Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

And this is the future of the Republican Party? I hope not, for their sake. But if they choose to put her in any position of influence or authority, the Dems. will keep right on winning, and I'm okay with that. We need to turn this country around dramatically, and it may take more than 8 years. It took Bush 8 years to destroy it completely, now it has to be turned around. January 20th cannot come fast enough!!

  2. OMG, lol

Could this have been a possible foreshadow of America if she had been put as second in command...?

    Lmao...
    :D Good one Sarah.

I agree with Danny in Chicago November 21st, 2008 1:34 pm ET on that video idea ;)

It is so great to see Ms. Palin completely humiliate herself, her party, and her aspirations.

This is outstanding comedy. Wonderful entertainment.

You have got to be kidding me. Are you out of your minds, CNN?! Are you so friggin' biased on your political views that you would actually make this a "news" item?!

I am not a huge Sarah Palin fan. But, enough is enough. Trying to make a monster out of her because she's shown giving an interview in front of a turkey being slaughtered is about as low as it gets.

I wonder when you're all at homes celebrating and giving thanks with your family - while chowing down on such a turkey - that the irony of the moment won't even occur to you.

Palin is a dimwit whose command of the English language is just like W. Bush's. And the people of Alaska elected her as their governor. It's beyond me how anyone could have voted for this person to be VP. She need to go away.

How many people that were shocked by the killing of the turkey will be eating turkey that someone had to kill on this coming Thanksgiving day?

The only reason I can see for CNN continuing to dog this woman over everything she does must be because they know America hasn't see the last of this woman and libs everywhere are scared to death of her. Must be because so many conservatives agree with her on so many subjects.

King Obama can only reign for 8 years....then it may be Palin's turn so let's discredit her often and early.

What is with the Palin bashing?
I thought everyone was so inspired and overwhelmed by the Obama win? I thought petty things like disrespecting a woman for the way she talks, where she lives, and what she does, would be beneath such an inspired and changed people?
Inspired and changed.....no, more like self centered and egocentric attitudes from the least mature voters/supporters ever.

This Sara Palin is the perfect example of a person who thinks the job title makes you who you are. She realy believes she knows what she is suppose to know simply because of her title. This in turn makes her ignorant. She is not even smart enough to go and try to learn what she is suppose to know. What a real ignoranr person she is

That is an ironic photo op indeed but most of you have lost any sense of reality. Granted the televising of the turkey being killed in the background is not the nicest to hear but where the heck do you think all these wonderful cuts of meat come from?

Do you think your grandparents/great grandparents all got their food packaged up into little neat wrappers from the store? So she is at the place where the food originates...Shocking! She must be white trash since she is there!

How many of you were disgusted by her being a hunter? Or that she wears fur? How many of you are disgusted that Obama has a leather belt or shoes? Eats meat?

Mrs Palin has attained the dubious status of Media Darling, once held by Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Amy Winehouse, among others. This means that the media is going to follow her around & report on anything they might deem remotely newsworthy, including routine visits to the gynecologist, despite the fact that their Darling isn't actually doing anything IMPORTANT at the moment. Entertainment Tonight can't get enough of her. Hopefully, eventually they'll move on & give the crown to someone else.

Mike, it's about the irony of the story in my opinion. She pardons one turkey while another is slaughtered in the background. Obviously they don't die on their own or commit suicide. I live in Iowa, I know how animals are slaughtered.

Look, I don't like her values but you people cross the line. When will you accept that he last thing Sarah Palin is is dumb or stupid. She is a whip, a very capable governor and was a great Mayor. You cannot possibly hate somebody so much that you are blind about her talents.

Move along. Sheesh the one sided media already won the election for Obama. Go find some real news now. Maybe go take a boat ride around Somalia and see how much a boat load of journalists is worth in ransom.

Ofcourse this is news! Thanks CNN for the reminder of how inept Palin is and how close she came to becoming second in command!

"Certainly will probably..." Which is it...certainly or probably? lmao the hilarity with Palin's painful way of speaking never ceases.
