So Mukasey's an old man and he had a stroke. It doesn't make his legal positions endorsing the behavior of the Bush administration defensible.

I don't know whether or not defending Bush's crimes causes him stress, though I observe that this is what attorneys do every day. Likely he just had an unlucky day. The fact that he was lucid shortly after he woke up is a very positive sign.

They haven't announced a diagnosis because a stroke is a disabling illness and he would have to be replaced, at least temporarily.

I didn't see a single poster expressing 'joy'' at Mukasey's callapse. There were a few snide comments about his political leanings and abilities in general, but that is a far cry from expressing joy at his plight. Clearly nothing more critical and cynical than what was IN FACT posted on these blogs by you idiots when Kennedy's condition was a story. So actually, it is not "us liberals" who are disgusting. It is you rightwingers who are the disgusting ones.....making up stories and lies, and feigning shock at slights that don't exist. But let's face it that is nothing new for you neo-dimwits. Why are some of you people so mean and nasty ? The man has a medical problem. This is America and just because someone doesn't agree with you does not mean that you have to wish bad things on them. Remember, " what goes around, comes around ".

I personally cannot stand Bush, to the point of feeling physically sick when I see him or hear his voice, HOWEVER, I don't wish bad things on everybody connected with him.

As a politician, Mukasey sucks and his support of Bush and Cheney has affected millions of people negatively. I'm a firm believer that you reap what you sow and that bad karma can come back in any form. But.....as a human being I would rather see it be in the form of legal punishment, not a physical illness. I hope he gets better.

However, man of his age, known non-drinker, does not slurry his speech, sway and collapse, and later being given clean bill of health!
It is a stroke, even if it's minor. He should had transfered his responsibilities.

To add to it, George Bush have appointed smart and experienced persons to his cabinet. barack cannot find any decent person to support his policy so he has decided to take in everybody from Clinton can including Hillary. What a change. Our markets are going down the toilet and Barack is silent. He cannot even appoint a treasure secretary so that people can have a direction and gain confidence in te wall street. He suffered a stroke....can't tell how serious....but it looks like that's what happened....why does he look older than 67? Someone mentioned term limits in the White House...their should be age limits too...When you get up in age, there are some things you just shouldnt be doing... (driving is one of them, in my opinion...!)

I have watched that video several times, and I agree with CNN's Dr. Gupta that was some kind of a stroke, even a TIA (mini-stoke). I don't think it is just a case of fainting.

Whichever, too bad it happened. And to one poster who made a remark about this guy needing term limits, I think you might be talking about is age. Age 67 is NOT old these days, folks. McCain was going to turn 73 six months after he got into office had he beat Obama.

Why isn't the retirement age extended to politics?! Why are these old people allowed to practically die in their positions? They are too old and this is ridiculous!
