While President-elect Obama is reaching out to his opponents, going beyond the election campaign and trying to create an inclusive administration, Huckabee is a typical republican with a "holier-than-thou" attitude. He is out for the money, writing a weak commentary, being critical of other republicans and pushing himself with Hannity.

I have voted for republicans in the past, but voted for Senator Obama this time. The republicans have a long way to go to gain any credibility back. The likes of Huckabee, Fred Thompson and Palin will not be able to give that to them.

Hey, I read somewhere that the Wall Street bailout is working. Really? After giving CEOs and upper top management their pay and bonuses and RELEASING thousands of workers, it's working? We should have NEVER bailed out Wall Street and the government should have just taken oven the entire industry to provide CREDIT and get the cash flowing. We should have let the CEOs apply for unemployment and welfare, the way I did for not being able to find work.

We should ask these people to do community service.

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Eighteen days after conception, that embryo has a HEARTBEAT. Anything that has a heartbeat is ALIVE. I struggled with it, but I realize I live because I have a heartbeat, so abortion is killing. We should strive to PREVENT abortions.

The Universe has laws and scientists study them everyday and realize that the laws are perfect for the Universe to stay its course. God gave us laws, let's not ignore them.

I cant stand Huckabee. I tuned into his Fox Noise show for 2 minutes the other day and had to change the channel. He was talking about the prop 8 protests and how much the protesters were turning "violent" against the "innocent" religious counter protesters. Give me a break, this guy just doesn't get it and hopefully the Republicans decide to stray away from these types of candidates or else their party will really be extinct.

Why is it A-OK to take three (3) lines out of Huckabee's book to create non-existant discord among the GOP.

But it is NOT OK to take five (5) chapters out of Obama's book to point to drug abuse and a deep relationship with a racist pastor?

Have any of you read Clinton's memoirs? If you think Huckabee's book is bad what do you have to say about them?

I wonder if the book will include the Morman church's attempt for over 30 years to complete the genocide on the Native Americans that were removed by McCain's bill in 1997 onto a radio-active toxic dump so that the land could be sold and Peabody Coal could make millions off this land. It involved the "code talkers"....you know , Navajo that saved the U.S. in W.W.II. Will his book also include the remark he made when the loud noise was heard back stage,"oh,that's just Obama ducking from a shot".??????????pretty crude statement coming from a preacher. I have watched the past campaign and diffently learned alot about "dirty" politics.The GOP leads in this field. The race is over. He is a former Baptist minister...isn't he supposed to "turn the other cheek"? But no...he's SLAPPING THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE FACE for no reason at all AFTER the election is over. He seemed to be the most far-right of all the Republican candidates to me. Mitt Romney wasn't so bad in my opinion, especially BEFORE he changed his views on abortion and gay marriage to pander to the religious right. I do not agree with anything that Gov. Huckabee stands for, but I do admire him for his strong convictions. It seems to me that he wants the Bible to become the law here in the US, so that we can outlaw abortion, gay marriage, & anything else evangelical conservatives don't like because of their religious beliefs. However, I must remind you that we DO have a separation of church and state in this country (or at least we are supposed to). That would be why I think the GOP needs to be more moderate if it wants people to come back to it. John McCain also changed his views on abortion, immigration, civil unions, and other things to pander to the conservative base of his party. I am an independent, but lean Democrat. If he had not changed his views to satisfy his party, I might have voted for McCain. I admire people who keep their own views regardless of the party's opinion...and it unfortunately seems like too many Republicans continue to move to the right to make the rest of the GOP happy.

I think Huckabee is getting unfair coverage on this. While it is arguable whether he is being too harsh or personally insulting to his former rivals (I would argue he is, but perhaps only slightly depending on the context of his comments), the TIME article I read mentioned that attacks are not the main thrust of his book. The corrections and ideals necessary for the GOP to rebuild and move into the future are what he spends most of his book talking about. Perhaps that's why he attacks some of his rivals, because he's trying to show that the GOP should not follow these particular leaders (or principles they stand for) into the future.

So, I think the media coverage is overemphasizing the negative parts, which by all accounts, is only a small part of his book.
