Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

If you guys stopped posting on the Palin blogs, the MEDIA would get the clue you truly are disinterested and won't send the cameramen up there anymore.

    As for the birds,
Only Tofurkey Gobblers need Object to the subject material. This is how it's done, weirdos.

Why is this news? BTW, do people think turkeys commit suicide so we can cook them for Thanksgiving? Maybe watching them be slaughtered will get more people to buy tofurkeys this year.

Poor Sarah, she did not even know what was going on around her. Her handlers and the camera crew should have done better then that. She has enough to think about without managing her shot. She has to think of how best to twist her statements so that nobody can figure them out. Perhaps she is speaking in code and communication with Putten as he raises his head threw our air space.

Oh poor turkeys getting slaughtered there. Pardon them all Sarah!!! Pardon them all!!!

I would have loved to watch her hatchet one herself. She's not an idiot. All you bleeding heart liberal-socialists are. When the markets keep tanking after Obama takes office and people are starving in the streets in record numbers at least she knows how to provide for her family.

When did we become pansies like France? God bless the good 'ole US of A.

Lose the turkey jokes. The real turkey (the bird) is actually an intelligent and senstive creature.

    How is this disturbing?

Oh yeah...when Obama eats turkeys, they are not killed. He just wills them onto his plate.

The photo op and the trackless sentences are deliberate. Palin understands power, and she is knows how to gather and wield power. The power to save and the power to kill. And while opponents and citizens alike stare agape at her, she wields that power to save or destroy on her WHIM anyone (or turkey) who stand in her way. Get the message?

Following the intellectual legacy of Bush the "decider" - as he grins astride GolfKart One, the Palin's of the world don't worry about details like whether Africa is a country or a continent. All they want is the gun and their finger on the trigger.

Yes, thank you CNN for reminding the nation and the world one more time of HOW GRATEFUL we all are that "Village Idiot" from Alaska is not running the nation from behind John McCain.

Everytime the media hauls this pathetic excuse for a woman and politician out in front of the nation, the media reinforces all that the intelligent electorate suspected about her-SHE IS DUMB!!! So if Palin thinks the media is serving her, she is wrong, the media is destroying her!!!!

clint, you are a republican moron. The point is we have a woman before us who is clueless, and you would vote for that clueless person as our commander in chief or representative of this country. You, she, and the rest of the republican clueless party that ran this country into the dirt the last 8 years are NOT the representatives of our people. DEAL WITH THAT.

Who gives a ____! I am so tried of hearing any kind of news about Sarah Palin. If CNN really wanted to make news about her that she be asking, "What has she done as governor since she's been back in Alaska?" As an Alaskan I can tell you, very little! She cares more about what good for Sarah!

Being that she's in charge of the turkey and that and that there's another turkey being slaughtered behind her and that and that the economy's tanking and there has to be jobs in there and that and that we might have to cross the border into Pakistan and that it should be a good Thanksgiving after all and that!

You forgot to mention the best part of the yak: "This was neat. I was happy to get to be invited to participate in this," Palin said with a smile. " You need a bit of levity in this job." And that's exactly what she added to the 2008 presidential campaign. Levity.

Well I'm disappointed. After all that talk about her being an experience moose hunter, I was expecting her to slaughter the bird herself, pluck it using her teeth, and clean out the innards with her bare hands...all the while chattin' with the biased liberal media folk. You betcha!

Now, can we ignore her please?

Clint you need to get out of your narrow view and quit the blame game and see the irony of it all. Palin was there to "pardon an Alaska turkey" and spare its life this thanksgiving but she unwittingly was being interviewed at the same site with a background of turkeys being slaughtered which basically makes the pardoning photo op priceless.

Thank goodness that women is not my Vice President. Stay in Alaska where you belong. You are a clueless women that doesn't know what the VP does, doesn't understand how the government works, is way to pro-choice and not for freedom of Americans, believes in banning books of homosexuals, doesn't know the Bush doctrine, let a lone her own running mate's deregulation. THANK GOD YOU ARE NOT MY VICE PRESIDENT!!!!!

Let's leave Sarah in Alaska where they understand and appreciate her best. The rest of America is more than a little bewildered by her oblivious nature. Sarah is not a sensitive person as witnessed by her hunting inclinations.

Just because that is where the turkeys we eat come from does not mean it is smart or appropriate to use a gory back drop for "pardoning" a turkey and giving an interview. sarah said moments before she's a "friend to all creatures great and small" she is oblivious and tone deaf.
