Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

The Governor of Alaska see America very differently than the rest of us.
She thinks that it is OK for her to go

    PALIN AROUND WITH FEATHERISTS.

Actually the Turkeys were fighting each other to be next on the chopping block when they heard she was coming to speak about them.

Abby, give me a break. Did Bush get any kind of warm response prior to taking office? Did he get the benefit of the doubt prior to making any presidential decisions? NO, he didn't. It's the way it works, and because Obama is your guy, doesn't mean he should get special treatment. The hypocrisy and double standard on the left baffles me sometimes...not to say that it doesn't occur across the board, but it's so blatantly ignored by the media when it happens for the left.

Hey, Clint! We'll grow up as soon as you get a brain. The issue isn't the turkey being slaughtered in the background. This issue what's talking in the foreground, which is an empty-headed imbecile who can't speak in coherent, complete sentences, yet thought she was ready to be President of the United States. That's the reason why this clip is news. It shows how stupid and gullible a lot of voters were in the last election who thought she would make a fine leader of the free world. The idea that someone like Palin can come as close as she did to the presidency is downright frightening, even if you don't consider the dire straits this country is in right now.

Who cares? They were killing an animal. So what? This happens every day thousands of times across America. Why is this unfortunate? What, is CNN a member of PETA now?

  7. Hey You

To those who "check" these messages before "allowing" them to be seen by the public (who is responsible for you even HAVING A JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!). I hope for YOUR SAKE, that you are simply Interns doing this for College credit. If this is a min. wage job (which I am sure it must be, seeing as your intelligence levels are obviously not capable of obtaining more "thought provoking" work).... maybe you should try McDonald's. You'd get to wear a cool head set!!! and actually talk with people. Instead of pretending to have some "power" sitting behind your DELL.. Allowing The brainless comments (which you can understand) and not allowing any INTELLIGENT posts, seeing as they are above your pay grade!

I don't get it. Why is a turkey being slaughtered an "unfortunate scene"? Palin doesn't see this as an issue because she isn't uncomfortable with the fact that animals are killed and eaten. I think some of you might be surprised to see how many americans are also not uncomfortable with htis concept. Some people even *gasp* kill animals themselves. Can you believe it?

The way this stupid excuse for a news article is spun is so very obvious. Come on, unless you're a vegetarian or something, it's hypocritical for you to go on about a dying turkey in the background like it's something scandalous. Do you think YOUR thanksgiving turkey grows on a tree or something?

I don't like Sarah Palin, but I know ridiculous bias when I see it. Also, can we quit this stupid obsession with her – both the hate and the love? She's irrelevant. This kind of thing only keeps her in the spotlight.

This looks exactly like a Jimmy Kimmel bit... it's hard to satirize Sarah Palin... just show the original videos... same results.

How is this even newsworthy? That's the problem with news coverage. It's as much entertainment as news. And all of the comments posted to the effect of "boy, I'm sure glad we didn't elect her as Vice President" are laughable. Really? THIS interview is what confirms your decision? Please.

Yeah, who cares. 90% of us have a turkay for Thanksgiving. I think we have a mandate in this one. The people have spoken. Oops.... wait the California Supreme Court may step in an say that turkeys have rights too.

It’s really shameful to see her talk and then funny enough have some people defending her about media scrutiny, they should just leave her alone am tired of her already and I thought the election was done so we can get a break from her ignorance. Why is CNN keeping on bringing her interviews like we have not had enough of her yet

    Hey LiberalHateAmerica,

Do Rebuplicans every take responsibility for anything?
You all used to blame Clinton for everything...at least you now have someone else to blame.

One can only wonder what the market would be doing if the guy who said he doesn't know much about the economy was elected.

So, how do you like the new faces of the Republican Party?
Sarah Palin and an unlicensed, uneducated plumber who is delinquent on both his taxes and child support.

Where did you people think the bird on your table came from? Oh horrors of horrors – actual footage of the carnage done by the millions daily and you poor people had to see it. Do you think hamburger is fried red algae? Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Bad place to shoot an interview but sometime when people are working you have to get an interview when you have the chance. Palin isn't like Obama who had always perfect "photo shoots" for the media. I don't see why everyone likes to bash Palin so much, sure she was not the best canidate for VP but McCain was not a good pick for the Republican canidate. To those who hope to see Palin as the pick in 2012 and think the Dems are going to win you are so wrong.

4 Years of a complete Democratic controlled Washington will ruin this country and many people may regret what they voted for in 08. Our hope is that in 2012 someone like Ron Paul will be elected so we can get true change and return our country to that which our founding fathers created.

Clint, If you are going to insult democrats you should learn how to spell the word. Most of these comments do not express sympathy for the doomed turkeys. I don't eat turkey but still know how others get the ones they eat. It probably just wasn't the best place for her to stand during her post pardoning interview.

Hey, she was there supporting a local business and didn't mind that the workers actually worked while she was there. If you actually wonder where the turkey comes from that you eat on Thanksgiving, you need to eat a veggie loaf this year. I was thinking about mashed potato's and gravy. Yumbo.
