I'm glad someone finally set the record straight. This woman has endured more than her share of criticism, just as Hiliary did. Why do we not here about some of these kinds of details with the men running for office? Obama is a millionaire and yes, he can afford his expensive suits – but how much did they cost? The democrats are so concerned about the wasteful Republican spending. Obama spent a ridiculous amount of money to get elected– why doesn't anyone see a problem with that?

Wow, people really are incredibly hypocritical. First of all, Michelle Obama was not running for VP- she was not a candidate- so you can't compare spending money on her clothes with what the campaigns spent on the actual candidates. And to think you all believe that people were not shopping for the Obamas during the campaign. Sure she conveniently wore a JCrew outfit right after this story came out when in fact every other designer dress she wore cost a couple grand each. You think Michelle personally went out and bought her daughter's cute $450 dress for election night?? If campaigns can spend money on staging and such then why not clothes. Where was this side of the story a month ago? Would have ended this crap quickly. Furthermore: I said in the beginning they (Rick Davis) could have rolled her out like this:
Gibson: Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine?
Palin: Charlie, I'll tell you what.. I was brought to this ticket for my experience in Managing in Government, my conservative principles, and my willingness to go against the party if I had to to get things done. Foreign policy is something I am learning and will continue to learn from a guy with 26 years of experience.

Would have probably won them the race, had they handled it from this point. Would have taken the argument of "lack of knowledge" and put it aside. This was my thought back in early Sept. But what do I know I am just a normal guy who voted for Obama.

The "failure of management" wasn't that they didn't keep track of what was spent on clothing. The "failure of management" was having chosen a VP at the last minute, after one meeting. The "failure of management" was not even knowing what their failure was. Sounds like this crew wasn't qualified to manage a candy store let alone the United States of America.

Where was the rest of her clothes and family clothes?I guess the clothes were on a bridge to nowhere. That big mouth gal from Alaska who was her spokeswoman could have arranged a flight for her clothes. If memory tells me ,i think after she spent a few days on the campaign trail Sarah Palin did return to Alaska before the convention. What was this idiot thinking? One one hand, I might be able to understand being caught up in the whirlwind of it all, shopping sprees, handlers, etc.

But... all we heard throughout the campaign was how prepared Gov Palin was for the Vice-Presidency; how much more Executive experience she had over Sen Obama.

What keeps popping in my head is if she has all of this knowledge, experience, judgment, guts to take down the establishment, etc., then why didn't she have enough foresight and simply say 'no.'

the whole clothes ordeal was a bit ridiculous. it was like the john edwards haircut. the focus should have been on the campaign and policy not on how much she spent on clothes. granted, the price was outlandish, but not worth dominating days of news cycles. attack her for being a weak candidate, not for her wadrobe budget, or lack there of.
