Palin not ruling out 2012 bid

Palin is considering a presidential bid over her own.
Palin is considering a presidential bid over her own.

(CNN) - As Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads to Florida to attend the Republican Governors Association annual conference in Miami, she says she'd consider a run for the White House in 2012 or beyond.

Less than one week after the victory by Barack Obama and Joe Biden over the GOP ticket in the presidential election, John McCain's running mate is speaking out about her political future in national politics.

"Don't let me miss the open door. Show me where the open door is and even if it's cracked up a little bit, maybe I'll just plow right on through that and maybe prematurely plow through it, but don't let me miss an open door. And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door," Palin said in an interview with Fox News Monday.

Palin will be with her fellow Republican governors on Wednesday and Thursday as they meet in Miami. In the crowd will be other possible contenders for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Palin also sits down Wednesday for a one on one interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Tune into the Situation Room, starting at 4 pm ET Wednesday to see Wolf's candid conversation with Palin.

Palin may not be ruling out a 2012 bid, but the GOP and the American people are.

You had your shot, Sarah. You made yourself the laughing stock of your party. You can't handle Alaskan politics without abusing your power, what makes you think you can handle the big chair?

WOW!! I really hope she runs in 2012. That would be a debate to watch... failin Palin and Barack Obama. hehehe, she would not be able to comprehend 90% of his explanations. Maybe she should go back and get a real degree first or something.

She doesn't need to rule it out. I'm pretty sure the GOP will do it for her. She's too much of an alienating force to be an effective contender.

Sarah Palin will be the ultimate demise of the GOP if she continues to pursue a national office. She is NOT a role model for women (or anyone), she breeds ignorance (while fostering her own), and represents so many things that are backwards in our country. She needs to go back to Alaska and STAY there. Not just for 4 years. For good. If the Republicans ever want the White House back again, Sarah Palin is the absolute wrong direction to take and I hope that the Repubs are smart enough to figure that out and keep her far away. John McCain sealed his fate when he chose her. Stupid move. Let's make sure the stupid Sarah Palin move isn't taken again. Can't wait to see all the great things President Obama does.

Please don't run and put your family and the rest of the country thru this again. Stay home and help govern your kids and Alaska.

These rambling interviews Palin has done after the election prove beyond any shadow of a doubt how woefully unprepared she is to be president.

But she doesn't know how much she doesn't know. That's what's scary.

People say she has more executive experience than McCain and Obama, but there is an intangible mixture of wisdom, foresight, intelligence, cosmopolitan perspective, education, and deliberation that make Obama ready for the White House and Palin not.

STOP reporting about this woman! Please let her fade away...we have a new president who needs our support. And by the way...i have not heard her congratulate our new president ONCE! She needs to fade away and you all will feel like fools for reporting so much about her. I hope she becomes the new face of the R party...that would serve them right. She needs to get back to her day job and shut up for awhile. Enough already. Get her off the stage.

Not surprised at all and I believe that she will take Stephen's Senate seat even though she said she wants to go back to Alaska.

Please dear god let her run in 2012 – it will guarantee another 4 years for Obama! When will the Republicans learn that the era of letting idiots run the country IS OVER.

Of course, my hopes will be dashed, because there is no way Republican heavyweights let a clueless barbie doll like Palin get the nomination. Oh well.

Somebody needs to sit her down and have a little discussion about the real life world of politics and political leadership. Yes, the eight years of the Bush administration hurt the Republican ticket, but she sure didn't help it. She was thrust into a situation for which she was unprepared and unqualified and she lacked the good judgement to say NO when asked to join the ticket.

Palin running against Obama in 2012? That I'd love to see! She's suffering from severe delusions of grandeur...almost worse than George W! Sarah, please go back to Alaska and take care of your family. You've already reached the pinnacle of your political career.

Please, please... No.. Sarah Palin is not smart, is not educated to the level expected to hold the top position in our nation and leads by a book only 1/4 of the population believes in at her level.

Sarah would destroy this country in the course of her term.

If she's the best the Republican party has to offer they are going to be the minority party for a very long time. People are sick of the extreme right's divisive political nonsense.

Yeah, good luck with that Sarah.

You will lose. You can't draw independents, undecideds or Democrats, so you can't win.

Drop the evangelicism and then, you *might* have a chance. Until then, your chances are about as good as pigs taking flight.
