Personal to WC:

Please explain the anti-Catholic phenomenon in 1960 against JFK.

Put the King James Bible down first, though! You know, the Bible commissioned by Queen Elizabeth I to substantiate England's wrath of "terror exploration" in the new world!!!

Hey Daniel. May I suggest that you no longer listen to Rush, Hannity and the like? Your post sounds so angry. Try another point of view, perhaps watching Countdown with Keith Obermann, and see if some of your anger disapates. Good luck.

I think it's ridiculous that anyone would use this poll to discount the Obama voters. TRUST ME, that poll is a reflection of ALL AMERICANS. Both republicans and democrats are completely ignorant of the issues and the politics that affect their lives. If you conduct the same poll with republicans (which I am sure it has been done) you will find similar results. The general population of this country are made up of ignorant people, and I am sure this is the case for nearly all the nations of this world.

I can't wait for another democratic controlled Capitol Hill. Last time We got NAFTA. Remember thats how all of our good paying manufacturing jobs left the country. HEY, maybe we can all share our unemployment checks as apart of the share the wealth program.
And I agree, Bush screwed up. We should have never gone into Iraq. But don't worry Change is coming, it will be in the form of higher taxes, and more breaks for the big lobbiest, but if you don't beleive me see who got the highest campain contributions from the Big Oil companies and others like them.
Good jobz people good jobz. Oh thats right, they all left with the help of NAFTA.

Memo to Max: When 99% of the African-American population votes for a black-looking man, that's called RACISM. That's what you would call it if 99% of other races voted for McCan. Admit it. The pure numbers speak for themselves. You have to decide if you are a victim, a racist, or simply a human being who can see something good in both sides of an election. You can't have it all ways. No more discussion needed on that point.

I see alot of comments coming from the right that Obama voters are not informed. I'm not sure what you are basing that on, but it's incorrect. 58% of voters with postgraduate education voted Obama. 50% of college educated voters went for Obama. 52% of voters who make $200,000 or more voted for Obama. Those are not groups who tend to be "uninformed". Anyway, I've experienced 8 years of Republican control and seen our country driven into the ground by GOP policy. I voted Bush in 2000, but I'm not sure I'll ever vote Republican again. I voted Democrat in the last two elections because I did study the issues. If Obama can guide us through these rough times he will go down as one of the greatest presidents of all time. Good luck Obama, good luck Americans, and God bless the United States of America.

Well, for those of you who think that Republicans will sit back and let Democrats do whatever they want without opposition, you got another thing coming.

I think it is kinda hypocritical when, for 8 years EVERY democrat called Bush every name in the book, and treated him like a Pariah and then expect Republicans to sit back and revel at the Majesty of the MESSIAH Obama.

I will do my best to respect him as President, but I will not unquestionably sit back and expect him to save the world.

I live in St. Louis - I am not surprised by the outcome.

I was one of two people in my workplace who voted Obama. And get this, I work for a college. A COLLEGE. Educated individuals all over and I was one of only two people who had any sense.

I haven't considered myself an American for the last eight years, and I am ashamed of this backwards state.

It's sad to see how much hate and ignorance comes from the Right, not to mention self-righteousness. And they just make up statistics like, "Most people voted for Obama and were uniformed." Stupid comments from Ike like, "Sadly, most of those people are blacks," show just how dumb people can still be. Black people have been voting for Democrats for years. This one happened to be black, but now the reason for the vote must be because he's black, not because the Democrats have treated blacks with more respect than Republicans since the Reagan era. Don't feel sorry for us poor black folks. Save your pity.

"Uninformed voters" elected Obama... I'll bet this came from the same source that told us Obama is an Arab. If "uninformed" means they didn't listen to right-wing radio, I guess I'd agree.

We should all be as informed as Sarah Palin.

PS Missouri is a beautiful state (actually the whole U.S.A. is!!) there are plenty from both sides of the ticket who voted. The fact is that Obama won this round - and we need to quiet the "rage" and come together and back our new President-elect----its the thing to do and please folks, enjoy the simple things in life for a little while (take a breath!) it may be all some of us may have for now - but I can still smile and enjoy a cup of tea and a lesson of life from my grand-daughter (who is so much wiser than some of the hateful posts I see hear) - please clean it up for the children if nothing else.

FYI Ike:
You're OBVIOUSLY an expert on the political awareness of blacks (lol), so I'm sure I don't have to tell you that:

1) MOST people who voted for Obama were WHITE.
2) I'm black, and I, as well as many blacks already knew who Obama was well before the 2008 election. I started researching Obama and his political philosophy back in 2004 after he spoke at the Democratic National Convention.
3) The same percentage of blacks that voted for Obama was roughly the same % of blacks that voted for Kerry and Gore. Were those votes "racist" too?

All of you children who keep saying "who cares...Obama still won," et al. should take a good look in the mirror. You're mere shells of thoughtful human beings. I am registered Democratic and I voted for John McCain. I did not, however, vote for Bush. The dems worked very hard to convince people that McCain was another Bush and you ALL believed them. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't have to dig very deep to realize that before this election, McCain was every Democrat's favorite Republican. Until people learn to research the candidates for themselves and also realize that moderate, responsible leaders are what we need, we'll be going nowhere really quickly!

Only about 3000 votes... A few months ago, who could have even considered that Missouri was going to be a battleground state? 4 out of 5 red state battleground wins isn't a bad outcome bad (Indiana, North Carolina, Missouri, Virginia, Ohio).

Misery is more like it.

Have you ever driven on their roads? Good grief.

I never considered Missouri a state anyway, more like a cess-pool of uneducated losers. It would be a fine place for someone like Rush to move to.

Time to heal this nation and get onto the serious work ahead, our children are counting on us to act like adults. All this petty hatred and resentment is sending a terrible message to our future generation. Name calling and insults are for little thinkers. We need to get behind our new president and believe tomorrow can be great.

Technically AND LEGALLY Maccain won in Missouri, but statistically it was a tie. The margin is little more than one tenth of one percent.
3632/2887992 = 0.0012 5
If there were a case like Florida 2000, I am sure there would have been a recount and investigation into fraud and other things.
But since Obam has won the race with a land slide, Missouri out come does not matter.
I CALL IT 50/50

Missouri fell for the outright lies of Palin. She spent a lot of time there in the closing days. Unfortunately Missouri bought into her lies. I' very surprised, especially from the "Show Me" state! She showed you nothing, just told a bunch of lies, over and over again. So much for "Show Me", now I guess it's just "Tell Me". Which doesn't say much for Missouri. Sorry to see that, oops, I mean hear that.

All of the talk about tolerance and love of the right-wing religious nuts is nothing but BS. Otherwise, I'd have moved and lived in their states.

The problem with dumb people is that they don't know they are dumb. And dumb people tend to be superstitious and rely on their 'so-called' faith to subjugate others in the name of religious freedom!

Get with it, folks -- religion has nothing to do with morality. Those who are against gay marriage know darn well that they would be pissed if there were law that restrict touching themselves! Though, it'd be difficult to enforce such law!

For those who keep being negative on the choice you need to put it to rest because President Elect Obama is in the House and instead of slamming Him why not get on the good foot and help make the Change.

To put it quite simply has anyone seen the new poll out about Obama supporters? You should. It gives you a good glimpse into who voted for him and how uninformed they were. Over half those interviewed did not know that dems were in control of the house and senate. More than half did not know pelosi, reid or Barney Frank. It is mind boggling how ignorant they were but yet they voted. Good job to Missouri you did pick the right man. The rest of America will have the next 4 years to see what total dem control is like.

------------------------------------------------------------
Can it get any worst than what your REPUBLICAN President has done? Let me guess, you voted for Bush? Considering this why should anyone take your advice on whom they should have voted for. You're clearly bad at making decisions.

Most people voted for Obama and were uniformed. They were too scared to research him because they feared they would be exposed to all the evil stuff about this man. Sadly, most of those people are blacks. And personally, I think it is racist to vote based on the color of a persons skin.

As one of those so called ignorants who voted for Obama - got to burst your bubble and let you know that polls show us great unwashed democrats actually not only knew the dems would gain control of the 3 tiers of government, but also VOTED for it eyes wide open.

The people have spoken and just like 47% of us had to do for 8 very long years, it is now time for those who did not vote for Obama to suck it up and accept the will of the people. How do you think we felt in 2000 and 2004?

Instead of tearing shreads off the president elect and those of us who voted for him and the Dems in the house and senate, why not give them a chance, after all 8 years of Republican control doesn't seem to have done this country any favors.

FYI

St. Louis City and St. Louis County went for Obama in a big way. The "Harry Truman" part of the state needs to be educated.
