I do not think it is a good idea for Clinton to be Secretary of State. I think she should be in Health Care or the Supreme Court. But I would rather see Bill Richardson as Sect. of State. World leaders love him.

YOU GUYS ARE ALL MAD!!! Arabs were right when I heard someone said: "No matter who gets elected, the US foreign policy will stay the same". It is an ignorant, arrogant, selfish, aggressive, not good for any one policy, except maybe for Israel. Now, appointing Clinton as a SOS would be a great "change" back to the policy that was before Bush, which was the exact same foreign policy, as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Yeah, what a "change". If that happens, I want my Obama's campaign donation back!

In the name of all that’s holy, I hope this isn’t true. We saw how diplomatic Hillary was in the primaries. She dictates rather than negotiate. She’s a fighter, not a uniter. Lots of better places for her to put that talent to use - like maybe the Senate? Hillary the Global Free Trader is NOT best to lead reforms for fair trade.

If she is to be appointed to a position, it should be a non-cabinet, arms length role from the President. There would simply be too much attention and emphasis (justified or otherwise) placed on her and her hubby in terms of President Obama's foreign policy positions.

What a wonderful thing that would be! Hilary is perfect for the job. International leaders already know her and respect her. She is so knowledgabls, she could jump right in. She would be on top of all issues and prepared to provide proactive leadership versus reactive. What a change from an ex-tennis partner who never gained international respect after 8 years of trying very hard.

In what evil parallel world would it be a good idea to put the Anti-Christ in charge of our diplomacy? HC is the hound from hell who damaged Obama more than the Republicans on foreign policy - and she did it in an obvious effort to cripple his candidacy enough that he could never win in November, thus ensuring she could run in 2012. Obama needs an aggressive & efficient Secretary of State. I do not know
weather Hillary Clinton meets the criteria . Health care would be better
as she has some experience in it,

Although she is not my first choice, Hillary would not be a bad choice. It shows that he is sincere when he says that he will listen to those who don't always agree with him. However, I disagree with those who say she deserves it. She was vastly unfair to Barack even condescending to him during the campaign. This opened up the flood gates for more attacks from John McCain during the general election. On the other hand, Bill Richardson has been very loyal in his support of Barack risking his friendship with the Clinton's to side with him. He also has more foreign policy experience. I say, if he wants Hillary in his cabinet for being supportive at the end so be it, but give her Secretary of Health and Human Services so that she can work on health care. However, Bill Richardson would be by far the smarter choice for secretary of state.

I really wish people would get off the Ron Paul bandwagon. What is so great about this guy? He's two-faced if you ask me (not that anyone did, of course). He's for smaller, limited government, yet wants to interfere in a woman's personal reproductive choices and what goes on in the bedrooms and hearts of grown adults. Hmmmm, doesn't sound like small government to me. Sounds like nosy big brother, but with low taxes and no regulation. Thanks, but no thanks.

I do like Hillary but I think I like Bill Richardson more. I do remember her fight in the 90s for healthcare. Even though as a health provider i'm doubtful the the universal health care approach will receive a warm reception I think should would do the crusade best in the Senate.

I voted for Barack Obama and with that vote I gave him the discretion to use his judgement to select a cabinet that he feels will best serve the interests of the American people both domestically and abroad. The names that are being floated around are all highly qualified for the job. I don't particularly care for Mrs. Clinton on a personal note but I have tremendous respect for her ability and I think she will be the most aggressive and thus effective. I feel that Bill Richardson has the perfect resume but maybe lacks the charisma to take on world leaders and leave a lasting impression. John Kerry is a well respected political leader in this country and has strong recognition abroad but I think he lacks that certain something that probably lost him the election in 2004. But as I said before, if it is any of the above mentioned or someone off the radar we must have confidence that our new President has the made the right choice. It is that very confidence that sets our democracy apart from the rest of the world and proves that in our relatively young history we emerged as the strongest and most unfied people on earth.
