Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

How many of you are horrified by a turkey dying humanely, yet would fight tooth and nail to protect the "right" to basically decapitate a 6,7,8 MONTH old fetus being nearly born because the mom "doesn't want it"? Would you even be disgusted by a video of THAT???

The former Miss Alaska-cum-Wasilla mayor-cum-Governor repeatedly demonstrates what most of us have long suspected about all those pretty girls in the beauty contests.

    BRAIN-DAMAGED!

Seriously, Sarah's got a lock on the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination because, barring a major screw-up or catastrophe, Obama will be a shoo-in for reelection (nearly all incumbent Presidents are), and the Republicans are going to need a sacrificial lamb to run against him.

You know ..... someone who can go down to defeat without dimming any of the party's too few bright lights.

This poor woman just keeps digging herself in deeper. Why do I care? Why do we care? I'm not sure, but I think it's because it's like "someone needs to tell her...."

  5. Know Hillary - No Hillary

Effective leadership and authoritative power – that's what she's all about. When she says something as governor of Alaska, she means business – a pardon is a pardon --ooops!

Palin is not unaware of what is happening. CNN, why would you say she is unaware? She just chose to ignore it. We all know we kill turkeys to eat them. The whole thing was a silly story.

So what??? A turkey loses its head, and somebody gets a great dinner.

    Boohooo.

    Life goes on people.....

This is why McCain needs to burn in a particular hell, one reserved for old men with foolish ambitions. How dare he present this woman to the country as his choice for VP!

And if the GOP thinks this is the future than the future for the GOP is very dim indeed.

Again, this woman seems unable to form coherent, complete sentences, even in her staged photo opportunities. A complete dolt. It isn't so much that a turkey is being slaughtered in the background. It's that a state governor has the time or the stupidity to turn such a prosaic event into another dim-witted publicity stunt. Now she's got "Joe-the-Turkey-Killer" standing behind her.

And some people thought she would be alert enough to VP??? I can't stop laughing.

i'm continually amazed that someone can speak so many words, yet say nothing at all.

As for the video itself, i can't think of a more insane juxtaposition—besides, perhaps, Sarah Palin talking about crime being low in Alaska, and someone being robbed in the background...

She gives women a bad name. Thank God that she is not going to be helping run our country. She needs to go home and keep her mouth shut. Alaska PLEASE keep her home!!!! and God bless you for having to put up wth her!

people who get their feathers ruffled because of things like this have some serious issues. who.......the hell...........cares.......there are bigger problems in the world other than worrying about the governor of Alaska's stance on turkeys...come on people.

She's an idiot. It doesn't seem where going to have to worry about her being the new leader of anything. Hopefully she will fade out of the news and then completely out of the public and political arena.
    Good Ridence, you betcha!

Well, you know, she is very friendly and accessible..

When any of you has the cajones to say this mean filth of yours to her face, I will be impressed.

Ok, so I read people calling her a turkey, white trash, an idiot, and stupid. Wow! Democrats are so inclusive and kind to others...if you happen to be a democrat. Do you people realize how sexist, racist, and utterly stupid you sound when you continue to rail her? It is really sad.

I agree that the turkey being killed during the interview was in poor taste...no pun intended, but come on. Most people will eat turkey for Thanksgiving, and it has to die somehow. For all you that don't, and choose to eat a vegan or vegetarian diet, please do not let me see you cut the lettuce or carrots. It is just too much to bear....lol.

Stop picking on Palin – at least she understands Thanksgiving! McCain gave 28% of his net income before taxes to charity between 2000-2007, while Obama gave less that 1%...1%!!! Palin – 6%, Biden – less than 1/2 of 1%!!! Oh, you'll all be giving thanks when Obama uses YOUR money to provide for everyone who refuses to work and breed like there ain't no tomorrow! Why support pro-death when you're just going to increase taxes to feed all those folks anyway? Vote Dem so you don't have to think...be lemmings all the way to the poles...just incredible...

    She winked again?

Sarah, get that fixed. Trust me, I do not want the President or Vice-President or anyone else in public office winking at me, unless she is not only cute but also un-married.
