Do you realize that you contradicted yourself in two short paragraphs? First, you make "half" baseless claims about Obama's funding without any proof. Then, you expose the lie by inquiring where the money comes from in your last sentence. In case you are truly interested, Obama received mainly small donations from almost 3.5 million Americans wanting to be part of a new direction for our country.

Whats wrong little RNC can't play by the rules anymore. That is the problem with the RNC they don't look to the future. If the regulations were not in place and individuals and corporations could have donated in excess of $2,300 to President-Elect Obama's campaign he would have raise at least a billion dollar all total. There is no question that McCain/Feingold rejects first ammendment rights by limited speech and money put into a campaign. These infringements on 1st ammendment should be overturned and allow whoever wants to advertise/donate do so no matter how much or how close to an election. Our constitution is not a living breathing document and should not be changed by people like Obama and McCain who are much less wise than our founding fathers.

Yeah, because our problem as a country right now is that there's just not enough of a marriage between money and politics.

I have an idea, we should turn the us Govornment into a publicly traded company. The dollar bill will be one share of stock. That way people vote based on how much money they have. That way we don't even need campaign donations and the rich don't have to waste their money ensuring their candidate will get elected, its allready a sure thing.

No one held McCains feet to the fire and made him take the easy way for financing his campaign. He could have worked hard like the Obama team did, but he was to lazy and thought he would take the easy way out. Obama knew he had to beat the sleeze machine the Republicans always role out and he knew beating that machine would take more then public funding would allow. Why the repubs think they have to go to court to beat this law is just another display of how they want to lie and sleeze their way back into office by having the swift boaters fund them, instead of working to earn the donations of the public. Hopefully the American voter will remember, come next election time, what a bunch of scum bags this group of republicans were and will vote accordingly IF the next bunch turn out to be the same bad apples this group was.

Funny! McCain could not win with federal money, and for some reason the Republicans don;t like the way Obama won the election.....so as usual they want to scrap the whole thing and start a new game that somehow will give THEM the advantage.

Another thought, maybe they realized Obama has 100 Million STILL LEFT in his warchest, and want ot find some way to disqualify THAT money from 2012!

For those that must follow the letter of the law and clearly want to abide by it, then it is essential that the law read in a manner that makes the playing field level in all respects. When both parties agree to abide by this law and then one (Obama) chooses not to, then the private funding will put those that use (McCain) it at a distinct disadvantage. Obama outspent McCain by 4 to 1 throughout the country. becasuse he was using private funding after he agreed not to use it. It speaks loudly to the fact that had McCain advertised as Obama, would he have lost? McCain did receive nearly 49% of the vote.

So you have to start from the premise that the money is leaving your pocket whether you like it or not. It's not going to stay in your pocket just because we got rid of some "evil social program"...they'll just find something else to spend it on...like unjustifiable wars.
