "aid"- not a lifestyle.

Times are tough and it will take some firm resolve and a steady hand from the administration to turn things around both domestically and abroad.

Obama has both the intellect and the staff to accomplish a turn around but it will take time and people have to be both patient and supportive. Hopefully the hate and fear mongers like Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Rielly will have enough intelligence to act grown up in America's time of need. But I wouldn't bet the farm on the latter.

76% disapprove of Bush, how predictable. As usual most of 1200+ adults wer probably Democrats, can' t believe CNN anymore. Their polls were sooooooooo wrong during election. Just check the Pew research media center. Bush bashing never let up from the day he took office. Now, get ready for a Hussein OBAMA bashing. ......bring it on.

Dave in Atlanta, did you say honest when talking about Obama, do the words public financing mean anything to you, you know the pledge he took to take public financing, and the pledge he broke. Dave do you remember when he was running in the primary, and he didn't support FISA, but as soon as he got the nomination, he stabbed his supporters in the back and voted for it. No true Democrat supports spying on his fellow citizens. Please don't rewrite history!

I can't read too many of these comments without feeling a little sick. There are so many sick, sick people, on both sides. May the republican and democratic parties be destroyed and replaced by parties that represent the American people. Most you people are clearly borderline insane.

Why do Obama supporters feel the need to state their race when talking about themselves. It's very disturbing and very racists. Many people supported Obama, we don't need to know that you are white, black or green. Please stop it!

The public's morale is low because we've had a very inexperienced leader for eight years. Bush is also very selfish. He promoted himself as a uniter, but was in fact a divider. He bragged four years ago that he had a mandate, but he didnt'. He is clearly the WORST PRESIDENT we've ever had. He will never live that down, he's branded and so is the Republican Party.

Now they're regrouping to come up with more lies because the last ones didn't work.

Americans were smarter on November 4th and we'll be even smarter in four years. We will not be fooled or moved.

Obama/Biden-- Congratulations

Well, he certainly failed to do a good job then, now didn't he?

If that's how incompetent Bush is: taking something that is going great (Clinton) and fixing it by making it the worse conditions since the great depression (horrid economy) AND WWII (Two new wars, and illegal at that) combined...then his newly crowned "Worse President Ever" title is well deserved.

America is in good hands. I am optimistic about the future, as are all of the millions who changed our country on November 4, by standing up and saying No More to the status quo. Thank God for Barack Obama. Things are not going well...but with hard work by each one of us they soon will be.

So many of you sound so stupid and bitter. I will stand tall and tell you I told you so when things get better. For a long time this country has been slipping and so many of us had lost hope. Now we have hope back. Most of us know it won't be easy but we will turn this country around. Why don't you give him a chance? Or are you just going to sit back and gripe about it? I have hope and until it is taken away I will believe. Just like some many others will. Peace.....................

The truth is - all Americans are responsible for the current economic situation. We're greedy and care about noone but ourselves. It's always been "give me more, give me more, I'll pay for it later!!" It was bound to catch up sooner or later!!

Stop crying about paying higher taxes - just maybe, the extra tax $$ will go to help feed a hungry child or provide them healthcare that alot of us take for granted!! Think about someone other than yourself for once!!

  Obama rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's been President-elect for less than a week. How can anyone approve or disapprove of the job he's done? What has he done? He's had a few meetings, some photo ops and a tour of the White House. Wow, I'm sure glad we elected him, because that's way different than every other President-elect.

No wonder there is pessimism out there.

Obama has just removed all of his campaign promises on 25 agenda items from his website. All his promises are now reduced to a few very general and vague platitudes. He wants us to forget everything he promised. He smooth talked his way to victory and now he has brought back most of the same old tired political hacks. Change, my foot. I can not believe we elected this smooth talker over the Straight Talker. He lifted the expectations of so many millions of naive voters to win and now he has to quietly lower them to the subfloor. No doubt he'll apply some more smooth talk and get away with it.

I pity those who make fun by calling Obama the Mesiah. It shows lack of biblical insight. On another note, Obama camp is very aware of this pessimistic view that is out there and unlike Bush, Obama is already showing that his administration will be more visable and transparent to the American people.

You don't have to love him or even like him but you have to give him credit for that.

That's the exact reason we choose Obama. He is young, energetic, honest, open-minded, and intelligent. We all know he inherits 10+ trillions of debt (remember half of that is contributed by another person in this picture), financial crisis and ecnonmy mess, two wars and ruined American reputation. But we know he will take us through the crisis.

The pessimism and position that America is off track is a direct reflection of the Obama 1 Term Presidency that is about to take place.
